Fortunately for Rudy, his abundant charm kept friends from saying the word NO around six inches away from impossible.

Rudy came from a fucked-up family in what he called the soured gutter of southern Mississippi, and while Rudy had divorced himself from his family’s deep-seeded prejudice years before he hit the highway without looking back, their views had colored his early childhood in many garish hues.

Yet you would never know it, seeing as how Rudy loved everyone, no matter what race or cultural background they came from. This was especially true of women. Rudy loved ‘em tall and short, thin and wide, redheaded and blond. Hell, he would’ve happily had ‘em bald. Two legs and a set of titties were about all Rudy needed to want to know a girl a bit better.

Rudy wasn’t a handsome man, with a bright shock of rowdy red hair, drooping over one eye most of the time, with a raggedy thin body that made you think he must have grown up half-orphan. If he had bush instead of a set of twig and berries, Rudy could’ve easily played the part of Annie.

Luck followed Rudy just about everywhere, and everything was made easier by his beaming personality and ebony colored eyes, both which seemed to swallow the rest of his appearance. Most women started out wary while Rudy was still in the stew of his first few sentences, but once the banter had rolled to a boil, the ladies never left.

Rudy stayed with friends everywhere he went, and never had a permanent address. He’d send you a postcard from Arkansas, then show up on your doorstep demanding your couch just three days later. He was generally met with a kind word, a welcome, and sometimes with a subtle annoyance, but once he started spilling adventures, friends suddenly developed amnesia, forgetting all about how he had shown up out of the blue without so much as a courteous text.

Rudy’s sudden appearance on Jacob’s doorstep, right before his party, wasn’t too far out of the ordinary. “Hey there, Jakie!” he shouted from the stoop, knocking on the door and looking disheveled. “Wakie wakie, eggs and bakie.”

“Rudy! Hey man! How the hell you been?” Jacob smiled, opening the door and throwing both his long arms around his old friend.

“Great, great, always great!” Rudy said, his smile brilliant as always.

“Come on in,” Jacob said. “I didn’t know you were still around. It’s good to see ya.”

“Yeah, man, I was supposed to hop a train and be outta Cali by now, but I got stuck with a temp job over with the boats. Bit longer than I like to stay in one place, but it’ll do!”

Jacob ushered Rudy through his house, then out onto a deck overlooking the ocean. Jacob laughed, “You haven’t stayed in one place this long since I’ve known you, bro. What gives?”

Running a work worn hand through his hair, Rudy said, “Well, you know how much I love the ocean, and the chicks here think I’m cute as a fuzzy puppy. Plus the work well hasn’t run dry, so I think I’ll hang out until the money’s vapor.”

“You’re getting soft in your old age, dude,” Jacob poked him in the arm.

Rudy smiled, the cracks in his weathered face deepening as he widened his smile. “Mind if I hit your shower?”

“Hell, go for it,” Jacob motioned a hand in that general direction. “You know where it is.”

Rudy headed toward the shower to scrub the layer of salt and sweat, along with the stench of fish that came from working the docks, from his body. His loud, slightly off key singing voice echoed throughout the house. Jacob shook his head, laughing to himself as he cut the block of cheese on the counter into cubes, preparing for the party.

Thirty minutes and a final drop of hot water later, a freshly shaven and squeaky clean Rudy came bounding from the bathroom like a kid with a fresh shot of sugar. He joined Jacob in the kitchen, jumping up on the counter and swinging his legs from the side.

Rudy’s energy never ceased to amaze Jacob. Maybe it was because he had nothing to tie him down, and no intentions of ever having anyone to worry about but himself, but Jacob certainly admired his love for life.

“So,” he said plucking a cube of cheese off the cutting board, “what’s new in your world, man?”

“You know, same shit different day,” Jacob said, stabbing a cube of pepperoni with a toothpick. “I’m having a party tonight. Wanna hang?”

“Awwww shit…” Rudy squealed. “As long as you’re not gonna try and set me up with a future wife again, I’m game.”

Jacob laughed with the memory of setting Rudy up on a blind date with one of his girlfriend’s friends. “Nah, I think you ruined Jewel’s career of being a match maker the last time.”

A boyish giggle fell from Rudy’s mouth. “Wasn’t my fault the broad got drunk and started talking about babies and shit in the middle of the party, man.”

Jewel’s last night as a matchmaker was at a dinner party Jewel had coordinated to raise money for some local charity that Rudy couldn’t have given two shits about, though Jacob at least pretended to give one. Jewel suggested that Jacob invite Rudy to try and set him up with a “nice girl” to settle him down. There was an open bar and Rudy kept the girl’s glass topped off throughout the night. After five glasses of wine and the suggestion that they would make beautiful babies, Rudy winked at Jacob and sobbed through a series of insincere but convincingly tragic tears on the girl’s shoulder, crying about how he was sterile and could never have children of his own.

The two men retreated to the porch, beers in hand, to watch the endless parade of half naked girls strolling on the beach. Jacob made his living as an IT tech, working from home. It was the last Saturday of the month, and he was taking it off to relax and prepare for the party. He and Rudy talked and laughed until daylight went dusky. Then, Rudy left on a beer run, passing Jewel on his way out the door.

They hugged and exchanged kisses on the cheek before Rudy bounded off, assuring Jewel he’d be back in plenty of time, and that he would do his best to behave himself at the party. She laughed, nervous like always, smoothing a strand of Rudy’s especially unruly hair.

Rudy returned through the rear of the house 30 minutes later carrying three cases of beer. He introduced himself to the people he didn’t know and started piling the beer in the fridge in scattered rows as if he lived there.

Still standing by the fridge, Rudy popped open a beer and scanned the room for temporary mates, his face going bright as his eyes when they landed on a girl standing alone in the corner, nursing what he imagined was her first beer of the evening.

Jewel followed his gaze and rushed over to stand at his side. “Rudy…” she began.

“Oh, Jewel, can’t a boy have a little fun?” he said, wearing his most innocent expression.

Jewel said, “She just got out of horrible relationship. Be gentle.”

Rudy studied the girl’s demeanor for a beat then turned to Jewel. “I’ll show her a good time,” he smiled, winking at Jewel before skipping off to capture the girl’s attention.

“You gonna drink that or should I get you a nipple?” he said to the girl doing her best to get swallowed by the corner shadows. Rudy half cringed behind his bright smile, expecting a slap.

The girl laughed instead. “You’re not from around here,” she said, falling harder into her laugh. “That’s the first time I’ve heard that phrase since I left home.”

“And home would be?”

“Alabama.”

Rudy smiled. “I’m a Mississippi boy myself, but I’ll do my best to not hold it against you that you’re from ‘Bama. You’re obviously smarter than most. You did get out after all.”

Her face spread into an even wider smile, which went straight to her eyes and showed Rudy the awe of their color.

“You have incredible eyes,” he said, taking another swig of his beer and surveying the room as the crowd thickened.

She laughed again, pulling a longer swig from her own beer. “You know, a girl takes a compliment better when you act like you mean it.”

He was stunned, but only for a moment, quickly recovering and plastering his face with his winning smile. He looked straight in her eyes, then repeated, “You have incredible eyes.” He continued to stare for a full minute before swooping an arm around her waist and dipping her slightly as if they were finishing a waltz.

She laughed, deeply enough to make him feel a foot away from mission accomplished, then caught her breath, “Do you always do ridiculous things to make women want to know more about you?”

“Only when I want to know more about them,” he said, gesturing toward the balcony. “Want to step outside for a while? It’s getting noisy in here, and crowded.”

She agreed and they parted the crowd together on their way to the door. The lonely girl with the pretty laugh fished in her small purse and pulled out a pack of smokes and a lighter, then leaned her back to the banister and blew out a cloud of blue. “Why are they all so fake?” she said, mostly to herself, staring inside at the room full of people talking and laughing.

“Ah, not all of ‘em are. It’s just that sometimes you have to kick in the front door to get to the kitchen.” Rudy looked off into the dark waves, cresting under the moon glow.

She scoffed, then turned to share the view. They stood for a few long moments before either felt the need to speak. She finally broke the silence, announcing that she was getting to get another beer before slipping back through the doorway.

Rudy watched her full jeans stretch over her well formed, firm ass as she bent into the refrigerator to retrieve two beers, then turned back toward the ocean, pretending he wasn’t watching.

She returned and Rudy suggested they take a walk on the sand. She agreed and handed him the second beer.

They continued down the steps and onto the sand, silent. Rudy turned around to see Jewel’s gaze following them like a disapproving shadow. He raised his beer in a toast, smiled brightly, then turned back to Pretty Smile. “I never did catch your name,” he said.

“Victoria.”

“I’ll call you Tory,” he said taking another swig of beer. “I’m..”

“Rudy,” she interrupted. “Jewel told me to avoid you at all costs.”

He laughed. “But you didn’t.”

“I don’t like being told what to do,” she smiled.

Rudy laughed again. He liked her, a lot, and wondered if she was as feisty in the sack as she was in the sand. He turned toward her, then wrapped a strong arm around her waist, pulling her closer. He leaned in for a kiss and was half-shocked when she eagerly met him halfway.

A long, lingering moment later they parted faces, smiling.

Rudy liked her. She was interesting and fun, unlike the majority. They kept walking until the house was a memory behind them, then Rudy leaned in for another kiss. They stood against the rock wall lining the beach, swapping long, hard kisses.

After a while, Vitoria surfaced for air. “I…” she looked away almost as if she was embarrassed.

“Shhh,” Rudy said softly, pressing a single finger to her lips and reaching for the bottle in her hand. Setting both bottles at their feet, Rudy kissed up along the outside of her leg to where her skin met the corduroy of her khaki shorts.

Her tits rose and fell as her breath quickened with every lick of his hot lips across smooth skin. His hands rose up her inner thigh as her heart sped with sudden desire.

Rudy’s hands fluttered over her skin, drawing her into a flurry of gooseflesh. He stripped the worn tee shirt from his body, then flung it to the sand.

Unbuttoning her shirt with painfully slow movements, Rudy kissed each section of her freshly exposed skin, making his way to her waist. He unbuttoned her shorts, then slid his hand inside her damp panties, and ran a finger along her sticky crease.

Moaning his excitement, Rudy’s lips found hers. They lingered, his hand massaging her clit as her hand explored the unfamiliar thin body beneath her soft hands.

Tory gasped as his finger found the top of the tiny ball and started rubbing it softly in lazy circles, causing her to jump involuntarily. Her hips found his rhythm as she rocked her tender skin against his calloused hand.

Victoria found the button and zipper on his loose shorts, then slid them to a puddle at Rudy’s ankles, wrapping her silky soft hand around his hard cock, and drawing him closer to her.

The heat between them was excruciating. Their chests rose and fell in unison as they rocked with the rhythm from one another’s movements. Seconds later, Victoria’s first release of hot juices was flowing between his fingers.

Victoria’s stomach vibrated as her muscles tightened further through each new wave of pleasure. Rudy moaned as her hand tightened around his cock.
