Cherishing Destiny (A Dangerous Destiny) (30 page)

Sara’s orgasm was coming fast, and she could feel Aurora
arching and knew that she was close too.  She didn’t want to come alone, and
she took Alex’s cue and slid her fingers into Aurora, who was wet and ready, as
well.  Alex still had her nipple in his teeth, teasing and biting, so Sara took
the other one in her mouth, sucking and flicking her tongue over the hard
button.  Sara and Aurora both let their climax’s build to an explosion and then
rode them, wave after wave while they cried out and gasped.

Alex released both women as they were coming down, still breathing
hard.  The women opened their beautiful eyes to gaze at him in their languid
state.  Then they both pushed him onto his back, Sara climbing over to get on
the other side of him.  Aurora was toying with his nipples and Sara was teasing
the head of his swollen cock with her tongue.  She slipped it into her mouth
and sucked him gently.  He was so huge she could barely take him in.  She
grasped the base of his engorged rod and Aurora could see her struggle to take
more of him.  She urged Sara away and traded places with her.

Alex drew Sara up to his face with one huge, strong hand
grasping her bottom.  He plundered her mouth with his tongue, and she gave
herself over to this pleasure that she was better suited for.

Aurora took over where Sara left off.  She didn’t need to breath
and was able to take Alex deep into her throat.  She stroked his tight package
and grasped the base of his thick shaft with her hand while she moved up and
down on the end, with her wet lips and open mouth.

Alex was groaning into Sara’s mouth.  He squeezed her
bottom hard enough to leave marks that would be visible tomorrow, but it only
made Sara wet all over again and she plunged her tongue deeper into his mouth.
He pushed out his fangs and bit her, filling both their mouths with blood.
Before Sara could start gagging, he drank the warm gush of her essence and grew
ferocious in his passion.  He clutched at Sara and thrust at Aurora until he could
no longer contain himself.  His seed, which he knew was no longer dead, gushed
forth, and Aurora was ready to receive it.

Aurora agreed that he did taste like blood as Sara once
thought.  Aurora swallowed his seed as he swallowed Sara’s blood and they all soon
collapsed in spent passion.   They lay in each other’s arms touching gently
again.

Sara stroked Alex’s still semi-hard rod with her
fingertips, longingly.  He meant what he said in the cellar at the farm and had
never made love to her, but he was wrong about one thing.  It did matter to
her.  She loved Aurora and Alex both, but Alex told her back then that he only
loved Aurora.  So, Sara kept a careful wall between herself and Alex and let
herself indulge in Aurora’s affections instead.  But, she couldn’t help longing
for him to fill her with his manhood and she never stopped thinking about the
future when they might have time to explore his darkness again.  It scared and
excited her at the same time.

She knew Alex wasn’t making love to Aurora either.  Aurora
said it was too uncomfortable with the baby and his size.  Sara wished she
could fill that void for him, but she would never ask that of them.  She didn’t
know that Aurora had been encouraging Alex to give in to the desire to make
love to Sara.

“I love her and I know that you love her too,” she said.
“You always told me that you didn’t make love to other women because it is an
expression of your love, so why won’t you express your love for Sara?  Are you
trying to deny it?”

“I am not ready to face loving anyone but you,” he
answered. “Please, give me time and I promise to think about it.”

So, Sara longed for Alex  quietly, but was pretty happy
otherwise, so she didn’t rock the boat.  Besides, Ryan wasn’t gone all that
often, so they didn’t get the chance to truly be like that together too frequently.
Her thoughts stayed with Ryan for a moment, and she hoped that he was able to
convince Lily to help Aurora deliver.

Lily, who was still excited by the prospect of delivering a
Vampire baby, joined Ryan in beseeching the Alpha to allow Aurora to deliver in
the settlement.

Ryan reasoned, “If I get her now, she is still strong
enough to make it.  She has at least three weeks left if she doesn’t deliver
early.”  He looked to Lily for back up.

“I can’t deny that part of me just wants to be the first
one to ever see a Vampire baby,” she said, looking directly at Elvis.  But
before he could answer, she turned and pulled Kate into her gaze. “No Vampire
has ever had a baby before and she will be scared and alone out there. None of
them has any experience.”

Kate was looking at Elvis now, and he could feel her caving
to the pleas of the favored youths.  He grumbled and stood, pacing in his
kitchen, “Can’t you all be quiet for one minute and let a man think?”  They all
remained silent, but he could feel the three of them staring anxiously at him.

He met Alex and Aurora and liked them.  He was treated with
the utmost respect by the elder Vampires, and he had sympathy and understanding
for their situation.  It didn’t hurt that McPherson had said pretty respectful
things about Alex before he had been arrested by Gates.  And, Alex’s first concern
upon meeting Elvis and the L.T. was the condition of Mac if they knew it.
Unfortunately, they did not.  As far as they knew he had not been executed yet,
but he had not been heard from since being taken prisoner nearly half a year
ago.

Elvis looked over the trio of
Weres
in his kitchen
and saw that Kate was starting to get that –shit or get off the pot—look on her
face.  “Alright.  You can bring her here to have the baby, but Lily, she is
your responsibility, and she stays with you. No wandering around.”  He coughed
in his fist as they all smiled and Lily and Kate hugged him.

“What about Alex and Sara?” Ryan asked.

“Oh, no.  Sara, maybe, only because she’s your step-sister.
But, I don’t want Lake walking around here for three weeks making everybody
nervous.”

“They are both feeding on her,” Ryan said quietly with a
flush.  “I don’t think either of them could go three weeks without feeding.”

“I never thought of that.” Elvis was pacing again and
rubbing his forehead that was wrinkled from the stress.

“I have human blood,” Lily said.

They all stopped and looked at the pregnant
Were
,
question marks obvious in their expressions.

“O-neg is a universal donor, even works for
Weres
.”
I have a cellar under the house for cold storage.  Works pretty well especially
in this weather, so I keep a supply on hand for emergencies.  Tyler brings it
to me when he can find it to keep my stock rotated.” She looked at all of their
faces as they remained silent.  “What?!” she demanded. “The stuff used to sit
in plain sight in the glass front refrigerator that was in my exam room before
we lost power.”

Elvis shook his head as if clearing cobwebs. “Fine,” he
said. “That means we are back to the original plan.  Aurora comes here to
Lily’s place, and Alex and Sara will have to stay at the lodge until Aurora is
ready to deliver.  We will send someone to fetch them when it’s time, and they
can come for a day or so. Will that suit everyone?”  He didn’t wait for an
answer before he said, “Good. That’s settled. Now, I have things to do.”  He
left the room, and they heard the front door close behind him.

Ryan looked at Kate. “Drinks with the L.T.?” he guessed.
She laughed and nodded.

“Nobody laugh or I might just have to rip somebody’s head
off,” Ryan growled. He stood naked in the snow just outside of Lily’s back
porch and prepared to shift so that he could pull the sled that he rigged up.
He made it like a dog sled, but the harness was such that he could just duck
his head through, and it would pull across his chest, and he could just as
easily disengage himself from it if need be.

Lily, Tyler, Elvis, Kate and Stephan were standing around
covering their mouths and shaking with silent laughter.  “Ryan the sled dog,”
Tyler quipped and barely ducked in time to avoid the big hand that swiped
across the space his head had just occupied.

Ryan grumbled and threw his pack on the sled.  “I’ll be
back tomorrow,” he said.  He changed to wolf and ducked his head into the
harness, running off immediately before he had to endure any more teasing.

Tyler watched the black shape shrink in the distance,
squinting against the brightness of the snow even though the day was overcast.

Kate was holding Elvis’s arm, and she observed, “These are
such strange times we are living in.” Elvis patted her hand, and they headed
back toward home.

Stephan was talking to Lily in a quiet voice, and she
smiled shyly and blushed as he leaned over to listen to her twins.  His hands
were on either side of her enormous belly, and his cheek was pressed to the
curve at the top.

He was right in front of her face, and she breathed in the scent
of his hair, closing her eyes and daydreaming that he could be hers.  When he
lifted his head to look at her, his broad smile sent an electric shock through
her body warming her loins.  She wanted him so badly, and she needed to get
away from him right now before she made a fool of herself.  She made excuses
and headed to her greenhouse.

Stephan frowned a little at her back, but watched her until
she closed the door behind her.  He sighed and walked over to Tyler, patting him
on the back and urging him back to the settlement to make use of himself.

Ryan made good time, even pulling the sled.  He was back at
the lodge by mid-afternoon, and he only had to stop twice to right the sled
when the lack of weight on it left it flying over bumps and overturning.

When he explained the sled and the situation to them, they
were reluctant.  “Look, this was the best I could do.  I think it’s a
reasonable compromise, considering that it is just not going to be possible to bring
Lily here.  She could deliver at any time, as well.  She says it’s not unusual
for twins to come early.” He was talking to all of them, but he was kneeling in
front of Aurora, who was sitting on the hearth.  As usual his hands were
protectively covering her swollen belly.  He leaned close and murmured
something to the baby.

Aurora didn’t know if it was nonsense or if he was speaking
a different language to her.  She spoke several languages, but they were mostly
European, and what he was muttering could have been a Native American tongue
from the sound.  Because, Sara went by the name of Walker, having been adopted
by Ryan’s father, Aurora always forgot that Ryan’s real last name was Four
Walker.  She contemplated his possible heritage.  She was tired of talking about
her pregnancy and like most women in their last month, she was ready for it to
be over.  So, she let her mind wander, thinking about Ryan and his father until
Alex’s angry voice brought her back to the present.

“That is not acceptable,” Alex was saying. “I need to be
with her, what if something happens to her? Who will protect her?”

“I will protect her.” Ryan answered looking up from her
stomach. “She is at much greater risk if we stay here and try to deliver this
baby ourselves.  What if the birthing goes badly?”

Alex grumbled petulantly. “Aurora will heal like a Vampire,
she is not going to bleed out or anything.”

Ryan’s eyes flew wide. “And, what about the baby? Do you
know if she will heal too? You would risk the baby’s life?”

Aurora grasped Ryan’s face in her hands, turning his head
to look in her eyes. “Stop,” she said quietly, but firmly.   She looked up at
Alex and repeated herself. “Stop.” She stood, disengaging herself from Ryan and
went to Alex.  She put a hand on his cheek and said, “this baby is important to
me and I would feel safer in Lily’s experienced hands. I promise that the minute
I feel as if the time is coming, Ryan will send Tyler or come himself to bring
you to me.”

“You know I will.” Ryan said. “I swear it.”

Sara approached and placed a gentle reassuring hand on
Alex’s arm. “Please,” was all she said.

Alex looked from Sara to Aurora and pulled them both into a
tight embrace. “I couldn’t stand it if anything happened to you.”  He was
speaking to Aurora, but somewhere deep inside, he was beginning to feel as if
he meant it about both of them.

In the morning, Aurora insisted that she wanted to walk for
a little while, at least, and she used the snowshoes to follow along after the
sled.  Earlier, Ryan had gone out to hunt something to leave for Sara. Aurora
took the opportunity to say her goodbyes to Sara and Alex.

“I wish you were coming with me, but I will see you soon.
I’m sure of it.”  They had stripped naked so that they could lie together in
the bed touching bare skin to bare skin.  They weren’t getting sexual, but they
placed soft kisses on each other and exchanged assurances.  “Take care of each
other,” Aurora said, brushing strands of hair back from Sara’s face, but looked
at Alex as she said it.

He ran his fingertips lightly down the length of her arm
until he gripped her hand in his. “I love you,” he said looking back at her.

Sara felt her stomach clench and her eyes began to swim
with un-shed tears. At this moment, she felt like an intruder and her heart
ached with it.
