4-lb. boneless pork spareribs

½ cup brown sugar

¼ cup ketchup

¼ cup white vinegar

1 garlic clove, minced

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. pepper

2 Tbsp. soy sauce

15-oz. can spiced cling peaches, cubed, with juice

1. Cut ribs in serving-size pieces and brown in broiler or in saucepan in oil. Drain. Place in slow cooker.

2. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over ribs.

3. Cover. Cook on Low 8-10 hours.

Barbecued Ribs

2½ cups barbecue sauce

¾ cup cherry preserves,

jam

1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard

1 garlic clove, minced

1½ tsp. pepper

1. Cut ribs into serving-size pieces.

2. Place rib pieces in slow cooker.

3. Combine all other ingredients in a mixing bowl.

4. Pour sauce over ribs. If you’ve stacked the ribs, be sure that all are topped with sauce.

5. Cover. Cook 6-8 hours on Low, or until ribs are tender but not dry.

Sesame Pork Ribs

1 medium onion, sliced

¾ cup packed brown sugar

¼ cup soy sauce

½ cup ketchup

¼ cup honey

2 Tbsp. cider,
or
white, vinegar

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp. ground ginger

¼-½ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes

5 lbs. country-style pork ribs

1. Place onions in bottom of slow cooker.

2. Combine brown sugar, soy sauce, ketchup, honey, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes in large bowl. Add ribs and turn to coat. Place on top of onions in slow cooker. Pour sauce over meat.

3. Cover. Cook on Low 5-6 hours.

Serving suggestion: Place ribs on serving platter. Sprinkle with toasted
sesame seeds
and chopped
green onions
. Serve sauce on the side.

Barbecued Pork and Beef Sandwiches

1 cup onion, finely chopped

2 cups green pepper, finely chopped

6-oz. can tomato paste

½ cup brown sugar

¼ cup cider vinegar

1 Tbsp. chili powder

1 tsp. salt

2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp. dry mustard

1 tsp. hot sauce

1½ lbs. lean stewing beef

1½ lbs. lean pork cubes

1. Blend all ingredients, except beef and pork in slow cooker.

2. When thoroughly mixed, stir in beef and pork pieces.

3. Cover. Cook 8 hours on Low.

4. Stir to shred meat before serving.

Serving suggestion: Serve in
sandwich buns
or
pita bread
, or over
rice
.

2 cups chopped onions

3 green peppers, chopped

6-oz. can tomato paste

1½ Tbsp. chili powder

1 tsp. dry mustard

2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

2 tsp. salt

1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.

2. Cover. Cook on High 8 hours.

3. Shred meat with fork. Mix into sauce and heat through.

Serving suggestion: Serve on
hamburger buns
with grated
cheese
and
cole slaw
on top.

Variation:

Substitute cubed chuck roast or stewing beef for the pork, or use half beef, half pork.

Try to have vegetable and meat pieces all cut about the same size and thickness.

1. Place meat in slow cooker. Add onions, barbecue sauce, and honey.

3. Use 2 forks to shred meat.

Serving suggestion: Serve on
sandwich rolls
with sauce.

Slow-Cooked Pork Barbecue

3-4-lb. boneless pork loin roast

1½ tsp. seasoned salt

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 cup barbecue sauce

1 cup cola, regular,
or
diet

1. Cut roast in half. Place both halves in slow cooker.

2. Sprinkle with salt and garlic powder.

3. Cover. Cook 4 hours on Low.

4. Remove meat.

5. Skim fat from broth remaining in slow cooker.

6. Shred pork using 2 forks.

7. Return shredded pork to slow cooker.

8. Combine barbecue sauce and cola in a small bowl.

9. Pour over meat.

10. Cover. Cook on High 1-2 hours, or until heated through and bubbly.
