Whatever you do, don't sell that gin tub; there isn't quite the same market for homemade “juice” as there was during Prohibition, but that doesn't mean you can't still cash in. Troll the Internet for tips on perfecting your own recipe — and remember, people love the appeal of a secret ingredient.

If there is a mondo hill anywhere on your property, you've got an instant way of making cash (assuming you live somewhere where it snows — sorry Arizonians). For some extra cash you can also rent out sleds, charge for use of your bathroom, and sell hot cocoa (spiked for the parents).

How many times has someone proclaimed “nerd!” when walking into your house? Yeah, it's time to get rid of those comic books. Don't get hosed though; if someone offers to buy them all for a lump sum make sure there aren't any gems hiding in the pile before forking them over.

Mundane tasks like transcribing audiotapes need to be done by somebody, so why not you? If you get really good, you can even multitask and watch TV while you're typing — just make sure to review before submitting for any errors or subliminal messages that found their way into the doc.

While many of the typist jobs are being outsourced these days, you can still find plenty of people (especially closeted technophobes and people with awful keyboard skills) willing to pay to have their handwritten documents typed up.
