“After you have emptied the safes, you are to head back to the hotel and leave all of the bags inside of your room. Then, take your rental back to the airport and head back to the City in the Tahoe. I'll be in contact with you no later than four p.m. tomorrow afternoon. Do not try to contact me. Check your accounts by noon, and everything should be completed. Once again, do not try to contact me, because I will be dark for the time being.”

“Good luck, gentlemen!”

The television screen then went blank.

Taz smiled and said, “In and out, just like that!” He snapped his fingers.

“I can dig it, my nigga! Damn, look at the fuckin' size of these bags! I can see why we're gettin' broken off so much for this shit. That nigga Won is gon' make a killin' tonight,” said Keno.

“Yeah, and so are we,” Taz said as he started to check and recheck their weapons.

As Taz drove toward the jewelry store, his mind was on Sacha.
Damn! Maybe it's time to get out of this shit. I can't be havin' my Li'l Mama stressed the fuck out every time I do me. Am I being selfish or what? Just hold me down a li'l more, Li'l Mama, and I promise, I'm gone make everything all right,
he thought to himself as he pulled in back of the jewelry store. He parked the Tahoe and climbed out, followed by Keno. They met the rest of the crew at the back door as they checked their watches. It was one forty-five a.m. exactly. They had ten minutes to get the money, and fifteen minutes total to be in and out of the store.

Taz took a deep breath and entered the store, followed by his homeboys. They were each designated a safe. Taz went to the first safe; Keno went to the next one, followed by Bob, who went to the third. Wild Bill went to the fourth, Bo-Pete went to the fifth one, and Red to the last safe.

When Keno had his safe open, he smiled and said, “Damnit, man! Look at all of these fuckin' chips!”

“Nigga, we ain't got time for lookin'! Clean that muthafucka out so we can get the fuck out!” whispered Red.

Each safe was filled to it's capacity with nothing but money. Taz couldn't believe his eyes as he quickly filled his bag. When he finished, he checked the time and said, “Seven minutes, gentlemen! How we lookin'?”

“I'm done,” said Red.

“Me too,” said Bob.

“Almost,” said Bo-Pete.

“Done,” said Keno.

“Got it,” said Wild Bill.

“Good. Let's get the fuck outta here,” Taz said as he led the way out of the jewelry store.

They made it back to the trucks without difficulty and departed just as quickly as they came. Mission completed.

Taz smiled as Keno drove them back to Oklahoma City in the Tahoe that Won had arranged for them. Bo-Pete and Wild Bill were in the back of the truck, sleeping, while Bob and Red watched Keno's damn
Scarface
DVD on the screen that was mounted on the seat's headrest. After they had dropped off the duffel bags full of money, they quickly stashed their weapons back under the bed and departed from the Doubletree.

Now that they were safely out of Houston and headed back home, Taz had to call Sacha. Even though it was close to four in the morning, he wanted to let her know that he was all right and on his way back home.

Sacha answered the phone on it's first ring. “Hello.”

“What's up, Li'l Mama? What you doing up this late?” asked Taz.

“I was going over some files for my trial in the morning. How are you?”

“I'm good.”

“Where are you?”

He laughed and said, “On the highway. I'm on my way home. I should be there by the time you're leaving to go to work.”

Sacha smiled a relieved smile and said, “That's good. So, I guess everything went accordingly?”

“Always. I told you, Li'l Mama, every single move is calculated to a tee.”

“Thank God! Good night, baby. I have to get some sleep, and now that I know you're all right, I'll be able to sleep peacefully.”

“I know. That's why I called. I love you, Li'l Mama!”

“I love you, too, baby!”

After Taz closed his cell, he smiled as he relaxed back in his seat.

Red said, “You know what was the only fucked-up thing about this mission, dog?”

Taz turned around in his seat and asked, “What was that, gee?”

“We gots to drive all the way back out to fuckin' Dallas to get my truck!”

Bob started laughing and said, “
We
ain't got to do a muthafuckin' thang, partner!
Your
ass is on your own!”

They all started laughing as Keno drove on.

Chapter Twenty-four

Tazneema stepped out of the shower and walked into Clifford's bedroom with a towel wrapped around her. She smiled when she saw that he had left a note for her on his pillow. She let her towel fall to the floor as she quickly went to the bed and opened the letter.

Good morning, beautiful!

I'm sorry that I had to run off, but I was afraid that if I stayed and waited for you to finish your shower, I wouldn't have been able to make it to work this morning. (Smile!) No, seriously, I have a nine o'clock meeting that I can't be late for. I hope I'll see you this evening.

I really wish you would give some deep consideration on moving in with me. I love it when I open my eyes and the first sight I see is your lovely face. I know it'll be difficult for you with school and all, but for me, please give it some thought.

Bye, for now. Give me a call when you get out of class.

Love always, Cliff.

“Ooh, that's so sweet!” she said and began to get dressed.

Ever since their first night of lovemaking, Tazneema made it a point that Clifford made love to her at least twice every other day. She may have been a late starter, but now she considered herself a veteran. She had even given Clifford some head, and that was something that she thought she would never do. She smiled as she thought back to how excited Clifford's face looked the first time she had sucked his dick. Seeing him so happy made her feel even prouder of the fact that she could satisfy him. She was in love, and she wanted the world to know it. She knew that she would catch hell from Taz and Mama-Mama, but so what?
This is my life, and it's about time I started living it my way,
she thought to herself as she finished getting dressed. She had a man now, and they were just going to have to accept that fact.

Taz was breathing heavily as he climbed out of his swimming pool. He had just completed forty laps, and he was tired. He chose to push himself today, because he knew that any day now Won would be summoning them for the upcoming three-week mission. The thought of getting close to two hundred million was enough incentive for him. He didn't want to stress the crew, but something in the back of his head told him to make sure that he was on top of his game. Even though he trusted Won with his life, something about this next mission just didn't sit right with him.

He thought back to Won's words a few weeks ago, when he had told him that it was almost time for the finale.
Finale . . . finale to what?
he asked himself as he finished drying himself off.

He went upstairs to his bedroom and decided to give Mama-Mama a call. After speaking with his mother for a few minutes, he hung up and called Tari at work. “What up, Tee? You busy?”

“Not really, Taz, How are you?”

“I'm good. Look, can we get together after you get off? I really need to holla at you about some things.”

“Sure. Do you want me to come over, or do you want to meet me someplace?”

“Yeah, let's meet at the Olive Garden, on me.”

She laughed and said, “Oh, but of course! Tell me, is everything still going okay with you and Sacha?”

“Yeah, we're good. What I want to talk to you about doesn't concern her. It's more about Won.”

“I see. All right then, I'll see you there around six?”

“That's good. And thanks, Tee.”

“Don't thank me, joker. You know I'll always be there for you when you need me.”

He smiled into the receiver and said, “Yeah, I know. Bye.”

After he hung up the phone, he went and took a shower, still wondering exactly what the fuck he was tripping for. Won had never let him down before, so there was no reason for him to be second-guessing him now . . . or was there?

Tazneema called Clifford right after she left her last class for the day. “Hi, baby! What ya doing?” she asked as soon as Clifford answered his cell phone.

“Nothing much. I've just finished arranging a few meetings with some new clients, that's all. Just another boring day at the office. How about you? How was your day?”

“The same. I've just left my last class for the day, and I'm starving. Are you cooking tonight, or are we going out to eat?”

“Whatever you want, beautiful, you know that,” he said sincerely.

She smiled and said, “Okay, I want some of your special pork chops and rice, with some buttered mixed vegetables.”

“So be it! What time should I be expecting you?”

“I'm going to go get changed and pack me a light bag. Then I'm going to go see Mama-Mama for a little bit. Then I'll be there. So, be expecting me around seven. Is that okay?”

“You know it is, baby. I'll see you then.”

“Okay, bye!” she said and pressed the END button on her cell. She jumped into her car, as happy as can be.
It feels real good having someone special to share your life with,
she thought as she drove toward her apartment complex.

“Damn! Baby, I'm loving them new knockers!” Bob yelled excitedly.

“Come on, baby, don't play with me. Do you really like them? They don't look too big, do they?” asked Gwen as she stared down at her chest.

“I wouldn't tell you they looked tight if they didn't look tight. I can't wait to get them inside of my mouth.”

She smiled as she continued to stare at her breasts. Bob had remained true to his word and paid the seventy-five hundred dollars it had cost for her new breast implants. It took three and a half hours, and now here she was with a brand-new look. They had driven down to Dallas earlier that morning with a noon appointment. Now that they were finally finished, she couldn't wait to get back home. She wanted to know what Sacha thought about her new chest size. She was happy as hell that Bob seemed to love them, but she really needed to know what her girl thought, 'cause if Sacha didn't like them, she was coming back and getting them reduced immediately. She didn't want to look foolish to her best friend. Sacha's judgment was very important to her.

Ever since she had dropped out of college, she had always felt as if she had become inferior to Sacha. Once she went back to school and had gotten her degree, she thought she had leveled the playing field between them, but somehow over the years, she never overcame the insecurity she felt around Sacha. Even though she loved her as a sister, she just couldn't rid herself of those feelings.

“Come on, baby, let's get back to the City. I can't wait to show off my girl's new titties!”

“Bob, I'm still sore. It's going to be some time before I can go out. I can't even wear a bra yet.”

“Don't trip, baby. You don't need no damn bra, anyway. Look how firm them thangs are. Shit, you're standing at attention, baby, and I want to show them joints off!” Bob said and started laughing.

Gwen laughed also and said, “You're crazy, nigga!” But with renewed confidence, she said, “If you want to show me off, baby, who am I to try and stop you? Come on, let's go home.”

They left the doctor's office hand in hand, and with smiles on both of their faces.

Taz smiled as he watched Tari coming toward his table
. She's still one sexy white broad,
he thought, standing as she sat down. “What's up, Tee?” he asked after he had taken his seat again.

“Nothing much, really. You know, the same ol' same. What's up with you? That's the question.”

“I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and it's like I'm confused and shit.”

“About what?”

“Everything.”

Tari laughed and said, “Please, be a little more specific.”

Taz then told her of his doubts about the upcoming mission, and how he had never doubted Won before, and how strongly he felt for Sacha. “Basically, this shit is all about her, I guess. Won has never given me a reason to ever doubt him, but now I am. He's made us all millions, and now just because I done fell in love, I'm starting to doubt my nigga. This shit is crazy. You know how I get down. I'm always cautious. But now that I have Sacha in my life, I'm spooked that something might jump off backward, and I'll lose everything.”

Tari smiled at her friend, her ex-lover, and said, “Love is a bitch, baby. But answer this for me. Do you still trust Won?”

“With my life,” he said seriously.

“Do you want to stop doing you?”

“I've been thinking about it a lot lately.”

She shook her head and asked again, “Do you want to stop?”

“Sacha becomes a nervous wreck every time I go out of town.”

“What? She knows what you do?” Tari asked incredulously.

He smiled and nodded yes. “Yeah, we kinda got into a jam when we were in L.A., and Won had to bail us out,” he said and told Tari all about what had happened when he and Sacha were in Los Angeles.

“Damn! This is deeper than I thought. Okay, but back to my question. Do you want to stop? Not because of Sacha, but because of you. This all revolves around your decisions, Taz. It's all about what you want. Either you do or you don't. When you can answer that question, everything else will fall right into place for you.”

“Damn, how did you get to be so fuckin' smart?”

“I've been in this game a long time, Babyboy,” she said, trying her best to impersonate Won's deep voice.

Taz laughed and said, “Yeah, I guess you have, huh?” He then waved for a waitress to come so they could order.

After the waitress had taken their orders, Tari said, “You need to hurry and find that answer, baby. All of you guys' lives will be at stake until you do. Don't take the chance by putting off what needs to be known.”

Taz stared directly into her eyes and said, “I won't.”
