Chapter 13

Ava

“Ms. Cummings, mind if I come in?”

This man standing at my door dressed in a cheap suit from Men's Warehouse and smelling of cheap cologne, could only mean he is 5-0, but why the fuck was he at my door.

“Who wants to know?” I asked crossing my arms over my chest. It was a much needed distraction, because Ayce was laying it on thick, but nothing good could come of this visit.

“I am Detective Kojak and I need to ask you and Mr. Thomas here some questions.”

Detective Kojak couldn't be no older than 26. He was a tall, thin white man with dirty-blonde hair and piercing eyes.

Ayce glared at Detective Kojak as he continued to talk.

“You got a problem Mr. Thomas?”

“Just ask what you came to ask so you can leave.”

“Ms. Cummings, an anonymous source told us that you were involved in a shooting two days ago that landed you here.”

“Anonymous source huh,” I said.

“Tell me, Ms. Cummings, who shot you?”

“Shouldn't you get that information from your anonymous source?” I said smirking at him.

“What relationship do you have with Duce?”

“Who is Duce and what does he have to do with me?” I asked getting irritated.

Kojak chuckled as if he knew something I didn't.

“I know Duce, AKA Rolando Cummings is your father. He has a casino over on Northfield and has his hands in some other things. Do you happen to know who Rino or Slick is?

“No, should I?”

“Don't know yet. A missing person’s report has been filed for both of them. Both men are on your father’s payroll and both men disappeared after being seen with you.”

I lay in the bed listening to Kojak trying to probe for answers and catch me slipping, but I am on my game.

“So what point are you trying to make?”

“No point at the moment, but I will be in touch,” Kojak said, pulling out his card and giving one to me and another to Ayce.

“Where were you two days ago, Mr. Thomas?”

Ayce looked the detective dead in his eyes, showing him he wasn't moved by his line of questioning.

“Minding my business,” he said sternly.

The detective chuckled again like we were putting on a show for him.

“Ok, well like I said, I will be in touch.”

I watched as Kojak walked out of the room and closed the door behind him.

“Can you believe that shit? What did he think he was going to accomplish coming up in here? Trying to get me to snitch on my daddy,” I said, climbing out of my bed and almost falling to the floor.

Ayce grabbed me around my waist making sure I didn't fall.

I turned and looked him in his eyes. He was a sexy ass nigga for real, but I doubted he could handle the person I have become. He had goals and ambitions in school and shit. My goals and ambitions were to follow in my daddy’s footsteps. I know he didn't want that for me, but the streets run through my blood.  I looked at Ayce and my heart fluttered. No matter how hard I tried to deny it I was drawn to him. He was giving me another chance, the chance I have wanted for a long time now, but I didn't know if I could be the woman he wants me to be. I thought about him every night, but knew I couldn't stay at home and play Susie Homemaker when there was a whole world out there that was waiting for me to take it over.

“So you think you can handle a relationship with me? It ain't going to be a walk in the park, I’mma tell you that now.”

“Oh, I can handle it alright,” Ayce said leaning in for a kiss. We got lost in the moment and I started to take his clothes off.

“I need to feel you,” I said reaching for his dick. I didn't care that I was in the hospital, I was horny as fuck and needed some dick. I could see the hesitation in his eyes, but he didn't say anything, just proceeded to give me what I needed. Untying my hospital gown, he let it fall to the floor while he played with my nipples. As he gently placed me back on the bed, I opened my legs wide to receive him.

Sliding his dick in, he went slow at first making sure he wasn't hurting me, before he dug into my pussy.

“Ayce baby, Yesssssssss,” I yelled out in ecstasy. Ayce no doubt had the best dick I ever had. The more he dug my pussy out the more I moaned. He put his hand over my mouth in effort to quiet me down, but the shit felt too good to me.

“This my pussy right?” he asked as an orgasm ripped through my body.

“Yes it's your pussy Ayce, it's all yours.”

“That's right, this shit is mine and you better not give it to anybody else,” Ayce said as he was emptying his seeds deep inside my pussy.

I was spent. This nigga just really put it down so good that I done told him this pussy was his and it was, as well as my heart. I just hope I don’t fuck the shit up. We lay in the small hospital bed together, until we both dozed off to sleep.

Chapter 14

Detective Kojak

I just graduated the police academy five months ago and ever since I got hired, I have been given one bullshit case after another. I mean cold cases, cases nobody else wanted and cases that had no leads at all. I understand I'm the rookie, but all I need is a damn break.

Headed out the door to go to lunch, my phone starts to ring.

“Detective Kojak, there's a young lady down here that says she witnessed a murder, you want me to send her up?”

“No, I'll come down to get her.”

Walking down the stairs I could just about imagine what this person is about to tell me.

Walking over to the desk I notice that I don't see anyone sitting in the waiting area.

“Hey Donna, who wants to see me?” I ask.

“The girl walking toward the door.”

I ran over to the young lady to try and stop her.

“Excuse me, excuse me Miss, did you need to talk to me?”

“I changed my mind now,” she said as she continued to walk toward the door.

“Miss, I apologize that you had to wait so long. I have just been very busy, but I am available now.”

She agreed to talk to me and I escorted her back up to my office.

“So ma'am, let’s start with your name.”

“I can't make a statement anonymously?”

“Sure you can. What do you need to tell me?”

“Well, I was following my boyfriend and I saw someone get shot.”

“Who?”

“I don't know his name, but I know the address.”

“Are they dead?”

“Yes.”

“Who shot this person?”

“Ava Cummings.”

I sat in silence for a moment. That name Cummings really got my attention. I fumbled through a few files on my desk before I came across the file labeled Rolando Cummings.

I took out a couple of photos so I could show them to her.

“Do you know this man?”

“That's Duce, Ava's father.”

“Have you ever seen him?”

“Yes, I see him a lot, but I'm here to talk about Ava.”

“Of course.”

“So where is Ava now?”

“Ayce took her, but I don't know where.”

“Why would Ayce take her?”

“Because she got shot, too.”

I could tell by the way Ms. Anonymous shifted in her seat she was tired of the questions and she was ready to go, but I had to see if she knew any of the other people in the other photos.

“We are almost finished here. Do you know any of these men?”

I showed her pictures of at least ten other men known to work for Rolando.

“I recognize a couple, but that one right there is the one Ava shot today.”

She pointed to a picture of Chris 'Slick' Davis.

“Can you write down the address of the house please, and that's all the questions I have for now. Call me if you come up with anything else.”

I couldn't believe it. I finally got a break in a case.

After a lot of phone calls, I was able to track down Ava and guess who was with her? Jayce 'Ayce' Thomas. They were not too happy to see me, but I knew even through their hardcore demeanor, I was on to something big. I just had to put the many pieces to this puzzle together.

Chapter 15

Mia

“Ohhhhhhhh yes Duce, yes, yes, yes, right there daddy. I'm going to cum Duce! Yes, make me cum.”

The one thing I was going to miss for sure about Duce was his good ass dick. This nigga did things to my body I didn't even know how to put into words. He had me bent over the back of the couch holding on for dear life.

“Shit baby, I'm about to cum, pop that pussy Mia,” he said as he smacked my ass. “Squeeze that shit baby, shit.”

We both came and fell on the couch totally spent.

I heard my phone chime telling me I had missed a call. I got up from the couch and walked over to my phone that was sitting on the kitchen counter. I actually had ten missed calls all from Jasmine.

Walking upstairs, I could see that Duce beat me into the shower, so I pulled out something to wear for the day while I called Jasmine back.  With all the money this nigga has, I was tired of living in this two-bedroom, one-bathroom house in the hood. I have begged him countless times to please move me out of this hood and he just won't budge. It's all good though because when he is out of the picture, I'm buying the biggest house I can find far away from the hood.

“Something’s wrong Mia,” Jasmine said crying into the phone, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“What do you mean?”

“He's missing, nobody has seen or heard from him and that ain't like Slick at all.”

Fuck
, I thought to myself. I knew in my mind that if what Jasmine was saying was true, Slick was dead, but who the hell killed him?

This wasn't the type of news I was hoping for going to see my brother. I planned on having everything in line so when he came out, our family could finally be back on top. I only had about two months to get it together now.

“I will get to the bottom of it Jasmine, and as soon as I find out anything I will call you.”

“Please do Mia, I know I always talked about him not being shit, but he loved me the best way he knew how.”

I hung up the phone and sat in my thoughts for a moment. How the hell did Slick mess this up and wind up dead? From what he told me, he and Ava had a thing going on. Nothing serious, but they would mess around from time to time. He said all he had to do is call her and she would come running. I knew she was a hoe. Ain't no telling how many niggas she was messing around with for real.

“What you thinking about?” Duce asked as he walked out of the bathroom.

“I just talked to Jasmine and she is worried about Slick. Said she hasn't seen or talked to him in almost a week.”

One thing I wasn't able to do is get Duce to talk to me about shit that went on inside his business, rather it be the legit side or the street side.

“Really baby? I will keep my ear to the streets and see what's what. That nigga probably lying up in some ass,” he said with a chuckle giving me a kiss on the forehead.

I knew this nigga was lying because he never looks me in the eyes when he’s lying.

“Thanks baby, please don't forget to ask,” I said walking into the bathroom to get myself ready.

When I arrived at Grafton Correctional Institution, I still had to wait another two hours before I finally got to see him.

“Visitor for Maurice Douglas, you have thirty minutes,” one of the correction officers told me.

“Hey, brother,” I yelled excited to see him.

“What's good baby sister?”

I wanted to reach out and give him a hug, but we weren't allowed to touch.

“Let me know what's going on. How is our little plan coming along?”

“Well, Duce finally decided to put me in his will. Never did I think a drug dealer would have a will, but he got so much shit I guess it makes sense. I know everybody on his payroll, but I have yet to find out who his connect is.”

“I told you, you’re going to need Ava for that one.” I turned up my nose at the thought of Ava.

“Well I tried, but my plan didn't work and the nigga that was supposed to grab her for me is dead now, so I have to come up with something else.”

“Yo ass is hardheaded. I told you no harm is to come to Ava, but you just have to do things your way, right? It's been two years, over two years and all you had to do is get her on your side, so she will trust you. You would have all the info we needed if you just would've done what the fuck I said.”

I sat there with my arms crossed over my chest because I hated Ava with a passion and he knew it.

“You just want her for yourself. I don't give a fuck what happens to Ava. I wish the bitch would go kill herself.”

I knew my brother had a thing for Ava ever since he fucked her back when they were in school. But I could care less.

“I'm gonna need you to make this shit happen before I touch down, ight? It’s too late for you to even try to be buddy buddy with Ava. Just do what you have to do, but don't kill her.”

“Word is bond big bruh.”

“I hear you, you got five weeks so get to work,” Maurice said.

We talked about a couple other things before the CO announced it was time to leave.

Leaving Grafton, I thought about another way to get the information that I needed.
