A Sword for a Dragon (53 page)

“Indeed, Sir Dragon, too late and all thanks to you.”

Baz grunted and hefted Ecator in its scabbard. “Too late thanks to this sword!”

EPILOGUE

Far away in the chill catacombs of Padmasa, the news of the destruction of Sephis and the demise of the Mesomaster Gog Zagozt provoked rage among the High Ones.

An unusual meeting was held. In a single chamber, the Masters congregated. The psychic power in the room was so intense that even Mesomasters could stand it for no more than a few minutes at a time.

The problem in the East had grown worse. First at Tummuz Orgmeen and now in Ourdh, they had been defeated. The arrogant little city-states on the littoral of Argonath had become a menace. It was time that the Masters turned their resources to the task. It was time for the utter destruction of the Argonath.
