Addicted to You (35 page)

She stopped rambling when Rill parted her bottom cheeks and she felt his erection slide into the crack of her ass, feeling like a slick, hot poker.

“I told you it’s too late now,” Rill muttered. “You’re going to get it in the ass, all right. It should go easier on you this way. And there’s less chance I’ll lose control in this position.” Her eyes popped wide when she felt the slippery head of his penis probe her rectum. She was so eager to show him that she wasn’t afraid that she pushed back forcefully. Pain jolted through her, the concentrated force of it making her gasp.

Rill grunted and popped an ass cheek with his palm.

“If you don’t take it easy, Katie, I’m going to drill this hot little ass of yours and then find something to paddle it with.
Do you feel that?
” he grated out furiously. Katie didn’t have to guess what he meant. The first three inches of his cock throbbed in her ass. “That’s a stick of dynamite, angel. Quit playing with what you don’t understand.”

“All right, all right,” Katie mumbled aggrievedly.

Rill grunted as though he was in pain, which she supposed he was, in a way. “Does it still hurt?” he asked in a choked voice.

“No,” Katie whispered, which was true. The sharp jolt of pain had almost immediately dissipated. Now her entire consciousness was focused on the sensation of having a very large cock lodged in her ass.

She heard Rill swallow behind her. “Okay,” he began, his tone making her think of a character in an action-adventure movie who was gathering the troops before battle. “We’re going to take this nice and easy. I’m going to move slowly, but tell me if it—”

“Oh, go on, Rill, will you?”

He exhaled in obvious frustration and began to pump his hips. They both let out guttural groans at once. Even though he had to apply a firm pressure to make any headway, the lubricant did its job.

It was excruciating, Katie decided. He was taking his sweet time, holding her hip and thrusting back and forth, back and forth . . . no more than an inch each way. But with each pass, he sank deeper. The pressure felt intense where he stroked her, but it was causing nerve endings in both close and distant places in her body to throb with arousal. She moaned uncontrollably and he paused.

“Katie?”

“Yes?” she replied in a muffled voice.

“Are you . . . are you pinching your nipple?” he rasped.

She blinked open her eyes and glanced down.

“Uh . . . yeah,” she mumbled in surprise. She hadn’t realized she had been, but it was imperative to get some friction on some of the burning places in her body.

“Jaysus.” His fingers clutched at the flesh of her hip. Katie yelped in both excitement and slight discomfort when he thrust several inches farther into her. He paused, panting behind her. Feeling him throbbing in such an intimate place caused a fireworks show to start shooting off in her clit. As if Rill sensed the finale inside her body, he rasped behind her.

“Show me how you make yourself come, Katie.
Show me
,” he added roughly. Katie moved her hand between her thighs. She started to moan as Rill pistoned his cock in and out of her, still with short, electrical strokes, but more quickly now and with more force.

“There’s something I didn’t tell you out there in the living room,” he grated out behind her as his cock burrowed farther and farther into her body, and Katie tried to stop keening in order to better hear him. “I don’t want that fuckin’ Miles Fordham nosing around you anymore.”

“Ahhhh . . . huh?” Katie managed, curiosity barely penetrating her excitement. The stimulation of her fingers on her clit combined with anal penetration was sending her out into sexual orbit. When she finally came, it was going to be the mother of all orgasms. Rill didn’t protest this time when she began to bob her ass in counter-strokes to his thrusts.

His grip on her tightened, and Katie was held immobile for his possession. Her cry was obliterated by the sound of Rill’s harsh groan when his pelvis struck her buttocks. Katie forgot to move her fingers on her clit at the sensation of his full balls pressed tightly against her and his breath hitting her ear in jagged pants. He paused for a second, and for the first time, Katie experienced a moment of trepidation. It was like the moment before a powerful storm breaks.

Rill finally moved his head and spoke quietly next to her ear. “I don’t want that fuck Fordham nosing around you. I don’t want
anyone
nosing around you but me. I want people to know you’re mine, Katie. I wish I could mark you ....” He slid his cock out of her and back, his pelvis smacking against her ass. Whatever he was going to say was forgotten as they were both swept up in the incendiary moment.

Katie clutched at the bedding with her free hand. His groans of anguished arousal as they crashed together tore at her for some reason. His powerful possession scored her, but she could tell he held back in consideration for her. She wanted him to lose himself. The fact that he leashed himself made her hurt . . . and love him more.

“Come, Katie,” he said, emphasizing his demand by driving his cock into her ass and smacking against her buttocks.

Katie tipped over the edge. Orgasm slammed into her like a tidal wave, shaking her entire body. Distantly she was aware of Rill’s harsh grunt of triumph.

He began to thrust more forcefully as she shuddered in pleasure, racing to follow her into the climactic fires.

Her eyes sprung wide when their skin smacked together and he held her tight against him. She gritted her teeth at the sensation of his cock swelling in such a tight place. His harsh growl sounded a little ominous right next to her ear. It escalated to an agonized shout as he exploded. After a moment, he flexed his hips and thrust in and out of her with tight, forceful strokes. He continued to groan while he emptied himself inside her body.

After a moment, he slowed. He dropped his forehead against the side of her head. Katie loved the feeling of his harsh breath in her ear. She closed her eyes, feeling soothed by the way their bodies slowed in unison, their breaths evening in tandem, the tension leaking away from their ecstasy-scored muscles, leaving them limp and satiated.

“Are you all right?” he asked after several minutes.

“Yes,” she whispered.

“I couldn’t help myself, there at the end. I never knew a woman could get so hot.”

She turned her head and tried to see his face in the dim light.

“I didn’t want you to hold back.”

His nostrils flared slightly as he stared back at her. He stroked her from hip to waist. “You shouldn’t say things like that, Katie,” he said, his tone as gentle as his touch.

“Why?”

“Because now I’ll have to have you again,” he said.

Katie raised her lips to receive his kiss.

Twenty-four

Rill woke up the next morning to find Katie gone. He wondered
where she was. She’d told him that aside from her drop-in on the chinchilla lady yesterday, she wasn’t due to report into the community center for official duty until next week. His disappointment in her absence was slightly assuaged by the pink note he found stuck to the counter in the kitchen.

I ran into town to pick up a couple necessities. I’ll have a surprise for you when I get back!

Katie

He had become used to Katie being gone in the morning when he woke up, but this morning his disappointment was sharper than it had ever been. He found himself anticipating her return so much he had trouble concentrating enough to write. Every time he recalled the sober, sad expression on her face when he’d said he had no hold over her last night, a stab of pain went through him. It’d been like seeing a gray cloud fall over her summertime eyes. That was how he felt sometimes—like a pall on her effervescent spirit.

He’d just been stating the truth, though.

Hadn’t he?

All he knew was that he was looking forward to making her smile today... looking forward to it a lot. He stood up from his desk and found the bell that had fallen off during their lovemaking the other night. He was in the process of reattaching it to the ankle chain when he heard her car in the front drive.

Katie’s surprise ended up being a dozen brightly colored chrysanthemums, their pots dropping soil all over the soft red leather of her Maserati. She used to be fastidious about that car, but it seemed Vulture’s Canyon was having an effect on Katie in more ways than one.

She greeted him with a kiss that reminded him of sunshine and sex and he wasn’t sure what else. He was just getting into the groove of delving deeper into her mouth to discover that elusive mystery when Katie broke their kiss and informed him she needed to pee.

“I’ll be right back, I promise,” she said over her shoulder as she jogged toward the house. “Is there a spade in the shed I could plant the mums with? I was thinking they’d look so pretty right in front of the porch.”

She’d scurried away and still hadn’t come out of the house a half an hour later. Rill had gone out to the shed and found some rusty gardening tools. He planted three of the colorful flowers himself before he’d started to wonder what was keeping Katie. Upon inspecting what he’d done so far, he decided he was glad he’d fixed the porch posts. The old house looked a picture nestled there amid the fall foliage of the forest, the colorful yellow, dark red and orange flowers flaming against the backdrop of white paint.

He went inside to wash the dirt from his hands. When he shut off the water, he heard Katie’s voice in the distance. He couldn’t make out what she was saying, but something about her tone made him dry off his hands and move cautiously down the dim hallway. He paused a few feet outside the bathroom.

“Well, when is she coming back, Everett?” Katie demanded in a muffled voice. Rill had the impression she was agitated, but trying to keep her voice volume low. “No,
no
. . . She’s not answering her cell phone. I’ve tried a half a dozen times. Can you run over to Mrs. Addison’s and get her? Its two freaking blocks away, Everett. I don’t care about yours and dad’s damn t-time. I need to talk to Mom!” she cried out after a pause, her voice shaking. “No . . . no, I don’t want to tell you or Dad—”

Rill’s alarm had been growing by the moment. Jaysus, was this all because of what he’d said to her yesterday? She must have been far more upset than he’d thought. He was such a worthless piece of shit. When he heard a sob emanating from the bathroom, he flung open the bathroom door.

Katie spun around at the sound of the door hitting the jamb with force. Tears wet her unusually pale cheeks. She dropped what she held in her hand. It hit the tile floor with a clicking sound. He glanced down, stared, and then looked back up at Katie’s face in rising confusion.

“What are you doing with
that
?” he asked bluntly, pointing at what was undoubtedly a home-pregnancy test on the tile floor. His quick glance at the sink confirmed his suspicion when he saw the packaging for the test and the instruction sheet spread out on the counter.

Her cell phone had fallen away from her ear. Her lips were open, but she seemed incapable of speech as she gawked at him. Everett made up for her temporary muteness by shouting into the phone. Rill could hear him even through the ringing noise that had started up in his ears.

“Katie?
Katie?
Answer me. Is that Rill? What’s going on?”

Everett’s tiny, distant voice pierced his vibrating brain. “What’s going on?” Rill repeated, unable to come up with anything original on his own.

Katie’s mouth moved, but nothing came out at first. “I . . . I . . .”

What’s going on, Katie?
Why are you taking a pregnancy test?” Rill boomed.

“Because . . . because I thought I might be pregnant. I’m way late for my period,” Katie said tremulously, her eyes glued to Rill’s face.

“What?”
he heard Everett bellow on the phone.

“Shut up, Everett,” Rill said loudly. He lunged across the room and picked up the piece of plastic. His heart seized temporarily. When it resumed, it felt like it’d leapt up and lodged itself between his ears. He looked up at Katie.

“This . . . this is a positive sign, isn’t it?”

Katie nodded. For an untold period of time, they just stared at each other. He became distantly aware of how glaring the bathroom light was and how the silence seemed to roar in his ears.

“WHAT’S GOING ON?” Everett shouted, breaking the blank trance on Katie’s pale, tearstained face. Rill blinked and gently unclenched Katie’s fingers from her clutch on the cell phone.

“Everett?”

“Rill? Tell me what’s—”

“Everything’s okay. We’ll call you back.”

Rill ignored Everett’s loud protest and hung up the phone, then turned it off. He grabbed Katie’s hand, which was still hovering uselessly in a frozen position near her chest, and led her out of the bathroom. When they reached the living room, he urged her to sit down on the couch.
