Of course, as many writers point out when asked the source of their ideas, getting them is the easy part. Expressing them on paper is much more difficult, and there was still a great deal of work to do after I came up with that first kernel of an idea and that first character—minor details like creating a hero, a heroine, and a plot! Everything did fall into place in the end, and my earnest hope is that
Dangerous Illusions
has provided you with a few hours of entertainment, including some laughter and a chance or two to boo the villain and cheer the hero and heroine. That, after all, was the true purpose of the book.
