Under his direction, parks became recreational and cultural centers, and his model was copied throughout the country. His crown jewel, the conservatory, is one of the few remaining Victorian-style glass houses still in existence today.

Every year, thousands of visitors flock to Como Park, the Como Zoo, and, of course, the restored Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. This year in November, the conservatory will celebrate its centennial. I can’t wait to attend.
