He laughed, unbelievable joy running through him as Aron held him close. “Now what, my love? You own me, I own you, we’ve freed each other. Now what?” Marcus was almost drunk with euphoria. He’d never felt like this. No worries hanging over him, dragging him down. It was only him and Aron with nothing between them. He felt freer than he’d ever been.
Aron’s eyes darkened in that familiar way that sent shivers down Marcus’s spine, even as a smile lit up his beloved face. “Now, darkling, we love each other until we cannot move anymore, and worry about tomorrow when it arrives.”
Aron’s lips met Marcus’s in a kiss that rocked him to his soul, melting against the former thrall as they clung to each other, washing away the pain and insecurity they’d caused without meaning to. There was nothing standing between them anymore, and if either of them had a say in it, nothing ever would again.
