CHAPTER 9

Griffin

We’d jus
t
started our first set of the night when Katie walked in. I couldn’t help but track her with my eyes. Her brown hair was down and straight. Tonight she had on clothes that were more her style: a loose bright blue silk tank tucked into a black skirt that hit the middle of her thigh. Her legs were bare and she wasn’t wearing any jewelry. I couldn’t see her shoes, but I didn’t give a shit. I wanted to lift her shirt and make her scream my name.

I felt myself get hard. Damn, she was under my skin, in the very air I breathed. I kept singing though. I was a professional, for fuck’s sake. But I couldn’t stop myself from watching where she went, which was toward a table near the back.

Someone else was sitting at the table. It was a guy, but the lights were too low to make out whether I knew him or not.

Jealousy curled through my gut and rose to my throat. What was she doing here? And why? It couldn’t be a date. I wouldn’t let myself believe that. I’d just seen her earlier today, just done things to her body.

There had to be a reasonable explanation, but the green-eyed monster growing inside didn’t want to hear it. By the time our first set was over, I was livid. It didn’t matter that I wasn’t interested in commitment. Katie was mine.

“Thanks for rocking with Crushed Velvet. We’ll be back in twenty after a pause for the cause.”

There was loud screaming. Several girls tossed their panties on stage. I picked up a black thong, brought it to my nose, and sniffed, then tucked it in my pocket. That was my thing. What I did. I didn’t even think about how it might affect Katie. Until I caught her watching me. Her mouth hung open. She looked shocked. I watched her say something to the guy she was with and then stand. I knew where she was heading: outside for a smoke.

I jumped off the stage, determined to follow her, but a crowd gathered round, asking for autographs. Hands fondled me. I tried to stay kind, signed a few boobs and other body parts until I made it through.

When I reached the door I pushed it open. There were a few people milling about, but Katie wasn’t there. I checked the table where the guy sat. She wasn’t there either.

The ladies room.

I forced my way through the throngs of people. There was a line to use the bathroom, but I didn’t see Katie.

Going to the girl who was next in line, I asked if I could cut.

“Sure,” she said, leaning into me.

I pushed the door open. It was a one-stall bathroom. There was one mirror as well. The stall door was closed. And I knocked.

“Katie.” I couldn’t help but notice that, while the girls bathroom wasn’t five star lavish, it was a whole hell of a lot cleaner than any of the men’s bathrooms. Even smelled decent.

There was a sniffle. “The bathroom is occupied,” she said, her voice hoarse.

“Shit, Katie. I’m sorry. I’m just so used to doing what I did on stage, I didn’t even think about it.” I quickly pulled the panties out of my jean pocket and tossed them in the trash.

“Griffin?” She sounded surprised it was me.

“Yeah, it’s me.” I tried to pull open the stall, but it was locked. “Open up, please.”

I heard her blow her nose, flush, and then the stall opened. Her eyes were red, a little puffy from crying, but fuck me, she was fine. Seeing her sad made me want to kick my own ass. “I swear I’m sorry.”

She shrugged, pushing past me and walking to the sink, where she washed her hands. I studied her reflection. “It was just icing on the fucking horrible day I’ve had, that’s all.”

I came up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. “Did things not go well with Birdy?” I asked, trying like hell to care, but the softness of her body and the silkiness of her shirt against my bare skin had my cock pressing against my pants.

“I know she didn’t do it,” Katie said fiercely, but after I spoke with her I went to Reid’s apartment.” She leaned into me. The tip of my cock touched her lower back and she froze.

“I’m sorry,” I said again, wishing I wasn’t so easily turned on by her.

She turned in my arms, glancing down at my tented pants, then back up at my face. Her features changed right before my eyes. No longer sad, but filled with desire. For me.

My cock got harder. If I never saw another expression for as long as I lived, I’d be satisfied with the one on her face.

“Katie,” I whispered.

She reached her hands into my hair and pulled me down. I dove my tongue into her mouth. Exploring. Tasting the tequila and lime. I wanted to make her feel good. I wanted to take away the hurt that’d been on her face, that I knew was still in her heart. Keeping our lips locked, my hand swept up her thigh and between her legs.

She was wearing lace panties. I pushed them aside and touched her, running my finger along the slit. She was wet. “Oh yeah,” I moaned against her lips.

Katie unwrapped herself slightly, but I was so much taller than her. I opened my eyes and lifted her up onto the counter. It was clean, pristine clean. It was strangely weird, but I figured it was because the night was still young.

“Griffin?” Her eyes questioned. “You want to do it in here?”

“I just want to see you,” I said, lifting her skirt. Katie spread her legs for me. God, she was fucking beautiful. So smooth and slippery. “You’re gorgeous,” I said, pressing a finger inside.

She threw her head back. One of her hands wrapped around my wrist and the other clawed at my chest. I watched the marks where she’d clawed turn red and groaned.

Moving my finger in and out, I rubbed her clit with my thumb.

“Fuck,” she moaned.

I slid in another. “I want you to come for me, Katie.”

In response she lifted her heels so they were on the edge of the counter and fell back, her head smacking the mirror. Then she moved her hips, pushing her delicious pussy onto my fingers as far as they would go. Watching her I nearly exploded in my pants.

“Katie, I may have lied. I may need to fuck you. Right here in the bathroom.” As I spoke I kept my fingers going, kept my thumb rubbing. Her orgasm was close. I wanted to watch her come all over my fingers.

She opened her eyes and looked down, watching me work her perfect pink skin, her creamy juices wetting my fingers.

Oh, fuck. Fuck,” she breathed as I felt her orgasm crest and contract.

“That’s it, Katie.” I slowed my thumb but kept my fingers going, helping her ride her orgasm. Both hands reached out for my waist and she pulled me to her.

Without a word, she unbuttoned by pants. My cock sprang out and slapped against her leg. She took it in her hands, rubbing the length of it.

“Fuck that feels good, Katie.” Some of my precome glistened on the tip. She leaned down and took it in her mouth, then circled the head with her tongue. I groaned, grabbing her hair.

“I’m going to come,” I said, hoarsely.

She lifted her head, her lips swollen and beautiful, her eyes hooded with lust. “Come inside me,” she said.

There was no way I was denying her. I let my pants fall to my ankles and pulled her so that I slid inside.

“You feel so good.” As I watched her tight pussy take me in, I nearly came undone right there. She reached under and grabbed my balls, massaging slightly. “Fuck, this is going to be fast,” I said, lifting her onto my cock and taking her over to the wall. She wrapped her legs around my hips and held onto my shoulders. Her eyes held mine. I claimed her lips. My tongue claimed her mouth.

“Oh, god,” she whispered against my mouth. “Don’t stop. Don’t fucking stop.”

My body was shaking with the need to orgasm. She felt so good; my cock inside her warm pussy was the closest thing I’ve ever known to Heaven. When her orgasm exploded, I dove inside once more and let my orgasm come.

“Hey, are you guys about done in there? I really need to pee,” a female voice said as she pounded on the door.

I glanced down at Katie. She smiled, and we both laughed.

“Almost,” she shouted.

CHAPTER 10

Griffin

Once w
e
were cleaned up, I opened the door. The next girl in line gave me a dirty look, but all I could do was smile. “Sorry.”

I took Katie’s hand as we walked down the hall. Everyone in line knew what we’d been doing in there, but I didn’t care. From the perma-smile on Katie’s face it was obvious she didn’t care either. I was glad I’d helped her feel good, even if it was just temporarily.

“Would you come over after I’m finished here tonight? There’s something I want to tell you.” Even in the low light I saw the worry had returned to Katie’s blue-green eyes.

“Of course,” she said. “But I’d better get back to my table. I sort of left without a good reason, and he might be worried.”

“He?” I asked.

“His name is Cage Devereux. He’s Birdy’s lawyer.”

“Oh.” I couldn’t help the jealous monster that snaked its way through my belly. I’d meet this guy and make sure he knew that anything more than a professional relationship wouldn’t be tolerated.

When we reached the table, I sat next to Katie.

“Sorry about leaving. Cage, this is Griffin, the lead singer of Crushed Velvet.”

The dude’s eyes narrowed. I got the feeling he was judging Katie, but he stuck out his hand. “Good to meet you,” he said. The guy was wearing a suit, but his tie was loosened and he’d unbuttoned the top button of his shirt.

“Likewise.” I ran my hand down Katie’s back. “I’d better get back,” I said. “But come by the apartment later. There really is something I need to talk to you about.”

She nodded, her eyes glancing at my lips. I kissed her and then stood.

“See ya, Cage.”

“Yeah,” he said and then I heard him whisper to Katie. “Dandelion, I didn’t think you were that kind of girl.”

I turned around, seeing if I needed to go after the guy, but Katie had him handled.

CHAPTER 11

Katie

“What th
e
fuck do you mean?” I asked through clenched teeth.

He lifted a hand, getting a waitress’s attention. The red head with the super low cut top came over.

“Another round?” she asked.

“Yes,” Cage said, but I shook my head. “Ah, come on.”

I smiled at him. “I’ll take a double shot of tequila.”

The waitress winked. “So, hey, I saw you with Griffin, so I guess you heard?”

“Heard what?” I asked, distracted, feeling a strong need to get wasted.

She shrugged. “Griffin and his band are leaving for L.A. on Friday. They’re meeting with Warren Records.”

My heart started to beat erratically. “They’re leaving?”
Griffin’s leaving.

“Yeah, this Friday. They’ve been celebrating all night. Griffin’s had a lot to drink. They all have.” She laughed. “Party animals, if you know what I mean.”

I had an idea I did know what she meant and I didn’t like it. I watched her walk away. “What. The. Fuck?” My eyes started to water. I couldn’t believe it, that he could affect my emotions so much.

“Hey, don’t be like that. He’s just a guy, not a rock god. Nothing special.”

I nodded, devastated that Cage had thrown my own words back at me. I called Griffin a rock god on a regular basis.

“I’d better go,” I said, standing.

“Wait, drink your shots first. Then I’ll take you home.”

As though the waitress were in cahoots with Cage, she showed up. As she set down my shots, Cage said, “Another round and then I’ll check out.”

She nodded. “Sounds good, sweet thing.” She leaned over the table, making a spectacle of her cleavage.

I downed one shot and brought the second to my lips before she’d walked away.

“Chill,” he said, holding out a roll of Wint-O-Green Life Savers. I was beginning to realize Cage ate them like they were candy.

I took one and put it in my mouth. “Thanks.”

CHAPTER 1

Katie

My firs
t
coherent thought was the jackhammer pounding somewhere nearby. Or, no, it wasn’t close. The noise came from inside my head. At the realization the noise banged harder.

I worked to recall what’d happened last night: I’d gone to The Attic. Met Cage there. Griffin and I fucked in the girls’ bathroom.

Remembering the two of us together lit my thighs on fire. The Rock God knew how to make my body melt, moan, and feel amazing.
