“I was doing what a man is supposed to do…you belong to me…you shouldn’t be with anyone else,” he said proudly.
“What? Where are you from the Ice Age? That was fucking ridiculous! I can’t believe how you embarrassed me like that!”
“Don’t you fucking raise your voice to me in a public place! Do you hear me?” he shouted across the table at me, his eyes protruding out of his head as his face turned completely beet red. He was enraged.
I was taken aback and I stood up tall against my chair, my eyes opening wide, gleaming with fear. He scared the shit out of me. Everyone in the diner turned around to wait and see the come back
to his remark. They were already listening to our argument so I turned the conversation around on him and asked,
“Does it make you feel good to embarrass me in front of people in public?” I picked up my chicken wrap and took a bite to avoid looking at him.
“I’m sorry. I can’t control myself sometimes.” He loosened his hands that were folded tightly on the table.
“What the hell is going on? Between you and Dave, you’re both going to kill me with your mood swings.” My eyes stared at him intensely waiting for a response.
“What are you my mother?” he asked annoyed, staring at me deeply with his eyes burning a hole through me.
“I just want to know why you hate Dave so much, and why you wanted to kill Nick last night,” I said angrily, placing down the chicken wrap and throwing my napkin on the table like a spoiled child.
“I don’t hate Dave. I. Don’t. Like. Him. And don’t include that fucking asshole, Nick, in our conversation. He’s nobody,” he said as he glared at me heatedly.
“This is jealousy. This “not liking” people is ruining our relationship.” My voice cracked as I tried to keep it together before falling apart.
“I…I can’t help the way I feel. I…I love you.” He placed his fork on his plate and lowered his head. “This is too much for me,” he whispered. My heart pounded against my chest. Oh my God! He said it! He said he loved me.
“Michael?”
His eyes were glossy and now he seemed like the one who was going to fall apart.
“I love you Jenesis like I’ve never loved anyone before. You’re everything to me. I’m going to be 30 years old, and I’ve never felt like this for any woman. I have all of these weird emotions. This is really hard for me.” I grabbed his hand to comfort him and right then and there…I fell apart.
“Jenesis, please don’t cry,” he whispered as he lifted his face towards me. My heart fluttered with love. He was right, there was no reason to cry, but he didn’t know how happy he made me right
there at that moment. I loved him as much as he loved me. He reached over the table and grabbed my hand. “I don’t even want another man breathing next to you. I hate Dave for loving you like
his daughter. When he’s loving you, he’s taking that little piece of your heart that only belongs to me…and I can’t deal with that.” He looked up at me, his eyes lustrous and his beautiful heart-
shaped lips tightened into a straight line. I wanted to jump across the table, grab him, and kiss him hard. “I’m sorry baby, this has to be love because I can’t let anyone get in our way…not even
Dave.” I leaned over the table and kissed him gently on the lips. He kissed me back, holding my face in his hands, looking at me with pure love in his eyes, and then slowly, he parted his lips and
gently slid his tongue in my mouth, swirling his tongue with mine. Oh, how delicious he is. I could swirl my tongue in his mouth forever.
“Michael…I don’t know what to say,” I whispered against his mouth.
“Say that you love me, too, that you’re mine. I want to hear that you are only mine, and that no one will ever come between us. Say it baby, I need to hear you say it.” He gazed into my eyes and I fell under his spell.
“I’m yours Michael and no one will ever come between us…ever.” I smiled at him and kissed the palm of his hand. I even forgot we were sitting in a diner. I lost all sense of time. I didn’t care who was staring and what they were whispering about. He loved me and that’s all that mattered.
“Let’s get out of here,” he said.
We walked hand in hand down 68th and park straight to central park. I felt him telling me that he loved me made our relationship official and I wanted to share everything with him. Everything.

Michael and I met up with an old buddy of his, Eddie, and his girlfriend, Tilly, for dinner that night. I guess he wanted me to meet the people in his life that were important to him. Though he didn’t mention it, it seemed as if Eddie and Tilly were his only friends. I found that hard to believe.
He was a lawyer and had contact with people of all the time. I guess its true when they say you can count on one hand all of your true friends and he couldn’t stop talking about Eddie.
We met at a quaint restaurant in the village. It was cozy and quite dark. We walked towards the back of the restaurant and Michael stopped at a table near the kitchen.
“I’m surprised to see you here,” Michael said as he stood in front of this handsome man. “I didn’t think you would show up,” he said jokingly. “I’m sorry I’ve been out of the loop bro…we’ve been really busy with the business and everything.” I assumed that was Eddie and he reached out and
grabbed Michael’s hand, then stood up and gave him a chest to chest hug. Michael then looked over at, I presumed, was Tilly.
“Michael, it’s so good to see you again, it’s been a while,” Tilly said in her British accent as she kissed him on the cheek. Her beauty blew me away. She had long golden shiny locks of hair that
were softly curled and fell around her shoulders. Her light blue eyes sparkled in the dim light and she had a perfect body to match. I never met such a beautiful woman before besides Dr. Logan, and I have to say I was a little intimidated by her good looks and her accent.
“Tilly, Eddie, this is Jenesis…my future wife,” he said proudly as he placed his arm around my waist kissing my nose.
“Nice to meet you Jenesis. Eddie did you call Margaret? Michael tells me you know Margaret.” She extended her hand out to me. I glanced over at Michael. How does she know Margaret? That means she knows Dave as well.
“Michael, she’s beautiful,” I heard her whisper.
“Yeah...I did and Margaret and her new boyfriend are supposed to show up” He said as he looked at his cell phone. “She is beautiful. Where did you find her? She’s definitely not someone I’m used
to seeing you with. She seems…nice…not your type at all.” Eddie’s eyes met mine and he winked at me. I glanced over at Michael whose face was serious.
“Eddie, that’s extremely impolite. Where are your manners?” she scolded him in front of us. “I’ve known Margaret for years, since I was a little girl. She lived in England for a while. She was a
neighbor to my Aunt Abigail in Cambridge. It’s a small world isn’t it, Michael?” Tilly said as she motioned with her hand for us to join them at the table. She waved to get the waiters attention.
“Yes it is…and Eddie…I found Jenesis in a place where you weren’t looking.” Michael laughed and sat near Eddie.
“Wine?” Tilly asked me.
“A glass of white zinfandel, please,” I said staring at her beautiful face.
She ordered our drinks and ordered two Coronas for Eddie and Michael. They sat and talked about high school, college, and anything else they could remember. It was nice seeing Michael
comfortable and happy around his friends. He looked so beautiful sitting across from me and while he spoke to Eddie, he glanced at me from time to time with those stunning eyes, sending me
messages and making my mind race, thinking about what’s to come. He didn’t have to say a word to me, I knew what he was thinking, and I wanted the same.
Tilly ordered the last round of drinks. I was feeling tipsy and I was ready to go home. Michael practically lived in my apartment. Funny thing is, it’s been a couple of months, and I’ve never been to his apartment. It just never came up and he never invited me.
“It was a good thing Margaret didn’t show up,” I said softly to Tilly.
“Why is that?” she asked curiously.
“Because her boyfriend is my boss and my best friend and… Michael hates him,” I sighed.
“Oh my…however do you keep your friendship with Margaret and Dave?” she asked sipping on her drink and shaking her head.
“It’s hard. I’ve been trying to keep the peace.” I smiled but deep down inside it hurt that I needed to even say that to her.
“Well, I’m sure Eddie and I can help you. I think Eddie knows
Dave…Eddie don’t you know Dave?” She turned to Eddie and Michaels face dropped.
“Yeah, I know him. I don’t particularly like him, though,” Eddie said as he faced Michael.
“See, I’m not the only one.” Michael nodded his head.
“Anyway, cheers! To new love and old ones…and to new friendships.” She stood up and raised her glass, we all clanked our glasses together and then Tilly walked up to Eddie and kissed him on the lips.
Michael grabbed me by the waist and sat me on his lap. “Give me that little nose” I leaned in and he kissed my nose then looked at me,
“What?” I whispered.
“Thanks for loving me Jenesis. It’s been a long time since I’ve been happy…I mean really happy with someone.” He smiled and winked at me.
“There’s more to come.” I kissed him on the lips.
“Let’s get out of here,” he whispered.
We got up and gathered our things and Michael called the waiter over to pay the tab.
“It was so nice seeing you again, Tilly. You should make a date to meet with Jenesis and Margaret.” Michael kissed her on her cheek goodbye. I was jealous and just seeing his lips touch
her cheek infuriated me. I could feel the green-eyed monster in me coming out as she smiled at him.
“Will do, Jenesis, let’s exchange numbers. I’ll call Margaret and set up a brunch date for next week,” Tilly said. We grabbed our cell phones and exchanged numbers.
“Oh wait, it’s perfect. We could all have brunch together on Sundays. We can start our own little tradition,” I said happily.
“Perfect!” she shouted. We left the restaurant, hailed a cab, and went back to my apartment. I wanted to make this night special for him. I wanted to open a new door for us and I wanted to give him the best present ever.
We entered the apartment and I walked straight into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of champagne that I had in the fridge and plenty of ice to cool us off. I asked him to open the bottle as I went into the bedroom to change into something more comfortable. I wanted him to see me in a different
light. I wanted to seduce him and make him want me, beg for me. I was so nervous though. Michael is older than me and so experienced. I could tell by his kiss and the way that he touches me every
time we’re together, he makes me feel like I’m floating in the heavens and he’s the only man that can bring me back down to Earth.
Michael opened the bottle of champagne as I changed into a beautiful black-laced teddy with a matching lace thong underneath with my slinky silver pumps I wore that night at the gallery. I could hear the cork pop and drop onto the kitchen floor tiles. I looked at myself in the mirror that
hung behind the closet door. I stared at myself, wearing a sheer laced black teddy with a sheer lace thong. My breasts were round and full and my nipples stood in attention as I imagined pressing
my body against his. I placed my hands over my breasts palming them gently then sliding my hand across my flat abs. I turned to look at my perfectly round bottom and the lace that nestled in
between both cheeks. I felt beautiful and sexy, but I also felt ashamed. A memory of my father flashed before me.
“You look like a whore!” That’s what my father said to me the day I was getting ready for prom. I remember wearing a skin-tight black lace sleeveless dress with ruffles on the bottom. My mother yelled at him, “How could you say that to her!” and My father turned around and smacked the
camera right out of her hand then, back smacked her across the mouth causing her to bleed and fall against the living room table.
“What the fuck are you looking at? Get the fuck outta my house!” he yelled at my prom date, Allen, who ran towards the door as fast as he could. He tripped in the foyer as my father kicked
him right in the ass as he struggled to get up from the floor. My father pushed him out of the house and he ran for his life. He was nowhere to be found. I sat with my mother on the floor as I picked
up the camera that broke into pieces, and then I helped her walk to the bathroom and locked the door. I took some toilet paper and wiped her mouth. Then ran cold water over a washcloth and
held it against her bloody lip. She was crying, not because she was hurt, but because she knew he ruined my prom. I looked at her as if “mom its okay don’t worry” but she knew better. Then we
heard a bang on the door. “No prom for you bitch! Go to your room, whore!” He yelled at me as I cried and cursed him to die underneath my breath.
“Baby, are you coming out of there any time soon?” Michael knocked on the door. I was startled and turned quickly towards the door covering my body with my hands. My heart began to race. I didn’t answer him.
