Chapter Six

Wyatt

I’m tired as hell as I enter the office. I have been up all night doing surveillance. It’s for a high profile actress that’s married to a wealthy Real Estate mogul. The guy has been cheating for years, but his wife wants out of the marriage now.

Unfortunately, there was a clause in their prenup and she will have to prove he is cheating. We are also working on finding the money he has been hiding. This guy is a real piece of work. I followed him to not one, but two different homes of his two different girlfriends.

I think the first part of this case is air tight. I think I will get Nellie to help with tracking the funds. She has proven to be a great asset to the company and it has only been a few days. I am considered a computer genius, but Nellie had me lifting a brow a few times as I watched her work.

Right now I can barely keep my eyes open so any help would be awesome. I sip at the coffee in my hand as I walk into the office and almost choke on it as my new obsession comes into view. Nellie is leaning over Felix’s shoulder pointing at his computer screen.

Her ass looks great in the tight black pencil skirt she is wearing with red fuck me heels. The back of her top only has a thin strip holding the sides together on each side, exposing her bare back. I reach for my cock with my free hand and have to squeeze before readjusting myself.

You would think I was fifteen again and not thirty. I lick my lips as I think of all the things I would do to that delectable ass. I can just imagine my cock sliding in and out of her pink pussy as I lick her coffee colored skin. Nellie just looks like she has a pretty little pussy.

I groan at myself and pinch my eyes closed. When I open them, she is bending forward even more. I bite my lip and try to force my tired brain to get my feet to move away. Too bad the view is too good to move.

“Take a picture it would last longer, pervert,” Heather snorts as she walks up beside me and folds her arms.

“Don’t you have something to work on, cat woman,” I smirk as I turn to look at her.

“Apart of my job is making sure this office runs without a hitch, man-whore,” Heather smirks. “She’s too good for you.”

“Whatever, vampire,” I tease. I drop my voice to a whisper. “What unlucky woman is allowing you to suck up her time while you play Barbie with her.”

“Oh shut up,” Heather laughs. In the blink of an eye, she becomes serious. “You know I’m right. She is too good for you, but I can see you are going to go after her anyway. Don’t hurt her Black.”

I wiggle my brows and lick my lips. “I plan to hurt her Heather, but she will enjoy every ounce of pain, for every moment I spend giving it to her.”

“You are sick,” Heather snorts. “Do you know that?”

I shrug and get ready to come back with another smart ass remark when Nellie turns and sees Heather and I are looking in her direction. She blushes and gives a little smile before smoothing a hand down the side of her skirt.

She really has no idea how sexy she is. The front of her white blouse reveals her belly just a little above her skirt. It has been two days since our little lunch, but I can’t stop thinking about it and how she opened up to me during it.

I would love to have some time alone with her again. I have been busy the last two days, but I think it is time that I focus on getting what I want. A smile pulls my lips up at the idea.

Nellie walks over and stops in front of me. “Good morning,” she says with a soft smile. “Joe wants me to fit everyone’s phone with a new tracking system. I can do yours when you can spare your phone. It won’t take long.”

“If you want my number Nellie just ask for it,” I say with a cocky grin.

Nellie’s eyes widen as she looks up at me. She tilts her head to the side and places her hands on those mouthwatering round hips. My eyes drop to her hips and make a slow trip back up to her face.

“I already have your phone number, Wyatt. According to company policy, everyone is required to have each other’s contact information,” she lifts a brow at me, causing me to smile even more. “I think I’m learning that you don’t follow the rules, though.”

“I follow the rules alright,” I say with a sly smile. “I love to enforce the rules too. You let me know when you are ready for me to share those rules with you.”

Nellie’s mouth flaps open a few times before Heather saves her. “Come on honey, before he devours you where you stand,” Heather laughs out.

“Wait, don’t you need my phone,” I say pulling the device from my pocket.

I make sure to brush her fingers as I hand it to her. I feel that same heat from the first time we ever touched. My tired mind almost snaps, causing me to pull her into my arms to suck on those full lips. I rein it in before I make a scene right here in the office.

Then the woman goes and fucks with my head. She gives me a sexy smile and lowers her head. She looks up at me through those incredibly long lashes. She bites her lip then licks it.

“I don’t want you to be out of compliance so I’ll make sure to program my number in your phone before I return it,” she says. With that, she turns and walks away as if she didn’t just give me the hard on of the century.

Nellie

I don’t know what has gotten into me when it comes to Wyatt Black. I shouldn’t be flirting with him, but he has flirted with me a few times now. The kiss on the cheek the other day at lunch still has my cheek tingling.

I have gotten to know that he, much like his brothers, loves to tease and joke around. The few times he hasn’t been busy in the office he has made me laugh. So a part of me wonders if he is just teasing me.

I guess that is what made me flirt back. If I play along, I can figure him out. I just wasn’t expecting the heated look he gave me just before I walked away. I swear my panties went up in flames.

“You are playing with fire,” Heather laughs as she follows me to my workstation.

“What do you mean,” I ask coyly.

“Oh don’t you try to pull that crap with me,” Heather gives me the eye. “I can’t say I blame you. I know how long you have had a crush on him. I’m just saying to be careful. This is still Wyatt, the Heartbreaker we are talking about.”

I look up to say something to Heather, but I see Wyatt stopping in his tracks at her words. His face pulls into a frown and his ripped arms cross over his chest. The dark look in his eyes sends a shiver through me.

“Heather, you and I both know reputations don’t always speak for the person. I would love it if you would let Nellie figure out who I am for herself,” he nearly growls.

“Wyatt, I’m sorry,” Heather says with a deep blush.

He ignores her and looks at me. “When you have some time I need your help with a case,” he says then turns abruptly and disappears into his private office.

“Officially minding my business,” Heather mutters and strolls over to her desk.

Chapter Seven

“Where do you want these last boxes,” I hear Wyatt call from behind me.

I turn to reply and find him staring at my bare legs. I smirk to myself. I may be trying to avoid his advances, but can’t say that it doesn’t make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I catch him staring at me like that. I’ll admit, I did wear these tiny little shorts with him in mind, once Bean and Heather said they were going to help me move into my new place and they were bringing Wyatt and a few of his brothers along.

Steve had sent my things ahead of me and Uncle Rob had set them up in storage for me until I was able to find a place of my own. It only took a month to find a place and boy am I grateful to finally have a place to call all my own.

I didn’t have a whole lot so it didn’t take that long to get everything into the place, which worked out well since Noah and Bean bailed and Braxton was gone soon after. Heather and Felix were the only ones to stay behind, although those two were supposed to go out to get us all something to eat and haven’t come back since.

Wyatt has been helping me to move things around and to get the last few boxes into the apartment. This isn’t the first time I have caught his gaze on me today. I drop my hip and place my hand on it, giving my bare toes a wiggle against the hardwood floors.

Wyatt’s gaze follows each motion before he licks his lips and drags his eyes back up my body. I let the smirk I have been holding inside reach my lips. My smile quickly fades when I see the blaze that ignites within his golden eyes. Suddenly my choice of outfit doesn’t seem like the greatest idea as my nipples start to push against the thin fabric of my t-shirt.

“You can sit them right over there,” I point to an empty spot in the corner.

He quickly deposits the boxes in their spot and turns to make his way over to me. I push my glasses up my nose as I tilt my head back to look up at him. He has a huge grin on his face as he looks me in the eyes.

“You do know they’re not coming back,” he says with a crooked grin.

“Yeah, I’m starting to get that,” I laugh. “Thanks for the help. I guess I can handle it from here.”

He shrugs his shoulders. “I have nothing else to do for the rest of the evening, so I’m all yours. Put me to work any way you like,” he says, and then licks his lips.

I catch the double entendre and have to bite back the moan that tries to push its way past my lips. I tear my eyes from his looking anywhere, but at him. I wipe my sweaty hand on my shorts and try to remember how to speak again.

“You know you really don’t have to stay. I’m sure you are tired and hungry by now,” I say as I find the box beside me of the most importance to unpack.

“Actually, I am starving. How about I order us something to eat and then we can get this place squared away. I heard you telling Bean you needed to go pick up some things up from the store. We can do that too if you like,” he reaches for my hand and pulls me to him.

“You sure, I mean if you had plans tonight I don’t want to get in the way of that,” I say breathlessly and want to kick myself.

“I am right where I planned to be,” he winks at me. “Come on Nellie put me to work.”

I gulp down a breath and nod. “Okay, it is mostly my shoes and clothes. I guess I do need some help setting up the shelves in the closet,” I relent.

“Well, I’m your man. What should I order to eat,” he asks pulling his phone from his pocket.

“Pizza is fine. You know in case the others decide to come back,” I shrug.

He gives me a mischievous smile and shrugs. “Sure,” he replies before making the call.

I escape to the bedroom for a minute just to breathe again. Wyatt always leaves me so flustered. Whenever I think I am flirting, he just turns it up to a level I am so not ready to handle. I don’t even know why I try to flirt it is so not like me, but I can’t help it when I am around him.

I pull out my phone to text Bean and Heather to see if they are coming back. I frown and stomp my foot when they both text me with lame excuses about why they won’t be returning. I feel set up, but I shrug the thought off as I remember Heather telling me Wyatt is not for me. She wouldn’t leave me here alone on purpose,
would she?

My shoulders sag when I realize I have to grow a pair. I turn and walk back out to the living room. I find Wyatt in my kitchen that opens to the living room. He is hanging out of the refrigerator. He stands and looks at me, lifting a beer in his hand.

“I forgot I brought these along for everyone. I placed them in here when I first got here. You want one,” he asks with that sexy ass smile.
Wyatt, the Heartbreaker,
I chide myself to remember.

“Sure,” I shrug trying to play it cool.

Wyatt brings two beers into the living room and looks around. “So where do you want me. I’m ready to get started when you are,” he says with a wolfish grin.

I just bet you are,
I groan to myself in my head. To Wyatt, I wave toward the box with the shelves for my closet. “We might as well start with the shelves. Most of these boxes are filled with my shoe collection,” I give an embarrassed giggle.

I have way too many shoes for one person, but that is not going to stop me from buying more. Wyatt goes over to grab the box and heads for the bedroom. I bite my lip as I watch his muscles work in his tight v-neck t-shirt. His butt is so cute in his jeans, I want to walk up behind him and stick my hands in his pockets to squeeze it.

He looks over his shoulder and catches me red handed. He lifts a brow and gives me a smug smile. “See something you like Nellie,” he says smoothly.

I blush and stare at him dumbly. He just throws his head back and laughs as he walks into the room. I follow covering my heated face with my hands.
Get it together crazy, you can do this. He is just a guy and you are not looking for a hookup or a relationship.

I remove my hands from my face and almost swallow my tongue. Wyatt pulls his shirt over his head and I am bombarded with tanned muscles, ripped abs, a sinful v, and a sexy as sin tat on his collarbone. I quickly avert my eyes before I drool on myself.

“I…Um… I want to put those shelves in this closet. At the bottom,” I stammer.

“I’ve got this. I helped my dad install a similar system for mom. Just get your shoes ready. I’ll have this set up in no time,” he winks and I duck my head.

“Oh, okay, I’ll just get started in the other room,” I murmur quickly.

I hear him chuckle behind me as I scurry out of the room. I chide my stupid heart for pounding in my chest. The traitor between my legs is no different. I roll my eyes at Bean and Heather’s desertion once again.

I can do this. He’ll put up the shelves and then he can just leave. That is what I tell myself as I get busy unpacking boxes. About a half hour passes and the doorbell rings. I had almost forgotten about the pizza.

I have been nervously unpacking boxes and sipping on my second beer. I lift to my knees to stand, but Wyatt saunters out with a light sheen of sweat on his chest and shoulders. He heads for the door opening it to pay for the pizza.

“Oh, wait I have some money over here for that,” I say as I snap out of ogling him.

“I got it,” Wyatt shoots a frown at me.

I go to help, but he sidesteps me and places the pizza on top of the coffee table Noah and Braxton brought in before they bailed. I take my place back on the floor, next to the table. Wyatt uses the paper plates that came with the pizza to hand me a slice. I wonder if he requested the paper plates or if they just sent them.

“Thanks,” I say as I take the slice. “I want to, at least, pay for half.”

His golden eyes flicker up to look at me. He shakes his head. “Not happening,” he replies and bites into his slice.

Seriously, how do you make eating a slice of freaking pizza look sexy? I can’t.
I think my brain fizzes out for a moment. When I come to, Wyatt is looking at me expectantly. I try to figure out what he may have said to me, but it is useless.

He chuckles and wipes his mouth with a napkin. “I asked you if you want help with organizing your shoes in the room? I finished the shelves,” he says with a sexy smile.

“Oh, um, you don’t have to. I have them in bins inside the boxes it will be pretty easy to put them all in their place,” I clear my throat and say.

“Good so it will go faster with two people doing it,” he says with that dangerous smile.

“Are you sure you don’t have a date or something? I don’t want you breaking any hearts on account of me,” I shrug.

Wyatt’s eyes narrow and his smile fades, he tosses his pizza down on his plate. I watch his jaw work as he reins in his temper. It is the same look he had the day he caught Heather warning me off.

“Do you remember the first day I took you to lunch,” he asks with an eerie calm. I gulp then nod. “I told you then that I wasn’t interested in dating or sleeping with anyone.”

“Not in those exact words, but yeah, I guess so,” I murmur.

“I haven’t been on a date since I don’t know when. Unfortunately, you witnessed the last time I had sex. I know my reputation isn’t the best Nellie, but I am working really hard to change that. I’ve finally found someone I want more than the cheap thrill of one night,” Wyatt sighs heavily and throws his head back. “Look, let’s just forget it.”

I sit not knowing what to say and feeling bad. I chew my pizza slowly watching him sit with a far off look on his handsome face. I want to kick myself. There is a tension in the room that is way more uncomfortable than the sexual tension that had once been surrounding us.

“Hey Wyatt,” I say a little over a whisper. He seems to come back to the room and turns towards me. “I don’t mean anything by what I said.”

He cuts me off. “I’m the oldest of seven hardheaded brothers. People have always wanted to blame us for something. Even the things we didn’t do. I was always the troublemaker, the ring leader, a few people were kind and tried to point out that I’m the voice of reason more times than not, but most people just see trouble when they see us brothers.

“After a while I decided to give them what they were looking for. I regret it now for so many reasons. Braxton for one has walked in my footsteps,” he shakes his head. “You know what, rumors say that he has. I know better than anybody that what you hear is not always true.

“I could care less about the names they throw at us, but that one name. Being called a heartbreaker, I have never asked for or wanted a heart to be able to break one. I am always straight on what I want and don’t want. I don’t deserve that title and I don’t deserve to have it haunt me,” with that he stands and goes into the kitchen for another beer.

I sit speechless. I don’t know what to say. The raw emotion in his voice makes me feel like you friendship or whatever this is has taken a turn and gone to another level. I sit lost in thought not even noticing how long he is gone when he returns to my room.

I get up thinking he went to get his shirt to leave. When I find him in my room, with his shirt back on, thank God, he is unpacking my shoe bins and shelving my shoes by color. It brings a smile to my face and I wordlessly join him to finish the job.

Wyatt

I look at my watch and see that it is after midnight, but I am not ready to go. We have spent hours organizing Nellie’s shoes and clothes alone. I am not complaining. I have loved every minute of spending time with her.

Yeah, I was a little pissed when she brought up that damn heartbreaker shit. The burn of that video has done exactly what Coral intended. I have finally found someone worth getting to know and all she can think about me is that I am a heartbreaker, who can’t keep his dick in his pants.

I don’t hit girls, but I have some friends in some really great places. I have had a few of them making sure to ticket Coral every chance they get. She has had parking and traffic violations up the wazoo.

I smile to myself as I think of the call I got from my boy Frazier. He said Coral snapped and assaulted a female officer. She spent two days in lockup courtesy of my good friends.

“Proud of yourself,” Nellie teases, thinking I am smiling about the closet that I helped her arrange and the picture frames I hung for her.

“Actually, I am,” I reply not correcting her.

She laughs and nudges me with her hip. “It’s late. I noticed you had a few beers. Would you like to crash in the guest room, I have a blow up mattress?” she offers pulling that sexy bottom lip into her mouth.

“I have a better idea,” I offer and she raises a nervous brow. I laugh and smile at her. “Don’t look at me like that. I mean, I’m having a good time hanging out with you. We still have more pizza and beer. Let’s go sit in your new living room and hang. We can play truth or dare or something.”

“Truth or dare,” she laughs, giving me the side eye.

“Twenty-one questions, whatever you want,” I wink. “We’re off tomorrow. What’s the harm?”

“Okay, fine. Since you were such a great help I’ll oblige you this once,” she smiles shyly.

I clap my hands and rub them together. Nellie shakes her head at me and leads the way into the living room. She sits on the floor and, this time, I do the same. She smiles at me and pushes her glasses up her nose. So damn adorable.
