“Fuck,” she hissed under her breath, but knew that it was something men experienced during their sleep.

She wanted to move away, but the urge to touch was just as strong, and she knew she could get away with it by pretending to be asleep. In the end she couldn’t resist. Closing her eyes, she let her hand rest against the hardness and a slight shudder rippled through her. She tried to control her breathing, but it came out heavier as she realized how naughty she was being and she eventually eased her hand away. Six rolled closer as she moved and she closed her eyes tighter as his erection pressed against her hip. It was if he was trying to torment her, although she knew that wasn’t the case. As far as she could tell, he wasn’t even aware of what was happening.

She was all too conscious of the touch of his erection on her body, but wasn’t about to complain. The flicker of heat it brought between her thighs made her want to squirm, but she remained completely still until the sensation died away and tried to relax. It was easier said than done, but she eventually drifted off again and when the light of morning woke her she was in bed alone. The sound of the shower revealed where Six was, and when the noise stopped she looked to the bathroom door.

“Time to get up if you want a shower,” he told her.

The sight of him with just a towel wrapped around his waist made her think of when she opened her eyes the night before to find his arm wrapped around her, and she suddenly wondered what might have happened if he woke up. Maybe they would have got the headboard of their bed banging on the wall.

“Hurry up,” he urged her. “We need to get moving.”

His words cut into her thoughts to drive them away and she threw off the covers to get up.

Chapter 9

“Sleep well?” Crash asked.

“After the banging stopped,” Six replied instantly as he sat down in the booth and then slid across the seat to let Marion get in beside him.

A grin spread across Crash’s face, but he said nothing as he shot a glance at Carrie. Six was about to go on, but remained quiet as the bar owner came towards the table carrying a tray.  They watched as the man offloaded plates, forks and knives.

“Enjoy your breakfast,” he said and walked off.

They all picked up the cutlery to eat and there was silence for a few seconds before Crash started the conversation.

“So, what’s the plan for today?”

“We get to a safe house,” Six replied.

“The nearest one is on the coastline just west of Portland,” Crash said.

“Yeah, I’m not sure about that,” Six went on. “There’s one north of Portland to the east of the main highway.”

“It’s further away,” Crash commented between mouthfuls of beans.

“Yeah, but at least we aren’t trapped right on the coast if somebody does catch up to us,” Six said. “The one I’m thinking about at Mossyrock has more options, if we need to make a break for it and run.”

“You’re the boss,” Crash replied. “Is that the one we head for?”

“Yes,” Six answered.

The decision was made for their next move and there was silence as they finished their breakfast.

“How do you want to play it?” Crash asked when they were sitting drinking coffee.

“We split up again,” Six answered. “That worked out for us yesterday, so it makes sense to stick with it. Marion and I will head off first on the bike and head straight for the house. You and Carrie sit it out here for a few hours then follow. You can maybe have a scout around in the truck before you head off to see if you spot anything suspicious. Get in touch if you do, but stick to the normal routine and only call if you really have to.”

“Sure thing,” Crash replied.

They continued to chat as they finished their coffee before Six and Marion slid out from the booth to get to their feet. They headed towards the door and out to the Harley.

“Highways or country tracks?” she asked when he handed her the helmet.

“A bit of both,” he replied with a smirk.

“Great,” she replied without much enthusiasm as they got on the vehicle. “How long is the trip?”

“We should be there by mid-afternoon.”

Six got the Harley running and they pulled out of the bar parking lot to set off. A five hour drive wasn’t something to look forward to, and changing from smooth tarmac to bumpy track every so often made the ride uncomfortable at times. Marion’s butt was aching again when they eventually pulled to a stop on a non-descript street in a small town. It looked like the last place to find a criminal safe house, but she suspected that was exactly the reason why the location was chosen.

“What’s this town called?” she asked when she removed her helmet.

“Mossyrock,” Six told her as they dismounted the bike. “You just wait here first.”

He moved off cautiously along the street then up a driveway to a property and peered inside a window. Marion watched as he made his way along the front of the house to check other windows then disappeared from view. It brought home to her just how isolated she was and her nerves didn’t settle down until she could see Six again. It was the strangest of feelings to be so reliant on a criminal, but after a day with him it wasn’t really how she thought of him anymore.

“It’s empty,” he said when he returned.

His demeanor was more relaxed and he mounted the bike to drive it up the driveway that ran around to the rear of the property. Marion followed and saw him opening a door when she came around the corner of the building.

“It’s an improvement on yesterday,” she said when she walked inside a small kitchen.

“We’re not slobs,” Six replied when he closed the door.

“Could have fooled me,” she told him with a smirk.

She followed him out of the kitchen to a hallway as they walked to a lounge. Six threw himself down on a chair and looked at her.

“You can develop film, I take it,” he said.

“Well… yes,” she replied. “I can if I have the right equipment and a dark room.”

“What equipment?” Six asked

“I need the processing chemicals, changing bag and a tank to develop the film. For preparing the prints…”

She stopped talking when Six held up his hand.

“Maybe you should just write it down,” he said. “Crash will be here in a few hours and I’ll get him to go and get some provisions. He can pick up whatever you need if you make a list and give him a guide to find it.”

“Sure, I can do that,” Marion replied. “I’ll need a darkroom to work in as well.”

“There’s a small downstairs bedroom without a window,” he told her. “It might be suitable.”

“Can I see it?” she asked.

Six nodded his head as he got to his feet and Marion stood up to follow him out of the lounge. They walked to the door right at the end of the hallway.

“What do you think?” he asked when he opened the door and stepped in the room.

She walked inside and looked around.

“It should do,” she said. “If I get the equipment, I should be able to make negatives and half decent prints.”

“Then we can see exactly what you caught on film.”

“Yeah, and hopefully it will provide hard evidence that you weren’t the one that murdered that guy,” she said. “My testimony will back that up to show it was Jake Fiori.”

“Your testimony makes you a marked woman,” he replied. “We still have to worry about that.”

She glanced at him when she heard his choice of words.

“You’re worried about me?” she asked. She was aware of the tension as soon as the words were out of her mouth. “Sorry. I didn’t mean…”

“I won’t let anything happen to you,” he said quietly.

She glanced at him and saw the way he was staring at her. It was the first real glimpse that she wasn’t the only one that was feeling the spark of something between them.

“I know,” she said and smiled.

The apprehension fluttered through her when he moved closer, but it was nothing to do with fear. His hand came up to her cheek and his caress was gentle. It made the breath stick in her throat and she looked at him when he eased the glasses from her face.

“Pretty eyes,” he said with a smile then put the glasses down on the small table beside the bed. “Now let your hair down.”

She did it without question and shook her head when she freed the ponytail. Her long hair spilled over her shoulders and she held her breath as Six reached out. He brushed his fingers through her dark tresses and she gasped when his grip tightened just enough to ease her head forward. The soft brush of his lips on hers was electric and ignited the passion. The kiss quickly became more intense as they thrust their bodies together and the touch of hard muscles on her soft curves brought out a strong shudder.

Marion gasped as Six’s lips slid down from her mouth. She brought her hands to the nape of his neck and tilted her head to expose more of her throat. The kisses pressing on her naked skin were thrilling and the arousal that rippled through her body was unstoppable. It was crazy, but she knew she wanted to be his in that moment, and his surging lust for her was a turn on. She pressed her body eagerly against his and could make out his erection coming to life. It reminded her of when she touched it the night before, but she knew that now she was about to get so much more.

His lips came up to hers again and her breath spilled out heavily before a ferocious kiss rocked her head back. It made her excitement spiral higher and she glanced down when their lips parted to see his fingers at the top button of her shirt. He eased it open and looked in her eyes as his hands slid down to the next.

“Are you going to stop me?” he asked, almost mockingly.

Marion shook her head and stood compliantly as more of her upper chest was exposed. Six’s fingertips brushed against her naked skin as he undid just enough buttons to bring her bra in view. He stroked along the top edge of it and she gasped when he then dragged the silky material down. It revealed a nipple and she bit her lip when he brushed a touch over it. His gaze left hers when he leaned in to kiss her neck, and the way his lips slid lower was a tantalizing delight that sent another rush of arousal through her veins.

The touch of his lips sliding across her skin sent shivers racing down her spine, and they became stronger when his mouth found a nipple. He grabbed at the buttons of her shirt to get more of them opened and dragged her bra down completely from her. She grasped a handful of hair as he flicked out his tongue to slide the wet tip around one nipple then the other. It made them bullet hard and so sensitive that she let out a loud groan when he sucked one in his mouth.

The way he was lavishing attention on her body quickly started to drive her crazy, and she clung on to his head to keep him where he was. She wanted more of his touch and let out a groan when his teeth grazed against her nipple in a light bite. It was an erotic torment that brought a more potent flush of heat between her thighs, and she pushed her body towards him to show that she wanted more. He pushed back and she was forced to take a step towards the bed. She drew her breath in sharply when her legs hit the edge of the mattress and she made no attempt to stay on her feet.

The weight of Six pressed down on top of her when she dropped on the bed, and his mouth found her breasts again in an instant. Marion closed her eyes as the burst of pleasure intensified and wriggled around as his head moved from side to side to tease and torment her stiff nipples. Her muscles tensed when he kissed lower on her body, and she couldn’t stop the fluttering sensation that followed as his lips slid across her belly. His hands touched on the button of her jeans and she let out a soft groan when he released it. As he pulled the zipper down, he let his fingertips slide across the soft material of her panties and it made her body arch up.

“Still not going to stop me?” he teased her.

“No,” she replied in a hoarse, breathless voice.

She was going to help and lifted her butt up from the mattress as he slid fingers under the waistband of her jeans to ease the denim material over her hips and ass. He then dragged it down her legs and she could see his gaze on her panties as he got over her again.

“Take the t-shirt off,” she told him.

She held her breath as he gave her what she wanted and his bulging muscles were quickly in view when he dragged his top off. He then got on all fours to crawl up her body until his head was over hers. Marion lifted her hand to stroke her fingertips on his chest when he leaned down to a kiss.

She continued to stroke touches on the naked skin of his chest as the kiss lingered, but she dropped her hand when his lips moved lower on her body. He was in a hurry now to get to what he wanted, and she gasped as she spread her legs apart. The glimpse of the dark patch on the material between her thighs caught his attention and he brought his mouth to it in an instant. Marion writhed as the flush of sensual heat burned hotter. The touch of his tongue rasping across her panties as he licked at her taste sent ribbons of pleasure rippling through her and her muscles tightened to make her body arch up.

Her legs were eased wider apart and the rough prickle of Six’s stubble grazed against her inner thighs as he buried his head between them. The wet material of her panties was pushed inside her as the pressure from his stiffened tongue increased and she gasped as the soft touch played on her slick inner skin. It made her cry out and she bit her lip again as the sound became too loud.
