Claimed and Bred By The Wolf 2: Pack Initiation (Shapeshifter Erotic Romance) (11 page)

Walking over to the side of the bed, she pulled up the comforter, pried the loose board up and set it aside. She reached into the hole, but came up empty. Frowning she pulled her hand free and peered into the hole. Empty.

What in the hell?
Her brow knit as she searched her memory. Had she left it somewhere? No, she'd put it back the previous evening, just as she had every day since Ian first found it.

Could Ian have taken it? Why?
She only had a moment to ponder the idea when she heard footsteps coming up the stairs from the bottom floor. Getting to her feet she was about to call out to Ian when the source of the footsteps appeared.

"Jeff? What are you..." Her thoughts were cut off as her eyes peered upon the rifle slung onto his shoulders and then lower to the album in his hand.

"Looking for this?" He waved the album at her.

"How did you..." She looked down at the hole and then back up at him.

"Let's just say I've been keeping an eye on you since the Claiming."

"I'm really sorry Jeff. I know I haven't come to say that face to face but-"

"No worries. What you've given me, and will give me will far make up for that little brawl we had."

Trying to keep her cool she walked around the bed and held out her hand for the

album.

"Oh, I think I'll hold onto this. There are some people that will find it very interesting.

I gotta say it should be a good time going on cougar hunt. Once I give this book and tell what I know to the pack, they'll hunt daddy cougar down and rip him to shreds."

Adrianna's mouth dropped open. "Jeff, you can't."

He grinned, a grin so sinister and devious that it made her shutter and her insides curl.

The cougar within her roared, begging to be unleashed.

"I wouldn't consider turning, if I were you." He tossed her beloved album to the floor at their feet and slid the gun from his shoulder, aiming it for her chest. "You'll be dead before you have a chance to turn."

Eyes wide in horror, Adrianna took several steps back from him, wanting as much

distance between them as possible.

"But, there's something I want more than you dead... At least, for now." He shrugged off his jacket and began to undo his belt buckle.

"Wh- What are you doing?" Adrianna scurried behind the bed, battling her confusion and the cougar within as it tore at her to come through. She was thankful for Ian and Garratt's relentless training in containing her shifts otherwise she'd have been dead in less than a minute.

"I've been thinking of that cunt of yours since Ian spread you wide for us. Considering the pain and humiliation you put me through, it's only fair I get a piece."

"That's crazy. We can't. I-" Adrianna made a sprint for the door, but he was quicker.

Grabbing her around the waist, he lifted her off of her feet and carried her over to her mother's bed and tossed her onto it.

Adrianna frantically scrambled up get up but he flipped her to her stomach and placed his knee to the small of her back. She then felt the barrel of the gun being placed at the base of her skull and her body stilled under him.

"Ian will be home soon. Leave now and I'll pretend this never happened."

"If Ian comes home I'll happily shoot him as well. When the old man retires his post as pack leader Ian is in line to take up the pack. Ian..." He laughed, loud and hollow. "The man that has imprinted on one of your kind. Disgusting."

She had to bite her lip to keep from pointing out that fucking one of
her
kind was exactly what he seemed to be intending to do.

Adrianna cringed as he lifted up the skirt of the sundress she was wearing and pulled her panties aside. The barrel of the gun was withdrawn from the back of her head and she heard the clatter of it as Jeff let it fall to the floor.

"Don't fear, if you try to turn I can fetch it from the floor faster than you can turn."

Adrianna trembled under him, frantic to find a way to escape the situation with her life. In human form. Jeff was faster and stronger. And he had the advantage.

Closing her eyes, she attempted to calm herself so she could consider the situation with a clearer head. The unzipping of clothing had her panicking once more and she started to struggle, a scream escaping her lips. The thought of him entering her, made her sick to her stomach.

He grunted as he was set off balance, and for a brief moment his weight was gone

from her back. As she began to push herself up and off of the bed, a strong hand grabbed the back of her neck and once more pinned her to the bed.

"Feisty little bitch. I'm starting to see what Ian sees in you," he snarled as he forced her legs apart and settled on top of her, the head of his cock resting between her legs. She closed her eyes tightly and whimpered, ashamed that she was seconds away from being taken by such a disgusting man.

"What the fuck-"

Ian's voice boomed throughout the room and Jeff froze on top of Adrianna. Seconds later Jeff's weight was gone and there was a loud crash. Flipping onto her back she sat up and stared wide-eyed as the two men brawled.

Her eyes landed on the gun which remained on the floor and she quickly slid from the bed to retrieve it. Snatching it from the floor, she aimed it at the men as she yelled to get their attention.

Both men froze and their eyes turned to her. "Get away from Ian and move to the side, your hands up Jeff," she ordered.

Ian release Jeff and he stepped aside.

Jeff smiled. "You won't do it." He rushed forward intent on obtaining the gun from her grasp. He crossed the room with lightening speed and grabbed the barrel of the gun startling Adrianna and in her surprise her finger pulled the trigger.

The kickback sent her toppling to her bottom as the bullet tore through Jeff with lethal efficiency.

"Oh my God." Adrianna's hands trembled as she dropped the rifle to the floor and crab walked backwards until her back hit the wall. "Oh my God, what have I done Ian?" Her hand trembled as she brought it to her mouth to stifle a scream. Blood covered the room and a lifeless Jeff was slumped against the wall opposite to her.

Ian rushed to her side, and pulled her to her feet. "Go downstairs. I'll take care of this."

Adrianna nodded. On shaky legs she made her way down the flight of stairs and

collapsed onto the sofa.

What have I done? Oh-my-God! What have I done?

*****

"And that's what happened Grant," Ian said to Grant, finishing the pre-discussed version of the story he and Adrianna had decided on, while members of the pack dealt with Jeff's body.

"Jeff was pretty pissed and hot-headed, and we all know he was pissed over Ian being next in line to take over the pack. It makes sense," Garratt agreed. "Unfortunate, but makes sense. He was a timebomb waiting to happen."

Grant sighed. "Well, this whole thing is rather unfortunate." He turned to Adrianna who hadn't said much the entire time, allowing Ian to do all the talking. "I'm very sorry this happened to you Adrianna. Allow me to extend my apologies and that of the pack.

Please know Jeff's feelings towards you are not representative of the rest of us."

Ian squeezed her hand. This was just another thing to add to the list of misfortunes she'd endured recently. For the millionth time he wished he could take away her pain.

"Thank you, Grant. I appreciate it."

"All clear and clean Grant," one of the men yelled as the men began to pile out of the house.

"Alright, thanks." Grant turned back to Ian and Adrianna. "Well, I think we'll be leaving, you guys could use some time to yourselves. You have my word. Nothing like this will
ever
happen again."

Ian and Adrianna muttered their goodbyes and five minutes later the pack was gone and Ian and Adrianna were finally alone. Ian took a moment to check all the windows and locks, before returning to Adrianna who was cuddled on the sofa, under a blanket.

"All clear, Honey." Ian sat on the sofa and pulled her into his arms.

Adrianna snuggled close to him closing her eyes and laying her head on his shoulder.

"Do you think it's over Ian?"

Ian took a deep breath in and released it. "Yeah, I do. This was a horrible thing to happen, but I think what Jeff did will distract the pack. Everything will be fine now, if someone else knew what Jeff knew they would have come forward."

Her body relaxed over him. "So it's over."

"It's over Honey and we can finally live a normal life. We'll still have to keep Max's secret, but the danger has passed. As long as we're careful no one will ever know."

She looked up and their eyes locked. "What would I ever do without you?"

He brushed a strand of hair out of her eyes and kissed the top of her head. "You'd find yourself a cougar shifter and have a slew of baby cubs," he teased.

Adrianna scowled up at him and swatted his shoulder. "Silly."

Laughing, Ian kissed her once more. '"Love you Addy."

A smile touched her lips. "Love you too."

Ian had no idea if what he told her was true or not, but one thing he did know for sure was that he'd do anything it took to keep her safe. Anything.

The End.

Prologue

Selene looked over her shoulder at the dark haired man sprawled out on the queen-

sized cast iron bed, several feet away from her. He was sleeping soundly, one leg coming dangerously close to falling over the side of the mattress. She had fucked him to the point of utter exhaustion, which only took half an hour of her time.

Humans and their lack of stamina,
she thought with a slight grin and a shake of her head; long locks of crimson curls bounced with the movement.

She walked over to the nightstand, opening the top drawer. Rummaging through the

drawer, she found pens, stationary, condoms...

Ahhh there it is
. Towards the back was a thick envelope with her name written in small blue print. Picking it up, she quietly closed the drawer with her hip as she opened the envelope. Quickly she thumbed through the thick stack of hundred dollar bills.

Ten thousand dollars.

Satisfied, her smile widened, not bad for one evening. The man on the bed was named Richard. He was one of her best clients. He valued the discrete
services
she provided -

highly.

Unlike other call girls, other
human
call girls and escorts, she was in a class of her own. Human call girls could role-play; perhaps wearing wigs or costumes to make

themselves into something they weren't. Selene on the other hand could
become
anything, anywhere, at anytime.

Selene opened her tiny gold purse and tucked the envelope into the side compartment.

Walking over to the antique vanity, she pulled out a tube of ruby red lipstick from her purse and applied it.

Concentrating for a moment, she could feel her body making the necessary changes.

Her long crimson curls shortened to shoulder length, straightened and turned jet black.

Her green eyes shimmered, turning from emerald green to sapphire blue. The process was only slightly uncomfortable. Her entire body would sting for several minutes after the shift but the sting would quickly go away.

Her body under the red tube dress changed from curvy to slim. Once the shift was

complete, she patted the dress down, adjusting it to fit her new body. This was the form she normally took, a look similar to that of Uma Thurman in the movie "Pulp Fiction."

She re-applied her mascara and finally decided she looked presentable. Slipping on her black stiletto heeled shoes she took one last look at Richard.

"See you next month, baby," she whispered as she quietly opened the hotel room door and slipped out, closing it silently behind her.

Chapter 1

As she stepped through the glass doors on her way out of the hotel, Selene was hit by the cool New York, October breeze. The breeze forewarned a cold winter season ahead.

She made a mental note to look into migrating to Miami next year for the winter.

Quickly, she made her way across the street to the candy apple red Ferrari parked at the curb. Unlocking the car, she slid into the leather driver’s seat. The car still emanated the new car smell that she loved. She closed her eyes and savoured the smell for a moment.

Selene was about to start the car when her business mobile phone rang. She kept her business mobile in her glove compartment, with the answering service on when she was out with a client.

On the fourth ring she answered: "Lovely Ladies, at your service."

The official name of her company was Lovely Ladies Escort Service, but if the truth were known, she was the only person who worked for the service. The clients, of course, didn't know that. Being able to assume the look or identity of anyone she wanted made it possible to keep it a one girl operation.

Normally, she would have dates five nights a week. She preferred calling them

"dates", it sounded better - to her and to them. Tuesdays and Wednesdays always seemed to end up being her nights off for the week, not that it mattered. She never had any
real
relationships - hazard of the trade she was in, she supposed.

There was a silence on the other end.

"Lovely Ladies," she repeated.

"Hi. Ummm. I need a girl for a night." His voice was deep and sexy, but hesitant. She could tell he was nervous. Many men felt like that way when they placed their first call to an escort service. They all managed to get over the nervousness quickly enough,

however.

"Well then you've called the right place, honey," she cooed.

"I know its short notice, but I need someone for tomorrow night."

Tomorrow night was not only short notice but
also
Friday night. On most weeks there was no way it would have been possible, but it just so happened she had an opening. The man she had pencilled in for the next evening had to cancel. His wife had found out about him using escorts. It was a pity really; she quite enjoyed her time with that one. Not only did he enjoy lavishing her with gifts, but was also fantastic in bed. That was always a bonus for her.
