Deceived - Part 3 Chloe's Revenge (7 page)

I plunged into my work with fervency, hoping to dispel the white noise of the loneliness. The clicking of the keyboard was my weapon against the quiet. I reasoned I could use this time to finish the proposals for Urban Revolution, the client Patrick wanted to persuade to leave the Baroness’ company.

I knew in my head that there was no way he could have avoided going to Florida, while keeping his job, but my head and my heart were having a battle. Patrick had left last night and although I could logically reason that he was just there on a business trip, my emotions were up to no good. All of my good intentions from the other night to not let things bother me, were just the paving stones on my path to hell.

Suddenly a tri-tone chime rose up from my cell phone, laying on the desktop, and my heart skipped a beat, as I saw Patrick’s name glowing across a background picture of him I had snapped while we were in Paris. My reaction was triggered by the unpleasant thought that it might be the Baroness playing tricks on me again, but I shook my head and answered, relieved to hear the familiar timbre of Patrick’s deep voice.

“Hey baby, how are you? I miss you,” he chirped.

“Miss you too, honey. How is Miami?” Crossing my legs, I relaxed back into my chair.

“Sticky.” I could hear the exasperation in his voice. “Very humid but at least the air conditioning works well at this new department store, we are opening.”

“So, what’s the plan for the weekend there?” I asked, curious to find out if the Baroness had scheduled plans that included his evenings, as well as his days. She probably booked her hotel room next to his, or even had an adjoining room.
Bitch
.

“Well, Anna is not even here yet. We are sort of waiting for her to get here before we can move forward with any plans. She has her own private jet and of course, she has to be fashionably late. But I would guess we will be working on marketing plans for this new department store here in Miami. It’s huge. You should see it.”

No thanks. The sharp metal edge of my cell phone dug into the palm of my hand. I really didn’t want to see any of her shit, but I chastised myself to be polite for Patrick’s sake. I didn’t want him to think that I was letting the Baroness get to me, though keeping negative thoughts of her out of my head was like trying to move a mountain, and my response probably came out a little sarcastic. “Yea, I bet it will be a big success and make her even richer than she already is.”

“Probably, but I don’t care about her, Chloe, I care about you. You are my number one priority,” he said in a sincere voice. I smiled to myself, reassured that I could trust him. I marveled at the synchronicity that was developing in our relationship. He knew I was straining at the thought of him being there with her, he could read me like a book, and I certainly, would never win an Oscar for my acting abilities.

“We should focus on getting these proposals ready and I’ll schedule a meeting with our clients next week when I’m back.”

Mentally, I smacked myself and thought, “Attitude adjustment Chloe,” and smiling into the phone, barked out my reply like I was answering a drill sergeant.

“Yes sir, I’m on it.”

His laugh was genuine and his voice was full of adornment, “I’m so happy we made up the other night. I don’t want to fight with you. I hate it when we are mad at each other.”

I looked down at the desk as I talked, doodling little hearts into the pad of note paper, lying half beneath my laptop. “Me too, baby. It made me nervous to think that you were mad at me for not trusting you in this whole situation.”

“I understand. Anyone would be upset after the way the Baroness manipulated that situation in the Hamptons. Hell, I’m still mad. I almost lost the love of my life. You know, she used me too. She wasn’t even in Florida, but she made you believe otherwise and I had no idea she was doing all that.” His voice lowered to a breathy lull. “You know you can trust me, Chloe. I wouldn’t touch that snake in the grass, ever. You are my baby.”

I tipped my head back and sighed a deep breath. “I miss you here, I miss your touch and sleeping next to you. When I sleep alone in your bed, I smell your scent on the pillow and it drives me crazy that I can’t feel you next to me.” My lower lip quivered.

“This will be over soon and everything is going to work out for us. We will get our clients and soon have as much time together as we could ever dream of.”

“I hope so, baby.”

“Gotta run, I still need to go over a couple of things before Anna gets here. I’ll see you tomorrow night.”

“Okay baby. I love you,” I said.

“Love you more.”

After we ended the call, I gently placed the phone back on the desk, and pulled my knees up to my chin, wrapping both arms around my legs, procrastinating about the work at hand. I wanted to get lost in a Patrick infused daydream for just a few more minutes before getting back to work.

~*~*~

After, what seemed like the longest weekend ever, Patrick was finally about to come home from Miami. I ran around the apartment cleaning up the last of the dirty dishes in the sink and tidying up. He had just texted that he was on his way from the airport and I was beside myself with excitement. I had finished all the proposals and couldn't wait to show him my work. I was pretty proud of myself, I had stuck to our schedule, burying myself in work all weekend. I knew the minute he walked through the door though, I would jump on him and wrap my legs around his waist.

I heard the click of the door and sure enough, I bounded towards it, practically knocking him over, suitcase and all.

“Whoa, someone’s glad to see me,” he exclaimed. He gave a light laugh and catching his balance, let the momentum of my attack spin the two of us around in a circle.

“I thought you would never get here,” I said, breathing heavily from my Olympic high jump. I released him from my grip and let him finish putting his bag down and get settled, chatting non-stop about his flight.

“Are you hungry? Do you want me to make you something to eat? Or do you just want to sit and relax for a while?”

“Um no, not really hungry. Maybe in a bit.” He continued to unpack and put the items from his suitcase away. Something wasn’t right. I sensed that he was acting a little strangely. My heart twisted with a sour note. I plunked myself down on the bed and as he turned to me from putting away clothes in a drawer, I addressed him squarely with a stern face.

“Patrick, what’s going on? You are acting strange. Is there something you’re not telling me?” I waited with my heart pounding, my mouth was dry and I braced myself for the worse.

Halfway to putting his shirt in the closet, he set it aside and pursed his lips. “I may as well tell you now. I promised you that I would not keep anything from you again.” He sighed and shoved his hand through his hair as he paced the floor in front of me.

My heart was pounding even harder as I waited for what was to come.

“Chloe, I know you don’t like to hear about the Baroness but, well, once she finally made it down to Miami, she called me and said she wanted a private meeting.”

I crossed my arms across my chest and closed my eyes as I shook my head. “And I suppose she wanted that to take place in her hotel suite, just you and her?”

Patrick grimaced and peeking one eye open said, “Well, um, yes.”

“Oh God, I knew it.” I put my head down and bit my lower lip.

“But wait Chloe, I know it sounds bad but it’s not what you think. Nothing like that happened. Let me finish.”

I couldn't bear to look at him. My nails were digging into the palm of my hands in tight fists.

“She said that she wants to give me a promotion. She wants to make me CEO of the ad agency, plus pay me a bonus of a million dollars. Chloe, do you realize that I would have had to wait years for this opportunity if the company was still Meyer and Meyer? This is everything I have ever wanted in my career, CEO of a billion dollar company. It would be realizing my dream, it would be attaining the highest degree of accomplishment in the business world. But...”

“But what, Patrick?” My stomach was twisting into knots and I felt sick.

“There was one condition. She told me I could never see
you
again.”

“So, are you breaking up with me?” My heart was pounding and I could barely get the words out my mouth was so dry.

“I’m here, aren't I, Chloe?” He gazed at me with sincerity. “Of course I didn’t accept her proposal. I’m not for sale, not even for a million dollars.” He stepped forward to me as I sat on the bed and knelt down in front of me wrapping his arms around my waist and looking up into my eyes, he said, “After a demand like that, I realized that there’s no way this could go on any longer. I had no desire to spend another minute working for such a venomous human being, so I resigned.” He laid his head down on my lap nuzzling his head into my legs. “You are my world now, Chloe.”

I stroked his hair gently with my hands, the rushing blood settling in my veins to a normal pace again, relieved that my worst case scenario hadn’t transpired.

“Oh Patrick, I’m so proud of you for standing up to her, baby. Things will work out. The client will love the proposals and we will get the new company off to a great start.”

He stood up, looking like a heavy weight had been lifted off his shoulders. “So, did you finish?”

“”Yes, they are ready and I can’t wait to show you.” I stood up and started heading for the office to retrieve the paperwork.

“Wait.” He grabbed my wrist to stop me. “I have a surprise for you.” He smiled wryly. I raised an eyebrow and a smile drew across my face.

He walked over to his suitcase and removed a small silver box from the interior pouch, with a ribbon tied around it. “Here, this is for you.” He said extending the box for me to take. I slipped the ribbon off and gingerly lifted the lid.

“Oh Patrick, it’s beautiful!” The lights of the room reflected off the facets of a delicate diamond platinum bracelet.

“A beautiful bracelet for a beautiful woman.”

“I love it, baby.” Clutching the box, I threw my arms around his neck and gave him a big kiss, rising up on my toes.

“Let’s put it on. I want to see how it looks on you.” Removing it from the box, I draped it over my wrist and he assisted me with the clasp, kissing the inside of my wrist after it was in place. “I want to see you in my bed, wearing nothing but
that
bracelet and a pair of really hot, high heels.” He pulled my body close to his and he moved me backwards to the bed, as we kissed. He tore my pink, t-shirt off over my head, stopping our kiss just long enough for the shirt to pass between our lips. Tugging and pawing at his shirt, I frantically wrestled it off of him, tossing it to the ground. Grabbing my face with both hands, he pulled me in and claimed my mouth with his tongue. He released me, and losing my balance I sat down on the edge of the bed, both of us panting breathlessly. We stared at each for a moment, and I said in a hoarse voice, “I'll get the shoes.”

“I’ll take off these pants...” he mumbled, and quickly stripped off all remaining clothes.

I rolled to the side of the bed, ripping off my summer shorts and all, clambering to reach for a pair of silver, glittery, sling back high heels I had left on the floor to the side of the bed. I dove back onto the bed, striking a sexy pose, laying on my back, with my legs apart, knees bent, and the spiky heels of my sexy shoes, poking dents into the bedspread. I had my back up against the headboard and I threw my arms up over my head, so he could see the bracelet, stroking my hand down the arm with the diamonds. I smiled and arched my back, teasing, to come get me.

When he turned around and saw me posing on the bed, I swear I heard a growl erupt from his throat. The man was practically salivating. I felt the blood rush through my body, as my eyes drank in his velvety smooth protrusion, coming to attention.

“Oo hoo hoo hoo, baby, you are so hot....damn,” he hissed, drinking in the sight of me on his bed, just the way he wanted, heels and the bracelet. Slowly, he crept up on the bed, sliding one hand up my leg, he knelt between my knees, his large cock pulsing to a massive erection. Grabbing my ankle from underneath, he slowly extended my leg into the air, pushing it up against his chest. Sliding his hands up and down my leg, he kissed my ankle, pressing the fullest part of my leg against his hard cock. I felt the slippery wetness of a few drops of his pre-cum, against my skin, as he used the happy lubrication in his favor. I loved feeling those begging, pleading, tears of his wetness, that come every time, that confirmation, that he wants me, so desperately, as if he can't wait one more minute, or he’ll burst.

“Do you like me in these heels? Do you want to fuck me in these heels?” I panted with parted lips, egging him on. Grabbing my breasts, I squeezed them up, making the nipples point up to the ceiling and rolled my head to one side. I closed my eyes in order to heighten my sense of touch, to feel every sensation to its fullest.

“These shoes, make your legs look so good...I’m going to fuck your damn leg, baby,” he growled, and he snapped my extended leg down, catching his erection at the back of my knee, as my leg bent. Holding my leg bent, with his cock wedged in the bend of my knee, he thrust his hips, stroking his hard on with my leg, using both of his hands to press, push and pull. “I want to fuck every part of your body,” he rasped as he took one more stroke. My eyes popped open with that thought, damn, that’s sexy, he wants to fuck all of me, and I wanted him to fuck every part of me, every inch of me, if that were at all possible.

Sliding his hand down my inner thigh, he released his cock from the crook of my knee, and slid his fingers into my wetness, fondling and stroking me, to hear me moan. In all the writhing, I had slid down from having my back up against the headboard, and with one leg up on his shoulder, he worked his magic with his fingers, like he was playing a fine instrument, until he wound me up to the top of my orgasm. “Fuck me, Patrick, just fuck me, I’m ready to come,” I begged and screamed.

Snagging my other leg, he threw that one up over his other shoulder, and holding me with both of my legs, straight up against his torso, he slammed his diamond cutter into me, releasing the smell of sex to filter across my senses, until he crested the wave, and our bodies stilled.
