Deuce gave him a few quarters and watched as the little boy went to a nearby video game and got ready to steer a rocket ship to Mars.
Leaning across the table, he took Pilar's hands in his and let his eyes travel over her lovely face. When she smiled, his whole world lit up. "You okay about meeting my folks this week?"
She nodded. "I'm ready."
"They'll love you just as much as I do, Pilar."
Pilar bit her lower lip.
He cupped her chin and gave her a firm stare that brought on a shy smile.
Deuce squeezed her hands. He loved his little dancer and could hardly wait to get her back home to sway with her once again.
