Dragon's Blood (Black Planet Book 1) (12 page)

A Note to The Reader:

The Black Planet series was originally published back in 2008 and 2009. Initially, it published out of order. Dragon’s Blood is the first in the series, but it wound up being released as the second in the series. This time around, it’s all coming in the correct order.

I have revised this book, initially I was limited in the word count, I’ve taken the opportunity to expand here and there, making the book flow a little better.

About the Book

The idea for this book came to me while I was celebrating the release of another book. My standing appointment to donate blood was the same day Missing You was released, so instead of having a glass of champagne, I was in a recliner chair, trying not to succumb to my needle phobia while I was donating a pint. I was distracting myself by looking at portraits of local people who’d received life-saving donations and realized I knew one of them. She was the daughter of a former co-worker. So of course, I started spinning stories about a lethal blood disease, and how it morphed into a form of vampirism. I went home, took some notes and in the following days, wrote this story.

Donating blood is so very important, and yet so few people actually do it. If you are interested in saving lives, please contact your local blood center or the Red Cross. You can make a difference.
