Dylan and Taylor (Soul Mates 101 Series) (19 page)

I giggle. He’s so damn cute. “I swear I’m not talking about anything we did. The girls are giving me grief about ... um ... the moaning.”

“I’m just checking since my buddies and I are under the impression that we’d be cut off from sex if we share a single detail of what you women are willing to do under the sheets, or on the sheets, or in the shower, or on the—”

“Gosh, Dylan, I see you’re back to your old self,” Chelsea says.

Dylan winks as he prowls closer to me. “Don’t worry. I already told the guys I don’t want them picturing you doing anything, so your secrets are safe with me.”

I roll my eyes as I stand and put my arms around his neck. “Good to know, sweetie.” Putting my mouth to his ear, I whisper, “We need to add some places to your list. The bed and shower are not creative enough.” I play with the back of his hair and take his earlobe into my mouth, circling it with my tongue.

He yanks my arms down. “Dammit, Taylor. That’s not even funny when I have to keep my hands off of you.”

“That’s what you get for getting me turned on in the hallway and tickling me. Don’t underestimate how alike we are.”

Dylan turns around, and I notice him adjusting his jeans on his way back to his game of pool. I sit back down, grinning with satisfaction as the girls bust out laughing.

For at least two hours, we drink wine and giggle while practicing different ways of fixing each other’s hair from the tutorials we’re watching on YouTube. I feel so blessed to be back around my girlfriends.

Matt strolls into the room, and it’s noticeable that he’s consumed too many beers. He walks over to Morgan and grabs her hand. “Will you please come to bed with me?”

“No, Matt, not tonight. You’re drunk, so just go to sleep. Have you already forgotten what happened today because that wouldn’t surprise me?”

He swiftly pulls her up into his arms and kisses her hard. “Don’t make me sleep without you.”

This has to be awkward for my friends. It sure is for me. Morgan gazes up into his glazed eyes.

“Please, baby,” he says.

“OK.” she sighs before he pulls her behind him to the stairs.

“I can’t believe she gave in to him,” Chelsea says.

Jasmine looks at Chelsea. “She’s had a lot to drink. We should probably cut her a break tonight.”

“You’re right, and she told us she’d deal with it when she got home,” Hannah adds.

The next thing I know, Dylan’s standing in front of me, holding his hand out. Butterflies flutter in my stomach when I see there’s no humor in his eyes. We’ve both had a few drinks so my inhibitions have been drowned by alcohol and desire. I just want to rip his clothes off.

He follows me into my room, and the second I hear the door shut, I spin around. Our eyes lock for about two seconds before our hands are all over each other. He plunges his tongue into my mouth as his hands tangle in my hair. Desire gushes through me as I wrap my arms around his waist, kissing him back with fervor.

I slide my hands down into the back of his jeans onto his toned ass and squeeze hard. He surrenders my mouth and devours my neck, licking and sucking it. I can hardly take the erotic feel of his searing breath on my neck, so I begin yanking his shirt off, wanting to feel all of his flesh.

For over half a freakin’ year, this is the way I fantasized about having sex with Dylan. Then I would be furious with myself for wanting him. I knew if we ever hooked up there would be this kind of passion, so I’m actually surprised it’s just now happening this way.

We strip the remaining clothes off each other as quickly as possible, all our pent up lust gushing from us. Once I’m just in my lacy, purple thong, Dylan stops moving and looks at me.

“I would soak up this view longer, but I can’t wait to touch you,” he says before he picks me up and carries me to the bed. I scoot to the center and admire his body from head to toe, watching the movements of his sexy, streamlined muscles as he puts on a condom.

“I swear, Dylan, you have the hottest body, and I need it on me.” As if my words tore through his last thread of self-control, he spreads my legs, and with one grab of my panties, he rips them off before plunging inside me, burying himself time after time.

A sheet of pleasure splays over me with every thrust, a tingling sensation spreading from my core. It radiates out to my extremities until I’m completely possessed by it. Completely owned by Dylan.

He lets out a sharp growl as his swollen flesh collides against my release. He stills and trembles, clinging to me as if I’m his only link to survival. “You own me, Taylor. You fucking own me.”

“I think I’m the one who’s owned. How about we just love each other a whole lot.”

He chuckles, and the joyful vibration fills my ear. “If that’s what you want to call it, sunshine, but I feel there’s something deeper than love between us.” Dylan gets up and before I know it, he has me pulled tight against him. It’s my favorite place to be.

Dylan is staring at me when I open my eyes, anxiety written all over his face. The day has come when we’ll have to go our separate ways, and temporary or not, we’re dreading it. The first week of a relationship doesn’t normally consist of spending every sleeping moment together and most of the waking, but nothing about our relationship has been normal to this point.

“Everything’s going to be OK.” I reach over to play with his disheveled hair.

“I’m not gonna lie. I’m worried. I live in an old house with three other dudes, and I work as an electrician. That’s going to become very evident to you soon.”

“We’re not doing this. I don’t care how much money you make or what job you do, and contrary to your belief up until this week, I’ve never thought I was better than you. I love you for who you are on the inside and also for this luscious body, so shut it.” I hold a finger over his mouth.

He grabs my finger and lightly bites it. “I love you. I’m worried about something else.”

“What?”

“Please tell me I didn’t rip a hundred dollar pair of panties off of you.”

“They were actually two hundred, but that’s OK.”

Dylan’s illuminating green eyes enlarge.

“I’m just kidding.”

He grabs both of my hands. “Do we need to be tickled again?”

“No, please don’t. Initiation over.”

Dylan becomes serious again as he runs a hand down my hair. “I have very little self-control with you. You’re making me an animal, so I need to put the brakes on before I accidentally hurt you. I’ve never ripped clothing off before.”

“There’s been a lot of firsts for me too this week, and I’ve loved every second of it. Please don’t hold back with me.”

Dylan starts laughing. I’m talking about one of those deep belly laughs.

“What’s so funny?”

“I thought growing up around all those men in the music business would’ve given you a little more insight into how our brains work, but I was mistaken. We
always
have to hold back, sweetheart.”

“Well, I’ve loved all of it, so I don’t see what the problem is.” I try to say it with attitude and confidence. I don’t like how sexually experienced he is, but I also don’t like how inexperienced I am. I admit I feel a need to appear tougher and braver with him than I am.

“Don’t get mad at me, but I was sure you were a prude. Of course, that was before I knew who your daddy is.”

He’s giving me his signature grin. The kind that I’ve now decided is ninety-five percent charm and only five percent bullshit.

“I’m not a prude,” I say peeved.

“You don’t say.” With his hand on his stomach, he laughs again.

“You’re a pill, Dylan! I was about to say, ‘What do I have to do to prove I’m not a prude, swing on a damn pole?’”

His eyebrows raise, and he points at me. “Now, there’s a sight I need to see. You do that, and then I won’t think you’re a prude.”

He instantly holds his hands over his face. I’m guessing he expects me to hit him. I cover his face with my pillow instead. He throws it and yanks me into his arms, hugging me snugly for several minutes. “I don’t want to go home,” I say with my face against his neck while nothing but love surrounds us.

“This is home right here, Taylor. No matter where we are.”

Virtual Reality

Dylan

After opening the back of the Escalade, I spot the thin, long sleeve shirt Taylor was wearing during our ride to the cabin. My heart sets out on a race again as I think about kissing Taylor back here and sleeping against her smooth skin.

She sees the shirt and peers up at me shyly as we put the suitcases in, which is really cute after everything we’ve done. I shut the hatch and pull her into my chest.

Feeling as if I’m never going to see her again, I kiss her forehead. Could I be any more whipped? Seeing Taylor’s shirt makes me very aware of how much has happened in a very short period of time.

“Dude, she’s riding with you,” Matt says, walking past us to the car.

Cody comes walking toward us next. “I didn’t think any couple could be more sickening in love than Brett and Hannah. You two are proving me wrong.”

We’re about half way home when I feel Taylor’s gaze on me. I glance to her. “What? I see your wheels turning over there. I hope it’s something dirty going through that pretty head of yours.”

“Dylan, when are you going to play for me?”

I frown. This is not what I want to discuss. “I don’t know. I only feel comfortable playing in front of strangers.”

“You should already know that’s not going to fly with me.”

I take a deep breath. “I figured as much, but I had to try.”

“I heard plenty already to know how talented you are, and I’ll make you believe that.”

I grab her hand and hold it between us. “I understand why this is important to you, but you need to let it go. I’ll play for you soon, but this is a hobby for me, nothing more.”

“It could be more, and you told me yourself on the way down here that it would be your first choice. I’ve heard every great guitarist play in person, and I’m telling you with all my heart that you’re just as good if not better, and I swear I would’ve told you that even if we didn’t get together.”

“Taylor, stop. I don’t need a stroke to my ego. I know I don’t play that good.”

“No, you stop. You are that good, and I don’t appreciate you acting like I don’t know what I’m talking about.” She yanks her hand away from me.

“Don’t do this, please. We finally worked things out, and I don’t want this to cause problems between us.” I look over at her frequently.

“But you won’t even say you’ll consider it. You don’t need to be intimidated because of my dad. He’ll find you just as great, I know so.”

“Taylor, he’s not hearing me sing.” She should be catching on to my irritation by now. This is really pissing me off. I see her arms cross in my peripheral vision.

“You’re so stubborn!”

“Right back atcha, sweetheart. Now stop before I pull this SUV over and drag you to the back. You’re making me angry and turned on all at the same time.”

She lets out a big sigh and leans her head against the window. It’s reminding me way too much of the time we were not getting along in this vehicle. I don’t like it, so I pull over on the side of the interstate.

Taylor looks over at me with round eyes, and I know her mouth is about to open. It’s a damn good thing I know what that bossy mouth of hers can do.

“I’m not getting back there and having sex with you. I’m upset.”

“I’m not trying to have sex with you. I’m sorry. I know you’re trying to help me, but I need you to think about what kind of changes I’m already going to be adjusting to.” I take hold of her hand.

“My girlfriend is the daughter of my idol, Vincent Page. In my eyes, he’s the greatest guitarist of all times. I have very little money, yet I’m dating a multi-millionaire’s daughter.”

“But I don’t care about the—”

“Let me finish, Taylor.” I shift my body to face her better and put both her hands between mine. Why I think trapping her hands is going to keep her other trap shut is beyond me.

“We haven’t even coordinated our schedules yet to see when we can be together, and I can’t even think about sleeping a night without you, so playing guitar for a living is not a priority for me right now.

“Getting to spend time with you is all I care about and also knowing that even though we live polar opposite lives, we will find a way to have a relationship.”

“I respect that, but I need to know that you’ll at least consider it.” She gives me that pitiful yet somehow sexy look, and I turn to mush.

“I promise I’ll consider letting your dad hear me play, but please let this go for a while. I’m going to struggle as it is to concentrate on my classes and work since you’re going to be the absolute only thing on my mind.”

“You said really sweet things, and I was being a bitch. I’m sorry. I just love you so much and want you to have the opportunity you deserve, but I’ll let it go for now.” She leans in, and we share a heated kiss.

“Can we count that as a fight? I have a feeling make-up sex with you will be awesome,” I say as I tilt my head toward the back of the Escalade. In a blink, we’re both climbing between the seats, and the next fifteen minutes are total fucking bliss.

Damn. I had no idea sex could feel this good, and I had no idea it’d be so thrilling in a vehicle. It was quick since we could get caught, but that just made it more thrilling.

I have an inkling that Dylan will avoid meeting my dad as long as possible, and I know he will always be on edge about our relationship until he sees that Vincent will be cool with him. When we get close to home, I text my mom.

Me:
Mom, is Dad around today?

Mom:
He’s here. Will you be home soon?

Me:
Yes, and I want him to meet Dylan. He’s so great, Mom.

Mom:
That’s wonderful, honey.

Me:
Dad is Dylan’s idol, and he’s terrified to meet him. I hate to be mean, but I need to spring it on him, or he’ll never come to the house. If I text you when we’re almost there, will you tell Dad to be around?
