Dyno almost looked like his eyes were wet too. I’d never seen him looking so adorable on his knees like that, his hair standing up all bushy. “Aw, April. Don’t cry.”

“I’m not!” I cried. “I just…
Yes
. Of
course
I’m saying yes. A thousand times yes!”

The ring slid perfectly onto the ring finger of my cuffed hand. Dyno stood, slithering his body against mine the entire way. He took my chin in his hand.

“Then it’s settled. We can get married right here, in the chapel. No reason to make a big deal out of it.” His eyebrows rose. “Less’n you want to. Make a big deal, I mean. Cliff might get ornery if his daughter eloped.”

“No. Let’s elope. Let’s save the money to decorate the nursery in Quarry Cave House.” Dyno was living with me while we rebuilt Javier’s old cow boss ranch house. “I’ve got a feeling we’ll be needing it after that superb fuck.”

Dyno grinned in that sheepish way of men who’ve just delivered a superb fuck. “Good. Let’s get this baby-making machine into gear.”

He unlocked my last cuff while I admired my new bling. Marcus had had a prenup with that bimbo wife, so she didn’t automatically get his half of our ranch. To my utter shock, Marcus had a will listing
me
as the heir to his half. I could implement Dyno’s ranching ideas without asking my dad for permission first. Dyno and I were pretty autonomous, especially nowadays with my dad spending so much time traveling with Sadie.

All I had to do was throw on a thin shift, step into my sandals, and open the door to the passageway. Our cruise ship was just heading into Cabo San Lucas on its way to Puerta Vallarta. We could get married in port. Dyno had told me about losing the fundraising bid to Mason Simon, so it was only fitting he’d gone out and purchase our own trip later, after firing Mason as CEO. We hired a new Ivy Leaguer to run our executive operations, someone not connected to us by blood.

The warm air feathered my face. My fiancé had put on a tank top that said “Someone in Puerta Vallarta Hearts Me!” He was really, really trying to be a good husband.

We were getting older, cornier, more mature. I was glad we’d grown out of that teenaged, angsty drama. We could move forward now as a team, not against each other, but on the same page.

He offered me his arm. “Darling stepsister?”

I hit him. “You rat.” I took his arm anyway. “Darling fiancé. Darling fiancé of mine.”

We started walking toward the buffet. We knew the way like the back of our hands.

“You gonna hit up the ceviche again?” I asked him.

“I don’t want to pile my plate with it. Maybe I’ll graze on a variety of offerings from the sea.”

“The jumbo prawns were excellent. Fresh.”

“That one salsa was hotter than blue blazes.”

I knew we’d make it.

If you ain’t living on the edge, you’re taking up too much room.

The rose-colored illusion of Madison Shellmound’s girlish crush on biker Ford Illuminati is stomped into smithereens by his crude father Cropper, Bare Bones motorcycle club President. Fearing Ford will kill Cropper if he finds out, Madison flees, becoming an upstanding cardiology nurse.

Madison and Ford have an ill-fated, star-crossed love that will last their lifetimes. Ford is a lifer in a different sort of enterprise, the gritty full-throttle club of guns, blood, and allegiance to his brothers. Twelve years and several tours of SEAL duty later, Ford is thrust back into Madison’s arms on the worst day of his life. Madison’s prospect brother Speed has screwed up big-time and owes the club his life. She offers herself to Cropper as a sacrificial lamb to save Speed.

But how long until the fiery, full-on outlaw Ford discovers that the woman he loves was treated like a degraded slave by his own father? Well, meet the new boss. He’s not the same as the old boss.
