Edge of Love (23 page)

She rose back to a stand and I
unbuttoned her jacket. When I took it off, I felt a lump form in my
throat. She was wearing black lingerie. The bra pushed her breasts
together, making eye-catching cleavage, and she wore a thin black
thong. She looked damn fine. I was excited by the sight. Underneath
that jacket that was all she was wearing. And it was all for
me.

Damn,
Scarlet.”

She grabbed my cock and stoked me
gently. “Do you like it?”

Yeah, babe.” My breaths
came out weak as she jerked me. I was already on the verge of
exploding.

She pushed me back on the bed and
pinned me to the mattress. She leaned over me and I could see her
breasts hang over her bra because it was so tight. I felt my body
shake.

I want to fuck you, Scar.
Hard.”

I know.” She smiled at me
then bent her head over my crotch.

Before her lips touched my head, I
felt my body tense with excitement. I loved getting head. I wanted
to fuck her, but I also wanted this. Her wet lips surrounded me and
I moaned loudly. “Scar.” Her tongue circled my head and sent waves
of pleasure through my body. I grabbed her head and pushed my dick
inside of her throat. I felt the tip reach all the way inside. She
gave amazing head. She was always able to take me entirely and she
never gagged. “Fuck yes.” When I felt the orgasm building, I pulled
her mouth away. I didn’t want to come yet without getting her off
first.

I’m fine, Sean. Let me
please you.”

I moaned. “I want you to
come.”

She lowered her head down again. “Let
me prove how sorry I am.”

I leaned my head back and closed my
eyes, surrendering to her moves. When I felt myself start to come
again, I pulled her mouth away. Before she could protest, I pulled
her on the bed and climbed on top of her. I threw her legs over my
shoulders then slipped inside her.

She moaned as I stretched her. She was
soaked.

Yeah, Sean.”

I pounded into her quickly. Her body
immediately clenched around me and I knew she was about to have an
orgasm. She was already so aroused it didn’t take much work on my
part. I felt like I was ready to explode, so I tried to think of
other things so I wouldn’t come. The sound of her screams made it
difficult to concentrate on anything else. Her breasts jiggled
while I pounded into her. When she grabbed my ass and pulled me
deeper into her, I knew she was coming. Her nails bit into me and
she was screaming. I knew the neighbors would complain in the
morning, but right now I couldn’t care less. I wanted to give
Scarlet as much pleasure as she gave me. When her moment was over,
I rolled on my back. “Now you can make me come.”

She climbed on top of me and went down
on me again. I fisted her hair as I watched her shove my dick in
and out of her mouth. The sensation of her tongue and the view of
her sucking my cock was enough to make me explode. I leaned my head
back and closed my eyes. “I’m coming.”

She moved faster.

Yeah, I’m coming. Fuck
Yeah.” I felt myself explode inside of her and I moaned as the
orgasm rocked my body. She kept going, making my orgasm last as
long as possible. My body trembled as the pleasure overcame me in
waves. It felt so good that I couldn’t stop. “Scarlet,
babe.”

When I was done, I lied still and
caught my breath. Scarlet crawled on top of me and straddled my
hips. She started to rub her fingers into my muscles, giving my
arms and chest a massage. It felt really good. I came while lying
still and now I was getting a massage. I felt my mind become
blurry. I knew what she was doing. If I fell asleep, she could stay
here and sleep with me.

You can’t sleep here,” I
whispered.

She continued to rub me and didn’t
respond. Her fingers moved to the back of my neck and it felt
wonderful. I overcame the pleasure I was feeling and sat
up.

I’ll take you
home.”

She sighed then crawled off of me. She
pulled her panties back on and buttoned up her coat. She didn’t say
anything, but I knew she was hurt by my words. I told her I was
taking advantage of her to begin with. I never lied to her about my
intentions. I dressed myself then we left the apartment.

We didn’t speak on the cab ride home.
It was slightly awkward. I kept glancing down to her thigh, knowing
that she was almost naked underneath. It was enough to make any man
melt. When we arrived at the building, I escorted her to Ryan’s
apartment. When we reached the door, I waited for her to grab her
keys and insert them in the door. She just stood there.

I said nothing and waited for her to
go inside.

Suddenly, a tear fell down her
cheek.

Babe, what’s wrong?” I
grabbed her face and pressed my nose against hers. “Tell me.” I
kissed the tear away.

Do you love
me?”

Do you really need to ask
that?”

Are you going to take me
back? I said I was sorry and I meant it. Please don’t torture me
like this.”

I hated this. I hated hurting her.
“I’m still angry, Scar. I can’t pretend that everything is okay
when it’s not. I love you more than anything, I’m spending the rest
of my life with you, but I just need space—that’s it. There is
nothing for you to worry about.”

Please don’t leave me.
Don’t leave me for that girl.”

Look at me.”

She locked her gaze with
mine.

Never. It’s only you,
Scar. No one else. I love you forever.”

She took a deep breath.

Please don’t worry about
that. We’re still getting married and I’m still yours, but I need
time apart from you. I’m still pissed at you and I don’t know if I
can trust you again.”

So, we may not get back
together?”

I sighed. “I didn’t say that. I just
need time to get over everything. I love you so much and I can’t be
around you and act like an ass to you—you don’t deserve that. My
love for you is unconditional. You don’t need to worry about
that.”

She sniffed.

Babe, it’ll be fine. I
need some time to cool off. After your behavior for the past week,
I’ve been really sick of your bullshit. The fight we had about the
wedding never should have happened. You were being selfish the
entire time, and now this Cortland thing. It’s—it’s too much for
me. I need some time apart.”

She started to cry. “I’m really sorry,
Sean. I would take it back if I could.”

I kissed her on the forehead. “Babe, I
know.”

She wiped her tears away. “Tell me you
love me.”

I looked into her eyes. “I love you
more than anything in the world. You could do anything to me and I
would always forgive you. I just need time, that’s all. I’m not
trying to hurt you.”

She nodded. “I know.”

I love you, Scar. I love
you.”

I love you
too.”

If these midnight
fuckings are too painful for you, then we can stop.”

I want to make
love.”

I was quiet for a moment. “I can’t
make love to you—not yet.”

She nodded. “They don’t bother
me.”

Okay.”

I get horny
too.”

I nodded. “And I don’t want to relieve
those feelings with anyone else but you. I love being with you.
When I said you were the best I ever had, I meant it.”

Okay.”

And Scar, if you ever
need anything please call me. I need space right now, but if you
really need me, I’m here for you—always.”

I know.”

We were quiet for a long
time.

You should go inside
now,” I said.

She nodded. “Okay.” She turned around
and got the key in the door.

I pressed my chest against her back
then kissed her neck. “I love you.”

I love you,
too.”

When she got the door opened, I walked
away and returned to my apartment. Now that I had gotten laid, I
was finally able to fall asleep.

Scarlet

Where were you last
night?” Ryan asked when I walked to the kitchen table.

I glared at him. “None of your
business.”

You’re staying in my
apartment. Yes it is my fucking business. I’m supposed to look
after you.”

I rolled my eyes. “I was with
Sean.”

Janice smiled. “Midnight
humping?”

I laughed. “Yes.”

Are you back together
then?” she asked.

I sighed. “No.”

Ryan raised an eyebrow. “Then what the
hell is going on?”

He says he needs space,
but we miss each other sometimes,” I said.

Ryan got angry. I wasn’t sure why he
was upset, but I knew he was. “So, he’s just using you? Taking
advantage of you because you’re the one who was wrong?”

I shook my head. “It’s not like
that.”

Ryan glared at me. “I think it
is.”

We’re still getting
married,” I argued. “And we’re faithful to each other. But we’re
fighting right now.”

Why can’t you fight while
you live together?” Ryan asked. “What happens when you do get
married? You’re just going to run here?”

No,” I said.

Are you sure?” Ryan
said.

Yes.”

He shook his head. “I don’t know about
this anymore, Scar.”

What do you mean?” I
asked.

You guys fight so much,”
Ryan said. “Janice and I have been living together for a while, and
when she moved in we barely knew each other. We hardly ever fight,
and when we do, neither one of us leaves.” He looked at me. “That
argument about the wedding was so stupid, Scar. I’m sorry but it
shouldn’t have happened. And what was the first thing you did? You
ran from him. If you had just stayed there and worked it out, all
of this may never have happened. I don’t know if you are right
together.”

I felt my heart fall. “You mean you
don’t think I’m good for him?”

He sighed. “I just think you need to
start reevaluating yourself, Scar. I know Sean made mistakes, but
he’s redeemed himself in every way. You, on the other hand, are
being ridiculous. To be honest, if Janice acted like that I
wouldn’t put up with it.” He looked at Janice. ‘Sorry,
baby.”

She smiled. “It’s okay.”

I sighed. “I admit that I was being
childish about the wedding, but I still feel the same why about it.
I don’t want to get married there.”

It isn’t just that,
Scar,” he said. “You can’t run away every time it gets bad. First,
you ran from New York, and then you ran from Sean, now you are
running from him again—just stop doing it! I know you’re better
than this. Sean is a great guy. I don’t want you to keep fucking up
until he eventually gives up and realizes you aren’t worth
it.”

I ran my hand through my hair and
tried to cover my face.

Ryan bowed his head. “I’m sorry, Scar.
I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.”

I didn’t say anything.

He stared at me. “And I think Sean is
justified in being upset about the Cortland fiasco, especially when
you were livid with him for not being completely honest with
you.”

I sniffed. “I get it,
Ryan.”

But I know the guy loves
you because he’s stupid and he’ll work this out with you. He knows
you’ve never had a real relationship before. He’ll be patient with
you. Just learn from your mistakes.”

I nodded. “Okay.”

Do you want me to talk to
him?” he asked.

No,” I said. “Just leave
him alone.”

Ryan sighed. “Okay.” He took a drink
of his coffee and returned it to the table. “Are you going to
change, Scar?”

I already
did.”

He nodded. “Good. I think you should
go over and tell him that.”

I don’t want to bother
him.”

Ryan shrugged. “It wouldn’t hurt. Then
we can go play basketball.”

I sighed. “I don’t feel like
it.”

Too bad. Now get
going.”

Ryan?”

What?”

Thanks.”

He smiled at me. “I’m just glad you
don’t hate me.”

I could
never.”

I know.”

Sean

I woke up late this morning, but I
slept really well. I still wasn’t used to Scarlet not sleeping
beside me but I managed to fall asleep eventually. I missed her. It
was a weird feeling. I was livid with her, but I missed her at the
same time. I really wanted our relationship to go back to normal,
but I couldn’t. I needed time.
