Ember couldn’t think with him standing so close. Shame crashed in on the heels of her fear. She’d had sex not once, but twice with a man who’d used her. She had no idea why, but she’d find out while he sat in jail. “I’m calling the police. You can tell your story to them.”

He grabbed hold of her arms when she attempted to duck around him. “Would you please just listen?”

“Did you enjoy using me?” Her voice broke.

He jerked as if slapped. “I know what you’re thinking—”

“You don’t know shit about me, Angel…or is that even your real name?” She couldn’t prevent the catch in her voice or the tears that sprang in her eyes.

“Please don’t cry… I’m sorry.” His head lowered. “Listen, I—”

Ember took advantage and brought her knee up into the very thing that had given her so much pleasure earlier.

His hands dropped immediately as he clutched the front of his shorts. A wounded sound came from his throat.

Ember darted around him. She didn’t dare look behind her as she ran up the stairs and inside his condo. She sped past the kitchen where they had just made love, down the hall, through his bedroom, and onto the balcony.

She climbed over the railing with shaky legs and almost fell on the annoying palm tree in her haste to get away. The door stood open from their earlier departure, and she couldn’t have been more grateful. She quickly ran inside, pulled the glass door shut behind her, engaged the lock, and jerked the curtain closed. Her legs gave out, and she sank to her knees, sucking in great gulps of air.

The feeling of not being alone in the room raised the hairs on her arms. She went completely still, afraid to turn around and look.

“Ember.”

Oh my God. No.

I'm a 911 dispatcher turned romance author. I have been in love with romance for over twenty years. To say I'm addicted to reading is an understatement. My e-book reader is an extension of me and holds many of my fantasies and secrets. It's filled with dragons, shifters, vampires, ghosts, and many more jaw-dropping characters who keep me entertained on a daily basis. My love of paranormal and outrageous imagination have conspired together to bring me where I am today…sitting in front of my computer allowing them free rein. Writing is my passion, what I was born to do. I hope you will enjoy reading my stories as much as I love spinning them. I reside in Florida with my son and a guinea pig named Shadow. I adore French fries and my phone is permanently attached to my ear.
