Chapter Five

They fell asleep, exhausted from the night
before, a little bit of hangover and the worry that their sexy arrangement with
their friends may be over. Josh hated thinking that he hurt someone that was
becoming close to him but knew that if he and Ally wanted to, they could find a
new couple to hook up with. He was worried for Ally who didn’t want to lose her
old friend.

Ally didn’t expect Gabby to shut her out
after the previous night, but would understand if she did so to help James
forgive her.

Ally was awakened by the sound of her phone
going off and she hopped out of bed to find where she had left it. Josh was
still sleeping soundly, despite Ally’s rapid movement. She searched around the
room, trying to hear where the sound was coming from.

Realizing the sound was coming from
downstairs, she hurried down and found her phone on the coffee table. It was
Gabby calling her back. She picked it up just in time.

“Hey.” She said, greeting her friend. She
glanced at the clock and saw that it was 5:00pm. Maybe Gabby was calling her to
plan for the evening.

“Hey.” Gabby’s voice returned. The tone
indicated something was wrong and Ally knew it immediately.

Nearly half an hour later Ally went back up
the stairs to their bedroom where Josh was still asleep. She sat down on the
bed and put her hand on his back, stroking it gently. She patted him to wake
him up.

He lifted his head and blinked several
times, saying to her groggily, “Hey.”

When he saw the look on her face he propped
himself up and reached out to her.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” He asked, rubbing his
eyes a little.

She nodded and sighed heavily, “Josh
doesn’t want to see us again. He said things are too weird now and that he can’t
be a part of it anymore. I knew this was going to happen. I should have said no
to Gabby when she brought it up, but I was so excited to try something new…”

“I’m sorry, baby. It’s a delicate
situation, someone is bound to get hurt if they’re not ready for it.” He moved
closer to her and rubbed her arm, kissing her shoulder gently.

“I just didn’t want to lose Gabby, that’s
all. And everything was so easy with them. At least, it seemed like it was.”

“Why can’t you be friends with Gabby?” Josh
frowned.

“They’re not moving in together anymore, at
least not here. He’s thinking about moving again, and she’ll go with him if he
does.”

Josh hugged her and she squeezed him back.
She was upset about the situation, but she knew that feelings could get hurt
from the very beginning. She just didn’t think it would be James.

Ally sat up a little and took a deep breath.
She turned to him and smiled a little, letting him know she was ok.

After a minute she looked into his eyes and
her smile turned sly. She sat herself in his lap and kissed his cheek.

“Now we have to start from square one.” She
said and then lowering her voice a little continued, “New is always exciting.”

Chapter One

Gabby and Ally sat together in a coffee
shop, sipping and chatting idly. They hadn’t spoken in a couple days to try to
alleviate the tension between Gabby and James. Since the night that the girls
had decided to try each other’s lovers, their relationship had been marred.

“How are you guys?” Ally asked her, nervous
at what the answer might be.

Since discussing the situation with Josh,
she had started to feel guilty about causing a rift in James and Gabby’s
relationship. But one of them had been dishonest with what they intended to do
that night and Ally was starting to regret it. No one was supposed to get hurt,
it was just supposed to be a fun adventure.

Gabby looked into her coffee cup and
shrugged. She looked up at Ally and sighed heavily, groaning a little.

“I really thought that he would be Ok with
it,” she rolled her eyes, “but he said since he saw me with Josh, things just
aren’t the same. He hasn’t touched me since that night. I don’t know what’s
going to happen.”

She had tears in her eyes and Ally reached
out, putting her hand on her arm to comfort her.

After the last night they spent together
and seeing the expression on James’ face, she started to worry. She worried
that Josh might start to feel the same way. Knowing he didn’t want to talk
about it, she asked him the day following their foursome.

“How did you feel when you saw me with
James?” She had a habit of asking him questions, bluntly and without warning.

Josh was taken aback and took a long pause
before turning to answer her.

“I don’t want to talk about that, baby.”

She was a little hurt, and scared to pry.
She asked him meekly, “Why?”

“I just don’t. I’m not jealous, I’m not
upset. Really. So why do we need to discuss it?”

“Ok.” She backed off immediately, smiling
at him gently.

She wanted to mention that he had had no
issues talking about watching her be with Jenn or Gabby. It was a male ego
thing, she supposed.

Doesn’t that mean that he
is
jealous?
She thought to herself.

She decided it was better to leave well
enough alone. The arrangement had been working for them and it was better not
to question it. She found that letting things happen naturally always worked
out better.

As they sipped their coffee, in silence, a
tear streamed down Gabby’s face.

“I’m so sorry.” Ally said to Gabby, her
voice low.

Gabby smiled and blinked back her tears,
“It’s Ok. It’s my fault for pushing him. Honestly, it’s better that I found
that out now before we moved in together. It’s better this way.”

Ally patted her hand and drew it back to
pick up her cup, “So are you guys broken up then?” She tried to ask as
considerately as possible.

“No. I don’t know. We need to talk about it
but he’s been avoiding me.” She looked out the window and smiled to herself,
“Maybe it will work out.”

Josh was at their house, doing paperwork
for their business. He never minded doing it. He found the repetition relaxing
and the scratch of the pen on paper calming. He was still amazed that he and
Ally could work so well together. He knew it was because he took care of the
monotonous while she ran around the house impulsively.

They always had the same intentions, just
opposite approaches. This thing with James and Gabby was a perfect example. He
shook his head at his thoughts.

He recalled Ally asking him about how he
felt about her being with James. He wasn’t jealous, not of James. He knew that
it bothered James when Josh made Gabby scream but he couldn’t remedy that. He
definitely understood how he must feel.

If I’m lucky, I won’t see him again and
we can all move on from this fucking mess,
he
thought to himself, closing the folder in front of him.

Ally would be back from her visit with
Gabby and then they could pack. Josh’s cousin was getting married and they were
leaving the city for the weekend. They got a hotel room and he was looking
forward to having some time alone. They hadn’t had sex alone in three weeks,
before Ally rekindled her friendship with Gabby.

After James had gotten upset and Gabby was
taking time to try to comfort him, Ally and Josh had gone out by themselves.

They went out to a club and had a few
drinks. On the dance floor, Ally found a single girl and started to dance with
her. Josh watched from their table as Ally wound her hips around and grinded
against the girl. She responded happily, putting her hands on Ally’s waist and
moving with her.

Ally spun around and put her arms around
the girl. She wore a short white dress with thin straps and had raven black
hair. Ally whispered into the girl’s ear and she locked eyes with Josh as Ally
pointed out their table.

She looked Ally up and down, then squinted
through the dim light at Josh, turning her head back to Ally and smiling. Ally
brought her to the table and introduced her as, “Amy”.

They took her back to their house. Amy
nearly pounced on Ally as soon as they walked through the door and pulled her
over to the couch before they could take their shoes off. Ripping off Ally’s
dress, Amy glanced at Josh often, making sure that he was watching.

He could see the delighted surprise on
Ally’s face as Amy eagerly squatted down and started kissing Ally’s pussy
overtop of her panties. Ally closed her eyes and pushed herself into Amy. She
reached up and tore off her underwear.

Josh came up behind them and they both sat
down on the couch. They turned around and took turns, taking him on all fours.
They touched and kissed as they waited for him to thrust into them, watching
his slippery cock pull out of the other girl’s wet pussy and plunge into their
own.

She left just ten minutes after their romp
was finished, since the allure of the threesome was over. Ally had always
enjoyed the lingering sexual energy of having another couple stay over but was
glad that Amy left quickly. Their sex was incredible, but she missed Gabby.

As long as he made Ally quiver with an
orgasm, Josh didn’t care either way.

Chapter Two

Josh remained at the kitchen table, with
the closed folder in front of him. He wasn’t finished but didn’t think he could
concentrate anymore. He got up and took a beer from the fridge, sitting on the
couch to relax.

There was a knock at the door. Josh set his
beer on the coffee table and got up to answer it. He opened the door and saw
James standing on the porch.

Fuck
, he
thought, taking a deep breath before greeting him.

“James,” was all that he could manage
before a fist was swung at his jaw.

Josh stepped back just in time, stumbling
back a little as James’ momentum brought him forward.

“Jesus!” Josh cursed, “What the hell is the
matter with you?”

He braced himself for another strike but
James punched the door frame instead. There was a crack and Josh couldn’t tell
if it was the wood or his bone.

He turned away from Josh, going down the
couple of stairs and taking a few steps. He turned back, and walked back onto
the porch.

“Were you in on their little plot?” He
growled and gestured towards Josh, trying to find somewhere to direct his
anger.

“What are you talking about? I know that
night didn’t turn out the way you thought it would. I’m sorry, I didn’t know
you were Ok with it.” Josh tried to say the right thing to calm James down.

“I told Gabby I didn’t want to be a part of
it. Then it just happened.” He held his right hand in his left absent mindedly,
not focusing on the physical pain.

He sighed, his anger dissipating, “I’m
pissed at Gabby. I’m sorry I came here.” He turned to walk away, shaking his head.

“James,” he called out from the doorway,
still dazed from their altercation. This was the first time he had seen James
act so emotionally and he felt guilty to be a part of it.

“Gabby was being selfish. If what she wants
isn’t for you, maybe she isn’t for you either.” Josh had his hands up as he
spoke and dropped them as he finished, shrugging.

James sucked on his teeth and nodded,
staring off at the wood of the porch.

“Right.” He said.

He nodded at Josh and turned around,
walking to his car. As he pulled away, Josh shut the door and stood with a hand
on it for a minute. This was way too complicated for him. He would have to tell
Ally that another couple would be out of the question.

He was not going to deal with this again.

When Ally returned, she found Josh on the
couch with a beer in his hand and three empty ones on the coffee table. She
walked in and sat down beside him, leaning to kiss him on the cheek.

“How was your day?” She asked, frowning at
the beer bottles on the table in front of him.

He sighed heavily and turned to her slowly.
The look on his face was strange and Ally’s heart skipped a beat when his eyes
met hers.

“James stopped by. He was pretty upset.”
Josh took a swig of his beer.

“Oh my god,” She grimaced. “What did he
say?”

After he told her what happened she started
to apologize but he stopped her.

“Did you know that James had told Gabby he
didn’t want to be a part of that night?” His voice was firm and his face was
serious.

She didn’t see him like that often and when
she did, it was rarely directed at her. She started to get nervous that he
would get upset too.

“Baby, I didn’t know.” She put her hand on
his, squeezing it to reassure him, and herself. She started again, stumbling on
her words, “I… I thought she asked him. She told me it was fine.”

Josh sighed and brought her hand to his
lips, kissing it.

He smiled at her and said, “Ok.” Frowning,
he continued, “I can’t believe she would do that, Ally.”

“She didn’t realize it was such a big deal.
She’s only been with guys who are interested in threesome and that sort of
thing, she just assumed that he wanted it too.” She said, trying to defend her
friend.

Josh shook his head, scowling at her, “He
told her no. She was being selfish and hurtful. She didn’t care about what he
wanted.”

“You don’t know her like I do. She didn’t
mean to hurt him.” She threw her hands up emphatically.

He finished his beer and added the bottle
to his collection.

Ally rolled her eyes and sighed, “I think
they might get back together.”

Josh snorted and turned to her, “Sorry,
babe. I told him they weren’t a good match.”

Ally’s mouth gaped open and she stood up,
“She made a mistake. She deserves another chance!”

Josh shrugged, “It won’t work with them.
It’s better for them to end it now so they can find the right people.”

Ally pressed her lips together and went
upstairs to their bedroom. Josh rolled his eyes and leaned his head on the back
of the couch. He went to the fridge and got another beer. He looked at the
clock. It was 4:30 in the afternoon.

“Too fucking complicated.” He said to
himself.

He walked into the living room and put his
beer on the table. Sighing, he made his way to the stairs to go talk to his
wife.
