Her body went still as she stared at him.

“I want us to try again.” There was more he could have shared with her, but she appeared so stunned he kept it to himself. “However, just like before, this marriage can’t work without trust. No more running and hiding inside yourself.”

She licked her lips then swallowed. “You love me?”

“I’ve never stopped.” He lifted his hand and placed his palm against her cheek. “I just need you to trust me.”

“I can’t make you a promise that I may fail at.”

“Oh, I expect you to suck at it.” He smiled, softening the blow.

“What?” She leaned away from his touch causing his hand to fall to her shoulder.

“I’m just asking you to try. That’s it.” He rested his free hand on her knee.

“Okay.” Slowly, she inched her fingers towards his. “Will you stay with me tonight? I don’t want to be alone.”

“Even if I had to camp on your porch I wasn’t leaving you.” He moved to the couch and pulled her into his arms. It felt good, right, and perfect to hold her.

When her arms slipped around his waist and she tucked her face against neck, he stifled the groan of satisfaction.

They stayed in that position for long moments, serenaded by the ticking of her mantle clock.

“I’m going to take a shower. Then I want to sleep for long uninterrupted hours.”

“I’ll still be here when you wake up.”

“Thank you.” She pulled away then got to her feet.

While she was in the shower, he took the flowers he’d got her into the kitchen. Taking her glass with him and setting it in the sink. Under the sink, he located two vases. He filled them with water and took the roses out of the box and set them inside their perspective glasses.

“They look beautiful.” Fresh faced with her waves pulled back in a braid. She was dressed in a robe, he couldn’t tell what she was wearing beneath it, but he kept his mind from imagining her naked or in a sexy lingerie. What she needed tonight was comfort from him. “Where do you want to put them?”

“Leave the ones from Charmagne and Charles here. I’ll take the roses to put on my dresser.”

He liked the fact that she wanted his flower in such an intimate setting. “Are you ready for bed?”

She stifled a yawn. “Absolutely.”

Picking up the red roses, he followed her out of the kitchen.

A few minutes later, they were stretched across the top of her blanket covering her bed. He’d taken off his shoes and shirt, leaving on his undershirt and pants. Sonya settled in along his side using his chest as a pillow.

“Tell me about the Rainforest.” She mumbled.

He stroked her back and began. “The Daintree Rainforest is a beautiful tropical forest on the northeast coast of Queenland, Australia…”

By the time he got to the second line Sonya was snoring softly in his ear. He continued to talk as he enjoyed having her in his arms.

“Oh, Parker. Did you cook all of this?” Sonya stared down at the table full of food in her kitchen. While she’d been sleeping the wonderful smell had awaken her. She’d looked over and expected Parker to still be in bed beside her and had felt remised when she didn’t see him. At first she’d believed that he had snuck out at some point during the night, but subtle noises from down the hall let her know that she was not home alone. Last night had been emotional for her and drained she’d slept deep and hard.

She felt more refreshed. Anxious to see Parker, she’d tossed her robe aside and had pulled on a short housedress before brushing her teeth and washing her face. He had been a wonderful sight still in his white undershirt and jeans.

Boy, that man could wear a pair of jeans like no other. They cupped his thighs, backside and formed lovingly around more vital places. Heat raced into her face as she recalled just what was hidden in those jeans.

“Uh, no. Cooking isn’t my thing.” However, I preordered then ran out to your pancake house on the corner and grabbed it.

“Oh, I love that place. It is family owned and really good.”

After he placed a plate of bacon down on the table, he moved around it and kissed her on the corner of her mouth.

So close but not actually touching her lips, made her lips tingle and her mouth crave to taste him.

He pulled her seat out. “Good morning. If you’re ready to eat.”

Parker being a gentleman was nothing new. However, having him in her space and house was doing things to her. She’d missed him. She’d missed waking up to him over the years they had been apart. During the time they were apart she had attempted to fool herself and convince herself that it didn’t matter. That she was surviving perfectly without him...but that wasn’t the truth. She could admit that now.

After last night, she felt safe needing him. There were still a lot of things necessary for her to work out. Stuff inside her heart and mind she would have to come to grips with, but she was willing. He’d told her that was all he required of her right now, for her to be willing and he could be patient for the rest.

Getting out of her own head she began to load her plate with pancakes, bacon and fresh fruit before covering it heavily with warm maple syrup and butter.

After they blessed the food, he pointed at her drawn pancake. “I see you still have a sweet tooth.” He smiled, the sun brightening his features as they sat beside the bay window.

“Just a little.” She held up two of her fingers made a space between them about the size of an inch.

He held his arms up and his hand wide. “More like this little.”

She couldn’t deny his words so she just cut out a forkful and placed the first bite into her mouth. It was pure heaven. “Hmm. That’s good.”

The sound of Parker clearing his throat made her open her eyes. His heated gaze set her body ablaze across the table. He was staring so intent on her lips that she could swear she could feel a caress over her mouth.

Licking her lips to catch the syrup, she quickly picked up a napkin and wiped her mouth. “Sorry, I guess I’m acting like a piglet here.”

“I derive pleasure from seeing you enjoy things. Please, don’t let me stop you.”

“Well, it is hard to eat with someone staring at me.”

“Beauty attracts attention.” He lifted a piece of bacon to his mouth and sank his even white teeth through it.

Never had a man biting a piece of food been as erotic as it was now. She wanted to grab herself and give a good shake. Why she felt as horny as a lioness in heat, she wasn’t sure. Even though it had been years since she’d had sex until recently, she and Parker had messed up sheets at his house just three days ago. She shouldn’t be shocked from her response to him, it had been like this when they first got together. An insatiable heat, need and wildness. It amazed her that they had gotten any schoolwork down and still managed to graduate with honors.

Now, she probably had too much free time on her hands. Especially since her recital was complete. The school would take a month off through Christmas and the New Year so she wouldn’t even have that to keep her occupied. Tomorrow he would return to work and she’d been walking her house and trying to find something to do without losing her mind.

“What are your plans for the day?”

“Since it’s already after twelve, church is out. I want to buy my dad some shoes, but I’ll probably just do that tomorrow. That way I can go directly to the post office and mail them out.” She speared a cantaloupe chunk. “So, nothing.”

“If you’re not too tired, how about bowling. I’ll warn you that I’m not good at it at all.”

“I’d like that. No worries, I’m terrible. Gutter ball champion here.” She pointed a finger at herself.

“We’ll see about that.”

As they ate the discussion turned to other sports they were both horrible performing. When they were both full, she rose and took both their plates to the sink to clean them. Her house had a dishwasher, but she rarely generated enough dirty items to actually run it.

“I located the dishes, but I need a little help in containers to put the extra stuff away.” He stood and grabbed the plate of bacon and cinnamon rolls.

She ran warm water into one side of the sink after dropping dishwashing liquid into it. “In the pantry, on the third shelf you will find small storage bags for the rolls and foil to wrap up the bacon. The eggs you can put in a plastic bowl from the cabinet down the end.”

“I’m on it.”

They worked in harmony to get the kitchen straighten, teasing and flirting with each other. In all the years of absents, she’d forgot about their easy rhythm.

After the drainer was filled with platters and dishes they used, she reached into the cooled soapy water and pulled the plug. She turned around to get the towel of the island to dry her hand and slammed into Parker.

“Oof...sorr—”

His hands were on her hips, holding her body against his. The thin material of the dress was no match for the heat in his hands.

It seemed like winter sun shined a little brighter in the kitchen and birds began to sing to the beating of their hearts as they stood there. The warm, musk of his body tempted her, drew her closer to him. His fingers flexed on her sides and she could feel the pressure and indention of each of his fingers.

She felt possessed by his touch.

“I was trying to be good. Behave myself.”

“Who asked you too?” she whispered, feeling more than a little breathless and lost in a cloud of lust.

Unsure who moved first, she didn’t care. All she knew was that she was being consumed by the yearning between them. He tasted of a combination of bacon and cinnamon. She couldn’t get enough. She pressed into him and confirmed that his desire for her was just as rampant by the hardness of his shaft behind his jeans. Unable to resist, she ground her hips to his.

He groaned.

As he tongue swept into her mouth, his hands lowered to the hem of her dress. Her skin tingled as he caressed the sides of her thigh. Going further, he glided up her hips and around to her backside. His hands stopped.

For a moment she was the only one doing all the kissing.

His hands were squeezing her curves tight.

“The entire time we’ve been sitting here, you’ve been naked under this short little dress?”

Leaning into him, she eased the ache of her taut nipples. “Do you mind?” She batted her eyes and smiled, flirting with him.

“Hell, yes. If I’d known, I would’ve been inside you a long time ago. Breakfast makes a perfect dinner.” He lifted her, claiming her mouth again.

Her giggle was smothered by their kisses. She held onto his shoulders and wrapped her legs around his hips. Going out of her mind with longing, she rubbed herself along the thick bulge threatening to break his zipper.

“I need you…” She kissed his nose, chin, and then licked the side of his neck before sucking it into her mouth. Ravenous for Parker that’s what she was.

“You’re going to get me…Soni-love.” He was walking.

She didn’t care where. His touch was too distracting. Blunt, deft fingers slipped along the crease of her behind to play along her opening. She could feel the evidence of her desire in the wet glide of his hand.

“Ohhh, yes.” She wanted him to press inside of her, but he didn’t. He remained right at the rim of her sex, taunting her.

There was a cool, hard press along her back. In the back of her mind, she recognized the high gloss structure of her kitchen wall.

“I will buy you a new one.”

As she opened her eyes, she tried to comprehend his words. “A new—”

No need for her to wonder anymore as the front of her dress was ripped down the front by his hands. Her breasts hung bare now. He lifted her a little higher until her boobs were directly before his mouth. She dug her nails into his round, muscular shoulders. When he drew the first hard tip into his mouth, his fingers entered her at the same time causing her to go up in flames.

Tilting her head back, she palmed the back of his head to hold him against her. The dual handling were both satisfying and inciting at the same time. She had needed his mouth and hands on her body all morning, correction, all night. Even though she’d slept soundly in his arms, there wasn’t a part of her body that hadn’t craved him. Sleep had taken precedence then. Besides, Parker had been acting the perfect gentleman.

Not anymore. He’d become her prince of pleasure. She was more than happy with the personality shift.

As she pumped her hips, his fingers glided along her throbbing inner walls. He feasted on one breasts to the other, nipping and licking along the peaks and curves.

When he began to flick his tongue over one of her sensitive nipples she reached the top of ecstasy mountain. She bucked and squirmed traveling along the pathways of pleasure as she called out his name.

“I’m right here, love.” The light kisses he brushed against her chest and neck, should have been calming as he lowered her, but they were not, she needed him too much.

“It’s your turn now.” She reached between them and attacked the fastening of his jeans. Button undone, zipper down…she wasn’t satisfied until she had his hard, silken steel in her hand. “You feel so good.”
