Ausar
shouted something she was too dazed to understand. His cock seemed to get even
bigger, if that was possible. He shuddered, his teeth sinking into the back of
her neck.

The
world lurched like a broken elevator and Elise found herself lying face-down on
the workroom table, fully dressed, panting heavily. She felt feverish,
raw-skinned, and muscle-sore. She checked her watch—nearly eleven at
night.

It
was a dream, she told herself. But she didn't believe it.

The
shipping manifest still lay on the table, albeit a bit crumpled thanks to her
rolling around on it. Elise counted the crates. Twelve. She counted the number
of crates listed on the manifest. Twelve. No extra crate, no mysterious giant
gold penis.
It was a dream.

Her
shoulder ached more than the rest of her. When had she hurt it? She unbuttoned
her shirt and pulled the collar down. There on her upper arm was a tattoo in
vivid blues and greens, an elaborate djed pillar.
The symbol of Osiris.
She brushed her fingertips over the intricate design. Pain flared everywhere
she touched.
It's real.

"Nice
tatt."

Even
without looking at the newcomer's face, she recognized his voice.
Mark.
What was he doing here so late? "Uh, thanks."

Mark's
gaze lingered on the tattoo—or was he staring at her breasts?
Oh God.
I'm flashing my boss.
Her nipples were still hard, visible through the
silky fabric of her bra. She yanked her shirt back on, fumbled with the
buttons. "Did you need something?"

"Ah…I
came back because I forgot something…and I saw the door open…and I don't want
you to think…" Whatever it was he didn't want her to think, he also didn't
want to say out loud.

She
peeked up at him. He was blushing as hard as she was. Could it be that quiet,
gorgeous Mark was shy too?

Ausar's
voice echoed in her head.
Even in your dreams, you're afraid to ask for what
you want?

Not
anymore.
Elise took a deep breath and smiled. "I'm glad you're here.
Want to get a drink with me?"

Mark
grinned and offered her his arm. "I thought you'd never ask."
