Facing Me (17 page)

I grab the phone
from his hand, and burst into laughter, “So, according to this urban dictionary
of his;
pegging
is when the chick rams a strap on up the guy’s ass.” I
read aloud, then burst into giggles. “Is your
ass
familiar?  Oh my
god!” I heave, clutching my arms against my stomach as I double over
laughing.  Everyone joins in, except Hunter, who looks like he has sucked
on something sour.
Which, who knows, maybe he did.

“Am I missing
something?” Mack asks curiously, looking at everyone who joins me in my
laughing fit.

“Hell yeah you
are.” Henry shouts. “Dumbass over here got a dildo to the ass unexpectedly at a
truck stop a while back.” Henry laughs, “Funniest shit I’ve ever seen was when
he ran out of that place like a man running from the hounds of hell.”

“That bitch was
a hound from hell.” Hunter says sulking down in the seat. “I get my ass
violated and you bastards think this shit is funny?” He pouts.

“Here Daisy,”
Aiden says, handing her a red dry erase marker. “You had better make that blank
tile a ‘g’ so there’s no confusion later.  I’ll add up the score real
quick.” He says, scribbling on the pad. “Damn, fourteen points, so that makes
the score twenty-two to twelve.  Ladies have the lead, guys you’re up.”
Aiden adds, earning him both middle fingers from Gray.

Hunter fumbles
with the marker on the table, drawing on the outside of his hand around his
thumb. “Oh baby.” He chuckles, tossing the marker to the table.  Flipping
his hand around, he shows us the most ridiculous face.  He has drawn eyes
and big lips around his thumb and index finger. “Wanna give her a kiss y’all?”
He teases, making kissy faces at his hand. “Later, she’ll wrap those red lips
around my dick; she’s a
handy
woman to have on tour.”

“You’re warped
in a special kind of way, aren’t you Hunter?” I ask with a laugh once he starts
thumbing through his tiles.

He winks at me,
but shadows cloud his eyes letting me know that he is putting on a show.
Hunter hides his shit behind jokes and crazy sexual exploits. “You know it.” He
replies, with a smile that looks almost forced.  No one else seems notice
the sadness that lingers in his eyes, but I see it.  Whatever happened
with Chase wasn’t what he wanted any more than she did, and I’m determined to
get to the bottom of it.

My phone
vibrates in my pocket, making me jump. Aiden’s eyes immediately go to me in
concern.  Yanking it from my pocket, I stand up. “I’ll be back, this could
be important.” I blurt, shoving down the aisle to Gray and Daisy’s room for
privacy. “Hello, this is Camaron Allen.” I answer, trying to sound professional
just in case it’s someone for the guys.

“Don’t you sound
like the professional groupie pussy?” The eerie voice bites out, crossly. “I
find it funny the guys were so desperate for representation after we parted
ways that they had to throw you a bone, Camaron.” His tongue curls around my
name making my stomach turn.

“What do you
want Tad,” I ask, knowing he is really just calling to mess with my head. “I’m
sure bail jumping and being a fugitive from the law has you very busy; I don’t
want to keep you.”

He laughs into
the phone. “So, you haven’t forgotten me?  That’s good, because I haven’t
forgotten any of you.” He snarls. “All of you will get yours for what you’ve
done to me.  It’s just a matter of time.”

The tone in his
voice pisses me off to no end; I grip the phone tightly with my fingers, rage
boiling in my veins.  I can barely hear his voice over the roaring of
angry blood thumbing in my temples.  This piece of shit thinks that he was
wronged?  After everything he did to Daisy, and the money he stole from
the guys; but we wronged him? “You’re a crazy, sick piece of work, Tad.  I
hope they catch your ass and get you the help you deserve.” I say turning to
meet Aiden in the door way, my eyes go wide knowing he has heard everything.
“Just know this, if you come after us there’s plenty of security to handle you;
but I’d rather do it myself.  You know I’m capable of that.”

“I haven’t
forgotten that you broke my nose, bitch.  Trust me; you’ll pay for that
all in good time.” I hear him shuffling papers through the phone before blowing
out a breath. “Oh and Cam, if you think that adding one little security guard
is going to do anything to protect any of you, think again.  You’ll never
see me coming, I’m already there waiting to strike.  Be sure to tell Daisy
hello for me and have a great show in Macon.” He adds arrogantly, before the
line goes dead.

It takes
everything in me not to throw my phone against the wall just to watch it
shatter.  I’m so angry that my eyes blur, tunneling my vision so that all
I can see is Aiden’s heated expression. “What did he want?” He asks quietly,
clenching his fists at his sides tightly.  I can see the rage coming off
him in waves, clearly hanging onto his control by a thread.

“To tell me that
he holds the cards. Aiden, he thinks he has the ability to get to us all.” I
explain, calmly, knowing that if I lose my cool he will too.  That will
only upset everyone and right now we don’t need that. “I won’t keep anything
from you Aiden; but I think that for the sake of everyone else, we need to keep
this to just us and Henry.  I want him to be able to keep Mack updated to
any changes.” I manage to get out before my voice cracks. “He’s crazy Aiden.”

Aiden walks
over, enveloping my now trembling body in his strong arms. “It’s alright baby,”
He soothes, “Tad isn’t getting anywhere near anyone.  When we stop to eat,
I’ll get Henry by himself and he can call the police to let them know where Tad
is.  Honestly, we should have done that already.”

“No, I know that.
Everything is going to be fine.” I reply, looking up at him. The problem is
that Daisy was right.  Tad is watching and closely too.  Tad already
knows about Mack and where we are headed.  How long will it be before he
tries something?  The thoughts whirl in my head, but I can’t bring myself
to say the words out loud.

“Come on, baby.”
Pressing his lips against my forehead sweetly, he murmurs against my skin.
“You’ve gotta get back in there and help Daisy finish knocking Cunter down a
peg or two.” Aiden chuckles, softly. “If anyone needs it, it’s him.” Taking his
hand, I walk back up the aisle with him to finish the game.  If only
everything was as easy as Aiden calming my nerves; but sadly, I have a feeling
that things are going to get much worse before they ever get better.

*Aiden*

The minute I
heard who Cam was talking to, I wanted to yank the phone away and deal with Tad
myself.  What does that sick fucker think he is doing?  Luckily, I
was able to email some info to a few police stations and the bail bonds places
in the area he was living in with Landon.  Hopefully, it will speed things
along.  The sooner he gets picked up, the better.  There is too much
riding on this tour and the festival next week to have all this added to
it.  I want nothing more than to have stayed in my hotel room with her for
days; nothing and no one to disturb us.  Instead, here I am silently
worrying that that asshole may try something on someone I care about.

“Aiden, somebody
better tell this big ass that just because he’s new doesn’t mean I won’t thump
his fuckin’ melon for being partial to the girls.” Hunter snarls, once Cam and
I reach the table. “Seriously, he can’t pull this shit.  I’m not letting
this word go, it counts.”

I stare down at
the game board; Hunter taps his fingers along the word
apex
.  I
can’t help but laugh at him, “Jeez man, what the hell?  I seriously want
to know where you got that shit from.” Shaking my head, I groan knowing that he
is going to be pissed. “You can’t use that.  It means the highest point or
tip of something, sure, but I don’t think it is ‘
Shaft Dirty Scrabble’
standards.  Sorry bro,” I shrug apologetically.

Slamming his
hand down on the table, he glares at the girls as Cam sits back beside Daisy.
“This is bull shit!  I read that damn book Daisy had in the
bathroom.  It said apex instead of pussy a hundred times, damn it!”

“You read that?”
Daisy asks with a giggle. “Wow, Hunter, I’m surprised.”

“I had to pass
the time somehow.” He shrugs a shoulder. “It would’ve been perfect if it could
have been three hundred pages of fucking in every way possible but can’t win them
all.  Story lines, emotions and shit.” He scrunches up his nose. “If you
read that stuff to get off, how do you rub one out if they cry and bitch more
than they get busy?”

“Alright, we’re
here and I got shit to do.” Henry shouts, as the bus comes to a stop. “Add up
those totals, I am dying to see who wins this time.”

“Alright,” Mack
says chewing on the end of a pencil. “Well, according to the paper; it’s the
ladies by thirteen points.” Looking up, Mack grins, scratching his nose at my
brother with his middle finger. “Sorry Hunter.”

“I’ll bet you
are, asshole.” Hunter says, but grins with amusement at Daisy. “Okay, baby
momma.” He says, tossing up his hands in defeat. “I’m at your mercy once
again.  Be gentle with me, I bruise easily.” He teases with a wink.

I look to Daisy,
who has the biggest shit eating grin on her face.  The wheels working
overtime in her head while she thinks up just the right punishment.
Then I nearly laugh when she just nods. “Cunter, you like to objectify women.
It’s time for you to be on display again.  This time I’ll really give them
something to stare at in the diner.” She says, arrogantly.  Daisy is the
only woman who has ever tossed it out at Hunter just as she sees it.  Poor
son of a bitch has never recovered.  It’s broken down walls I never
thought would even crack.  Hunter was completely against a chick on the
bus, but now none of us could ever see us on the Big Bitch without Daisy here,
tormenting Hunter.  Plus, Hunter really needs no excuse to flaunt himself;
the damn attention whore inside him craves it.

“I take it I’m
along for the ride on this too?” Gray groans, scrubbing a hand over his face.

“I know you’re
man enough to handle it baby.” She winks. “Come on, Cam, I’ll need your help
for this too.” Daisy adds, before looking to Henry who has come around the
driver seat thumbing away on his phone. “Give us fifteen minutes Big Man, then
we’ll be ready to go eat.”

The girls shove
Grayson and Hunter down the aisle leaving Henry, Mack and me waiting. “Well,
Mack, you clean that shit up, we should be leaving soon enough.” Henry says,
flopping his big ass in Hunter’s chair.  Pulling out his phone, he starts
thumbing away with a huge grin.  I’m instantly curious, Henry never texts
or screws with his damn phone.  Something is up.

“What the hell
are you up to, Big Man?” I chuckle, sitting on the couch.

“Nothin’ man,
just textin’ a friend.” He replies without meeting my eyes.  Henry shoots
straight, never lying or keeping stuff from us, until now.  I can almost
smell the stench of his bullshit filling the bus.

“Big Man,” I
huff out a laugh, “You’re full of shit and we both know it.” Henry looks up at
me, a blush spreading across his face.  He may not be ready to admit it,
but since he took us in; he has given up a lot.  He’s never had a
relationship with a woman beyond a few nights worth of sex and sold his shit to
be on tour with us full time.  Henry doesn’t let himself have too much
because he has to be on point with Hunter.  My brother is the definition
of reckless and when he screws up, it’s Henry to the rescue.  “Secret is
safe with me man,” I add with a grin.

Before he can
say anything else, I hear the door open to the bedroom. “You’re such bitches.”
Hunter mumbles, coming up the aisle.  His words are nothing to prepare me
for the sight that comes into view.  Hunter is in a one of Daisy bikini
tops, stuffed full with socks.  They’ve made him up with more makeup than
I’ve ever seen in my life
My
mouth drops,
my jaw nearly hitting my lap.  Hunter cups his new enhancements, squeezing
them hard. “I don’t know though, if I really had tits like this, I’d never get
anything done.  My hands would be on them all day long.” He admits,
smacking his fire engine red lips together.

“You’re an idiot
Cunter.” Gray mumbles, walking around him in a little bikini top, minus the
makeup and socks. “Can we just get this over with?”

Pushing to my
feet, I walk over and tweak Gray’s nipple through the fabric. “You don’t fill
your top out as well as Hunter does honey.  There’s no reason to go easy on
you just because you’re married to Daisy.” I tease.

“Don’t go
gropin’ me pube-muncher,” Gray growls, covering his chest with his arms.

“Oh no, Aiden,
we didn’t make him; Hunter asked for enhancements
and
makeup.” Cam
blurts, walking over, she kisses my cheek. “Let’s go you sexy bitches.
It’s time to work that diner.” She says, flinging the door open to the bus and
walking through the parking lot like she owns it.

“I was right
about her; your pussy does have claws little brother.” Hunter says, nudging me
with his elbow. “It’s hot as hell.” He groans but my eyes are fixed on Camaron
and her ass sashaying to the door with Daisy.  Yep, she has claws that she
dug into my ass from day one and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

***

Hurrying into
the diner, I sit beside Cam and Daisy just in time to watch the show.  A
group of women at the far end of the room look up at us, rolling their eyes in
disgust as we sit.  Instantly, I wonder what crawled up their asses.
They make snide comments as Henry and Mack walk in, followed by Gray hanging
his head in embarrassment.  Hunter, on the other hand, walks in like he’s
at the Academy Awards.  He struts across the room, running his hands along
his mostly bare top half; only stopping to squeeze his enhanced chest. “That’s
right bitches,” He purrs. “Wanna grope my jugs, come get some.” He offers,
shaking his chest at the table of older women.

One lady just
shakes her head, “The youth of this generation is sickening.  They have no
shame, no pride in themselves.  Cross dressing, groping each other in
public, flaunting vulgar tattoos and piercing their bodies like shish kabobs”
She condemns harshly, scrunching her nose in disgust. “It’s repulsive and
offensive if you ask me.”

Hunter’s eyes go
wide, while she explains to the other women at the table how shameful Hunter is
to the rest of humanity.  He bites his lip to stop from laughing.
Walking closer, he yanks a sock out throwing it onto the table making them all
gasp. “Listen, I have plenty of pride in myself. The only people who should be
ashamed are judgmental bitches like you.”

“Well, I’ve
never been so insulted in my life,” she shrieks.  Grabbing her things up
in a hurry, she avoids the eyes of everyone at our table which pisses me off
even more.  Balling my hands into fists, I start to get up and say
something as well.  It doesn’t matter what we look like or how we conduct
our lives, these women don’t know anything about us.  Yet, they feel they
can pass their brutal judgment on us.  Sadly, I think some people are so
self-righteous that they seem to forget who the real judge is.

“I doubt that,
they just don’t say it to your face.” He says bluntly, winks, then walks over
to the table plopping down in the seat next to Grayson. “Honey, don’t you mind
her.  I’ll slip you tongue later.” He promises Gray, smiling
wickedly.  The women all jump from the table, shoving toward the door
while Hunter just waves at them. “Bye ladies, it was lovely chatting with you.”

Everyone looks
to Cam, expecting her to go into manager mode and do some damage control.
She doesn’t though; Cam’s face is stone and unwavering, then she cracks
bursting into laughter. “Hunter, even though we all signed a clause about
avoiding bad publicity; right now I could kiss you.”

“What the hell?”
I shout in confusion.

“She deserved
it. If Hunter hadn’t said something, anyone of us would have.  Those
uptight broads were giving all of us dirty looks the moment we walked in
here.  I mean, this is a free country.  Opinions are like assholes,
everybody has one and some of them just fucking stink.” Cam shrugs, then looks
to the waitress I didn’t see approach and proceeds to order pancakes at dinner
time.  I wrap my arm around her and smile.

“Well,” Hunter
grins after the waitress leaves. “I would, but I’d never be able to sleep at
night if you got a taste of all of this.” He gestures down his body,
arrogantly. “Then my brother could never measure up.”

“Suck my dick.”
I deadpan.

“I’m sorry
Cunter, but no other man’s kisses have ever measured up to Aiden’s.” She quips grinning
at me. “Even when I assumed it was over between us, his kisses lingered on my
lips.”

My eyes snap to
hers, the hidden possibilities in her words slam into my chest, ripping apart
my heart.
Did she date while we were apart?  Did another man have
his hands and mouth on what belongs to me?
  The images in my head
won’t stop.  I can see men kissing her, touching her.  My stomach
churns, pain flooding my heart.  The conversations go on around me;
everything just fades into the background.  I can’t even begin to process
how I feel about all this.

“Aiden, are you
okay?” Cam asks, but I can barely focus on her.  Black is clouding my
vision, darkness and loss choking my heart like a damn vise.
No, I’m
not okay.

It feels like I am dying.

Cam says something
to everyone, then, before I know it, I am hauled to my feet, and we are
walking.  Camaron leads me into a family bathroom, locking the door behind
us.  Her blue gaze burning into mine, making me feel inferior.
What
the hell is going on with me? I never feel inferior; Aiden Chesterfield is
always in control.  I have all the power here.
I drop my
gaze to her feet, unable to meet her eyes any longer “Aiden, what’s going on
with you?  Everything was fine and then, bam, you’re just not there.” She
asks reaching out to touch my cheek.  I flinch, pulling out of her reach;
her face instantly hardening. “Oh, so it’s something that I’ve done is
it?  Is this your way of
punishing
me, Aiden?” She snaps, throwing
her hands up in the air. “Fine, you know what?” She shouts pacing the small
room when I don’t answer. “If you have a problem with me or anyone else out
there, for that matter, either you can swallow that shit and move on or go back
to the damn bus and kiss my ass.  I’m tired of takin’ one step forward and
two steps back with you.”

“Kiss your ass,
huh?” I mumble, hanging onto my patience by a thread.  Does she even know
how much it hurts to know that she kissed someone else?
Of course she
does you idiot!  You fucked another woman and then told her about while
trying to do the same to her.
Stopping right in front of me, Camaron
slaps me hard across the face, making my teeth rattle as if she can read my
thoughts.  Before she can do it again, I grab her wrists yanking her flush
against me.  Our chests heaving against each other, the air in the room
crackling and sparking with tension and need, mine just as much as hers.
Her scent invades my senses, driving me insane with desperation to claim her
here, now.

“Yeah, you can
kiss my,” Is all she gets out before I push her against the wall, slamming my
mouth to hers.  My tongue dives into her mouth, every swipe claiming
ownership.  My fingers clamp tightly around her hip so that I can push my
aching cock against her.  My other hand slides up into Cam’s blonde hair,
holding her to me.  I bite at her bottom lip, making her moan loudly into
my mouth before I finally break the kiss.
