False Illusions (False #1) (6 page)

Checking my phone for the tenth time I’m disappointed that she still hasn’t texted back.

“Hey El, can I get a pic with you and Marcus?” I look up, sliding my phone back in my pocket. The photographer gives me a nervous grin.

I nod and Marcus appears at my side with a couple of groupies.  One of the girls clings to my side.

“Hi, El,” she purrs.

I just smile and look toward the camera, as soon as the flash goes off I push her off me. She frowns but returns to her friend.

“You can have her.” Marcus laughs.

I take a sip of my water. “I’m good. I have what I need.”

“I didn’t know you had a girl” He smirks.

“Yeah I couldn’t tell you had one either.” I counter back. “Speaking of her, where is she?” I ask causally.

Marcus shrugs. “Beats me. Anyway, don’t train too hard, I’m going to beat your ass anyway.”

I shrug in return. “I’m not worried.”

He laughs and turns back to the girls. It pisses me off that he does even know where she is.

It’s almost two in the morning when I walk in my suite. After spending the last two hours answering questions and talking shit to Marcus who started in on me, I was tired as hell. I still haven’t heard from Madison and I was over it.

Walking into the bedroom I stop in my tracks. Madison is asleep under the covers. Her pale blonde hair fanned around her making her look like an angel.

Shedding my clothes to my briefs I gently climb in the bed behind her, trying not to wake her. All I want to do is wake her demanding to know why I haven’t heard from her and then fuck her senseless.

Instead I pull her close and breathe in her scent. Lines are blurring between what I should do and what I need to do. I’m so fucked, I should be keeping her away, not bringing her close. I tell myself again that I need to stop this.

Just one more night.

I Knew You Were Trouble- Taylor Swift

I’m warm, too warm. I open my eyes and blink a couple of time. I was in Yoel’s bed.  I must have fallen asleep. Grabbing my phone I check the time. Damn, it’s seven a.m. I knew Marcus wasn’t coming home last night, he rarely does when he does appearances at clubs.

Slowly I slip out of bed making sure I don’t wake Yoel who’s sleeping soundly. He must have gotten in late.

In the kitchenette I make coffee and settle on the bar stool with my Kindle. I need a break from reality. Explaining to my parents why Marcus couldn’t make it to dinner last night didn’t go well.

“Why isn’t Marcus here?” Dad asks gruffly as he reads the menu.

I called Marcus who basically rushed me off the phone with a ‘don’t stay up late’.

“He’s training dad.” I sip my wine.

My mom smiles.”Good, he has that fight coming up.”

Dad shakes his head. He knows the truth, yet he continues to back this engagement. My family owns an agency that backs Marcus’s career, so basically he wins fights for my dad. I think, I’m not really sure how that works, but I know it’s a big deal.

The rest of the meal is basically mom making sure I’m playing my role as the dutiful fiancé. All I could think about is the tall, dark and tattooed hottie that calls me baby doll.

Which led me to his bed last night.  I was bummed to find him gone, but I snuggled up under the covers breathing in his sent.

I’m sipping my third cup of coffee when Yoel strolls out of the room in just his briefs. I will never get use to the sight of him.

“Morning, baby doll.” He kisses my forehead.

“Morning.” I watch him make a cup of coffee. “I tried waiting up for you.”

He doesn’t look up at me. “Yeah? Sorry, I was at the office late.”

I nod even though he can’t see me. “Oh, okay. New account?”

That’s what he did right? Marketing accounts?

“Uh, yeah. New account.” He still doesn’t look at me.
Okay.

“For who?” I ask.

Finally his brown eyes flash to mine. “Kind of personal, don’t you think?”

I blink jerking my head back a little. “Oh, I’m sorry.”

He shrugs sipping his coffee.

“Are you mad or something?” I bite my lip.

Yoel shakes his head with a small laugh. “I don’t hear from you for three days and you just show up.”

I draw my eyebrows confused. “I thought that’s how this was working, we have sex-“

“We fuck, Madison. But then you go and start asking me to hold you, asking about my day. My job.” He cuts me off. “You can’t make the rules and then not follow them, but go missing for days.” He pauses taking a breath. “You can show up whenever you want to get fucked and I’m supposed be here waiting? But yet when I call you I get no reply.”

Okay, he was definitely upset. We sit in silence for what feel like forever. I don’t know what to say because, let’s face it, he’s right.

“I’m sorry,” I manage to say.

He doesn’t reply right away, instead he stands up and grabs my chin between his fingers.

“I want you naked. Now.” His tone is hard.

Standing up I slip off my shorts and thin tank top. My long hair falling down my back. I wasn’t wearing panties in hopes he would have touched me last night.

His eyes travel down my body. “I’m very upset with you, baby doll.”

I stare at the floor and nod in understanding. Next thing I know he lifts me up and sets my on the edge of the dining table, legs wide with his erection straining his briefs.

“We’re just fucking, right, baby doll. You come to me to be fucked?” His breath warms my ear as he kisses down my neck.

I moan.

“Answer me.”

“Yes.” I close my eyes as his mouth takes in my hard nipple.

I hear his briefs hit the floor and his mouth pulls away. Hooking his arms under my knees he pulls me forward, my back falls against the cold table as he slams into me.

“Always so fucking wet, baby doll.”

Yoel fucks me without mercy, he fucks me with a madness. The more I scream and moan the harder he pounds into me, the deeper he digs.

“Don’t. Ever. Ignore. Me. Again,” he says with every thrust. “This is my pussy, don’t forget it.”

I moan as I feel him fill me up with his release. Holy shit.

He pulls out of my swollen pussy and pulls up his briefs.

“You have plans today?” he asks casually as if he hadn’t just fucked the shit out of me.

I shake my head getting off the table and on my feet.

“Good, I want you here today.” He smiles wickedly.

That smile tells me I’m in trouble, and I can’t wait.

The rest of the day is spent in bed and my body is feeling all the rounds we went this morning. I can’t remember the last time I spent all day in bed naked getting sexed.

Yoel is out in the main room ordering room service when his phone vibrates next to me for the fourth time in the last five minutes. I’m usually not a nosey person and I shouldn’t care, but I find myself with his iPhone in my hand, my thumb hovering over the Instagram notification.

My eyes flick to the closed door and back to the screen.

What the hell are you doing? Don’t go through his stuff!

I roll my eyes and I’m about to put his phone back when it vibrates and a picture pops up on the screen. My heart stops.

My eyes can’t leave the picture.
What the fuck.

The message is from someone named Javi.

Yo bro! Saw this is on the gram! Are you ready to win that belt?

Ready to win the belt?

I blink hoping I’m seeing things because Yoel is in advertising, but when I open my eyes the picture is still staring at me in the face.

Yoel is standing next to Marcus, two girls flanking them. I quickly read the caption.

Marcus ‘The Mark’ Wellington and Yoel ‘El’ Gonzalez make promo appearance at Tao last night for upcoming fight…

I throw his phone on the nightstand and shakily get off the bed. Grabbing my clothes as quickly as possible, I had to get out of here.

He lied to me.

The bedroom door swings open. “Hey babe, I ordered you that pasta…” He stops when he sees me struggle to lace my sneakers.

“You’re leaving?” Confusion laces his voice.

I don’t look at him or reply. I can’t be here. How could I have been so stupid and not see the signs. He doesn’t even look like a corporate career kind of guy.

No, he looks like a liar.

I rush past him, grabbing my bag on the way to the elevator.

“So you’re just going to walk past me?” He grabs my arm.

Tears are already threatening to fall. I feel so stupid. I’m so pissed. Shit, I was actually falling for him.

His brown eyes soften. “What’s wrong, baby doll?”

Snatching my arm back I narrow my eyes. “I don’t know,
El
, why don’t you tell me?”

Shock hits his face and he takes a step back.

“Advertising. You said you worked in fucking advertising.”  Now the tears came, burning my cheeks.

Yoel tries to step forward to hold me but my hands slam on chest and I push him away. “No, don’t touch me!”

I turn and hit the call button for the elevator.

“Baby doll, I can explain.” I feel him behind me, his voice soft.

Shaking my head I get in the elevator, I can’t look at him.

“Madison,” it’s barely a whisper as the doors close, leaving the weeks of happiness and pleasure on the other side.

And a part of your heart

Don’t forget that part.

The day she walked out plays over and over in my mind. It’s been a week since Madison found out about my career thanks to my cousin. I couldn’t blame Javi. Madison shouldn’t have had my phone to begin with, but then again that’s what happens when you get comfortable with someone, you leave your shit around without a second thought.
