“Right on with that,” Sherwood replied.

“In a hundred percent agreement,” Murdock
said.

Seals nodded. “And I told Sherwood that I
believe Felicity was the type that thought she could cause all of
this fuckery to people and they would be mad about it just
temporarily and then forget about it and her. But it looks like
there was someone or some people who wanted to put a permanent end
to her fuckery.”

“Well said, Seals,” Sherwood said with a
smile.

“Exactly, Seals. And if she doesn’t make it
then they’ll get their wish. I hope she survives, of course, but
they’re still saying that it’s not likely. So Carson wasn’t any
help?” Murdock asked.

Sherwood and Seals looked at each other.

“Oh, he was a
big
help! We found out
that he had something going on with her for at least a year outside
of the club and yes, she was with Sloan the whole time. And he got
really emotional about how he felt used by her for all of the free
stuff he was giving her and how she wouldn’t pay it back to him
when he asked her to because he wasn’t supposed to be giving her
all of that free stuff to begin with. And she also promised him
that they would be together once her and Sloan broke up, but when
Sloan did break up with her, she didn’t keep her promise to him,
instead, when Sloan was at the club last Friday night, she only
danced with Carson in an obvious attempt to make Sloan jealous, and
that was the first time they’d ever danced with each other. I feel
like out of everyone that we talked to, he got fucked over by her
the most,” Seals said.

“I agree,” Sherwood said.

“And why is that?’ Murdock asked.

“Because the girls that she caused fuckery
to, Jackie and Willow, who happen to be friends, didn’t lose their
boyfriends over Felicity’s fuckery, well, at least Jackie didn’t
because she’s still with Allen, and Willow had been broken up with
Sloan since sophomore year, but I have to admit, Felicity’s fuckery
did cause Sloan to leave Willow for her, but that was years ago.
We’ve confirmed that with Erin, Felicity’s best friend, and Willow
herself. Maybe Willow never did get over it and finally wanted
revenge for it, I don’t know — just thinking out loud,” Sherwood
said.

“Could be true about
Willow,” Murdock said. “But you said when you interviewed Willow
separate from Jackie and the other two girls, that she
didn’t
say that they were
all at a makeup party last Saturday night, right?”

“Right,” Seals replied. “She didn’t even
mention it. And I did check to see if there were any makeup parties
being thrown in this city last Saturday night, and there was one.
But Jackie, Cherie, and Trina all said that they were at Willow’s
last Saturday, and Willow told us that they were all at
Jackie’s.”

Murdock sighed. “Well, it’s obvious that
someone is lying; maybe both of them. I know y’all find out.”

“Of course we will,” Sherwood pledged.

“And what about Taylor Richards, Felicity’s
neighbor from across the street? Have you done a follow-up
interview with him?” Murdock asked them.

“Not yet. I haven’t really seen Taylor
posting anything on social media lately since we talked to him at
school this week. It’s clear that he’s been staying off of there
ever since talking to us. I don’t know what it is, but I don’t
think he’s telling us the whole story about him and Felicity’s true
relationship,” Seals said.

“Well, if you think he’s hiding something
then you know you need to do your best to try and get it out of
him. I’m sure he hasn’t told y’all everything, considering the fact
that he lives across the street from her and his bedroom window is
parallel to hers,” Murdock said.

“Exactly,” Sherwood said. “But right now,
we’re putting him in the middle of the list of suspects. We don’t
consider him a really high one.”

“He may not be, but still do a follow-up
interview with him soon,” Murdock said.

“We will,” Seals promised.

“And who else? That rich girl, Stacia. I
know you both interviewed her up at her boarding school and I would
like to thank the two of you again for traveling that far to go up
there and talk to her. How would you rank her on the suspects
list?” Murdock asked.

“In the middle to high,” Seals replied.

“Explain,” Murdock said.

“Because of what she did to her expensive
purse and stealing from her. But I think most of all because of her
fucking with her rep of being a girl. When someone starts fuckery
like that, it labels a person and it’s hard to get rid of a label
like that. I’ve seen some nasty shit written about Stacia on social
media about being a tranny, and people making stupid memes about
her and everything. I don’t believe there was any of that stuff
about her before Felicity claimed that she was a guy. And we were
waiting for Stacia to bring up the fact that Felicity put it all
over social media that she was really a guy, but she didn’t. We
don’t know if she was blocking it or just forgot about it,” Seals
said.

“Yeah, that can fuck someone up for real.
So, yeah, I’ll keep her near the top of the list of suspects, and
definitely bring that up to her if she fails to bring it up the
second time that you talk to her, since she didn’t bring it up the
first time,” Murdock said. “And you told me over the phone how it
went with Jay Stringer a few hours ago, so I’m updated about him.
But I haven’t heard about that other boy, Reamer Miller.”

“Oh, we think he may be a little crazy,”
Sherwood said.

“Ronald!” Seals said, with a slight
laugh.

Murdock grinned. “And why is that,
Sherwood?”

“He was telling us that he was seeing
Felicity and that she told him to quit his girlfriend Audrey for
him,” Sherwood replied.

“Hmm. So you think he took it upon himself
to quit Audrey thinking that he was gonna be with Felicity, huh?”
Murdock asked.

“Exactly,” Sherwood said.

“It’s possible, but always keep the other
reason open as well because it could be true, but if he seems a
little off, then the latter may be true,” Murdock said.

“He’s really been trashed all over social
media with people talking about how much he was played by a fuck
girl. I just don’t think that Felicity told him to quit Audrey for
her, and he’s just too ashamed to admit that he’s the one who took
the initiative to do it, and when it didn’t work out the way he
thought that it was going to with her, he had to lie to everyone,”
Seals said. “It’s obvious that the kiss Felicity gave him that
night really messed up his mind!”

“To say the least!” Sherwood replied, as he
shook his head.

“Sounds like it,” Murdock said. “So with
knowing all of this, where do you put him on the list of
suspects?”

“High,” Sherwood replied.

“Very
high,” Seals replied.

“Sounds good,” Murdock said. “And what about
Audrey? Have you talked to her yet?”

“No, we haven’t but we will,” Sherwood
replied.

“And just knowing what you know about her,
where would you put her on the list of suspects?” Murdock
asked.

“Right now, medium to low. She may have
chased Felicity down the hall that day at school, but I think she
may know that Reamer took it upon himself to quit her instead of
Felicity telling him to do it. We’ll see what she says,” Seals
replied.

“Okay, I’ll be waiting to hear it,” Murdock
said.

Seals looked at her phone; she gasped! “I
just got an e-mail from someone who’s claiming that they know who
did this to Felicity!”

Sherwood and Murdock looked at her.

“What does it say?” Sherwood asked.

Seals read it. “This person said that they
don’t wanna tell me over the e-mail, they say they wanna tell me in
person.”

“Well, what the hell are they waiting for?
Tell them to meet us at the station because that’s where we’re
headed!” Sherwood said.

Seals wrote this person back. “Done.”

“Well, it looks like the two of you are
gonna be able to solve this after all,” Murdock said with a
smile.

Chapter 30

I
t
was almost two hours later, and Seals and Sherwood sat at the
station as they still waited for this person who sent the anonymous
e-mail to Seals to show up, but they were getting discouraged by
the second, and Seals’ numerous attempts to contact this person
went unanswered. Determined to have this person talk to her, she
tried one last time. She sent the e-mail, and gasped. “Yeah,
should’ve fuckin’ known. All of the sudden this e-mail doesn’t
exist anymore!” she replied as she shook her head.

Sherwood shook his head. “See now, these are
the games that I don’t like people playing with us. The person was
probably full of shit anyway.”

“Probably,” Seals agreed. “But how did they
get my e-mail? That’s only given out on the cards that I give to
people.”

“Who knows?” Sherwood replied. “It could’ve
been someone that you gave your card to and now they wanna confess
to what they did to Felicity, or they do know who did this to her
and really wanted to tell us, but backed out.”

“Yeah, you’re right. There are so many
possibilities,” Seals said. “But you know, I was thinking about
that phone that I found.”

Sherwood looked at her. “What about it?”

“I don’t know. Something about it keeps
bugging me. I’m gonna call Erin,” Seals said. She got on her
phone.

“Hello?” Erin said.

“Hi, Erin. This is Detective Seals. How are
you?” Seals asked.

“Not good,” Erin honestly replied.

“What’s wrong besides what’s been going on
with Felicity?” Seals asked.

Erin sighed. “Moves kicked me out of the
club and wouldn’t let me back in tonight. I’m at home right
now.”

“Really?!” Seals replied in surprise. “Just
why would they wanna kick you out? You’re a regular there.”

“They wouldn’t tell me. They just said that
I couldn’t go back in there when I tried to get back in because I
wanted to talk to Carson,” Erin replied.

“I see,” Seals said. “Well, can you come to
the station right now and talk to us? We were just at Moves tonight
so I’m sorry we missed you there. There was an incident that
happened to us there and—”

“I know,” Erin informed her.

Seals slightly gasped.

You do
?! I take
it that you found out through social media?”

“Exactly,” Erin said. “A lot of people on my
feed on all of my social media pages are talking about it. Sorry
that it happened to the two of you.”

“We’re okay, Erin. Thanks. We were actually
inside when it happened,” Seals said.

“Oh, okay,” Erin said. “Well, I’ll be there
soon. I just have to let my parents know that I’m coming there to
talk to you because that’s the only way they’ll let me be out this
late.”

“Okay, great. We’ll see you when you get
here,” Seals said.

About a half hour later, Erin arrived at the
station and was directly led to an interrogation room where she
waited for Sherwood and Seals.

Sherwood and Seals appeared in the room
minutes later.

“Thanks for showing up, Erin. I know it’s
late so it was nice for you to come here on short notice,” Seals
said.

“No problem. I haven’t been able to sleep
anyway because of what’s been going on, so I’m usually awake all of
the time now. I just hope that this ends soon,” Erin said.

“We hope so, too. We know how hard it’s been
on you and on the Gains family, but we need for you to hang in
there because Felicity needs you,” Seals said.

Erin tried not to get emotional. “I know she
does.”

“Well, the reason why we have you in here is
because of what happened to us at Moves hours ago. Since someone
stole the phone out of our car, what type of phone did Felicity
have?” Seals asked.

“The latest one that’s out;
the more expensive one. She
always
has to have the latest phone that’s out. It’s pink
in color but has a crystal cover on it with different colored
hearts all over it that are red and pink. She told me it was a
symbol of love and confidence.”

Seals and Sherwood looked at each other as
they tried not to gasp. It was late and they were starting to get
tired, but this woke them right up!

“Wow,” Sherwood said.

“Well, we might as well tell you, Erin, that
we now have reason to believe that it was Felicity’s phone that I
found underneath a dumpster in the back of Moves while Sherwood and
I were waiting for someone to answer the door,” Seals informed
her.

Erin gasped in
shock!
“No way!”

“Yeah, it’s true, Erin. I saw something
sparkling underneath one of the dumpsters while I was scanning the
ground. Once I got a closer look, I noticed that it was a phone
cover, but didn’t know if the whole phone was attached to it since
the person who disposed of it could’ve taken it and had no need for
the cover. I was able to remove it from underneath the dumpster and
saw that the phone was attached to the cover. I turned it on but it
wouldn’t turn on so I just concluded that the battery was dead. I
put it in my car and was gonna charge it up when I got back here,
but while we were talking to Carson inside Moves about Felicity, he
informed us that we needed to get outside right away. When I saw
that the passenger side window to our car was broken, I knew
someone had stolen it, and I was right,” Seals said.

Erin shook her head. “I don’t believe this!
Whoever took it must’ve known that it was Felicity’s phone, though!
I don’t see how they could not have! Someone must be watching the
two of you since you’re trying to get the person or people
responsible for what happened to her. And it’s obvious that the
person who had her phone hacked into it because she always had that
four-digit passcode.”
