Finding Lacey (2 page)

“Oh, my walks around the neighborhood are quite educational” Lex chuckled.  “Why are you asking?”

Pulling out a red silk wrap-around dress that always showed off her best assets, hugged her in all the right places and was easy to get off in a hurry, if need be. Lacey held it up to her body, looked in the full-length mirror and nodded in approval.

“I bumped in to him at the park and he asked me to dinner tonight.”

Lacey dropped the phone as Lex proceeded to scream in her ear.

When Lacey couldn’t hear her from the floor anymore, she picked up the cell phone and started listening again.

“Shut the front door!  Ooh, it’s Thursday.  Maybe you’re his flavor for the weekend.”

Damn.
Lacey’s stomach soured.  She wished Lex hadn’t said that.

“It’s just dinner, Lex!  Come on.”

“Girl, you haven’t been out on a date in months and you haven’t gotten laid in years.  You need a man that will treat you right.  Someone strong and handsome and rich to take care of your
every
need.”  Lex actually sounded like she was going to have an orgasm right there on the phone.

Lacey giggled, then sighed quietly.  “It’s just dinner, Lex.”

“Yeah right.  You need this way more than anyone I know.  Bobby’s been gone a long time hun.  Why not live a little.  You’re too young for the old maid act.”

Deep down, Lacey knew Lex was right.  But, she wasn’t a one-night stand kind of girl.  She was more like a knight in shining armor or a Prince Charming kind of girl.  But her body was dying to be touched again.  And, frankly, the late night trysts with her dildo collection were getting boring.  She wanted nothing more than to wrap herself around a muscular hunk and feel his heat thrusting into her repeatedly, mercilessly until she exploded over and over again.

“Still there?”  Lex was still talking to her.

“Yeah, sorry.  Was just picking out clothes for tonight.”

“Make it sexy, girl.  You still have that red dress?”

“Yep, already pulled it out of moth balls.”

“Ew.  Really?”

“Just teasing.  It was in the back of the closet.  Okay, I have to go shower.”

“Don’t forget to wax girl!”

“Oh shit.  I can’t do that tonight.”

“Well, shave at least.”

“You really think?  I mean first date?”

“Do you forget who you are talking to?  Look, if you don’t want him freaking out over beaver dam down there.”

“You are sick, you know that?”

“Love you!  Call me tomorrow.”  Lex was laughing so hard Lacey barely made out what she was saying as she hung up.

Taking a last minute glance in the mirror, Lacey smiled at her reflection.  She had showered and carefully shaved everything she could.  Her dress fit perfectly and she had finished the look with black stockings and her favorite black studded stilettos.  Her long strawberry blonde hair was wrapped up in a delicate chignon, with a few tendrils left to hang strategically around her face and down her back.  Her brown eyes were outlined in neutral shades with just enough kohl to make them smoky.  A spritz of her favorite perfume, some lip gloss and a few pieces of jewelry and she was ready.

Lacey waited in the living room, planning to bolt out of the house when Shawn arrived.  Still nervous about dating a stranger, the last thing she wanted was to have him in her house.  As he pulled up in her driveway, she slowly made her way out of the front door, trying to hide her nervousness.  Shawn got out and stood next to his BMW, watching as she approached.  Lacey’s heart raced and heat pooled in her belly.  Shawn truly did look a Greek God.  Standing in tan dress pants and a navy blue blazer, he looked comfortable yet confident.  His pale blue dress shirt was unbuttoned just a little and even in the dim light, Lacey could see tan smooth skin underneath.  His hair was slicked back just enough to make him look suave.  His smile was breathtaking; perfect and beautiful.  Lacey watched as his intense blue eyes turned dark as he scanned over her body.  For a split second, she detected a bulge forming in his tan pants, but he quickly turned to open her door.

“You look amazing, Lacey.” Shawn breathed near her ear as she passed him to get in to the car.  “And you smell delicious.”

Shivers ran down her spine and Lacey tried to take deep breaths to calm herself as she watched Shawn walk around to get in his side of the car.  Her satin panties were already wet with desire and she wondered how she’d make it through the night without throwing herself at him.

“You look very handsome,” Lacey said as he climbed in next to her.  His cologne mixed with his own scent and the spicy, earthy aroma made her belly flip-flop.  She tried to control her breathing, once again, as he smiled at her.
He could do toothpaste commercials with that beautiful mouth.
His lips were red and full, almost as if he had been sucking on something right before she saw him.

Lacey’s mind began picturing that mouth sucking on every inch of her body, nibbling her neck, teasing her rock hard nipples, tasting the soft skin of her thighs and making her scream his name.
Stop it.  Damn.
She was never going to make it through dinner at this point.  Shaking her head to clear her thoughts…again…she searched for something to talk about.

“I’m sorry about Max today.  I don’t know what got in to him.” Lacey blushed remembering the scene at the park.

“Don’t be sorry, sweetheart.  It’s nature.  Males will go after a female they want, even if they shouldn’t.”

Shawn’s words made Lacey squirm in her seat.  Trying to get her body to relax was going to be tough as hell tonight.  It was like everything Shawn said had a sexual under-tone to it.  Either that or she was far too horny to think straight.

“Here we are,” Shawn said as they pulled up in front of Raoul’s.  It was the fanciest place in town; not only serving amazing food but had a very intimate ambience.  The valet took over the car as Shawn escorted Lacey in to the building.  His large hand rested at her lower back and electric currents rippled through her core.

The hostess escorted them to a cozy table in the furthest corner of the restaurant.  Candles created a romantic atmosphere at the table.  After helping Lacey with her chair, Shawn went to his own chair.  Lacey could hardly keep her eyes off  him as he began to sit, his bulge still evident when he sat down.  She hadn’t meant to stare, but it was right at eye level.
Was he still aroused? Aroused again? Or just so large that it was always like that?

They ordered drinks and their dinners.  The conversation was light at first, as they each took turns discussing their jobs, their hobbies, jogging and their dogs.  When Lacey reached over to grab her glass of water at the same time Shawn reached for his glass of wine, their hands brushed.  Lacey almost knocked over her glass as a tingle of heat sizzled up her arm.  Eyes wide, she looked at Shawn.  He was staring at her with a confused look on his face.  Lacey stood up suddenly, excused herself, and made a beeline for the ladies’ room.

Oh my gosh what is going on?
Lacey put some towels under the cold water, then began to carefully blot at her face, trying desperately to cool herself.  Her skin was flushed and her eyes were wide, pupils dilated.  Taking a few slow breathes, her heart finally started to calm down and the ache between her legs subsided.

She didn’t understand what was going on.  Was it just pent up sexual frustration or was it something more to do with Shawn?  If he was really the ladies’ man Lex inferred then he’d be an amazing lover, but is that all she wanted right now?  Lacey’s body slunk a little as she made her way back to the table.  She knew she wanted love and marriage and a family.  The odds were that Shawn wasn’t the settling down type.  Her heart sank.  Would she ever find someone who thrilled her with a simple touch and wanted to be with her forever?

“Hi,” Lacey said quietly as she sat down.

“Everything okay?”  Shawn looked at her, his azure eyes searched her face.

“Yes.  I think I am ready to go home though.  It’s been a long day for me and I’m tired.”

Shawn simply nodded and waved to the waiter who promptly brought over the check.  Shawn paid in cash and tipped the waiter generously before escorting Lacey out to the valet station.  He didn’t say much, but glanced down at her from time to time. The drive home was just as quiet and Lacey sunk down in the seat feeling lost and empty.

“Did you enjoy dinner?” Shawn glanced over as he broke the silence.

“Yes. Very much. Thank you.”

“Then, may I ask what is troubling you?”  Shawn pulled in to her driveway and put the car in park.  He turned off the engine and Lacey felt her nerves bundle up.

Lacey sighed.  She may as well get it over with.  “I’m not in to one-night stands Shawn.”

“Me either.”

Lacey’s head snapped up to look at him.  Was he telling the truth?  Of course he was.  He was into weekend flings she remembered.

“I don’t do casual very well either,” she admitted shifting her eyes to her hands folded in her lap.

“I understand.”  Shawn’s voice was gentle as he reached over and put his finger under her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes.  “I just want to get to know you Lacey.  For over a year, we’ve kept passing one another and other than an occasional ‘hello’ we’ve never even talked to one another.  I’d like to take you out and learn more about you and what makes you happy.”

Lacey stared in to his eyes.  They shone softly as he spoke to her.

“I’d like that too.”  Lacey admitted.

“May I walk you to your door?”

“Okay.”

Lacey walked slowly, enjoying how Shawn’s hand rested on her lower back again.  She fumbled and pulled her keys out.  She knew she was stalling for time, since the goodnight kiss was always awkward.

Shawn placed his hands on her shoulders and turned her towards him.  Lacey’s heart began to race, her body quivering at his slight touch on her skin.  He leaned down and placed a whisper of a kiss on her forehead.  Lacey looked up at him, and saw tenderness in his face.  Shawn took a step back and instantly Lacey missed his warmth.  Feeling bold, Lacey took a step forward, closing the distance between them once again and stood on her tiptoes, placing a light kiss on his lips.  His lips were warm and soft.  She had only meant to give him a quick kiss, but once she felt those lips on hers her body leaned in to his.  Shawn dipped in to Lacey, nibbling on her bottom lip.  A small moan rose up in her chest and she parted her lips for him.

Shawn brought one strong arm down from her shoulder, along her back, pulling her body in tight to his while bringing the other hand up to the back of her neck.  Shawn’s fingers reached up and pulled the clip that held up her chignon, causing her curls to tumble down her back.  Lacey brought her arms up to grab on to his shoulders, nails digging into the muscles.  Shawn groaned and Lacey felt his arousal grind into her belly.

“Not here,” Shawn rasped.

“Okay.”

Lacey fumbled with the keys all the while Shawn nibbled on her neck and shoulders from behind her.  He brought his large hands around her waist.  His hot breath was causing her to completely unravel.  She had to have him.  Now.  She’d never felt this reckless, this worked up, this intense and she didn’t want it to stop.

The door burst open and crashed in to the wall.  Without taking his hands from her waist, Shawn leaned over and kicked it shut with his foot.  His lips crushed hers as Lacey met his every move with as much passion.  Max barked and came running towards them but Lacey merely shooed him away with one hand and he loped away.  In frenzied movements, Lacey yanked off Shawn’s blazer as he undid the knot on her wrap dress.  Their tongues dueled with one another, thrusting and parrying back and forth. Lacey jerked his shirt out of his trousers as Shawn finally got the dress opened.  His hands moved to her breasts, tweaking and pinching her nipples through her satin bra.  The pleasure-pain streaked shocks through her body.
