Five Things I Can’t Live Without

1 My computer. Fortunately, it’s not just for googling anymore (though nothing beats a good google every now and again).

2 A mother who carries a printout of my book cover in her purse and shows it around like it’s her grandchild. A father who, when I was sixteen, drove me to the office of a literary agent to personally deliver my (unsolicited) manuscript (and did a pretty good job of seeming surprised when it was rejected).

3 A CD player in my car. If I’m driving, I’m singing. Badly.

4 Love that’s friendship, and friendship that’s love.

5 At least five more spots on this list. It turns out I’m one of those shifty sorts who, if given three wishes, would wish for three more. But what about sugar/alcohol/guilty pleasures, my elliptical machine (to counteract my guilty pleasures), meandering conversations, a reach that exceeds my grasp, Trader Joe’s … ?
