Forbidden Steps: A Stepbrother Romance (11 page)

Rather than let her rest, Colin pulled Steph up to her knees by her hair. “You’d be pissed if we stopped now, wouldn’t you?”

“Mmm, maybe a little. But if you touch my pussy now, I may have to kill you.” Steph gave Ashley a calculated look that made her blood run cold. “I think I was too nice to her. I’m going to be sore for days. She must pay.”

Colin laughed, rubbing Ashley’s arms as though he’d sensed that she wasn’t sure they were just having fun anymore. “She means that in the most loving way. But before we go further, I don’t think you and Joey have been properly introduced.”

Ashley rolled her eyes and shoved him away, crawling up the bed to sit in front of Joey when he gave her a sheepish smile. “I promise you, we’re not all completely insane. I’m as new to this as you are. I’m sorry this started…well, with them pretty much taking you hostage.”

“You won’t hear me complaining.” Joey tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “I love Colin. And I clearly like Steph. But you’re the only one who gave me a choice in all this.”

“I hate the idea of you being here because you feel trapped.”

“I don’t.” Concern filled his eyes. “Do you?”

Placing her hands on his chest, she brought her lips close to his, and shook her head. “Not anymore.”

His kiss was very different than Colin’s. There wasn’t the same, naughty thrill, but there was something else. Kindling passion, exploring the newness of his unique flavor, the sensation that he wanted her for no other reason than because he found her damn sexy.

Who knew what this would turn into tomorrow? Today, it was exciting and liberating. Any reservations she’d had, she’d trashed them. Life was too damn short to dwell on how she was supposed to be a good girl and make up for all the ways she’d fucked up.

On impulse, she straddled him, gasping through her parted lips into his mouth as he wrapped an arm around her and took a firm hold of his dick before guiding himself into her hot, wet pussy. He held her against him, helping her rise and fall slowly, letting her set the pace as she gripped the length of him inside her. Up until only the tip penetrated her, down until he filled her completely.

When Colin pressed his chest against her back, she leaned into Joey, forcing him to lay on the bed. She shuddered as Colin slid a finger inside her, stretching her a little more than Joey’s did alone.

“What do you think, honey? Steph took your fist.” Colin nipped her earlobe. “Want to see how much you can take?”

She bit her lip, meeting Joey’s eyes, wondering what he’d think of her if she said yes.

He clearly misunderstood her worry. “Fuck, Colin. You’re going to hurt her. If Steph’s not up for another round, use me.”

Colin chuckled, his breath stirring the hair at the nape of Ashley’s neck. “I’ll take you up on that later, Joey. For now though, we’re playing this game unless she says no.”

There was suddenly much more moisture between her and Joey then there’d been before. A slender finger joined Colin’s.

“You can do this, baby.” Steph pressed a soft kiss to Ashley’s hip. “This lube will make it easier. They’ll enjoy each other and you.” She winked up at Ashley. “You get them both first, you lucky bitch.”

Ashley stuck her tongue out at Steph, her pulse racing as she considered how crazy—and how
hot
—this would be. Rather than letting either Steph or Colin carefully introduce her to new experiences, she was finally getting a chance to dive in herself.

Granted, it had been Colin’s idea, but she had the strangest feeling that he didn’t expect her to agree. He was taunting Steph and toying with Joey. He likely planned to use his fingers until she admitted it was too much.

Nothing was too much anymore.

For her anyway. Maybe Colin would be the one crying ‘Uncle’ at the last minute.

“I want you, Colin.” She rubbed her cheek against Joey’s chest. “Both of you, fucking me at the same time, sounds incredible.”

Pressing open-mouthed kisses on her shoulder, Colin continued stretching her with Steph. Under her, Joey held still, but beads of sweat gathered at his temples and moistened every inch of his flesh touching hers. When Colin began to pump his fingers into her, stroking Joey’s dick in the process, Joey tensed and tipped his head back.

Fighting to relax around him, Ashley licked her lips. “Now, Colin! He won’t last much longer if you keep playing with him.”

Bracing one hand between her shoulder blades, Colin fit his cock flush against Joey’s. Then he went still. “Ashley, you don’t have to—”

“Please! Ah!” She cried out as Colin worked his way into her body. Climax hit her abruptly, causing both men to groan as her cunt squeezed them. The pleasure billowed out, spreading further and further, tendrils of exquisite currents that fed off one another, bringing her up to another peak.

As though sensing she was ready to continue, Colin began to move. Slowly at first, then faster and faster. He reached down and Joey jerked. Ashley wasn’t sure what Colin was doing to the other man, but whatever it was made Joey swell even more inside her.

Not content being left out, Steph moved up the bed, kissing Joey and whispering to him before rising up on her knees to hover over his face. He fucked her with his tongue, his fingers digging into her ass as he struggled to thrust up into Ashley.

Steph watched them, her hands on her breasts, her eyes hooded and glazed. She shuddered as she came on Joey’s face. The second she dropped onto the bed, Ashley brought her mouth to Joey’s, licking all the sweet juices from his lips and panting into his mouth as a vicious, mindblowing orgasm stole the last of her strength.

She rode it out, her vision nothing but spots of light, her bones disappearing as her whole body hummed with fulfillment.

If Colin and Joey hadn’t continued to hold her, she was pretty sure she would have evaporated, leaving nothing behind but the sweet aroma of her lust. She didn’t feel solid for what seemed like hours.

And it must have been hours before any of them moved. Sleeping in a sticky tangle of bodies, Ashley opened her eyes to find the room dark. Joey stirred, then shoved at Colin’s shoulder.

“Damn, you’re heavy. Get off.”

Ashley grinned. He didn’t say a word about her still lying on top of him. Colin was only partially over Joey’s legs, but his arm over Ashley’s back was drawing them all into the mattress.

When Colin moved, Ashley snuggled against Joey, smiling when he stroked her hair. She tipped her lips up to Steph sleepily when her stepsister curled up to Joey’s side. The men watched them kiss, and before long there were hands and lips everywhere.

So tempting to let things get hot all over again, but she needed a shower. She squirmed out of the bed, giggling when Colin tried to pull her back in.

“You all go ahead without me. I need to wash up.” She slipped into the bathroom, not even bothering to close the door. Part of her hoped she wouldn’t be alone for long.

She wasn’t disappointed. By the time she’d soaked her hair, Steph was standing behind her, soaping up her back. Then Colin stepped under the spray, so sexy and hard, wet and ready, she decided she didn’t need to be
that
clean.

He kissed her, smoothing the moisture from her cheeks with his thumbs. His eyes searched hers. “You seem happy.”

“I am.” She inhaled sharply as Steph’s hand covered her breasts. “But how long can this really last? We can’t spend the rest of our lives together like this. Sex isn’t enough to build a relationship around.”

“No, but it’s a start.” Colin glanced over when Joey came into the bathroom. Seeing something in the other man’s expression, his lips thinned. “I need to know you and Steph have one another when I’m gone. That’s all that matters.”

“When you’re gone?” Ashley’s throat tightened when Joey nodded. She’d been afraid this would be temporary, but she hadn’t considered how true that could be. Once Colin and Joey were deployed, who knew if either of them would
ever
come back?

“Don’t focus on me—on either of us—leaving. Ashley, look at me.” Colin’s wet hands framed her face. “We’re here now. And we’ve got something good. Something that’s going to last.”

She wanted to believe him. And for the remainder of the night, she focused on giving them plenty to remember her by. Which meant she wasn’t sure she’d ever walk again by the next morning.

Wasn’t sure she wanted to when it was time for them to go.

But she did. She got dressed and saw them off at the airport. With a smile on her lips, without shedding a single tear, she said goodbye.

She saved the tears for when she went home with Steph. Over the next year, she got better at holding them in. There was so much to be grateful for. The letters from both men. The phone calls and FaceTime, which she looked forward to every week while she took courses to be a hairdresser.

Joey proposed to her while still stationed overseas. With Colin standing behind him, looking just as anxious about her answer as his best friend. Steph was already wearing
his
ring. Ashley had been thrilled for her, but this was different. Saying ‘yes’ to Joey meant this little arrangement they had going on would continue indefinitely.

Which would be awesome, but that wasn’t what had her nodding and sent tears of joy spilling down her cheeks.

She’d fallen in love with Joey. He was a perfect fit. Not just because he’d never force her to give up either of her stepsiblings, but because he was the first person in her life that truly believed she was strong enough to make it on her own. While Colin and Steph tried to convince her to move into their place permanently, Joey encouraged her to get her own apartment. To learn that she needed to be comfortable on her own, before she could really know if anyone else was good enough.

He saw her as the woman she was. Not damaged. Not desperate for protection and love.

Strong. Beautiful. And whole.

Agreeing to marry him didn’t scare her as much as the question she had for him the day he returned. Waiting just past security with Steph, she jumped to her feet when she spotted him, running to him, laughing and crying when he lifted her up in his arms.

“Stay with me.”

He grinned, spinning her around and around until she was dizzy. “Always!”

“No, I mean today!” She wrapped her arms around his neck. “I’m pretty sure you’ll drive me nuts at first. I may throw things at you. Maybe yell a little. But I don’t want to wait until we’re married to make it
our
home. I’m good alone. But I don’t want to be anymore.”

“Just the two of us?” His brow creased, as though he was afraid he shouldn’t have asked that. “You know I don’t mind if you want… I wasn’t expecting anything.”

“Unless you absolutely need Colin and Steph around…” Maybe she was the only one who’d seen what they had as something separate. She chewed at the inside of her cheek and shook her head. They might have started together, but things had changed. “No. Colin’s had you for long enough. I’m feeling selfish right now. Just the two of us. For at least a week or so.”

“Mmm, I like the sound of that.” He took her hand, snatching up his rucksack and canting his head in Colin’s direction before leading her to the exit. “I can share. But later. Much, much later.”

Epilogue

The noisy clatter of children running up and down the stairs was driving Steph insane, but she wouldn’t complain too much. She spent a lot of time at work and rarely got to see her nieces and nephews. Considering her relationship with her stepsister and brother-in-law, one would figure the family would be
very
close, but sometimes months went by before she saw any of them.

With how much Ashley’s oldest sons looked like Colin, it was hard not to wonder if there was some animosity there. Of course, the men always acted like old buddies whenever they were together, but maybe…

The scent of grilled meat filled the room as Colin and Joey came in from the patio. After a quick glance around the kitchen, Colin spotted her, winked, then pressed Joey against the fridge.

“Just think. If you get that place down the block, I can do this to you whenever the hell I want.” Colin let out a low growl and kissed Joey, while rubbing his hand over the swell under the zipper of Joey’s work pants.

Joey laughed and pushed Colin away. “We’ll see. I love all the kids, but they make having grownup fun difficult.”

“Was Ashley aware that you have twins in your family? After the second set, I figured she’d have you neutered.”

“Ha! I think you can share some of the blame there, buddy.” Joey opened the fridge, pulling out three beers, then putting one back when Steph shook her head. “I love having a big family though. My parents are the only ones that stopped at two. I’m surprised you and Steph did the same.”

“We’re trying for another. Not sure we could handle five like you and Ashley, but…three’s a good number.” Colin took a few long gulps from his beer. “Part of why we asked you over, actually.”

Joey choked on his beer. “Seriously? Dude, seven kids in the house? Not happening.”

The front door opened and Steph winced as her mother called her name and all the kids came storming down the stairs to show her some love. Joey’s eyes narrowed. He’d taken Ashley’s side in distancing from her mother, but neither of them had really given the woman a chance. She’d changed in the past five years. At first, when Colin and Steph had gotten married, she’d been embarrassed and kept her distance. When she’d gotten sick, her outlook on life had changed. She’d given up all her pretenses and was proud of being a grandmother. Her new husband was a good man, and between them both, Steph’s son and daughter had the family she’d always wanted for them.

She wanted the same for Ashley and her kids, but she wasn’t sure how to bring up the subject.

This family dinner was a good start though. After being estranged from her mother for years, Ashley had agreed to come. Probably with some prodding from Joey, but all that mattered was that she was here.

Steph led the way to the living room, smiling as her son, Jaden, and her daughter, Melanie, settled at either side of her stepmother on the sofa. Jaden introduced his cousins to their grandmother.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you all.” Grace held up an overloaded shopping bag. “I brought gifts!”

The kids cheered, instantly accepting her. Grace flashed Steph a brilliant smile, but it faded a little as she looked past Steph and the men.

“Hello, mother.” Ashley stopped by Colin’s side, inhaling slowly as he gave her hand a little squeeze. She offered him a fleeting smile before moving in close to Joey. “It’s nice to see you.”

Grace went still, then pulled away from the children as she stood. “I won’t ask you to give me another chance. Not yet. But you’re here, so maybe…maybe I can make up for the mistakes I made. I love you and I’m so proud of you. If that’s the only thing you ever want to hear from me again, I understand.”

Ashley’s lips quivered. She crossed the room, a sob breaking out before she fell into her mother’s arms. “I missed you. I’m sorry it took me so long to admit it.”

“Don’t be sorry. If it wasn’t for your brother and sister, I don’t know what would have happened to you. I was too self-centered to be the mother you needed.” Grace kissed her daughter’s cheek. “Maybe I can be now.”

“I’d like that.”

They had dinner and everyone spent the night. Ashley and Joey were here for the week, shopping for houses in the area since Joey had taken a position at Colin’s repair shop, but without a babysitter, nothing would come of it.

By the end of the week, Ashley decided her mother could manage with the kids for one night. Steph wasn’t sure if she was more nervous, or excited. When she tucked Melanie in, she couldn’t help but be grateful that her daughter looked a lot like her. Because if anyone looked hard enough, they could see that Colin wasn’t her father.

Melanie would be three in a few months. Her conception marked the last time Steph had slept with anyone besides her husband.

Colin loved both their children, but she could tell he missed the excitement of sharing a bed with Ashley and Joey. The last time they’d all been together, Colin and Joey had been more…
affectionate
toward one another. Since then, there’d been a lot of teasing. She’d caught text messages between the two that made Colin groping him in the kitchen nothing more than expected.

Still, after all this time, were Ashley and Joey even the same wild couple that used to consider Steph and Colin an extension of their relationship? With kids, and jobs, and all the rest, kinky, uninhibited sex was a low priority.

The familiarity of being longtime lovers had faded. What if it was awkward and uncomfortable? What if nothing happened at all?

After splurging on a beautiful suite for the night, hopefully it wouldn’t be too disappointing.

You have Colin. Even if they don’t feel like fooling around, he’s still a fucking stud. The night won’t be wasted.

She smiled at the thought. Being a responsible adult limited their play time as much as anyone else, but every moment alone was well spent. If nothing else, Joey and Ashley could watch. Maybe take some notes.

But the second Colin opened the door, it was Ashley he reached for, not Steph. Wasting no time, he claimed her lips, holding her against the wall and tugging at the buttons of her plain, blue dress shirt.

Steph wasn’t jealous. Actually, seeing them together after so long had her wet and ready in seconds. She looked over at Joey, who was shutting the door after sliding the ‘Do not disturb’ tag into the key slot.

He gave Ashley and Colin a passing glance before striding right up to Steph and lifting her up in his arms. His kiss was unexpectedly sweet, and she wasn’t sure how to respond to the tenderness.

Until he caught her off-guard by pushing her to her knees. Her mouth watered as he lowered the zipper of his jeans, pulling out his cock and bringing it to her lips as if expecting her to suck him off was the most natural thing in the world.

All her worries faded away as she took him in her mouth. His grip on her hair as he fucked her mouth, the taste of him on her tongue while she heard Colin’s low growl of pleasure in the background, had her core tightening with desire. This was exactly what she’d wanted.

What she needed.

She bobbed her head until her jaw was sore, saliva slicking his length and spilling past her lips. They’d been apart for so long, she expected hard and fast to start, but he held back. With his fists pressed to his bare thighs, he panted, groaning in a way that made her sure he would finally come.

Instead, he jerked away from her and dropped to his knees. Gathering her face in his hand, he let out a breathless laugh. “I need more than your mouth, love. Fuck, I missed you.”

When he tugged her pale pink cashmere sweater over her head, she quickly moved to help him out, undoing her skirt and dropping it to the floor. She hadn’t bothered with panties, so by the time he laid her on her back on the floor, she was completely naked.

He was only wearing a black t-shirt as he moved to lay his body over hers. He was jerked up to his knees by Colin, who knelt behind him.

“You know what the price is for fucking my wife, Joey.” He sucked on the side of Joey’s neck. “Are you ready to pay?”

Pressing his eyes shut, Joey nodded and let Colin remove his t-shirt. One hand on the back of his neck, Colin forced Joey to lean over Steph. Joey’s whole body tensed as Colin pressed against him.

Ashley stepped up to his side, still so beautiful, even though her body had changed after carrying her babies. Her lush curves had Steph wishing she was closer, but Ashley’s focus was on Colin.

“Try not to break my husband, bro.” She handed Colin a bottle of lube. “My fantasy doesn’t involve him refusing to ever let you touch him again.”

“Your fantasy?” Steph stared at her little stepsister, not sure she knew the woman anymore. Over the years, she’d come to see Ashley as more reserved. The dirty fucking of the first time they’d all been together had been a one-time thing. Since then it had been more of a swap. Still fun, but nothing extreme.

They’d all settled down. Sex was great, alone or together, but she’d assumed they’d just switch up partners in a new way. She’d be with each of the men, then her sister. The men would experiment a little, and that would be it.

With a girlish giggle that made the tiny hairs on Steph’s arms rise, Ashley nodded. “They’re both mine, Steph. I can have them whenever I want, but seeing them together? With you?” Ashley ran her hand down Colin’s bare back. “I’ve never wanted anything more.”

Steph didn’t have a chance to work out how she felt about her stepsister’s words. As Colin slid into Joey’s body, he pushed Joey into her. The deep, rough penetration had her digging her nails into Joey’s shoulders. She kissed him as he trembled, either from pain or pleasure. Likely a little of both.

Sitting by her head, Ashley smoothed her hand over Steph’s cheek. As Steph gasped at a deep thrust, Ashley leaned down to kiss her. Then whispered. “Thank you.”

Those two words made Steph’s throat tighten, and she held Ashley’s hand as the pleasure blurred her vision. She’d wanted to take care of Ashley. Give her everything she deserved and more. Keep her happy and safe.

Success meant she would continue to give it to her. Forever.

And if the idea didn’t scare Steph a bit, it wouldn’t be as thrilling. They were a family without boundaries. Sharing their bodies. And their love.

All good things must come to an end.

But this wasn’t
good
. This was wicked.
