“Will you be here when we get back?” Jazz asks with fear that he will be gone when she comes back.

“I’m not going anywhere princess.” He says as he looks at me and then back at her.

“I have to get their car seats from my car.” I say to Nic just as they’re going out the door.

I run down the stairs and open the door to my garage. Dean’s right behind me to help. I open the automatic door so we won’t have to carry their seats out through the house. He already has one of the back doors open.

“Why are there all kinds of blankets back here with the seats.” Dean asks me.

“The heater doesn’t work in my car. I have to make sure that they’ll stay warm.” I respond embarrassed.

I can tell by the look on his face that my answer pisses him off.

“I’ve been doing the best I fucking can. I don’t make a lot of money. I have to pay for the roof over our heads, the food in their stomachs, and fucking insurance that I have to fucking pay for out of pocket. I’ve been doing this for almost six fucking years Dean. I can’t afford a newer car with a working heater.”

“I’m not mad at you babe. I’m mad at myself because you and my babies have had to go without.” He says as he moved from the back seat and has me pressed against the front door caging me in.

I think he’s just put a small part of my broken heart back together with that statement. He gives me a hard kiss and moves away from me. He gets one car seat out and I get the other seat and we put them into Nic’s Volvo. We then get the twins situated in her car. I tell Dean to put the child safety lock on and I do the same. Zeus, Shadow, and Hound have also come out. I see two other guys that I’ve not meet yet standing by the bikes. They are parked in the visitor section. Zeus whistles and calls one of them over. He tells him to follow Nic to the park. He tells the guy that not one hair better be out of place when the kids get back.

“Yes Sir.” The guy says as he shakes his head.

“I’m going to go with you, babe. Get in the passenger seat because I’m driving the cage.” Shadow says to Nic.

I look at Nic and I think she’s getting ready to go off on him but decides not to. Shadow has a smirk on his face. I wonder what’s going on between the two of them. I can’t keep up with myself at the moment. I won’t get into her business and if she wants to talk about it she’ll come to me.

Chapter 14

Now

    We walk back into the house and I wonder what Zeus wants to talk about. He’s still looking at me weird. I have to bite my tongue not too smart off to him. He clears his throat.

“What I have to say is very important. You should probably take a seat for what I have to say.” Zeus says to me.

I look at him and then to Dean and can see he’s serious. I sit down on my couch.

“Okay I’m ready I think. What do you need to tell me?”

“I’m going to start this story when I was eighteen years old. I had a girlfriend that was a year younger than me. She was in pageants since she was a small child. I thought that I loved her and thought she loved me also. She was seventeen when we found out she was pregnant. Her parents threatened to cut her off. We decided to get married and that seem to appease them. A couple of months later her parents died. I also found out she that she’d aborted my baby. She told me she was not even sure that the baby was mine. She wanted to get out from under her parents and the only way to do that was to marry me. I was pissed and left her and moved back to Harlan. I filed for divorce there. She was having problems getting her parents money so the only way she would sign the divorce papers was if I paid her spousal support for five years. I wanted to be done with her so I agreed to the stipulation she put on me. I have a half-brother that kept in touch with her through the years. He never told me but she never aborted my child. I just found out about her.” Zeus explains to me.

My hands are all sweaty and I know what’s coming next.

“Who’s your ex-wife?” I look him in the eyes and ask.

“Ali’s my ex-wife and Pete’s my half-brother.” He confirms.

“Are you telling me you’re my daddy?” I ask with tears welling up in my eyes.

I swear I sound just like Jazz did a few short hours ago when he confirms that he is. I’m bawling my eyes out. He comes and sits next to me and grabs me into a tight hug. I hold on to him like he might disappear. Dean’s on the other side of me rubbing my back letting me know that he’s right here.

“When did you find out about me?” I ask both of them.

“We figured it out last night baby doll.” My dad says.

As the two of them sit next to me they tell me that they live in Harlan. They want to know if I would consider moving there. I look at both of them and wonder if I could up and move me and kids there. The only answer I have is hell yes. I don’t have anything keeping me here. I can find a school for the twins and a Doctor’s Office to work at. The only downer is that Nic won’t be the twins’ Doctor.

“Yeah I can move to Harlan. I need to put in my notice at work. I need to let my landlord Brian know that I’ll be moving. I need at least two weeks to leave my job and send my resume out. I also find a house down there for me and the kids.” I say to them.

“Bullshit. You and my kids will be living with me. I’ll give you a week to resign from your job and pack what you want to take with you.” Dean says to me.

I’m ready to fight back when he grabs my hands in his.

“Please don’t fight me on this. You’ve been doing this alone for six years. You have done a hell of a job. It’s time for me to take care of my family. That starts from this moment on.” He says with a plea in his eyes to understand where he’s coming from.

“Okay.” I shake my head yes and tell him as tears leave my eyes again. I can’t fight with his reasoning.

“I’ve cried more in twenty-four hours than I have in six years.” I say with a laugh.

They both laugh and tell me that it’s okay as long as I don’t make a habit of crying. We all laugh and I go to the bathroom to splash some water on my face.

“Does Ali still lives in the same place?” Dad asks as I make my way back into the living room.

“I think she owns the place. I don’t know for sure. I haven’t seen or talked to her in over five years.” I tell them both.

Now I’ve got two very angry men with their fist clinched tight in my presence. I know she’s gonna be fucked when they show up there. I hope she still lives there.

“I want to go with you to confront her. If we’re lucky Pete will be there also.” I say to them.

    We make our way outside and walk towards the bikes. Zeus has a Black Chrome Soft Tail Classic at least that what he tells me. Deans bike’s a Black Chrome Dyna Wide Glide and it’s a beauty.

“Hop on.” Dean says to me as he and dad get on their bikes and I do as he asks.

I remember thinking earlier this is what I wanted when I heard their bikes just a few short hours ago. The Prospect that stayed behind gets onto his bike and we ride to Ali’s house. She’s going to be in for a shock. I hope she’ll be shitting her pants. We pull up to her house and the place looks the same as it did the last time I was here. She must have heard us pull up. She’s out of her door and coming down the driveway to give us hell. She sees it is us that pulled into her driveway. She stops dead in her tracks and starts shaking her head in what I would guess is an oh shit kind of way. She realizes that she’s in too deep because she yells for Pete. He comes out of the house without a shirt on and his pants unbuttoned. I see his eyes get huge and his jaw drops when he sees me and Zeus standing in front of him and Ali. She tries to grab me, but Dean and my dad move in to protect me. She gets this really ugly look on her face and she starts to say something when dad stops her.

“You better watch what you say to my daughter you fucking cunt! I might not be able to do anything legally to you for lying and keeping her away from me. Here’s the thing though you fucking bitch; I’ve got enough sway in this state to make your life even more miserable than it already is. You fucking hear me cunt?” He says to her with hatred in his tone.

“You’re my fucking brother. My fucking flesh and bone. You kept my daughter a fucking secret from me her whole life. I should fucking kill you. I’m going to do something even worse to you motherfucker. I’m cutting you off completely. You’ll never see another penny. You both are so fucking stupid thinking I wouldn’t find out. I’m sure you never put money away or invested in anything either motherfucker. So you’re fucked. Don’t even think about asking momma or pops for anything. I’ll be telling them what you have done just as soon as I take my baby doll home. She’s going home so she can meet the fucking family you two pieces of fucking shit denied her.” He says to Pete and Ali.

“Don’t ever try and contact me, the family, or my baby doll. You fucking deserve each other. I hope you two have a fucking miserable life together.” He says to them both.

“I love you Eric. I have always loved you. I’m sorry.” Ali says to dad.

“You’re sorry. You’re a sorry piece of shit. Bitch you’re not sorry for the hell you put my little girl through. You weren’t sorry until your bitch ass got caught. You’re nothing to me. You weren’t even a decent mother to my child, you fucking cunt. I might’ve forgiven you if you had told me about her; but both of you kept her a secret. So know you and Pete are fucked.” He says to her.

He and Dean turn me around and we start to move towards the bikes when Ali speaks up.

“This is the exact reason I’ve always hated you. I knew he would love you more than me. Just like my parents would have. You ruined my life by being born and taking away the only man I ever wanted. Then my parents left most of their money, property, and life insurance to you and not me. So when I found out you were in love with that boy I ruined your life. Did Dean tell you about me sucking his dick? Well, well, well… By the look on your face that would be a No.” She says to me with glee in her voice.

I feel like I’m about to get sick when I feel Dean tense up and I know in my heart what she said is true. I feel him step away from me and I watch as he gets so close to her face.

“Tell the whole fucking story, you fucking cunt bitch. If you only want to tell bits and pieces of the story bitch; I’ll tell her the whole story right here right now.” He says with pure menace.

“I was laying in bed waiting for you to come by after work. I must have dosed off because when I wake up the lights were off I’m on the receiving end of a blow job. By the time he’s done retelling the story it’s taking everything in me not to kick her ass.

“Did you know I was pregnant when you went to him?” I ask her.

“I did. I saw how sick to your stomach you were and tired all the time. I put two and two together. I knew that you didn’t have any idea at that point.” She confirms to me.

Zeus has loosened his hold on me because he’s focusing on keeping his temper in check. I run full throttle at her and knock her to the ground. I’m on top of her punching her anywhere I can. I’m screaming and punching her for everything she’s put me through. She’s trying to get away from me. I continue my assault and pour my hatred out on to her. Next thing I know I’m being picked up by Dean. He’s hugging me tight. He is telling me that everything’s going to be okay from now on. I now have a family and they’ll always have my back.

“On Monday we’ll go see a lawyer and find out about the trust that was set up for you.” He whispers in my ear.

“Is the house mine bitch?” I ask

“It’s all yours” she sneers.

“You need to be gone by Monday. I’ll be seeing the lawyer then and I’ll have you arrested.”

I turn around and tell my dad and Dean I’m ready to go home now.
