Fully Automatic
You might think you know Brad’s story, but think again. There’s so much more to his story than what Valerie
knew. See Brad before Valerie came into his life and, when he was playing back burner to Ethan, see what Brad was up to when no one else in the band was looking.
Valerie might have thought she and Brad were inevitable and maybe, in the back of his mind, Brad might have felt that way too, but he didn’t just sit around waiting for her. See the secret side of Brad that you had no idea existed. What kept the driving force behind Fully Automatic focused even while his heart was breaking?
When Brad caught Nick outside the apartment after work, he asked him to take a walk. He was still wearing his work coveralls, but he needed to feel everyone out. “How you feeling?”
“What do you mean?”
“The past few weeks have been pretty emotional. You holding up okay, man?”
“Yeah.” Nick shrugged. He was quiet for a little bit but then said, “Things have been a little weird, though.”
“Yeah.” He cleared his throat. “I was thinking about calling a meeting.”
“You think that would help?”
Brad took a deep breath. “Honestly? I have no fucking idea. But…I hate the idea of waiting for the next time, you know? I’d like a promise from Ethan that we’re done with this phase of our lives.”
“You don’t really think he’d make a promise like that, do you?”
“No. Wishful thinking.”
They walked in silence for a minute and then Nick said, “You know what’s going on with Val and Ethan, right?”
A ringing started in his ears, and he felt dread as a shiver tickled his spine. He knew he wasn’t going to like what Nick had to say, but he needed to know. “What?”
Nick stopped walking and Brad turned to face him. “I’m only telling you this because it’s only fair to you. I’m not sure what all is or was going on between you and Val, but I don’t want—anyway, uh…Ethan proposed to Val.”
It felt like the air had been knocked out of his lungs. When he got his bearings, he sucked in a deep breath of air. Had he heard Nick right? “What?”
“Ethan asked Val to marry him. I, uh…don’t know if it’s totally official yet, but…”
Brad couldn’t hear him after that, and it felt as though the world turned black. He already knew. If Ethan proposed, he knew Val accepted. He felt numb.
Somehow he had the presence of mind to say, “Don’t say anything about me and Val to Ethan. That shit’s over.”
“Yeah. No way. It’s not like she was cheating on him.”
Brad felt like he was going to throw up. He grew quiet, walking back to the apartment with Nick, but his mind was trying to find a way to deal with the worst news it had ever received…

Table of Contents
I can hardly believe it’s been a year since I started writing
Bullet
, the book that pulled me out of obscurity and into the Amazon bestselling author’s club! This past year has changed my life, in some ways, very unexpectedly. I am not complaining, not by a long shot. It has been fun!
When I wrote
Bullet
, it was meant to be a standalone book. Yes, I loved the characters and knew them well, but I hadn’t had any other plans for them. Readers begged for more, and I listened. So, here it is—the fourth book in the Bullet series and one that many readers have waited patiently for—
Fully Automatic
, the same story, only told from Brad’s point of view.
Only it’s
not
the same story. Yes, you’re going to read a lot of the same scenes from a different perspective, but there’s more to the story than that. You’re going to learn so much more about Brad. I know I did. I loved Brad from the moment I began writing his character, but there were some things I didn’t know. For instance, I knew he was driven to succeed—I just didn’t know how much until his back was against the wall.
Let’s talk about that, though—the male perspective. This book was tough on me for multiple reasons. Oh, yeah, I bawled like a baby, because when Brad hurt, so did I. But it was even harder. I’ve written books from dual perspectives before, but that didn’t seem as difficult, because I still had the female perspective as my anchor. Writing from the male POV, I doubted myself from time to time. Sure, I love Brad and I know him, but I wondered—did I really know what I was talking about? Then it got worse. Several times I questioned myself, thinking, “Sure, readers
think
they want this book, but they’re gonna hate it!”
Well, there comes a time when we as writers must let our babies go and send them out into the cold, cruel world. That time has come with Brad’s story. Now that I’ve made it through this arduous journey, I believe it is the story you wanted to read. I don’t think you’re expecting everything I’ve given you, but I believe you’ll love it anyway. Why? Because you love Brad, and I’m pretty damn sure you’re going to love him even more by the time you put the book down.
So I’m giving this book to you now, my labor of love. I hope you love it as much as I have grown to.
Peace, love, and rock on,
Jade, January 2014
Chapter One
MMM…THIS GIRL was so sweet. And she was so different from all the other girls Brad had ever dated. She was innocent and almost shy when it came to matters of a sexual nature. Unfortunately, Brad found that to be quite a turn on.
They shouldn’t have snuck off into the
bathroom, but it had been Leah’s idea. She’d wanted to be alone with him away from the party. Her brown eyes had twinkled as she grabbed his hand and pulled him through the crowd. They walked upstairs where there weren’t as many people. The bathroom was empty, and she pulled him in by the hands. When he asked what they were doing (unable to stop the grin plastered on his face), she locked the door and slammed him against the wall, sticking her tongue in his mouth.
Maybe that meant she was ready. He’d been telling her
no pressure
for the last three months since they’d started dating. Yeah, he’d love to be her first, but her dad was an elder at one of the churches in town and she was a good girl. She wasn’t like a lot of the church girls who were hornier and nastier than regular girls. She loved her father and wanted to obey him, even though her body wanted Brad.
She made it hard, though…figuratively, yes, but literally too. His balls were already aching, because he knew he’d have to wait until he was home and in bed to find some relief. She was being aggressive now, something she’d never done before.
Still…he wasn’t gonna quit kissing her back until she asked him to stop. He couldn’t help the hard on and wasn’t going to say anything about it. He hoped it didn’t make her uncomfortable, but he couldn’t will it down. She felt so good, smelled so sweet up against him, and the tips of her fingernails against the back of his neck were driving him crazy.
She pressed herself up
into him, and that was when Brad was pretty certain he was going to get lucky. He’d never pushed his luck with her, but now he felt bold enough to try, so he kissed down the side of her neck. He’d rarely tasted the flesh there before. She sighed and he felt her hands move down his neck and then his chest and then his blood started pumping harder, taking a dive below.
Jesus.
He knew he was going to have to ask her if she was sure it was what she wanted. Hell, he
should
have been asking if she wanted to find a bed or something, but he was feeling too desperate by this point. He’d just have to make sure he was gentle with her.
He felt her fingers on the front of his jeans, unbuckling the belt buckle. At that point, he could feel his cock throbbing.
He was afraid by this point there’d be no stopping him. But she kissed him hard on the lips and unzipped his jeans.
He couldn’t
simply let her do it, not without making sure. He stopped the kiss and tried to tune out his cock. It was trying to take over the last rational thought in his head. “Leah…” He shook his head when she opened his eyes. “You wanted to wait…”
She grinned at him, flashing her white teeth. “I have a surprise for you.”
The girl was gorgeous, even though he’d kissed all the soft pink lipstick off her lips. She batted her eyelashes and snuck her hand inside his underwear. He couldn’t help the groan in his throat. He tried analyzing what her surprise could be, and he could only figure she got on the pill. And what an asshole he was. There was no way he was going to suggest a bed at this point, not now that her hand was wrapped around him. All he could manage was “You sure you want to do this?”
She smiled again, her tongue between her teeth. She nodded and began to kneel down. Brad hadn’t thought it would be possible, but his cock felt like it was swelling further. It was going to explode.
There she was, though, on her knees, and she pulled his dick out of his pants, wrapping those sweet little lips around him. “Oh, my God.” He’d tried to refrain from what she called
taking the Lord’s name in vain
since he’d started dating her, but he wasn’t thinking anymore. And she didn’t seem to mind. In fact, he felt her giggle, and the vibration from her lips added to the crazy pleasure he was feeling. Fuck, he was so close. He knew it was because he hadn’t had sex in a long time, and he’d planned on it being an insane amount of time before ever going there with her. But there she was, bringing him to ecstasy. He ran his fingers through her blonde mane while her mouth sucked on his cock, each motion bringing him closer to the top. He sucked in a deep breath of air through his teeth and then
bam
. He lost his load, and he didn’t even have the presence of mind to figure out if she was swallowing or not…at first. But then he realized she was and that made the next pump that much more intense. Even the guy banging on the door telling them to hurry couldn’t ruin it.
It was fucking intense, and it felt like Brad’s brains had drained out his dick. He felt lightheaded and leaned his head back against the cool tile on the bathroom wall. His
slack jaw hung as he tried to catch his breath. He felt Leah lick up his shaft and he realized he was too sensitive now. He thought he was going to lose his fucking mind.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
“Seriously. I gotta take a piss, dude.”
“Fuck off. There are two more bathrooms downstairs.”
Leah stood up, a twinkle in her eyes. She kissed Brad’s chin and said, “Yeah. Fuck off.”
Brad opened his eyes and grinned.
He knew his eyes were wide, because he’d never heard his girlfriend swear like that. The worst he’d ever heard her say was
damn
.
The voice outside the door said, “No, fuck you.” The guy banged on the door once more, but Brad was sure he was taking his bladder elsewhere.
Brad took Leah’s face in his hands and kissed her. It was gentle but full of meaning. He wasn’t ready to say it to her, but he was falling hard. He didn’t know that he’d ever felt this full inside because of a girl before, but she made him feel whole, happy, and now she’d made him feel more like a man than he ever had before. He hadn’t asked, wasn’t going to, but she’d decided to move their relationship up a notch that night. He could barely believe it. He hadn’t even planned to invite her to go to the party, because he knew there would be booze there, and she didn’t approve, but Ethan had been talking about it all day long. She asked about it, and Brad couldn’t lie to her. She’d begged to come along, and he couldn’t tell his girl no.
And
now she’d just gone a little further than they’d ever gone before. Brad hadn’t even touched her breasts yet. He’d felt her bare back, played with her bra strap until she’d asked him to stop, and now she’d actually given him a hell of a blow job.
He felt like he was regaining his senses. He pressed his forehead to hers, drinking in her brown eyes. “So what inspired
that
?”
She smiled at him, her eyes squinting with happiness.
“I don’t know. Just…Madi and I were talking the other day, and she’s done that…a
lot
. I guess I just wanted to make you happy. You’ve been so patient with me…”
This girl. God. Wow. “You’re worth it, okay? I will wait as long as you need me to.” And probably longer.
“Did you like it?”
He chuckled. “Did I like it? You kidding? Fucking amazing.” He sucked in a quick breath. “Sorry.” He tried—normally, of course, and not in the heat of passion—to control his cursing around Leah as much as he could. She’d never said anything about it, but she was so innocent, so pure that he felt like being his normal self could corrupt her chasteness. He didn’t want to mar her, physically or psychically, so he tried to watch his mouth as much as he could.
She smiled. “Yay! I can’t wait to tell Madi.”
He couldn’t help the frown. “You’re gonna tell her?”
Her smile faded. “Oh. Yeah. I guess I shouldn’t.”
“Not because you don’t want her to get you in trouble, Leah. It just feels like it’s something that should be between you and me
only, you know?”
She smiled. “Yeah, I see what you mean.” She giggled. “Still, it’s a big first for me.”
Brad laughed and kissed her again. “You are something else.” There was more pounding on the door, and he realized his jeans were still unzipped. He had to find the energy to start moving again, because Leah had to be home by midnight, but he didn’t want to leave just because some asshole couldn’t find another bathroom. “Give us a minute, will ya?”
“Brad?”
Brad recognized the voice. “Yeah.”
“We gotta go, man.”
“What time is it?”
“Time to split before I fucking kill somebody.”
That
didn’t sound good. “Be there in a minute.” He kissed Leah one last time. “Guess we need to go, but…” She had a twinkle in her eyes, and she raised her eyebrows in anticipation of his next words. “I promise you…when you’re ready, I want to make you feel like a woman. I want you to feel like you were born for it.”
She blinked and then smiled. But then she whispered, “I’ve heard it hurts. Bad.”
He pulled her close and whispered in her ear. “I’m not talking about losing your virginity.” He kissed the side of her ear and then pulled his head back, his hands still cupping her head. “I’m just talking about when you let me touch you.” She blushed and giggled. “I want you to feel like I just did. But that will wait until you’re ready.”
Her cheeks remained a soft
pink. “Okay.”
Brad had only had success once
thus far, and it was thanks to his dad’s advice. He didn’t see his father much nowadays, but the man was still the best father Brad could have asked for. His father had told him that all women were different, but the tongue could level the playing field. It took a lot of patience and what his dad called “indirect stimulation,” but it had worked, and Brad was amazed. He could tell the girl’s orgasm was nothing like his had been—hers was long and sustained, whereas his was out of this world but
bam!
and then done. He wanted to try again with Leah, because she was a girl he really cared about. He’d told her no pressure, though, and he’d meant it.
“Come on. Let’s get out of here.” He tucked himself back in his pants and zipped up. He took Leah’s hand and walked toward the bathroom door. When he opened it, he halfway expected someone to be there waiting to come inside. But the coast was clear, and they walked down the hallway toward the stairs and descended them.
The closer they got to the ground floor, the more bodies cluttered the stairs. Some of the people were talking, while others were embraced and in various stages of making out. Apparently, Brad wasn’t the only one to get lucky that night, but he was one of the first. It was loud downstairs, music blaring from the speakers of the stereo in the living room, and Brad figured the only thing saving the kid hosting from having the cops show up was the fact that his parents’ house was in the boonies. He had no idea where the kids’ parents were, but he wasn’t going to question it.
One step before they got to the floor, Brad shouted at Leah, “If you see Ethan anywhere, let me know.” When his friend had knocked on the bathroom door earlier, he’d sounded ready to snap. Brad knew what that meant—it meant he had to get his friend out of there and pronto. He was probably fighting with his girlfriend again. Those two were volatile, like oil and water, and Brad would breathe a sigh of relief when Ethan grew tired of the stupid girl. He had no idea what Ethan saw in her. The girl was a slut and had hit on him once or twice—
after
she and Ethan had started dating. Brad had turned her down, but it had eaten at him, and he’d considered telling his friend more than once. Instead, he’d hinted around that maybe his friend’s girlfriend wasn’t so nice. Ethan seemed to know but didn’t care.
Brad and Leah walked through the noisy, crowded, smoky living room, slowly making their way through the crowd that halfway parted as they moved between bodies. He held her hand tighter as the crowd pressed in. He couldn’t see Ethan anywhere and decided to make his way toward the living room. But then Leah squeezed his hand and he heard her voice. He turned to look at her and she said, pointing with her other hand, “He’s over there.”
Brad looked at her finger and followed the invisible line extending from it away toward the front door. But Ethan wasn’t quite that far. He was standing beside the closet door next to the door leading outside. He was opening the door to the closet and he looked beyond pissed. Brad took that as a signal. He’d seen his friend like that enough to know he was ready to beat the shit out of someone—and that meant he was risking another night in jail.
He had no idea how much his friend had had to drink, nor if he’d taken anything else to feed his buzz, but he
did
know he’d promised Ethan’s mom that he’d try to keep him out of trouble. He pulled Leah through the crowd, this time not waiting for people to part. Instead, he shoved his way through. He knew that meant people would be spilling beer on themselves or the floor when the motion from his jostling made their arms sway, and their tipsiness kept them from being able to balance their cups enough to keep the liquid inside.
Ethan’s expression was one of both anger and hurt
, and he was getting ready to reach inside the closet when Brad got there. Leah was behind him and wasn’t able to see inside, but Brad was close enough that he could. Inside the closet, the coats were pushed to one side and Ethan’s girlfriend Heidi stood beside them, a guy leaning back against the wall, Heidi’s hands on his chest. The guy, who looked to be a year or two older than Ethan and Brad, had a cocky grin on his face, but he was still fully clothed. Heidi’s skirt was hiked halfway up her thighs, but she too was dressed. She was almost pouting at Ethan. “What the fuck are you doing, Heidi?”
