Fury (New Adult Romance) - #1.5 Fierce Series (32 page)

“How? Wes just threatened me, again! Now I have no choice but to
bring Leafy to this party.”

“I know, but I can still talk to another distributor.”

I shake my head. “Like talking’s going to do any good.”

“I don’t know what else to do. I promised you I’d help you, but I
can’t force them to show us who the courier or the leader is.”

“We can force them,” I say, looking out the window to see if
anyone’s listening. “I’ll make them tell us.”

Jaret’s eyes widen. “You wanna fight them?”

“If I have to,” I snap.

“You know they’ll find out.”

“I don’t care! I need to know who it is, and I won’t stop until I
know.”

“All right, all right.”

“You’ll help me, right?” I say, looking him in the eye.

He lets out a deep breath. “I’ll do my best. I know another
distributor who’s a little reluctant, but much easier to manipulate. I think
he’s our best bet.”

“Okay. Then we’ll make it our mission to have him tell us who the
courier or the leader is. Either is good. But we’ll take the answer with force
if we have to.”

Jaret glances at me from the corner of his eye, a steady breath
flowing through his mouth. I hope he’s with me. I hope he’ll stick with me
through all this. If he fails me now … and the gang realizes what we’re up to …
I’m dead.

We spent the rest of the day selling drugs to people, trying to get
rid of the stash we took with us from the club. I’m glad when more than half of
it is gone by the time I need to get back to the dorm to pick up Leafy. I find
her in the hallway, staring at Scarlet’s door.

She looks upset, and I’m not sure if it’s still from this morning or
if something else happened. I choose not to ask about it, because I want her to
be relaxed when she’s around me. I want to be the one who makes her smile.

“Hey, you ready to go?” I ask while putting my arm around her,
kissing her on the temple.

“I just need to change into something else first,” she says.

I caress her back, the smooth skin awakening my virility. “Okay, I
can wait. It’s early anyway.”

She walks into her room and rummages through her clothes like a
crazy lady, throwing stuff around the room, making a mess of things. I wonder
where she keeps that dress she had on last night. I’d love to see her wear that
thing again. I want to take it slow, but there’s nothing wrong with having a
little eye candy.

“Why don’t you just put on that same dress you wore last night? It
looked fucking amazing.”

She turns around, and I can clearly see the flush on her face. “No!
I’m not wearing the same thing twice in a row without washing it first.”

I grin and look at her glowing skin, reminding me of how she looked
when she was moaning underneath me. “Too bad. I was looking forward to seeing
you stretch that thing to its limit as you dance, and I’m there to watch.”

She chuckles. “In your dreams.” She grabs a white top and a pair of
jeans. It’s not exactly a tiny black dress, but it’ll have to do, I guess.
“Could you close the door?” she asks.

“Sure.” I slam it shut with my foot, because I’m not taking my eyes
off her.

When she pulls off her shirt, I bite my lip, wanting more of this
nice strip act. I love watching girls take off their clothes. It’s a nice
distraction.

“Hey, I’m not giving a peep show!”

Too bad; she covers her perfect tits again. “I’ve already seen you.
Nothing to be secretive about. Of course, I do love looking at you being
naked,” I say, and I mean it. She’s gorgeous.

“You’re embarrassing me,” she says, pursing her lips.

“I told you I love to see you blush.” I like how she looks when I
affect her so much. It’s powerful. Makes me feel alive.

“Turn around,” she says with a frown.

I sigh and roll my eyes a little. “Fine. If I have to.” I casually
close my eyes and turn around.

I wait until I hear her voice again. “You can open your eyes now.”

Her figure shows nicely through the thin pants she’s wearing, and
she’s got a fucking hot white top on, which is so tight I can almost see her
perky nipples. Damn. I can’t resist putting my arms around her and pressing my
cock against her ass. “You look sexy,” I grunt. If she keeps wearing things
like this it’s going to be hard keeping my hands off her.

“Thanks,” she says, her voice changing in tone as I start kissing
her bare neck and shoulder. Her breathing is ragged as I drag my lips up and
down her neck, my cock throbbing in my pants. “I can barely wait to rip them
off,” I whisper.

She moans, and it makes me hyper aware of her every sound and
movement.

“Let’s not go to the party. Let’s just stay here tonight,” she says.

All my nerves are on fire, my blood pumping to my cock as she says
those words. It’s so fucking tempting to just go for it.

“I want to make love,” she says.

I chuckle. I wish I could take her up on that offer. I can’t wait to
claim her as my own. Unfortunately, I have a vendetta.

“As much as I’d like to take you up on that offer, there’s something
I need to do at that party.”

She groans, annoyed. I know she can’t wait, but she doesn’t even
know what she’s in for yet. I won’t let her wait long, though.

“Don’t worry,” I murmur. “We’ll get there eventually, and when we do
… I’m going to make love to you so hard, you’ll beg for mercy.”

I kiss her on the cheek and release her from my grasp before it
becomes too hard to stick to the plan. “Let’s go,” I say, and I grab her hand
and pull her out the door.

Digging Deeper

My heart is pounding in my chest as we walk up the steps toward the
house. The party has long started, but I feel terrified going in there. I’m
afraid Leafy might get hurt. I don’t want to bring her in here, but at the same
time I know they’d do something to her if I didn’t. I have no choice if I want
to keep her safe. The only way to make sure she’s safe and sound and comes back
home with me is by making sure she won’t do anything reckless.

“One second,” I say as Jaret reaches the door.

Mind if I go on ahead?” Jaret says.

“No problem. You go watch them carefully,” I tell him, and he nods.
He knows what to do.

I turn my attention back to her. “Pay attention. You wanted to come,
but I want you to promise me something.”

“Okay,” she says, frowning. “What?”

“Do
not
under any circumstance talk with the people I’m
involved with. Once I leave your side, don’t come after me. No matter what.”

I hope that she’ll listen.

“Are you kidding me?”

Of course not … Stubborn little thing. She doesn’t stand a chance
against them, but doesn’t seem to realize how dangerous they are. “I’m not. I
don’t want you to get involved in this.”

She rolls her eyes, but I lean forward, trying to get her to focus
on me, because this is important. I’m not doing this to annoy her. “I’ll spend
as much time with you as I can, but once Jaret calls me, I have to leave.
Please promise me you’ll just enjoy the party.”

She averts her eyes, pouting.

“Please?” I ask, placing my hand on her arm. “Don’t make me worry
about you.” I’m already worried. I just don’t want her to know it.

“Fine, whatever,” she says. “Can we go in now?”

Good. That’s one thing, but I forgot something else. “Oh, and one
more thing,” I say. “Don’t take anything from anyone. Ever.” I don’t want her
to get drugged up, and I sure as hell think they’re capable of doing just that.

“Yeah, yeah, I get it. No drugs. No drinks from someone else.”

God, I can’t wait for this night to be over.

“Right,” I say with a wink. “You’re starting to get it.”

“I’m not a little girl.”

No, you’re just a little feisty sometimes, but that’s okay. I like
feisty. “No. You’re my Leafy, and I want to see you safe.”

Her face lights up when I say that, and it makes me smile. We go
inside and I take a huge breath before stepping into the crowd. Music is
blaring through the speakers, some song by Kanye West called ‘Black Skinhead.’

Leafy makes a face and jams her fingers in her ears. “Jesus.”

I laugh. “Probably
his
idea of partying.” I’d imagine the
leader to be the type to like this kind of music.

The next song is Muse’s ‘Supermassive Black Hole,’ and it’s a much
better pick. When I spot Wes standing near one of the speakers with a glass in
his hand, I go over to greet him. He needs to know I showed up with my girl so
we won’t be lynched by the gang. I’m still undercover and this whole thing
isn’t over before the leader is in jail, my brother is out, and Wes is either
knocked out or dead.

“Hey, Hunter!” he says, fist bumping me. “Glad you could join us.”

“Of course. There ain’t no party without the Hunter,” I say,
winking.

He laughs. “I see you brought your girlfriend.” He eyes her for a
second, and it makes me want to gouge them out. “Yeah, she couldn’t pass up on
it.”

“She looks a little lost,” he says, and he winks at me. “Take her
for a dance.”

I squint. “Well, I got my duties here too. Still need to sell some
more before I’m through my stash for today.”

Wes sips from his drink. “Nah, you did great. Go ahead. You earned a
little free time,” he says. I’m not sure if I should take him seriously or not.
Sometimes he’s so elusive, I can’t figure him out.

“You can get back to selling later. Just enjoy the party for a
while.” He slaps me on the back, turns around and walks away.

Okay. I guess he’s in a good mood.

I get back to my Leafy and grab her hand, pulling it up so I can
give it a peck. “Wanna dance?”

“B-but what about―”

“It can wait,” I say, and I kiss her hand, my tongue dipping out to
mark her as mine. I pull her back across the dance floor, and she stumbles on
her feet. She’s really not used to any of this, but it makes this much more
fun. I like that I can experience all the ‘firsts’ with her. To me, that’s a
treasure.

She’s still afraid, so I take control over our dance, placing her
hand on my shoulder. I guide her across the dance floor, and when we reach the
middle, I stop and pull her close to me. I admit, I’m not a proper dancer. When
I dance, I practically fuck with clothes on.

I twirl her in my arms and start moving my body. I grind my hips
against hers, letting my hands roam freely. My fingers splay on her waist,
sliding up and down. I’m almost tempted to touch her tits, but that’s a private
matter. I’m not letting anyone else see what we do in the bedroom. She’s mine
and only I get to enjoy her that way.

My lips are close to her ear, her skin too tantalizing not to kiss.
I plant my lips on her neck, biting down softly. She moans softly, not loud
enough for the crowd to hear, but loud enough to make my cock stir. I know she
can feel it.

She’s keeping up with me quite well, moving with me to the rhythm.
God, I love to dance with her.

But then I spot her friend dancing with another girl somewhere in
the middle of the room. I somehow recall her name from a conversation I overheard
between them. I think her name’s Evie, although I’m surprised I even remember
it. I wonder what she’s doing here.

“Hey,” I say. “Isn’t that your friend? Evie?”

Leafy turns her head and gasps.

“What’s she doing here?” I ask. This is really not a good place to
be; she doesn’t know the risks.

“I invited her to come. I wanted her to have a good time. You know,
relax a little. She really needed it.”

“Are you sure? She looks upset,” I say, as the girl is desperately
avoiding making eye-contact with Leafy.

“That’s because we’re in a bit of a rough spot at the moment.”

I kiss her on the temple, swaying her back and forth to the music.
“How come?”

“I found out she’s in love with me.”

Oh … now I see. “And you were already pining for someone else.”

She blushes, licking her lips. “Yeah, well, it’s difficult.”

No wonder she was so bitchy toward me. Well, no hard feelings, but
I’m glad I won Leafy for myself. She’s all mine now, and I don’t share. I grin.
“Too bad for her I got you first. Now you’re mine.”

I kiss her on the cheek and let my tongue dip out. I can’t help
wanting to lick every inch of her skin. I’ve been dying to for so long, and now
that I finally can, I feel like I have to use every opportunity I get to ravish
her.

But my attention is suddenly drawn to a scream.
