Game On! (Seaside Heat) (10 page)

The day hadn’t started out well with a long line to exit the ship, and then her sea legs kept her swaying while waiting at the airport. She looked forward to seeing Heath, but she doubted he’d be back from last night’s out-of-town game.

At least their flight landed on time. At baggage claim, her parents and brothers found their luggage first. “I’ll meet you at the car.” She waved them on.

Her black roller case with the large hot pink ID tag rounded on the carousel after a minute. She reached for the bag.

A huge hand claimed it. She shot a scathing glare at the hulking giant next to her.

A familiar pair of electric blue eyes crinkled at the corners.

Her pulse shot to double time at Heath’s sexy wink.

Chapter 11

Jordan’s teacher side marked Heath a pre-planner for meeting her here. Her feminine side swooned at the romantic innuendo. “That’s an A plus for you today.”

“And for you, too. On time. Impressive.” He hugged her.

Her feet left the floor.

He’d missed her. She latched an arm around his neck and kissed him. “How’d you know?

He let her down but kept his arm around her waist. “Connections, remember. Your best friend is seeing my buddy.”

If pheromones zapped any more of her brain cells, she’d wind up on social media under a dumb blonde joke. And she wasn’t even blond. “Long flight, sorry.”

“Now that you’ve been well-fed and lounged on beaches with palm trees and endless food and drink, what can I
offer
you for the rest of the weekend?”

“A way to burn calories?” Her hormones answered without consulting her intellect.

His mouth gaped then snapped shut. “Ten days of a soft lifestyle, huh? Well, darlin’, I’m here to
whip
you back into shape.”

Hot desire swept through her. She’d never been spanked, but his heated stare made her wonder how his discipline might feel. She pinned him with a seductive smile. “Where would you like to start?”

“How about The Outer Banks?” He stacked her smaller bag on top of the rolling case and kept his other hand at the small of her back.

She tucked her arm inside his and glided alongside. “You have a reservation? It’s peak season.”

The arrogant shift of his head chastised her. “What do you think? My family used to vacation at Hilton Head.”

“How’d you get back so soon after last night’s game?”

“Snagged a red eye out of Nevada.”

Wow, he’d probably spent a small fortune to nab a last-minute flight. Did he miss their game as much as she? “I need to tell my parents, they’re waiting for me at the car.”

“Sure. I’d like to see them.”

“Show them you’re interested enough in their daughter to meet her at the airport?”

He grinned. “Impression is everything.”

He’d certainly impressed her. “How was the game?”

“Knocked some heads, but they had some killer plays.” He navigated them through the terminal and out to the parking lot.

“You’ll get ’em next time.” She squeezed his bicep, relishing the solid feel of him. He seemed taller and more masculine. His blue gaze hotter.

“I love winning, but knowing you’d be coming back was a better prize.” He stopped at his Jeep and drew her near.

Under his sexy scrutiny, she went soft. “I’ve never been anyone’s prize.”

He touched his lips to hers in a mellow kiss. His mouth promised what she imagined his body would provide later. She latched on and dissolved against him.

The last-minute flight proved worth the money. With her already packed from the cruise, they could leave now.

“You need to go home for anything?” He opened the Jeep.

“No, but I need a minute to tell mom and dad.”

He loaded her bags and drove her over to her dad’s vehicle on the other side of the lot. Her brothers had already left. Heath asked her parents if they’d mind if she gave him a tour of the Outer Banks.

“I’m sure she’d love to,” her mother said. “I think she’d rather have gone there than on a cruise.”

Jordan cut a glance to Heath.

“Great.” He shook hands with Paul, said goodbye to her mother and helped Jordan in the Jeep.

“Thanks, after spending ten days with them, it’ll be nice to get away.” She let out a deep breath.

Heath grabbed her hand. “Too much togetherness?”

“Amen.”

“And I’m gonna have you saying ‘Oh God’ before long, darlin’.” He winked.

After arriving at the Outer Banks, they ate a late lunch at Hurricane Moe’s in Kitty Hawk. A colorful ceiling mural of the beach expanded to heaven with stars and planets made the place appear larger. Heath made up for his lack of last night’s dinner on steamed shrimp and all-you-can-eat tacos.

“You like?” Jordan had barely touched her taco, but had put a hurting on her jumbo margarita.

“I see why your brothers love this place.”

“Too bad you missed them today. Hope you can meet them sometime.” She played with her straw.

“How would that go down? Nice to meet you, guys. I’m your sister’s fuck buddy.” Her parents might be fooled, but her brothers would start an inquisition. He shot-gunned the rest of his beer.

“Okay, maybe not.” She laughed. “The rest of this weekend is all about fun.”

“Count on it.” He kissed her cheek.

They crossed the bridge on the Causeway to Manteo by late afternoon. Pirates Cove Marina he should be on the right.

Jordan pointed to the silvery grasses lining the banks of the sound. “The Spartina is beautiful.”

“Marsh grass?” He laughed.

“Minored in Biology.”

“Majored in Jock.” He took her hand.

“With a second in psychology.” She smiled.

“You think?”

“You read me pretty well early on. Bet you know how to psych out the opposing team.”

“I’ve learned a few tricks along the way.” He turned into marina amid dozens of docked Hatteras-style fishing boats. Their tall outriggers gleamed in the sunset.

“We’re staying here?” Her eyes rounded.

“One of the players has a timeshare. It’s on the fourth floor. He said it has a spectacular view of the sound.” He doubted it would compare to her recent sights, but it was all he could manage on short notice.

“Up for a deep-sea fishing trip?” She unbuckled her seatbelt.

He might go for a cruise one day, but in nothing smaller. He stepped from the Jeep and opened the rear gate. “After days at sea, wouldn’t you like to stay on land for a while?”

“I still have my sea legs.” She winked, grabbing her carry-on. “But I sense you’re not game.”

He unloaded their bags from the back, setting his duffle on top of her rolling case. “When I was ten, my Dad took me on a fishing charter out of Myrtle Beach. The boat broke down twenty miles out and a thunderstorm blew up out of nowhere. After six hours on the ocean, I decided whatever job I went for, it would be on land.”

Jordan latched onto his elbow. “And you won’t get me to jump out of a plane.”

Heath laughed. “That makes two of us.” He led her to a large block of multi-story condos.

An elevator took them to the fourth floor. Heath opened the door to a living area. Decorated in dark leather furniture and hardwood flooring, the room boasted a nautical theme right down to a large ship’s wheel hanging over a gas fireplace.

“Manly.” Jordan walked through the room smoothing her fingers over the leather furniture. “I like it.” She disappeared into one of the bedrooms.

Heath found the decor relaxing. He loved the seclusion and imagined all the fun and naughty activities they could enjoy. The bar looked sturdy, as did a heavy oak coffee table that resembled a galley door. When she returned to the living room, he squinted. “Welcome to my lair.”

Her nipples pebbled under her thin t-shirt. He hoped her thoughts ran as deep in the gutter as his. Their last game had been rushed.

Here, they’d be entirely alone. No parents. No Dugan or GiGi. Exactly how he wanted her. To himself.

She sashayed toward him and swept her arms around his neck. “You look like a wolf from a fairytale.”

He gave her his best beastly tone. “Been starving for nearly two weeks, darlin’, and you look sweet enough to eat.”

He grazed her pouty lips with his.

She slipped her tongue inside his mouth in a feathering dance.

His body tightened. He wanted her and hoped she had missed him as much as he had her.

She curled her fingers in his hair.

Sweeping down her back, he cupped her ass. Brought her tight against him, so she felt his desire.

She broke their kiss with a small gasp. “Wow.”

Her cheeks pinked. “How about a drink first?”

“Okay. Chicken.” He stepped behind the bar and placed two glasses on the dark granite counter.

“I’m not stalling—I just want to take things slow like you said.”

He handed her a shot. “Call the play.”

“How about catching the sunset and then some sexercise?” She glanced over her shoulder with a glint. “You need to work off that late lunch.”

Heat lit his groin even before he shot-gunned his whiskey. “I retract my chicken remark.”

Jordan played with a lock of her coppery hair. “You did say you were going to
whip
me into shape.”

Words failed him. He cleared his throat and grabbed the bottle. After pouring another shot, he studied her for a moment. Lord help him. “Something new for the playbook, then?”

She lowered her lashes. “If my tight end is interested?”

Anything you want, darlin’
threatened to spill from his mouth, but he checked his response. “Are you sure?”

Jordan held out her hand, luring him from the bar toward the balcony. “After sunset, let’s let loose your naughty boy.”

Such a tease, this PE teacher. She might be surprised at his expertise in her new fun. The idea of reddening her rear for her pleasure had his balls in a vise. He followed her outside, needing the distraction.

The whiskey had Jordan talking fast and loose. Was she really up to be spanked?

Heath seemed lost gazing into the sunset that painted the sky in a hazy shade of orange and purple. Maybe he wasn’t as tough as she imagined. No, he was the type of man to walk through hell for the woman he loved. A caring heart appeared to be his only weakness.

Hers felt hardened and twisted. But she could pretend with him. The inviting hammock on the deck reminded her how long she’d been up. She sank onto the canvas.

Heath tucked one of the pillows under her head and slid on beside her.

Tinged in a warm golden light, the sound gave way to a narrow strip of land meeting the deep blue of the Atlantic. “Wow, your friend was right about the view.”

“Sunrise is probably as good,” he whispered against her hair.

“You’re the early bird. You’ll need to wake me.” She wiggled her butt against his crotch.

He chuckled. “Darlin’, if you keep doing that, I’ll guarantee you’ll see sunrise.”

She relaxed against him. Darkness claimed the sky and then her. A breeze caressed her cheeks, and she stirred in his arms, unsure of how long she’d dozed. Her stomach growled.

Heath asked huskily, “Hungry?”

She faced him. His aftershave mingled with his natural scent and focused her on another hunger. “For you.”

He rolled, drew her to her feet with him and ushered her inside. When he reached the heavy oak coffee table, he stopped. “Sit please.”

On shaky knees, Jordan complied. What had he planned?

Heath dropped to his knees. “Dessert before dinner.”

Before she could resist, she lay sans shorts and panties. The bar light illuminated his silhouette between her thighs.

He licked a hot streak along her slit.

Vision became a secondary sense.

Skilled at the game, he delved deeper and swirled around her clit.

A delicious ache resonated in her core. She’d missed him and his warm, gentle touch.

He stroked directly over her center of pleasure. Taking his time, he varied pressure and intensity, knowing how to keep her teetering her at the edge of orgasm. This time she wanted him inside her when she came. She propped onto her elbows. “Heath.”

“Baby?”

“I want you. Now.”

He smiled and grabbed the bottom of his shirt.

She finished wrestling him free of his polo and unzipped his shorts. His heavy length bobbed in greeting. Eager for a taste, she leaned forward and swirled her tongue over his sensitive head. He tasted earthy and male.

He laid a hand on her shoulder.

She glanced up.

His eyes darkened as did his tone. “Turn around.”

Her clit throbbed. She knelt and faced the coffee table.

A warm hand slid under her shirt to the center of her back, unhooked her bra and drew both over her head. He pressed her against the cool table.

Jordan’s nipples hardened and her thighs trembled. The ripping of a condom package made her shiver.

The hair of his thighs tickled the back of hers as he nested his cock at her entrance.

She’d never been taken from behind, and glanced back.

He rubbed a hand over her flank. “You trust me?”

She nodded.

He licked his lips.

Excited and eager, she pushed back. A sharp sting lit her ass cheek. “Ouch.”

“I’m calling this play, darlin’.” He soothed the fire on her flesh.

He’d brought her ultimate pleasure thus far, and she believed he’d take her higher than she’d ever imagined. Lowering her head to the table, she submitted to him and her desire. “Yes sir.”

He molded his hands to her rear, smoothed between her thighs and found her wet. “You’re gorgeous, baby. Willing and ready.”

She held her breath, already at a fevered pitch. He slammed into her pussy. She moaned as she took all of him. Heath branded her other buttock. Heat mixed with her throbbing need. He inched back.

The wave of gentle friction made her widen her knees, accepting his solid but sensual rhythm. The compromising position heightened her senses.

He fucked her leaving no question who remained in charge.

Each smack to her ass sent a searing current to her clit.

Molding against her back he embraced her. “Jordan?”
