I shouldn’t have to be
cleaning up your calamities like this,” he said in between his
heavy panting. He swirled his suit jack back on and patted wiping
his hand with his silk pocket square. “Now get back to work.” He
had an unforgiving look. It made my thighs heat up even
more.

Another second or two more and I would have
squirted all over him.

I sat at my desk and stared at the black
computer monitor for the rest of the afternoon. The dank feeling of
reality set in. I had just been violated by my boss. But why did I
like it? How could I have let something so wrong happen? I
contemplated not showing up tomorrow and finding another job, but I
couldn’t risk being without a paycheck for much longer. Good thing
this day was almost over.

I jumped out of my seat when Mr. Conrad’s
hand landed on my shoulder blade. I nearly knocked over my stale,
cold coffee. I landed back on my sore backside and looked away from
him to hide my grimace. I knew dozens of whelps tattooed my
backside from his spanking.

Mr. Conrad!” I said,
zig-zagging the computer mouse and shuffling papers on my desk to
make myself appear busy. “I…I’m just finishing up a few
things.”

Ms. Martin…what happened
earlier…can’t happen…
mustn’t
happen again.” He let out a deep sigh – the look
of remorse engulfed his face. “It’s just…I couldn’t control myself
around you. You brought this out of me. Tomorrow will be different.
It can’t happen again.”

He sounded different. His
words were stammered and his thoughts sounded jumbled.
I
did this to
him?

Don’t apologize, Mr.
Conrad. I deserved every bit of it. I learned my lesson.” I looked
up at him with my gray eyes and bit my lip. “I promise not to
burden you again.”

He cleared his throat and checked his watch.
He stood up straight, doing his best to regain his composure. “Ms.
Martin your day isn’t over yet. Sitting in an office all day is not
going to cut it. I’m having dinner with a colleague in a half an
hour, I’m sure you’re aware of it. Will you be joining me?”

Me? Say no to him? After what happened
earlier, I would say yes to anything he asked. Anything. Even if he
took me out on the fifty-yard line in front of a packed stadium and
pounded me silly I would say yes.

As we rode to the restaurant in his
Maserati, he told me about the expansive wine list and how it
rivaled some of Europe’s finest restaurants and said nothing of
what happened in his office. The tension was palatable. Did the
events in his office earlier even register on his mind anymore? I
started to wonder if his behavior had been the real reason for his
long list of former assistants. I guess they couldn’t cut it. I
wanted to be the one who stuck it out. I was all in.

When we pulled up to the entrance of the
restaurant whose name I couldn’t pronounce, the valet, the host and
the server all lit up with delight when Mr. Conrad greeted them.
These places stunk of pretentiousness to me, but they treated him
like he owned the restaurant. I guess when you have boatloads of
money to spend, you get the special treatment.

I sat next to Mr. Conrad as he worked his
magic over the next thirty minutes with an old, astute gentleman.
They discussed forecasts, risks and exit strategies – all words and
phrases I knew nothing about. But what I did come to understand was
Mr. Conrad’s masterful business prowess.

Little personal information was known about
him in the press. He was young – in his mid twenties like me. He
made a fortune creating computer software and became a billionaire
from his international real estate ventures. The description of
notorious playboy had also followed him. Him being demanding,
frightening and handsome – I could definitely confirm it.

After the other gentleman left, my
nervousness reappeared as I moved and sat across the table from Mr.
Conrad. He and I – alone again. Again he became silent.

Was he even going to remotely mention what
happened between us earlier today? Never in my wildest dreams could
I envision something like that taking place. That only happens to
high class escorts or women who write commentS on blogs about
trysts they had once upon a time. But it happened to me. And no
word of it? What gives? He played me like a fiddle. Another cute
brunette in his long line of work conquests. Damn, Danica. I broke
my rule. And on the first day. I could have at least dragged it out
for a few more days then gave up my goodies. I guess it was fun
while it lasted despite aching for more. At least I’ll have a
steady paycheck. And I had an unbelievably scintillating story to
tell the other woman at the senior citizen’s home when I get
older.

I had a huge lunch. I’m
not that hungry,” he said breaking the silence. I hadn’t eaten a
thing at all today. I was so nervous this morning I skipped
breakfast. I planned on grabbing a breakfast burrito on the way to
work, but I didn’t plan on a deer making me late on my first day of
work. “How about you and I have a look at a few small dishes? Maybe
dessert first, then the wine list?”

I looked off in the sea of other tables in
the room.

You’re not on the clock
anymore, Ms. Martin. It’s okay to have a drink or two around
me.”

I nodded.

You know you’re also free
to talk around me. Nouns, verbs, whatever you desire.” I cracked a
faint smile. “Is that a smile I see, Ms. Button?”

Wow, from petrifying to charming in a matter
of seconds. “Maybe.” I finally could release my gut I tensed up
whenever he came around me.

You know, you can’t
believe everything you hear, Ms. Martin. Most of it is not true.”
He pulled the menu closer to his face. I couldn’t see his
eyes.

Most of it?”

Yes. Most of it.” There
goes the devilish smirk of his again. “Let’s start with the blood
cake.”

Let’s.”

***

Over the next hour we were served an array
of fine delectable treats, the likes of yours truly had never
tasted. I scoffed at the possibility of eating something called
blood cake, but to my delight it tasted delicious. Mr. Conrad was
encyclopedic about food from other cultures. The thought of him
using his tongue and lips for things other than food had my
imagination churning.

He laughed to himself.

What’s so funny?” I asked.
All the mind games he played with me throughout today had me at
wit’s end.

You have a bit of
chocolate on your top lip. Let me get that for you.” He grabbed the
extra napkin on the table and wiped the cream from my mouth.
“There, that’s better.” Maybe I had the wrong idea about Mr.
Conrad.

I licked the smidgen of chocolate mousse
from my lip, slowly tracing my wet tongue over it. “Did I get it
all, Mr. Conrad?” I loved being naughty.

He cleared his throat and straightened his
necktie. “Let’s look at the wine list.” He stroked his chin, not
lifting his eyes from mine. We decided to sample an array of French
wines. Him being the expert on fine cuisines - I stepped up to the
plate showed my prowess when I ordered in French. His eyes perked
up.

Your French is pretty
fluid. Where did you learn it?”

My grandmother was born in
Lyon. I’m not fluent, but I do okay.”

Just okay? It was
absolutely impressive. Most people just point to the entrée they
want to order.”

Well, thank you for the
compliment.” I looked down to side and cracked a tiny
smile.

You’re welcome. I’m almost
starting to not regret that you’re my executive assistant.” There’s
the look again; almost like he’s seeing through me. It sent a chill
up my spine. “That’s a joke,” he said. He cracked a sly
smirk.

Wow, so you’re a comedian,
too?” I could feel a bead of sweat trickle down my back.

After a few glasses of wine, I tried my best
to not slur my speech. He made a nod to the server and had her
bring out two glasses of Absinthe. I had heard of it before but
never tasted it. It tasted delicious, but it made me feel weird. A
good weird, but weird nonetheless.

We discussed the team and his plans for
remedying the losing culture in the organization. He asked about my
time cheerleading for the Hawks and I told him how over time I
became a mentor and a mother figure to the younger girls keeping
them out of harm’s way. Being a cheerleader for the Hawks made it
easy to get lost in the bright lights of the big city. I had
learned the hard way early on and I didn’t want to see a girl -
starry eyed, fresh off the bus from a farm in Idaho - get smashed
head on by the fast life of the game.

Interesting. I see why you
took this job. It was wearing on you wasn’t it?”

Yes, but it was time to
strike out in a new direction anyway.”

That’s pretty admirable,
to go beyond your job description and help the other girls. But
there has to come a time in a woman’s life where she has to let go
of the reigns and let someone else take control.” His voice
deepened when the word control rolled off his tongue. Are we still
talking about work?

I hung up my pom-poms
because it was time to stop playing mother hen to the younger girls
on the cheerleading team and step into the real world.” I had to
quickly steer the conversation back to work; thinking of his tongue
again made my pussy steam. I crossed my drenched legs several times
in my seat in between sips of my drink.

But I need people like you
in this organization.”

Thank you, Mr.
Conrad.”

Please, call me Harper.
It’s okay, we’re not in the office now. Just don’t get in the habit
of it and slip up when we’re at the team facility.” We both shared
a laugh. “You’ve been with this organization for nine years. I know
being an executive assistant isn’t your end game is it? What are
your goals? What is it you’re aspiring to?”

I cleared my throat.

I never really thought
about it. I just want to do the best job I can do. Where it will
lead me I’m not sure.”

Well, Danica if you stick
with me, you’ll shoot straight to the top in no time.” His voice
rocked my core. I’d love for him to
stick
me instead. “I know you’ve
heard a lot about me Danica. Some true. Mostly false.”

Well…” My gut tensed up
again.

Don’t worry, the job’s all
yours. You belong to
me
now. I’m not firing you. I know you had to be
thinking it. And besides, I’m a big boy. I can handle the
truth.”

How could he put me on the
spot like this? What employee – a new employee at that – wants to
tell their boss about what rumors and other nasty tidbits they’ve
heard? Definitely not moi. I had no choice. He sat in front of me
with his
look
and
his hands clasped together on the table. All we needed were
cigarettes and a bright light dangling over our heads for this to
be an interrogation. And what did he mean by saying I was
his?

Well they say you’re
overbearing beyond measure.”

Everybody says that about
their boss, Danica.” He gently slapped my hand. “C’mon, give me the
nitty gritty. I want the juicy stuff!”

Here goes nothing.
It’s only your future, right Danica?

People say you run through
assistants like water. Monday they’re hired, Friday they’re
fired.”

That’s not true. They
usually quit.”

Why do they
quit?”

It’s because of my rakish
good looks. Don’t you agree?”

Yes…uh, I mean no. I don’t
know!” I wanted to slide my entire body under the table. His hearty
laughter consumed the restaurant.

You’re funny, Button. I
can see you having a lot of responsibility with the Hawks. You did
great work with the Hawkettes. You girls had it
together
on that sideline. But it’s a
shame you wasted nine years down there.” He took a long swig of his
Absinthe, finishing the glass.

What do you mean?” Wasted?
How dare he? I was damn good at what I did. I wasn’t sure if the
Absinthe made me lash out, but my fear of him subsided – a bit. I
slammed down the fork I wringed in my palm. “I didn’t waste
anything. I took my job seriously and I helped a lot of girls over
the years. I’m proud of the work I did and I don’t care who thinks
otherwise.”

I think you misunderstood
my comment. As I said, it was pretty admirable, but I meant that if
you had a bigger platform other than cheerleading, you could have
made an ever bigger impact. I’ve only known you for a short time,
but you’re a beautiful, bright, charming and ambitious woman,
Danica. Those girls were lucky to have you in their lives, but the
world needs you to have your light shine upon it.”

I sat speechless. Though my eyes were
watering, I choked the tears back; tired of people doubting me and
downplaying my achievements. I just couldn’t let this man break me.
He placed a comforting hand on top of mine. I still needed to find
out the truth.

But you still didn’t
answer my question. Why did your assistants quit?
