Hunted (Dauntless MC Book 1) (16 page)

Clive rubbed his belly as he eyed the prostitute he brought home last night. She was up and getting dressed but he wasn’t ready to let her go yet. She was pretty and he wanted to spend more time with her. Plus, that piercing in her tongue had felt so good when she licked under the head of his cock.

“I paid you for all night, pretty girl.”

“And I stayed all night, big boy.”

Clive grinned, thinking she was calling him a term of endearment. Maybe they could have more to their relationship than just him paying her to fuck him.

“I’ve got more money,” Clive whined.

That got her attention. She down sat down on the bed next to him and ran her hand over his stubby, little cock until it got hard. “Well, I can suck this big, stiff cock of yours for a hundred more dollars.”

I’m such a liar. If this guy has two inches of cock, I’d be shocked,
she thought.

Clive nodded his head in excitement. After all, what was a hundred bucks when you had five thousand?

The phone ringing interrupted their negotiation. “Don’t you want to answer that, big boy?”

His body was already trembling in anticipation. This was going to be the easiest hundred bucks she had ever made. “Oh no, baby, I want to feel that piercing of yours on my big, thick cock.”

This girl was good. She had even convinced him he had a big dick.

“Well then, I like knowing I’m more important to you than some client.” Shania knew exactly how to get what she wanted out of men; all she had to do was feed their egos. Two seconds later, she had gotten him off and was a hundred dollars richer.

Talon jumped on the back of his bike and revved the engine. It never failed to give him an adrenaline rush when he heard his baby purr. He made certain he had a helmet for Grace and checked his saddlebags and gauges. Really, it was all just habit now, a checklist of sorts.

He took off so he could make his way towards the downtown Louisville area. Grace had been talking about a book she wanted and he was going by a bookstore before he picked her up so he could surprise her with it later. He loved that she was a voracious reader.

Growing up going to private schools had given him a love of literature and he respected those who had a higher education. He knew how much work it took to get a diploma. It didn’t just take brains. No, it took diligence and discipline to get a degree. He had always known the woman he would fall in love with would be a different breed than what the club tended to draw in, but he never expected her to fall in his lap the way Grace had.

He pulled away from the compound and onto River Road before he began to really open up the engine. He loved flying down the wide-open curves of the road that ran along the river. He had grown up in Louisville, Kentucky and he loved everything about it. Now that he had his woman located in the city he had grown up in, life was good.

He sped down the road with the wind blowing through his long, braided hair. One of the reasons that he wore it braided was so it didn’t get in his way on long hauls. He had no desire to cut it but even if he had, Grace had already threatened him with death if he tried.

In no time, he was turning under the overpass and making his way up onto Jefferson Street. It was the same street that would take you right over to the jail he had been housed in on 6
th
street when he met the love of his life. It was also the street where the MC’s strip club was located.

He shook away the bad memories of jail as he made his way up to the bookstore and instead chose to be thankful for the fact that his charges had been dropped.

The young girl behind the counter lit up when she saw him come in. It was a reaction he was used to by now. Between his looks and his badass persona, he drew his share of women gawkers. He had no interest in any other woman but Grace though. He instinctively knew that if he ever fucked around on her, he would lose her. There was no way that was going to happen.

“I need a copy of
Crime and Punishment
,” he stated, barely looking at the young girl behind the counter.

“Mom, where’s a copy of
Crime and Punishment
?”

An older woman made her way out of the backroom and led him right to where it was.

“Can you wrap that for me? It’s a gift for my girlfriend.”

The woman eyed him oddly. He certainly wasn’t dressed like a man who would have a reader for a girlfriend.

“We most certainly can.” Unable to stifle her curiosity, the older woman asked, “Is she a student?”

“Oh no, Ma’am, she’s a lawyer…”

He was so bad. He purposely did it to throw her off guard… and to set goo-goo eyes straight.

He thanked the ladies and made his way out to his bike. Maybe he would spend the night at Grace’s instead of at the compound. They always had so much more privacy at her house. Though he loved the closeness of his MC family and that there was always a full house at the compound, sometimes he just needed to be alone with his old lady.

Chapter Twenty Nine

Luke had tried everything in his power to keep Grace from getting on the back of that bike with Talon. He still hadn’t been able to get in touch with Clive. No doubt the fat slob had been out all night partying with that five thousand dollar down payment he had given him. The jerk would probably have it all spent before he was even successful in doing the job Luke had hired him to do. Though, honestly, he hoped that was the case. He couldn’t stop all the
what ifs
running through his mind. What if he had already cut those brake lines on Talon’s bike? What if Grace gets hurt? Luke would never forgive himself if Grace died because of him.

“Grace, please don’t go.” Luke tried to appeal to her one last time.

She stopped, looked full on into his face, and inquired, “What is wrong with you?”

“I just don’t want you to get hurt.”

“I can assure you that Talon knows how to handle that Harley he’s on. I’ll be fine. It’s almost kind of cute to see you so worried about me, but I’ll be fine.”

She didn’t hear him as he mumbled under his breath as she walked away, “I hope so. God, I hope so.” It came out more like a prayer than a statement.

Talon glared at Luke as he kissed Grace, greeting her as she got on the back of his bike.

“Have you ever ridden, baby?”

“No, I haven’t. Got any tips for me?”

“Yeah, hang on and lean with the turns. Oh, and get ready for the rush of your life. You’ll never be the same, girl.”

Grace scooted in close after getting her helmet on and wrapped her arms around him, getting ready to experience whatever it was that made these guys love their bikes so much.

Talon checked for traffic and pulled out onto the downtown street. The first thing that Grace noticed was the way people stared at them. It wasn’t until they made their way back down to River Road, which was open with no lights and not much traffic, that she felt what Talon was talking about—the sense of freedom.

The wind blew through her hair and off her face and the open road seemed as if it would go on forever. She couldn’t remember a time that she felt weightless like this—like all her problems had disappeared into the wind.

Talon made his way to a quiet little spot by the river and pulled the bike back behind some bushes. He turned and took her helmet off. “I have a surprise for you.” He grabbed a thin blanket out of his saddlebag to take down to the river with them.

“How in the world did you fit that in there?” She asked.

“You’d be shocked how much you can fit in a saddlebag. It’s like living out of a suitcase. It can be done.”

He took her down by the riverbank and spread out the blanket, making the perfect little spot for them.

They leaned back on their hands to watch the river and view the ‘Belle of Louisville’ boat go by with tourists waving at them. Grace could see why these men had chosen the MC club lifestyle. There were no deadlines, meetings, or clients that were never pleased no matter what you did. They just had the open road and the family atmosphere of the club. Maybe it was possible for her to have the best of both worlds; she was damn sure going to try.

“Gotcha something, babe.” He handed her the wrapped book he had bought her.

“You’re so sweet,” she exclaimed as she tore into it, loving presents the way she did. “
Crime and Punishment
—perfect.”

“No, what would be perfect is you riding my cock right here in the open.”

“You are so bad.”

“Yes, I am, babe. Yes, I am.”

Derrick straddled Justine’s body that he had just tied down spread eagle on his bed. His face looked like that of a predator going in for the kill.

“You know, you really do something to me, girl. The thought of another man touching you just kind of makes me fucking nuts.”

With a flick of his wrist, he opened the knife he held.

“You scare me, Derrick. You fucking scare the shit out of me.”

“I feed off of your fear and your pussy gets wet because I do. I have a question to ask you, dear, and if you lie to me, I’m going to be very displeased. Did he touch you?”

She frantically shook her head causing the knife he had placed at her throat to cut into her skin just enough to draw blood. “You should have known better than that, kitten. The sight of your blood excites me and those tears… oh fuck, my cock is so hard right now.”

He trailed just the tip of the knife over her body as he continued speaking. “I knew I would never have a chance with you. The high society you grew up in was just too out of reach for a guy like me to ever attain. I did what I had to do because I love you. Now granted, my kind of love is a fucked up, depraved version, but it is love nonetheless.”

“Derrick,” her voice cut through his musings, “I love you too.”

He dropped the knife he was holding and grabbed a handful of her hair at each side of her head so he could study her face. It was true; she was telling the truth.

“You are the first one, the first person, who has ever loved me with no stipulations. Your love for me is not based on my performance, my money, or even my family name. You are obsessed with me for no other reason than that—obsession. I’m yours, Derrick. From the first day you set your sights on me, I’ve been yours.”

He slid down between her spread open, tethered legs and ran his tongue over her wet opening. His ownership of her tasted so good, like a security, a control that he needed to maintain his sanity. She was his world, his partner, and his lover. He couldn’t ever remember a time he felt this at peace.

The things she allowed him to do to her helped him to maintain a sense of sanity in a world that was broken and chaotic. She gave him what he needed and he gave her a sense of belonging and acceptance she had never experienced before.

His finger slid into her opening as his tongue swirled in the juices her body produced for him. “I wanna taste your come, baby,” he moaned. His lips began to pull at her clit, sucking it into his mouth and working his tongue around it as he pumped his finger in and out of her. The multiple sensations pulled at her core, demanding her to erupt, as volts of electricity coursed through every nerve in her body.

He rose, untied one of her legs, and then undressed before getting back on top of her. He studied her face as he slid his hard cock into her and strummed his finger over her clit. Her needy core locked onto him like she would never release him and pulled an orgasm from his body as she climaxed in unison with the man she loved. Neither would ever be the same again. Whether they expressed it with an intense session of BDSM or with sweet lovemaking, their souls were joined and knit tightly together and neither of them would ever be able to sever the connection.

The phone ringing pulled him from the afterglow of their lovemaking.

“I have to get this, babe.” He stood up and grabbed his phone off the side table. The voice on the other end of the line didn’t even give him the chance to say hello.

“I fucked up, man. I fucked up big time. I was just trying to get her away from Talon. I think I love her.”

“What the fuck are you talking about, Luke?”

“I hired somebody to fuck up Talon’s bike and she’s out on the road with him right now. If she dies because of me… I don’t even want to think about it.”

“Are you crazy or just fucking stupid?” He gave him no time to answer before continuing. “If, and that’s a big damn if, I can get you out of this alive, you’re going to not only owe me, you’re going to owe Dauntless motorcycle club too.”

“I’ll do anything. I can’t get a hold of her and I can’t get a hold of the guy I hired to do the job either.”

“Who’d you hire?”

Derrick spent the next few minutes getting the information he would need from Luke. He would try to do what he could to keep the guy alive because he might need a favor from him later. It would be good to have him indebted to the club. Derrick was right about one thing. After pulling this stunt, whether or not Luke would make it out alive remained to be seen.
