• F E V p FVC, and the FEVj/FVC ratio are the most com-

monly interpreted PFT values. These measures represent

the degree of airway patency during expiration, which

affects airflow in and out of the lung.

• Predicted n o r m a l values for a person's given age, gen-

der, and height will be provided in the PFT report for ref-

erence to the person's actual PFT result.
