Chapter One

~

Zoe finished putting on her lipstick and gave herself a smile in the mirror once she’d finished smacking her lips together. It had been six months since she had taken up her new position as Dawson Alexander’s personal Global Assistant and the company’s Solution Analyst, and so far she was thoroughly enjoying it.

She had travelled more in the past six months than she had in her entire life up until she started on the job. Paris and Italy, London and Venezuela; she seemed to be in a different part of the world every month, and she was getting paid a handsome salary to do what she’d always dreamed of doing; seeing the world and learning new cultures. The job was literally the job of her dreams.

There was just one thing wrong, and that was the lack of companionship she was experiencing. True to his word, Dawson had maintained their conference call meetings once a week, and occasionally he would fly out to wherever she was at that particular moment in time for a face to face meeting with her. But it was all business, and while she genuinely wanted to learn more about the company and his feedback and guidance were essential and enjoyable, she wished that there was more to it than just work; especially in light of how things had been between them when he’d actually offered her the job.

Zoe sighed and sat on the edge of her hotel bed to put her shoes on, thinking back to her flight to Asia where Dawson had surprised her by upgrading her to first class before offering her the position she now held for the company. Afterwards he had taken her into the bathroom and very thoroughly fucked her for the first time, despite his having used her for a couple of kinky sex sessions before that.

Zoe felt herself get warm as she recalled how she had been handcuffed to the radiator in his office and subjected to the most delicious spanking session of her life. Hell, up until that point it had been the
only
spanking session of her life. He had also used paperclips and bulldog clips in a way that they had
never
been invented or intended for. As for the wooden ruler; oh man, what Dawson could do with a ruler.

She remembered the time that he’d taken her to a very high class masquerade ball, where she had worn nothing; not even the expensive ballgown that he’d instructed her to purchase with his credit card. She’d been shocked to the core when she’d been told to strip off all her clothes on arriving at the mansion, but she had relaxed when she’d seen that she wasn’t the only one walking around stark naked. Dawson had told her to let her hair down and have some fun, “If she dared.” She’d dared alright. She’d dared so much that she’d had sex with a woman for the first time ever, in front of a room full of people, no less. And then she’d had her very first threesome with a beautiful woman and her husband.

It had been a night of firsts, but Dawson still hadn’t fucked her even after watching her with other people. She’d had to wait until her flight to Asia for that to happen, and she’d been waiting ever since for it to happen again.

Zoe gave herself a mental shake and slipped her shoes on.
Stop acting like a slut, Zoe, or you’re going to start believing that you are one
. She gave herself another shake and then realized that she had to stop thinking about Dawson or she was going to be late for her meeting with Armando. That would really piss Dawson off because he’d told her in their last phone call that he really wanted her to put the pressure on the guy. He seemed almost desperate to get Armando on board and investing in the company and Zoe was going to make damn sure that she gave him what he wanted.
Just like I always do
, she thought.

He’d told her to make sure that she took him to the best restaurant that Geneva had to offer, and after pulling a few strings, Zoe had managed to get a table at the Ritz Carlton. She had requested a large table that was as private as possible so that she could show Armando all of the paperwork, facts and figures he needed to see. She had only spoken to him on the telephone, but the impression he gave was one of quiet professionalism, and Zoe was determined to leave him feeling impressed with both the company and her.

She called down to the hotel lobby and asked that a car and driver be ready for her in ten minutes time and then spent a couple of minutes making sure that she had all of the relevant paperwork together to take with her. After a quick last look in the full length mirror, Zoe made her way to the lobby by way of the elevator; the uniformed male member of staff inside it giving her a blatant look up and down before throwing a cheeky wink her way.

Zoe arrived at the Ritz Carlton and looked up at the impressive building when she got out of the car. She didn’t know what she was more surprised about; the sheer size and opulence of the hotel before her, or the fact that she wasn’t as surprised by it as she would have been just a few short months earlier. She had become so used to staying at fancy hotels and eating at lavish restaurants that they didn’t seem to faze her anymore.

She straightened her skirt and made her way into the building and the fine dining restaurant it housed, giving her name to the maître d’ and following him to the table she had booked to await Armando Delacourt’s arrival. Zoe ordered a glass of water and opened up her briefcase, retrieving the papers she was going to need and laying them out neatly on the table and giving them a quick once-over even though she’d already done that numerous times before.

A few minutes later, she watched with interest as the maître d’ escorted an olive-skinned gentleman to her table.
Now that is some serious eye candy,
she thought, as she took in his swarthy good looks and muscular physique. She smiled as she got to her feet and extended her hand. “Mr. Delacourt?” The man engulfed her small hand in his much larger one. “I’m Zoe. Thank you so much for meeting with me today.”

“The pleasure is all mine, Zoe, and please, call me Armando.” His voice was as sexy as the rest of him; all husky accent and smooth as melted chocolate.
Oh boy, why did this have to be a business meeting
, she couldn’t help thinking. Armando pushed the chair in under Zoe as she retook her seat, and then he took the chair opposite her, looking around with a slight frown on his handsome face.

Zoe felt nerves kick in. He didn’t look impressed for some reason and she felt that his first impression of her wasn’t necessarily a good one. “Is everything alright, Armando?” She managed to keep all trace of her nervousness from her voice, much to her relief. “I can see if I can get us a different table if you’d prefer?”
Please say no,
she mentally willed him,
this table was almost impossible to get in the first place.

Armando shook his head. “This table is fine. I’m just not a fan of talking business over dinner. It’s a little too formal for me.” He smiled at her and she felt a little flutter of awareness in the pit of her stomach. “Let us eat first and then discuss our options afterwards, yes?” His lilting voice was enough for her to agree to anything he wanted and Zoe was quite shocked when she came to the self-realization that she really did mean anything.

“That sounds like a good idea to me.” She nodded at the waiter and he brought menus across to their table, taking their drinks order and then departing with an efficient nod. Zoe spent the time they waited for their meals to be brought to them by clearing away the papers and folders she had laid out, placing them back in her briefcase and hiding her sigh of frustration. She had to think of a way to get this meeting back on track or Dawson was going to be pissed off at her.

Their meal arrived and the two of them made polite conversation while eating, laughing at impersonal jokes and learning a little more about each other to file away for future reference. They’d just ordered their dessert and Zoe was feeling much more relaxed. “If you’ll excuse me Armando, I just need to go and freshen up.”

Armando stood up politely as Zoe pushed her chair back from the table. “You look as fresh as a daisy, Zoe, but of course I’ll excuse you.”

Zoe felt the heat in her cheeks and knew that she was blushing.
Oh come on, it’s about time you got this stupid blushing thing under control for God’s sake.
Not saying anything, she smiled, nodded and walked away from the table, hoping that he hadn’t noticed how flustered his offhand compliment had made her. She made sure that she splashed her face with some cold water before touching up her make-up and reapplying some lipstick before leaving the restroom and going back to the table.

She was grateful to see that their dessert had arrived and Zoe tucked into her raspberry roulade with gusto, completely oblivious to how Armando was watching her with a twinkle in his eye. “I do like to see a woman who isn’t afraid to enjoy her food.”

She probably should be embarrassed, but Zoe had learned a long time ago, or maybe it was a more recent since Dawson thing, not to try and hide or be ashamed of herself or of what she liked and enjoyed. She gave a delicate shrug of her shoulders and threw a smile in Armando’s direction. “What’s not to enjoy? I think I’d have to be dead to not enjoy this. It’s absolutely delicious.” She popped another forkful of the sweet dessert into her mouth and gave an appreciative moan of approval.

Armando’s smile got wider and he nodded his head in obvious approval. “What is delicious is watching you eat.” He changed the subject so quickly that Zoe wasn’t completely sure that she really had sensed the underlying sexual innuendo in his words. That was until he carried on talking, and then all doubts were well and truly done away with. “I think I would like to go somewhere else when we have finished with our meal, Zoe. Maybe somewhere a little more intimate where we can share a drink or two and get to know each other a little better.”

Zoe quickly racked her brains. She hadn’t been here that long and knew of only a handful of places that were suitable to take him to. One possibility sprung to mind and she latched on to it in the hope that he would agree. She had to get this meeting back on track before she talked to Dawson. “There is a very nice bar not far from here, Armando. It’s a high-class exclusive place so we should be able to talk in relative privacy while we enjoy our drinks.”

“Perfect. If you will excuse me I just need to make a quick phone call before we leave.” He got up from the table and walked towards the door while Zoe’s eyes bored into him as she watched him intently. She had never really been one to ogle men, but this guy’s ass was poetry in motion and she could quite happily look at it all night.

Zoe quickly finished off her dessert and caught the attention of the waiter to indicate that she would like her bill. After paying with the company credit card she gathered up her purse and briefcase and made her way outside to join him there. He was just finishing his phone call and was putting his cell phone back in his suit pocket as she reached him. “I am now officially all yours for the evening, Zoe.” That sounded delectable to her, but she had to remind herself that he was probably just referring to business and nothing personal.
