Prologue…

Allison was busy trying to prepare dinner for her ‘
dear’
husband. She often used the word dear loosely but always in her head. There was no way she would risk angering him any more than he normally is. For some reason, she couldn’t force herself to leave her home life. Derek was a very attractive chocolate man. Very successful in the business sense. Since meeting him she has never had to want for anything. Well besides a little freedom. The most freedom she is allowed is to the grocery store or retail store for household items. Even being such an influential businessman, she still was the seen not heard wife. He never invited others to their home for any reason and for sure she wasn’t allowed to socialize at his work functions.

Being the shy type any way, she didn’t really mind the solitude. Paranoia of people ogling her made her skin crawl. Derek on the other hand was the complete opposite. For one he oozed sex appeal. When she first met him while working at a simple breakfast restaurant, she knew for a fact he was well out of her reach. However he still tried to come on to her. She was young, inexperienced, and broke. ‘Why would a man as fine and as educated as he, want me?’ She often questioned herself getting no answer of course. His dark chocolate complexion, built stature, and dressed for success at every hour of the day was a true intimidation. Allison mainly wore sweats or baggy jeans and shirts to hide her thick figure. Derek would just call her fat if he saw too much. Mainly the only time he wanted to see her in next to nothing was in one of his hormonal times of the month.

The thought alone would be crazy to hear if she hadn’t been living it for the past eight years. Once or twice a month he would have those urges to get his rocks off. Well that was how he always phrased it. It was never romantic, always sleazy and trashy. If anything she didn’t feel cherished like women are in the movies, she feels like his dumping post. Nothing sensual or intimate as love making. Mainly dominating, demeaning sex acts that always left little to the imagination. He would tie her to their bed while she wore some trampy outfit that he would pick out. After he would relieve himself on her exposed body parts he would demand she get the mess cleaned up so he can get some sleep.

Sadly throughout all the times he has brought her to tears she still jumps to when he says jump. Damn questioning ‘how high’ she didn’t want her face to the floor like so many other times. There would be periods where he would be so angry that any sharp breath she took too loudly resulting in him teaching her a lesson. A lesson that she had yet to learn because it wasn’t quite clear. She didn’t understand why he would be so angry. The one time she asked could she go to school he hit the roof and then her. That beating verbally and physically was enough to remind her to never bring that up again. If she valued her life with no friends or family, who would raise questions of her whereabouts, she quickly learned to roll with the punches.

“Derek?” She called out. Having heard the front door open, she knew he had just walked in. They kept their doors locked so there was no doubt it had to be him. The alarm sensors chimed when the doors were opened. Why wasn’t he replying though? “Honey?” For sure she wasn’t hearing things. Maybe he went back out to the car just as quick as he came in. That had to be the only answer.

Shrugging her shoulders she finished making his plate. That was one of his main rules.
‘Have my supper on the table when I get home! Or else.’
There was no way she was going to suffer the remnants of an ‘or else’ warning. It had been a bit since he last laid hands on her and if she could help it, she would do her best to not drive him to it. ‘Where the hell was he?’ If this dinner got cold she would be in a shit load of trouble being another one of his pet-peeves. It was unfair, he would complain about not having his dinner prepared on time and then take his time getting to it resulting in it getting cold. Only if she could shout that to his face.

“Derek? Dinner is ready.” She started towards the front of the house. There was no sign of him being home in the living room so she headed towards his office. Hearing some papers and other things moving around, she knew he must have been in one those moods. Swallowing the fear she possessed, she pushed the door open only to stop dead in her tracks.

“Who are you?” She questioned watching two large Caucasian men rambling through her husband’s things. “Why are you going through my husband’s things? How did you get in here?” She rambled question after question. Instead of being smart about the issue at hand she was more focused on her own safety once Derek returned home to find this mess. She would ultimately be blamed for this.

“Well good evening Mrs. Myers.” One of the men spoke with a hard tone of voice. Fear instantly crept up her spine but she was frozen in the spot she skidded to a stop in. A scream was tickling the back of her throat and they must be a wiz in reading those thoughts.

“Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” The other guy said smoothly while removing his pistol from the holster under his arm. “Be a good girl and have a seat, right here.” He pointed to the leather chair in front of the desk. Once she was seated, she didn’t dare make a peep.

“Now it would be very wise of you to cooperate with us and you won’t be hurt. Does that sound like a plan?” The first guy asked and she nodded to afraid to open her mouth.

“Didn’t your mother ever tell you it’s rude to nod when you have a perfectly good mouth willing to do the work?” The other mocked. “Now let’s try this again.”

“Y-yes.” She stuttered out. He smiled a gorgeous smile that made her want to slap herself for admiring his perfect white teeth.

“Good. We are looking for something very important. Do you think you can assist us in that?”

“Y-yes.”

“Where does Derek keep the money?”

“W-what money?”

“Now, now Mrs. Myers. Let’s not play coy.”

“N-no…” She cleared her throat to get her point across. “I mean Derek handles everything. I-I’m not allowed in here. He doesn’t tell me anything.” Allison said sadly.

“Well sorry to say dear, we have to take you for a ride. Will you be a good little girl and go quietly? Or do we have to use more drastic measures?”

“N-no…I can’t. If he finds out… He will be so angry.” She pleaded with them.

“He won’t be doing a thing right now but to insure you cooperate further…” He trailed off raising up from his perch on the edge of the desk. She didn’t know what was coming next but she knew it couldn’t be good. “Sleep…”

Allison’s struggled to remove the cloth from over her face that proved pointless as everything went black. ‘Why was this happening,’ was her last conscious thought.

Chapter 1

Allison Myers was a twenty-nine year old kept woman by force definitely not by choice. In the beginning, she considered herself to be lucky to be courted by such an influential business man. When first pursuing her, there was no question that he was well above her league. If anything she was only used to the hoodlums, pimps, or even just the basic blue color worker that would approach her. The blue collar she didn’t mind so much for at least they could struggle together to reach a happy medium. With no dating experience or any extravagant people skills period, they normally didn’t make it past a few conversations.

Growing up in an orphanage, various foster homes, and group homes refrained her from having a normal childhood. Unfortunately for her, she was left at the university hospital directly after birth. According to the records at the group home, her mother died before she was rushed to have an emergency caesarian. For a long time they monitored to see if she would have any side effects from being born with crack cocaine in her little system. Apparently her birth mother was admitted of an overdose that took her life with a snap of the fingers. No other family came forward claiming the infant causing her to become a ward of the state.

Surprisingly enough she was in some decent places as far as living conditions. Besides the couple of homes she lived in that had men in the house, it wasn’t as bad as most horror stories. The men were heavy handed when it came to their spouses or significant others. Once she asked one of her foster mother’s why he would get so angry to a point where he would beat her. Her only response was, women are meant to be submissive to their spouses. The word submissive means a lot of things but punching bag wasn’t one of them in the dictionary. Either way somehow she wound up in the same predicament.

Even though it didn’t start off like that. Derek started things off like any other type of courtship. It didn’t take much to impress her so everything he did made her feel special. Since he was older in age he was more mature than any other guy that had attempted to try and date her. There was an eleven year age difference between the two but he was persistent that age didn’t matter. Coming up poor there wasn’t much appeal to be approached by anyone let alone the popular kids. Dating Derek was as close as she knew she would ever be. Working a thirty hour a week job only afforded her enough to pay for the bare essentials. There would be times that the lights would be cut-off because she had to make a choice. Rent or lights. Although she only had a small roach infested efficiency apartment, it was hers so she did what she had to do.

The very first time Derek came to her house the disgust was carefully hidden the first few times. Upon the last time when he figured out she didn’t have any electricity, he offered to take her away from it all. The dead end job, small apartment, and lack of finances, all she had to do was accept his proposal. Although void of much romance, he insisted that he could love her well beyond any love she has ever had. Considering she has never had anyone tell her they loved her, that spoke volumes. Furthermore she didn’t really know what love was outside of someone being there for another. From what she could tell he just wanted to take care of her. Make her forget all of her worries. The only thing he asked of her was that she be there for him in return.

Pondering over his proposal for two nights was almost her last night. One faithful night the restaurant she worked at was robbed and the gunman threatened to take something that even Derek hadn’t received. After locking the manager and the other employees in the freezer, there was nothing but space and opportunity to take what he desired. Like prince charming riding in on his white horse, Derek showed up right in the nick of time. Normally at that time of hour they didn’t get much business so she knew if he hadn’t have arrived she would have been ran through and possibly left for dead. That solidified her answer in a nutshell.

Derek didn’t waste any more time in whisking her away to Las Vegas to tie the knot that same night. At a little white chapel on the strip she became Mrs. Derek Myers. The scariest part had yet to come meaning the honeymoon. Being escorted into the lobby of the casino, they made their way to the elevators to take them to their hotel room. Arriving at the door was unnerving for Allison. Aside from a few heated make out sessions they hadn’t gone any further. It made Derek so happy to know that he had a virgin for a wife. Said it was one of things that made him adore her so. Derek walked in first holding the door open for her to enter. Unlike the movies he didn’t carry her over the threshold and she was starting to see that fairytale’s are just that. They don’t exist and people don’t do those things for real.

Flashback…

“How does it feel to be my Mrs.?” Derek asked as they stood in the living room of the nice room.

“It feels great. How does it feel to have me as your Mrs.?”

“Intimidating.”

“Intimidating?”

“You are so pretty, innocent, and…afraid.”

“Afraid?” She asked nervously fidgeting with her hands.

“You know I wouldn’t hurt you intentionally, right?”

“Of course. I’m just nervous with it being my first time and all.”

“It’s alright. We don’t have to do anything just yet. I won’t force you to do anything you are not ready for.”

“You mean that?”

“Of course. Have I ever lied to you?”

“No.”

“I tell you what. Let’s go down stairs and grab some dinner. Afterwards we can hit the casino for a bit. Since you have never been.”

“Um. Sure, I guess I can watch you.”

“They say that beginners are winners.”

“I’ll take your word for it.” They left to dinner where Derek took it upon himself to point out what he wanted her to eat. After six months of dating, Allison had grown used to the control he desired. She considered it as him just being sweet since she wasn’t really well-rounded.

After dinner they went to the casino where she felt extremely out of place but Derek seemed right at home. Only two hours in being left at the slots machines, Allison was ready to call it quits. Derek assured her that he would only be down there just a little longer. Telling her to go to the room and he would be up when he was done, ‘a while’ turned into several hours later. Allison took a long hot bath trying to ease her nerves of what she was sure needed to happen. Although she was terrified and apprehensive about giving up her virginity, she was willing to try for Derek.

Holding on to her virginity her entire teen and a portion of her adult life was hard. Mainly hard because peer pressure was a beast. Everybody was doing it except for her. She had been called so many different names but she never thought anyone worthy enough of such a wonderful gift. Derek was growing on her. She wouldn’t lie and say she was head over heels in love but the point was that she said yes. A few times she had questioned herself on why she said yes but it always boiled down to how much he seemed to care for her. No one has ever offered to take care of her, not even her own flesh and blood. No telling if the records were indeed accurate about her mother being a crack-head. Her thing was someone had to know she was pregnant. Yet no one came looking for her.

Pondering over her past and now her present, Allison ended up fast asleep. Waiting up for him had grown quite tiresome. All the ruckus he was making caused her to wake up with a jolt. Her heart was racing and she didn’t know what to make out of all the cursing he was doing. Things sounded like they were being turned over left and right. Easing out of the bed, she wanted to be sure it was him or at least make sure he wasn’t harmed. Tip-toing into the front room of their hotel, she found a fuming Derek taking glasses of whiskey to the head as he cursed up a storm.

“Derek, are you alright?” Allison asked timidly.

“WHAT?!” He snapped his gaze towards her. His tone was so forceful she had to take a step or two back.

“I asked were you alright?”

“Just fucking dandy.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing for you to worry about.”

“Are you sure? Maybe I can help.”

“I said…it’s nothing. Here have a drink with me.” He poured two drinks of the strong smelling liquor.

“You know I don’t drink.”

“It will help you relax.” Allison took the glass to keep from seeming ungrateful. The first small sip burned her lips to a point where she was fanning them. “I keep forgetting how innocent you are. Let me make you something else.” He chuckled as he mixed several bottles together. She took a seat on the couch and waited for him to join her.

“This is pretty good. It’s sweet.” She commented on the fruity drink he made her. Before long she was loosening right up. Almost too much because the room started to spin with the third glass. She felt a little disoriented. The only thing that rested her mind was the fact that she was with her husband. He surly wouldn’t let anything bad happen to her. At least that’s what she thought as she let her mind drift to no man’s land.

End of flashback…

Allison had woken up the next morning with a banging headache and extreme soreness between her legs. Everything below her waist felt like it had been ripped by a hot knife. The blood on the sheets confirmed her theory that she was indeed deflowered. From the looks and feel of things, it wasn’t a gentle ride either. The fog was so thick she couldn’t think straight. The last thing she remembered was feeling a little off when Derek started advancing on her. Kisses, touches, and her body seemed too heavy to do anything but feel. Pointless attempts at voicing her concern for him to stop fell on deaf ears. Everything else was a blur.

“Allison!” She heard her name being yelled out by her husband of eight years. Now she regretted reflecting over her life after meeting him because of how easily she would become distracted. “I know you heard me calling you.”

“Yes dear. I’m sorry.” Allison attempted at soothing her upset spouse.

“Dinner ready?”

“Almost.”

“Almost?” He sneered. “What the hell have you been doing all day besides sitting on your fat ass?”

“…”

“I swear you love to anger me.” She heard him tsk as she began to make their plates. Mentally cringing at the thought of what may happen if he didn’t find something pleasing to him soon.

“I’m sorry.”

“Yes you are but I won’t hold that against you.” That insult cut a little but considering he hadn’t laid his hands on her yet was good enough for now.

“Here you are.” She laid his plate down at the table with his glass of brandy and waited.

“…” The silence coming from him was deafening. It was very powerful with him being so quiet than when he was shouting at the top of her lungs. His nod of approval was all she needed in order to breathe properly again. Running back to the kitchen to grab her plate, she sat across from him. Although his plate had a medium rare T-bone steak and new potatoes, hers only consisted of a bland piece of baked chicken and broccoli.

“No bread for you.” He reprimanded as Allison was reaching for a piece of warm garlic bread from the center of the table.

“…” Instead of arguing she just went back to her super bland meal. As always when he would come at her that way she would just retreat to her ‘quiet place’ for comfort. “How was your day?” She asked attempting to engage him in a polite conversation.

“It was...” He went on and on about some business ventures while she pretended to be interested. Derek could ramble for days. According to some experts people who rambled were great negotiators. She wouldn’t know because she wasn’t allowed to negotiate anything, with or without him. She was just an accessory to him. “I noticed you were near the college today. Mind telling me what that was about?”

“In order to get the steak cut the way you like it, I need to drive across town. While I was there I did the rest of the grocery shopping.” Allison easily lied. If he even suspected she was telling a story that would be all she wrote. The truth was that she had enrolled into the college under her maiden name about two years ago. Lately she had gotten a little sloppy trying to cover her tracks. Another reason why dinner was a little behind. The last class she had on campus caused her to have to rush back to the side of town they stayed on.

“You’ve used that excuse before. It would probably be wise to use a meat market on this side of town. Wouldn’t you agree?”

“I honestly tried honey. The last time the steaks were well under cut. I only wanted to please you.” She admitted sadly. Although she was lying, the truth still showed itself within the lie. She wanted to please him above even herself.

Derek stood to his feet after finishing his dinner. Rounding the table he stopped right next to Allison. The fear was crippling. There was a huge part of her that thought he saw straight through her lies. That one part was dreading what the outcome was going to be. Derek had promised to keep his temper in check, therefore keeping his hands to himself. The last time he got out of control was about three weeks ago. That hiccup caused her to miss out on a week of class. Luckily she was somewhat smart so she was on top of her studies.

“I think you’re keeping something from me sweetheart.”

“…”

“Come let us turn in for the night. You can clean this mess in the morning.”

“But Derek…”

“Don’t make your punishment worst. Now…Get. Up.” Derek smiled his sadistic way. ‘How did she end up with a monster for a husband?’
