The Lord of Evil was pulled into the ground, right through the happy face.
‘I’ll see you in the Nightosphere, you sick freak!’ Finn yelled in triumph.
‘Finn! How could you do that?’ Marceline asked in horror.
‘How could I…save the day?’ Finn asked.
‘How could you embarrass me like that and then stab my dad?’ Marceline answered furiously.
Marceline moved the guitar over Finn’s head and tried to clobber him with it, but Finn jumped out of the way.
‘Whoa!’ Finn yelled. ‘Marceline!’
‘I’m glad he’s back in the Nightosphere,’ Marceline said with a long sigh, ignoring the fact that she’d just tried to hit her friend with her guitar. ‘That was emotionally exhausting.’
‘I’m also exhausted emotionally. Oh, wait, I mean…physically,’ Finn said, as he fell to the ground. Marceline collapsed next to him, and the two friends watched as the freed souls flew over their heads.
Marceline giggled. The free souls were like clouds. It was hard to believe that, just moments ago, they had all been trapped inside her father.
‘I’ve been meaning to ask you,’ Marceline said, as they watched the soul parade, ‘what’s up with that pocket on your shirt?’ Finn looked down at the little pocket on the left side of his shirt. In all the excitement, he’d forgotten about it.
Finn told her, stretching the pocket out enough for Marceline to see Finn’s best-buddy dog-friend sound asleep. Jake rolled over. He didn’t even know that he’d missed an evil, but awesome, adventure.
