To Cheve I answered “You know Alex has to come.” I
thought I heard Cheve say, “Should stake him today.”

“
What did you say?”

“
I said we should make him pay.
Make him pay the expenses for this little road trip.”

I chuckled at Cheve because we both knew that my
hearing was above normal, and we both knew damn well what he said.
“I’m sure that Alex will be more than happy to pay our expenses.
Why don’t you go and make the arrangements for Bullet and then make
sure that Mark is ready. Alex will be getting up soon and will need
to feed before we head out.”

Cheve gave one last wistful look at Alex and then
left with Bullet on his heels. It was uncanny how that wolf was
always tuned to my intentions. I quickly tore off my clothes and
slipped under the covers beside Alex. We had not had the time to be
alone together since we were making our plans to leave.

I snuggled up against Alex’s cool body and waited
for him to wake. I traced a finger over his forehead, admiring the
long blond eyelashes that rested against his face. My finger traced
downwards until I came to his soft lips. I stared at them in
fascination. I couldn’t seem to stop myself as I leaned in and
traced them with my tongue, reveling in the scent and taste that
was all Alex.

My body began to tingle with primitive urges. I
couldn’t help to think how wrong this was. Alex was as good as
unconscious in his torpor, but I couldn’t help trailing my hand
down his chest. The light hair on his chest veered into a V as my
hand moved farther downward. I heard a sharp intake of breath just
a millisecond before Alex pushed me onto my back and entered me
with both his hard cock and his extended fangs.

“
Ohhhhhh…Alex….yesss…don’t stop.”
I moaned, as he slid in and out of my slick opening. As he fed from
me, I could feel my entire body pulsating with one wave after
another. Alex pulled his fangs from my neck and licked the wound to
close it.

An irresistible urge to bite Alex coursed through me
and as I kissed his neck, I bit down just a little and tasted his
blood on my tongue.

Oh God, Baby. Whatever it is
you’re doing don’t stop. It feels as if you’re pulling every drop
of pleasure out of me. I’m going to come….soon.”

With his last word his movements increased until he
was pounding into me with such ferocity that I thought surely we
would go through the wall. Alex cried out, and I could feel the hot
liquid shooting inside me. In reaction my body answered back with
earth shattering explosions of its own.

We began kissing each other in a frenzy of pleasure.
Every movement, every touch was exquisite. I couldn’t help the
words from tumbling from my mouth, “Alex you are incredible, it
feels so good…you taste so…mmmmm”

Alex’s mouth was everywhere “Baby…I feel so out of
control....mmmmm…let’s roll over…yeah…move your hips a
little…Ahhhhhh…God yeah….”

The sensations we were feeling were out of control.
It was mindless, pure bliss. How long we would have stayed like
that I would never know because there was a pounding on the
door.

“
Orenda, for crying out loud,
can’t the two of you control yourselves?”

It took several more minutes for my brain to
register Cheve’s plea. I grabbed Alex’s head between my hands and
forced him to concentrate on me. “Alex…Alex…look at me.”

Alex finally was able to focus on me, “Baby…I’m
sorry…that was….”

“
I know. Holy shit, Alex we have
to be careful. This passion thing is way out of control between
us.” I couldn’t help but feel frightened by the intensity of our
lust.

Alex gave me a reassuring hug. “I know Baby. I
really hate to admit it, but we may need to speak to Cheve about
this.”

“
Yikes. You must be
worried.”

Alex started for the bathroom but not before kissing
me and saying, “Not exactly worried, just concerned.”

We stopped to say goodbye to Onatah before heading
to the boat that would take us to the mainland where cars waited
for us. Mark and Cheve had taken care of all of the details today.
Onatah stood waiting for us outside her longhouse. “Khe:awak,
hopefully it won’t be too long before you’re back here. May the
spirits protect you and keep you safe.”

I found myself feeling sad at leaving her. Even
though I was holding myself back, I felt something pull in the area
of my heart when I thought about leaving. Impulsively I threw my
arms around her and hugged her hard. “I will be careful and be back
before you know it, No’yeh.”

Tears gathered in her eyes with my use of the
Iroquois word for mother. Onatah turned to Alex. “I know you will
protect her with your life, as she would yours.”

Alex nodded and bowed low to her.

An hour later we were heading to the cars that were
prepared, one being a large SUV. That would be the one Bullet would
be traveling in, I thought to myself.

There was nothing left but to load our bags and
Bullet and be on our way. I started grabbing bags and throwing them
in the car as I sang, “All my bags are packed and I’m ready to go.
I’m standing here outside your door…..”

All of a sudden I noticed dead silence. Everyone had
stopped in mid-stride. “What?” I asked looking around. Cheve looked
like he had eaten something bad. Mark’s eyes were looking
everywhere but at me. When I looked at Alex his eyes were shining
with pride and love. I quickly looked away. “Haven’t you people
ever heard anyone sing before?”

Cheve said rather rudely, “You call that singing? It
sounded like a wounded wolf.”

Alex grabbed me around the waist and swung me
around. “It was the most glorious sound I’ve ever heard. Baby, you
are awesome. Sing something else for me.”

Cheve muttered, “Fucking
vampires.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “I’ll sing something
special for you. Just wait until we get to our rest stop.”

“
Rest stop? I thought we were
going straight to Newark airport for a direct flight to the
Bahamas”

“
There was a little change of
plans. Since Bullet is coming along we’ll need to stop. Besides it
will work better with your sleeping schedule.”

Alex hugged me and whispered into my ear, “You love
me. You just haven’t admitted it to yourself.” He pulled away with
a big grin on his face, “Yet.”

The thought of loving him made me ill. “Get the car
packed so we can be on our way. Oh and by the way, you will be
footing the bill for all expenses on this excursion.”

I heard Cheve laugh.

Alex said, “No problem I had planned to anyway.”

Alex asked if I wanted to drive
but I declined, so he got behind the wheel. In the other car Mark
drove with Cheve riding shotgun. Both cars had GPS and were already
programmed with our destination. Mark and Cheve had been busy
little boys today. As Alex pulled the car out of the parking lot he
asked, “Okay, where are we heading?”

“
We’re going to stop and see
Leeds.” I awaited his reaction.

“
I thought that might be where we
were heading.”

“
Is that okay with you?” I wasn’t
sure how Alex felt about Leeds since he was a friend of Roberto’s.
Leeds had helped us before when we were being chased by The
Guardians. I would be the first to admit that Leeds was a bit off.
He hardly ever left his home in the swamp, and he had some odd
habits like mumbling to himself and rubbing himself in front of
anyone.

I’d thought about him often these last few months. I
was one of the few people he had told his story to, and what a sad
story it was. Leeds was actually the famed Jersey Devil, but what
people didn’t know was his sad story of how he was born different
and turned out by his own family at the young age of five. Every
time I thought about Leeds my heart would break. I hated thinking
about him all alone with no family and no friends. As far as I knew
Roberto and I were his only friends.

“
I don’t mind, Baby. I know the
two of you are friends. I’m not sure why though. The guy is
strange, and I don’t like the way he looks at you and then rubs
himself. That’s just plain wrong.”

I laughed. “Well, I’ll admit that he is a little
off, but he means no harm and he knows that I have no attraction to
him which drives him crazy.”

“
Well, his attraction to you
drives me crazy, but the man does have good taste.” Alex reached
over and took my hand. As soon as his hand came in contact with
mine, an electrical current raced along the nerve endings in my
arm. My breathing quickened as did Alex’s. “Alex? What’s going on?
This isn’t normal.”

Alex dropped my hand quickly. “No it’s not. I
suspect it has something to do with our blood exchange. We really
will need to talk to Cheve when we get to Leeds’ place.”

Damn. What had happened to all of my self control? I
turned up the air conditioner because I was still warm from our
initial contact. Since I hadn’t had much sleep I said to Alex “I’m
going to close my eyes and try and get some rest.”

“
That’s a good idea Babe, you
rest.” I wanted to snuggle close to him but was afraid to. I
couldn’t imagine what that close contact would do to us when just
our hands touching caused our bodies to riot.

Alex turned his head to look at me and I could see
by the concern in his eyes that he was thinking the same thing.

I drifted off to sleep but woke an hour later to
moaning. In my confused state I couldn’t comprehend who’s it was,
mine or Alex’s. I looked over at him and his brow was dotted with
sweat. He moaned and an electrical current swept through my body.
“Alex? What’s going on?”

Through clenched teeth he said, “I don’t know Baby,
but I’m in agony. I need to fuck you so bad it’s painful. It’s been
like this for the last 15 minutes. I can’t drive anymore. I have to
pull over.”

Alex pulled the car onto the shoulder of the road
and up ahead I saw Mark pull off also. I was frightened. Alex was
gripping the steering wheel so hard that he was going to leave
marks. He dropped his forehead onto the wheel and tried to slow his
breathing.

My body was having the same reaction but not nearly
as bad as his. I reached my hand to touch him but dropped it fast
when he growled, “Don’t touch me! I’m holding on by a thread
here.”

Thank God I saw Cheve walking towards us. I rolled
the window down as he neared. He leaned down and said, “What’s
going on?”

“
I don’t know. Alex and I are
having a hard time controlling ourselves. Alex is in pain. What’s
going on Cheve? I don’t like this. It’s frightening seeing him this
way.”

“
Fuck! Did he take your blood?”
Cheve asked.

“
Yeah, yesterday and
tonight.”’

“
Fucker!!” He exploded.

“
What’s going on Cheve?” I
repeated as Alex groaned again.

“
He has too much of your Sensay
blood in him. He can’t control his urges towards you. I’ll admit
though he’s very strong willed if he hasn’t attacked you
yet.”

Alex lifted his head. “Will you stop talking about
me as if I weren’t here? Just tell us what we need to do.”

Cheve’s eyes met mine. At once I understood what we
needed to do.

“
Ummm…how….what?” was all I could
get out. This was embarrassing.

Cheve made a rather rude noise and said, “You can’t
do it here on the side of the highway. Hopefully we can find a
motel not too far up ahead. In the meantime I think it’s best to
have Alex ride with Mark and I’ll drive you.”

“
No!” That came from both Alex and
Mark, who had gotten out of the car to see what was happening. Mark
looked disgusted as he said, “I don’t want to ride with a crazed
horny vampire.”

Alex moaned, “For fuck’s sake, do you think I would
ever find myself wanting to get it on with you?”

Mark raised his head and his eyes were hard. “Why?
Aren’t I good enough for a vampire?”

“
Oh for the love of God, Alex, go
ride with Mark. Mark, Alex is not going to attack you. Cheve, help
Alex to the other car.” He went around the SUV to help Alex out of
the car but before he got out Alex looked at me “I’m so sorry Babe.
I didn’t know.”

“
It’s not your fault Alex. I was
the one who begged you to bite me remember?”

Alex looked like he wanted to argue the point but
instead let Cheve lead him away. Cheve came back in a few minutes
and slid into the driver’s seat without a word. I could see by the
hard set of his jaw he wasn’t too pleased with me.

“
Cheve, I’m sorry about this mess.
I had no idea that this would happen. I--”

“
You are a
Sensay…no, not just a Sensay but
the
Sensay, the chosen one. At some
point you will have to start using your brain instead of letting
things get out of hand. The minute that fucking vampire showed up I
was afraid this was going to happen.”

“
Wait a minute. That’s not fair.
We didn’t know anything like this would happen. Am I not supposed
to ever have a sexual relationship again?”

“
I didn’t say that, but before you
did you should have spoken to me.”

“
So now I have to get your
permission to sleep with someone?”

“
Yes.”

“
You’re kidding me,
right?”

“
No. You’re not ready yet to know
how to handle certain situations. I would have told you to be
careful with Alex, to not let him take your blood. You’ve only been
training for a few months. We’ve just begun scratching the surface
of your powers and the effects those powers will have on
others.”
