Paige gasped. “Mom has been complaining about daddy taking more trips for the college the last couple of years.” Bobby threw his head back and laughed. Paige elbowed him in the side. “That’s not funny,” she pouted.

“Aw, Baby, I’m sorry,” Bobby crooned and locked his gaze on her pouting lips. “Let me make it up to you.”

He leaned in and captured her bottom lip with his, sucking it into his mouth. Paige laced her fingers in the hair at the nape of his neck and he groaned into her mouth as he started to devour it. Paige felt like her skin was melting off as the fire from within heated her whole body. Bobby’s hands on her waist were so strong and large.

Paige lifted up and straddled his lap. A low growl vibrated in the back of his throat as she started to grind her hips into his lap. No man could ever make Paige want like this man could, just one touch and she was willing to lay bare to him.

“Paige, we don’t have to do this,” Bobby rasped. “I just meant to kiss you, Baby.”

“I want you,” she moaned.

“You have me,” Bobby promised against her neck as he placed soft kisses against her skin.

Bobby flipped their bodies so that Paige was beneath him. He placed his hands behind her knees and pushed her skirts up her thighs. Bobby kissed his way down her collarbone to between her breasts that were spilling over her dress, flicking out his tongue.

“God, you’re beautiful and you taste so good,” Bobby murmured against her breast. His hand snaked between her thighs and into her thong. He groaned at the feel of the soaked fabric and fresh. “Always so ready for me, this is mine, Paige. You’re giving it up to me, only me.”

Paige bucked and writhed beneath. “Yes, yours,” she purred.

Bobby watched her in awe as he brought her to the edge with his skilled fingers. She was his Paige, finally. He was never letting her go again. His girl, his love, and as soon as she would allow his wife, “Come for me, my Princess,” he crooned.

Bobby felt her walls tighten around his fingers and her body started to shake beneath him. He pushed her dress further up her waist and moved to cover her with his body. He captured her cries with his mouth and pushed his budge against the place she needed it most.

“Please,” Paige panted.

“Patience,” he breathed. “I’ve missed you so much, I want to savior this.”

Bobby hooked his fingers in her drenched thong and slid it down her legs. He started to kiss his way up her legs as his cell phone started to ring. There was nothing that was going to stop him from getting what he wanted.

He ignored the phone and tugged at the fly of his shorts. Bobby moved up her body again planting soft tender kisses on her lips as he lined his arousal up against her drenched sex.

Just as he was about to push inside, Paige’s phone started to ring inside her little dress pocket. Paige growled in frustration and pulled the phone out of her pocket. Bobby covered her hand with his and pulled the phone away.

“Don’t answer it,” he rasped and covered her lips with his once again. But before he could join their bodies his phone started ringing again. Bobby bit out a curse under his breath and reached to pull the phone from his shorts down around his hips. He started to ignore the call and toss the phone but Paige bit her lip and gave him a nervous look.

“Something could be wrong at the house,” she sighed.

Bobby curse again and sat back on his heels to take the call. “Mairettie,” he bit out.

“Thank God, Bobby, Mr. Fitzgerald called. His son was arrested in New York and he wants you and only you to go and get him out. Your dad was going to go but Mr. Fitzgerald is insisting that it’s you. It looks bad and the kid needs someone there fast,” Camille rushed into the phone. “The jet is gassed and ready to go. I can fly with you if you want.”

Bobby cursed again. “No,” he sighed. “I’ll go. This is the third time in the last two months with that little shit. I knew he was just one friend away from getting himself in some real trouble. I’m on my way.”

“Okay, I packed some of your things already. I’ll be at the car,” Camille said before cutting off the line.

“Baby, I’m so sorry,” Bobby sighed as he started to straighten Paige’s dress and then his clothes. He reached for her ruined thong and slipped it into his back pocket before getting to his feet. “I have to fly back to New York, like right now. I promise when I get back I will make this up.”

“It’s fine Bobby. You know I understand,” Paige said and kissed him on the cheek. “I’ll blow out the candle and get the basket; someone will be out for everything else later.”

Paige moved quickly to collect the basket. Bobby grabbed her shoes and her hand leading them back to the house. It was tearing him apart that he had to leave her like this. He just hoped that she didn’t change her mind when she had time to think, while he was gone.

When they reached the house James and Camille were at the car. Camille handed him his computer bag and his father nodded before climbing into the car without a word. Henry Fitzgerald was an old family friend; he expected nothing less of his father. He would always be there to support a friend in a time of need; it was nothing personal to Bobby’s performance.

Bobby turned to Paige and pulled her into an embrace. “I’ll text you when I get on the plane and when I land in New York. I’ll come straight back when this is handled,” Bobby murmured again her lips.

He kissed her passionately as Paige hugged him tightly. When he pulled away he searched her face for reassurance that she would still be his when he returned. Once he found what he was looking for he pecked her lips once more and turned to get in the car.

“There are those you love for a moment and then those you love for life. You are one of the lucky ones, Son. Count your blessing you have earned a lifer,” James smiled at his son and patted his shoulder.

Chapter Seventeen

B
obby
: We are flying back this evening. Henry is taking us to a late lunch and we’ll fly out right after.

Paige
: Okay babe. Miss you.

Bobby
: Miss you more. Need to see your smile.

Paige
:

Paige sighed as she fell back into the couch. Bobby had been texting her with his progress from the time he left. This was so new to her, having someone be accountable to her and her actually caring enough for him to be.

“You are so in love,” Julia gushed.

Paige felt her cheeks get hot. All of the women started to giggle. They’d all been sipping on strawberry daiquiris this afternoon and looking through bridal magazines with Julia.

Paige found herself getting caught up in all the wedding excitement and day dreaming of her own wedding. She wondered what her father would think of Bobby. He wasn’t too fond of Peter, at first she thought it was because he was a white man but she soon learned her father didn’t care for Peter as a man at all.

“Plead the fifth,” Paige smiled.

“They are so adorable together,” Camille squealed. “You had to see them. He looked like a sad puppy and she looked like a lost doe. I felt like I was watching the sad part in a Disney movie.”

Everyone burst into laughter again. Paige pitched a pillow at her as she laughed. Camille stuck her tongue out like a little girl and Paige rolled her eyes.

“So how did dinner go last night,” Minnie beamed and moved to the edge of her seat. “James and I did try not to interrupt you kids but Henry was being irrational.”

“It was… it was perfect,” Paige cooed. “He is just so… oh gosh, he’s perfect. I never thought being with him would be so easy. I mean we work well together, but that’s work. Last night was no different though. He made me laugh, he listened and he was a perfect gentleman.”

“Sure he was,” Camille teased. “That’s why it took me three calls to get through to the two of you.”

Paige felt all the blood drain from her face and her wide eyes shot to Minnie who was smiling at her knowingly. Paige’s eyes flickered to Camille and she glared draggers at her. Camille lost her filter somewhere in life and never bothered to replace it.

“Paige dear, my James is still as insatiable as he was when I meet him at nineteen. I don’t expect much less from my sons. You’re a very beautiful woman and that little number you were wearing last night had poor Bobby drooling on himself and looking starved for more than a meal,” Minnie teased.

“Oh my,” Paige gasped and put her head in her hands.

Camille roared with laughter. The others join in with giggles at Paige’s horrified reaction. Minnie stood and moved to take the seat next to Paige. She place a hand on Paige’s back and rubbed soothing circles on it.

“Paige, are you really embarrassed,” Minnie chortled.

“You have no idea,” Paige muttered.

“She is still a prude, Minnie. I’m hoping your son can help her with that,” Camille said as she gasped for air from laughing.

“Please stop, Cam,” Paige huffed.

“You spoil all my fun,” Camille pouted.

“Well as long as I have known Bobby I have never seen him look at anyone the way he looks at you,” Ellen said warmly.

“When a Mairettie man truly loves a woman it’s a forever type of love,” Minnie beamed.

Aw
,” Julia cooed.

“And Mairettie man being amazing in bed is just a bonus.” Ellen chuckled as she watched Paige’s face.

“Oh my gosh,” Paige started to laugh with the rest of them as well. “This is like a bad nightmare.”

“Hey Nat,” Camille chirped causing everyone to turn in his direction.

“Hey ladies,” Nate replied with a tight grin.

“Is everything okay,” Paige asked anxiously. Nathan didn’t look or sound like himself.

“Actually, would you mind walking with me for a bit,” Nathan asked as he shoved his hands in his pockets.

“Sure,” Paige said putting the bridal magazines in her lap on the table and standing to follow Nathan out.

Nathan held the side door open for Paige as she stepped out into the warm sun. She was sure her face, legs and arms would have a nice glow from the sun. She was in a white sleeveless button down and white short shorts. She wanted to look nice when Bobby returned.

“Sorry about this but I usually dump this type of thing on Bobby and his not so available right now. I need to get this off my chest,” Nathan said impishly.

“It’s fine, that’s what friends are for,” Paige smiled up at him. “What’s going on?”

Nathan sighed and drew his palm down him face. “It’s my sister. Bobby knows how she can be,” Nathan sighed. “I want to be there for her, but I just don’t understand her anymore.”

“Well maybe if you tell me what has happened we can come up with something together,” Paige offered as she took a seat in the sand and removed her flat sandals to let the water lap at her feet.

Nathan sat beside her and removed his shoes as well. “Remember I told you I was going to leave a few days early to go to Italy,” Nathan asked as he looked out at the water.

Paige nodded as she wiggled her toes in the water and watched the side of Nathan’s face. Whatever was going on was really bothering him. Paige could see the stress in the set of his mouth and around the usually smooth skin around his eyes.

“Well I was going there for my sister’s wedding. She went to boarding school for a few years and met this guy there. They kept in touch after she left and when she moved to Europe somehow they hooked up and the next thing she was calling home to tell everyone she was getting married,” Nathan sighed and shook his head.

“Is he not a nice guy,” Paige asked.

“He’s not a bad guy. I just always knew something was up. He’s a race car driver over there and a trust fund kid. He’s never treated Rita bad or anything…it’s just,” Nathan sighed and winced. “I think she’s his beard.”

Paige burst out laughing and doubled over. Nathan turned to her and frowned. Paige immediately cut off her laughter and gesture to her mouth with an imaginary lock and key. Nathan playfully shoved her shoulder and let out his own little laugh.

“So you don’t want her to marry him because you have a feeling he’s gay?” Paige tried hard not to laugh.

“No, that just it, she called today. She is calling off the wedding less than two weeks before. I mean I’m happy if she is happy and I was willing to go along with them getting married if that was what she wanted, but now, she just called the whole thing off and she sounds so unhappy. She swears it isn’t Anton’s fault and that they are still friends but something isn’t right,” Nathan pinched the bridge of his nose like he could squeeze out the answer.

“Well maybe she started to see the signs you were seeing all along,” Paige mused.

“Paige, a blind cat with no ears could see Anton is not playing for my team,” Nathan snorted. “Rita did her best to keep him away from me and dad. I think she has always known.

“She’s just so stubborn. She reminds me a lot of you. I guess that’s why I like you so much. It’s like getting to spend time with my sister. You know Bobby helped me a lot with her when we were younger. The Mairetties are more like family to us then friends.

“I think that’s another thing that is bothering me. She refused to invite any of them to the wedding, not even Bobby. They’re all pretending it doesn’t bother them but I see it in their faces, especially Minnie’s.”

“So why don’t you go to her. Maybe you can get answers in person?”

“It’s not that simple. I have responsibilities here and she took a few weeks from her responsibilities because of the wedding. She said she’s going to take off for Greece for a few weeks to figure some things out,” Nathan blew out a deep breath and ran his hands over his low cropped waves.

“So let her figure things out. She will come to you when she is ready and she needs you. You know how I know,” Paige reached to touch the side of Nathan’s face, “Because if I were ever in trouble and needed a big brother to run to, you would be the first one that comes to mind.”

“Well, don’t go telling Bobby that, he may try to kick my ass,” Nathan chuckled.

“Well, let’s hope he doesn’t break my heart and send me running into your arm,” Paige smiled.

“Trust me, Bobby would never do anything to hurt you. Besides if he did then I would kick his ass.” Nathan pulled Paige to his side and tucked her under his arm. He kissed the top of her head as they looked out at the ocean. “Thanks Paige, this means a lot to me.”

“No problem Nathan, I owed you one.”

“For?”

“Making me see I was making a mess with Bobby,” Paige replied.

“Sounds more like Bobby owes me, remind me to collect,” Nathan laughed.

Nathan and Paige sat for hours while Nathan told her stories about his family and the crazy things he and Bobby used to do. Paige laughed and listened feeling reassured with the knowledge that this was taking his mind off his worries.
