Pam giggled, “You’re so bad Nate. I didn’t even get to say bye to anyone.”

Nate scooped her up in his arms. “Trust me, each one of those ladies are about to go home and take care of their man. You just happen to be lucky enough to do it now and not later.”

“Whatever, Hulk,” Pam teased.

“I’m gonna show you a Hulk, Tinker Bell. Believe me,” Nate rasped.

It had been another long and trying day. Once Nate felt he was closer to a solution for the chaos in his life he wanted nothing more than to get home to his woman and let her know once and for all how he really felt about her.

Things were starting to relax with the whole Luca situation. Uri had indeed handled the matter. Nate knew for a fact that Uri had left for Chicago and taken Luca with him for a few months.

By the time Luca returned to New York he would have met his soon to be wife. Not that that would stop him from wanting Pam but it would make it that much harder for him to try to come after her if he decided to disregard his cousin.

“Oh Baby,” Pam gasped as Nate kissed his way across her shoulder as he released the zipper on the back of her dress. He loved the sky blue fabric against her mocha skin. The dress was a soft fabric that stretched and gathered in soft ruching in the midsection.

“Understand I’m nothing without you, Pamela,” Nate whispered in her ear before nibbling at her lobe. “I’m asking you to trust that I’m doing everything I do for us. For you,” he kissed her temple then turned her to peel the dress from her shoulders and let it drop to the floor. “For our daughters,” he kissed her swollen belly, smiling when his daughters responded to his voice and touch.

“I’ve got you Baby, I promise,” Nate said against her lips as he stood once a again and sealed his lips to hers.

“Okay Nate, okay,” Pam nodded she honestly needed to trust him. Pam knew that deep down inside she gave him so much crap because she was just scared. Everything was just too easy and too good to be true. Luca had taught her that too good and too easy were a recipe for disaster.

“Good Baby, because you may not be ready to say you love me, but I want you to know I love you without question, without a doubt, without pause,” Nate said lifting her naked body into his arms. He had stripped her bra and panties from her as he kissed her into submission to his love.

Pamela allowed her heart to fill with the possibilities her future held. Nate only wanted her happy. She could see that in the many calls and text throughout the day. The random deliveries to her work sites. The after work bubble baths and messages. The simple kisses he would rain all over her face after sitting and watching her for moments on end. Luca never did any of those things and it was time she stopped punishing Nate for Luca.

If she were honest with herself she would admit that both the Briggs and Mairettie families seemed to have inside secrets. She’d observed them all enough to know it, so it wasn’t as if Nate was just singling her out to hold some big secret from.

Placing Pam in the center of the bed Nate kissed a trail down the center of her body slowly. He had already stripped out of his own clothes so Pam propped up on her elbows to enjoy the view. The moonlight filtering in through the blinds places an ethereal glow against his skin causing him to look like the chocolate God that he is.

Pam groaned at just the sight of his broad shoulders as his muscles flexed with his panther like movements as he made his way down her body. He stopped at her belly button and placed his hands on the outsides of her belly. His tongue dipped into her belly button then came out to circle it and dipped in once more. Pam arched her back pushing her breasts forward. Nate took the invitation and sucked a diamond hard nipple into his mouth.

When his tongue flickered against the sensitive peek Pam cried out and cupped the back of his head with both hands to keep his mouth on her. Nate pulled her breast deeper into his mouth sucking hard. Pam could feel herself becoming more than wet for him.

Nate released her breast and made his way back down to his original destination. Pam spread her legs wider to give him better access and Nate’s head disappeared behind her swollen belly. She was now guided by his groans of pleasure and the feel of his mouth on her swollen wet flesh.

His tongue lapped at her center like she was the sweetest treat his mouth ever tasted. Nate growled into her pussy as she started to gush for him. The vibration hummed through her body and up her spine causing her elbows to give as she fell back weakly.

“Oh Nate baby, that is so good,” Pam moaned. “I’m so close.”

To her surprise and frustration Nate pulled away. With a surprised yelp Pam found herself flipped over in Nate’s gentle but steady grasp. He pulled her to her knees before slipping into her wetness inch by slow inch until she was so full she felt stuffed to the brim.

Pam clutched the sheets and groaned loudly. Nate kissed and nipped her shoulder and then grasped a hand full of her hair as he started to drive in and out of her slick folds. It was so good Pam had to blink a few times before she realized she was in mid drool and wiped a hand across her lip.

Nate took the hand resting on her hip and reached to knead her breast. Pamela felt herself becoming increasingly slick around his cock. Her folds were squeezing tightly around Nate pulling a series of grunts from his throat.

“I love this pussy,” Nate growled. His eyes were trained on his long thick rod moving in and out of Pam’s tight body as her juices coated him more and more with each push and pull. It was a sight that was driving him crazy and the fluttering of her walls against him was rushing him to the edge sooner than he wanted to get there.

Remembering his promise to make love to her tonight and wanting to prolong his impending orgasm he pulled out. Turning onto his back he guided Pam to straddle his hips, sinking down on him nice and slow. Nate grabbed hold of her hips and moved her to the slow grind of his own. Pam’s lids fluttered closed and her head tipped to the side.

Nate relished in the slow sigh that escaped her lips. He loved seeing her belly swollen and her breasts bouncing as he took her from beneath. Sliding a hand to her ass he squeezed hard knowing it was what she needed to send her over into pure bliss. Pam’s head rolled back and she screamed with raw emotion and feeling. His name rolled off her tongue like a prayer as he held her in place and continued to thrust up into her with strong controlled thrusts.

“I …I …Oh God I lo-,” Pam stuttered.

Nate cut her off with his mouth plundering her mouth with his tongue. “Oh no, you don’t get to say it now, Baby. Not while you’re riding my dick. First time those words come out those pretty lips for me you won’t be drunk off my dick,” Nate growled in her mouth.

“Nate baby, I can’t take much more,” Pam whimpered.

“You can and you will,” Nate demanded with a grin. Lifting Pam he placed her on her side and entered her from behind pulling her leg up over his.

He locked his fingers with hers and placed their joined hands on her belly. His thumb gently rubbed back and forth over her tight flesh. His lips went to her neck and he sucked on the sensitive skin.

“Ah Baby,” Nate rasped in a deep husky voice. “I love you, Pam. Come with me Baby, now.”

It was all the command that she needed. They both cried out together as his hot thick seed coated her insides with each pulse of his hard member. Pam fell limp in his arms as her lids became too heavy to peel open.

Pam didn’t know how long went by before her eyes opened and Nate’s steady breathing filled the room telling her he had fallen asleep. She snuggled back into his chest and reveled in his warmth.

“I love you too, Nate, with everything I am,” Pam whispered into the dark and fell back to sleep.

Chapter Seventeen

O
nce I close this one last deal I will be around a lot more, Baby. I promise,” Nate said to Pam as he held her in his arms.

He was going to miss her like crazy over the next two weeks but if they were going to make a move it had to be now. Wyatt Black was taking point on this mission along with Nate. Three of the other seven Black brothers would be joining them as well as Jasper, Thomas and some cousins Uncle Earl had called in for the job.

Things had to go without a hitch in order for this to stay away from their front doors. Leaving Pam for so long had his stomach in knots and it didn’t help that this mission made him a bit uneasy. Toby Black was known to be a handful. If he lived up to his reputation on this trip it could put them all in danger.

Nate didn’t want more blood on his hands then was necessary. If things went wrong Nathan knew he was not leaving this mission without exterminating every single threat and loose end. Nate also had reason to believe something else was off.

He wasn’t sure if it was related to Luca or not but his team kept reporting some woman that Pam was having lunch dates with. He thought nothing of it at first but when the reports had the woman also coming to the house he became suspicious. The reports said she would get into a red Audi after all her visits and drive off.

What really raised his hackles were the last three reports that said she didn’t drive off but went into the brownstone next door instead. Nate had noticed the for sale sign disappear weeks ago but no one had ever moved in according to his team. When they looked up public records to see who the owner was it was listed as a private sale. Justin did a little more digging and found the owner was a Lexington Corp.

It all didn’t sit well with Nate and being that Pamela had no idea he was having her watched he couldn’t just come out and ask her who the woman was, but he was going to ask.

“I hope so because I’m going to miss you,” Pam purred as she snuggled into his chest.

Pam didn’t have the energy to fight with Nate anymore nor did she want to. Sure she still had questions about somethings that just didn’t add up but she wasn’t going to make herself crazy about it. Nate had been doing everything he could to prove his love for her and for now that would be enough.

He promised her more than once that things were changing in his business and he would be able to be more of a family man. He’d even asked her to move in to the Briggs compound when he returned. She’d wondered at first if he just wanted to live closer to Bobby, but in the end she felt it would work out for the best if Nate lived closer to his lawyer and friend.

At least they could work from home on occasion and she wouldn’t feel like her man was out all times of the night. Things had gotten better all ready. Instead of Nate going to charity functions and benefits without Pam he had started to take her along. They would double date with Paige and Bobby.

At one point she thought he might have been ashamed of her. Paige would tell her about the events she hadn’t been invited to and she would silently stew about it, not knowing that they were really work functions for Nate. He didn’t want to risk her safety or be distracted by protecting her and not Bobby and Paige.

“You know I would feel better if you went to stay with my sister and Marcus or Paige and Bobby,” Nate tried for the millionth time.

“Nope, I will not intrude on either married couple. For the millionth time I’ll be fine,” Pam sighed. “Please Nate, stop worrying about me. I’ll be fine, the babies will be fine.”

Nate pressed his lips and stared down at her for a beat before relenting. “Fine, but if you need anything and I mean anything call Bobby first. If you can’t get him call Marcus. My father will be traveling with me but Uncle Earl will be around. He will be checking in on you every other day while I’m gone,” Nate said firmly.

“I didn’t need a babysitter, Nate. Leave your poor Uncle alone,” Pam fussed.

“Poor Uncle my ass,” Nate muttered and snorted. “Uncle Earl insisted on this himself when he heard I’d be leaving my pregnant woman to go out of town on business.”

Pam sighed and shook her head. “Well I love your uncle so I won’t complain to be in his company,” Pam smiled up at Nate.

“Good, do you have any other plans while I’ll be away,” Nate took that moment to see if Pam’s new friend would come up.

“Actually, our neighbor asked me to do some shopping with her this week. Other than that I may hang out with the girls,” Pam Shrugged.

Nate raised his brow. “Our neighbor,” he said in question.

“Oh right, you haven’t met her I don’t think. She was supposed to come to the shower, but she had something come up. She’s really nice, but I think she is a bit lonely. We’ve had lunch a few times,” Pam paused and her brows puckered in thought. “Her pregnancy doesn’t seem to be going well though. I feel bad for her. I mean I’m huge and she is a month further than me, but she hasn’t started to show much. She always looks so sad when she looks at my belly.”

“Pam baby, what do you know about this woman?”

Pam shrugged. “Her boyfriend bought her condo and she said he pretty much takes care of her. Other than that, not much else I guess.”

“Pam, you realize that you’re dating and having the daughters of a billionaire. You can’t just befriend anyone. You have to be more careful, Baby. What’s this woman’s name,” Nate asked.

Pam was pouting and getting ready to answer when Nate’s phone rang. He looked at the screen and sighed. He held up his hand to pause her answer. Once off the phone his question was forgotten in his own frustration.

“I have to go,” Nate said gruffly kissing Pam’s forehead then pulling her in for a long deep kiss that told her how much he would miss her.

“Hulk,” Pam called to Nate’s back as he walked out the door.

“Yeah, Tinker Bell,” Nate answered with a smirk.

“Come back to me as soon as you can,” Pam gave him a sweet smile that warmed his heart.

“You know I will,” he promised and was gone.

“You know you never talk about the babies’ father,” Vanessa said as she sipped the glass of water Pam just handed to her.

They’d returned to Pam’s after doing some shopping. Pam had noticed Vanessa never purchased any of the baby things she had been looking at. She’d been curious about the woman’s pregnancy but she didn’t want to pry in case it was now a sore topic. Pam knew all too well what it was like to go through a loss and have to deal with people’s questions after.

“Well then that makes two of us. Besides, I was raised to believe that I woman doesn’t advertise her man to other women,” Pam shrugged but kept a smile on her face to soften the blow.

“Oh come on Pam, I have come to see you as a friend. I think at this point we can open up to each other,” Vanessa said with her big smile.

Pam could see pass the smile though. Vanessa seemed nervous and a bit eager to talk. These little shopping dates and lunches had all been by Vanessa’s invitation. Pam still had a feeling there was something about this woman she couldn’t put her finger on. Nate’s voice had been in the back of her head all this afternoon.

Now that Vanessa was asking about him she bristled a little. She really wasn’t into singing her man’s praise to women outside of her family and small circle, but something else was holding her back. Vanessa noticed her reluctance and tried another way.

“I don’t mean to pry,” Vanessa said sadly. “It’s just I have been going through somethings and I thought if I asked about you and your boyfriend than I could open the door to be able to talk to you,” Vanessa shrugged and smoothed her hair down.

“Well in that case you are welcome to talk Vanessa. I’m here as a friend if you need a shoulder,” Pam said with a warm smile.

That didn’t work quite the way Vanessa hoped but a part of her longed for a friend she could share her burdens with. Instead of getting the information she was looking for she ended up spilling her heart out to this woman she had to come to care for as a friend. She knew it was wrong. She was never supposed to find friendship here, only freedom.

“I met my husband when I was seventeen. He was this wealthy man that came in and swept me off my feet. At first I thought he was the best thing on earth. Here he was this man fifteen years older than me, rich, successful and he was interested in me,” she gave a bitter laugh.

“If only I knew then what I know now. He turned into a monster. He has abused me in every way he knows how and then some. It took me six years to figure out sex wasn’t supposed to be torture and I didn’t find that out from my husband.

“I…I found a way to find pleasure without my husband finding out. Patrick was not the baby’s father,” tears gather in her eyes and her words were cut off by the lump in her throat. “He can’t have children. I guess losing the baby was for the best….”

“Oh Vanessa I’m so sorry,” Pam said with true sympathy.

“You are lucky to be having your baby with someone who loves you. Someone you love,” Vanessa sniffled.

“Yeah, I am,” Pam said thoughtfully. She still hadn’t told Nate she loved him. Now sitting here talking to Vanessa she certainly planned to. “I’m really lucky.”

“Is he excited about the twins,” Vanessa asked hopefully.

Pam sighed then nodded her head. “Yeah, he is very excited. We both are.”

“Correct me if I’m wrong but Nathaniel Briggs is your boyfriend, right,” Vanessa asked and bit her lip.

Pam shifted uncomfortably in her seat. Vanessa was pushing it and she was about to let her know that. Vanessa could see she had just stepped a little too far.

“You know what,” Vanessa said and stood from her seat. “I think I better go. I have an appointment I should be getting to.”

“Okay, well I had fun. I will see you around,” Pam offered.

“Sure, we should do this again soon,” Vanessa said and bit her lip. “You know when our man can come join us.”

With that Vanessa made a swift exit. Pam was left standing with a confused look on her face. Vanessa’s last words were off. Not to mention the story of her husband, and was she not pregnant? Vanessa had been in the doctor’s office the last time Pam had an appointment. She had been leaving out when Pam came in. Nate had actually just missed her.

They hadn’t ridden to the office together because Nate had a meeting and Pam had a shoot she was styling right before. Pam had been surprised to see Vanessa. Now that she thought about it Vanessa had actually asked her to lunch the day before. Pam had told her that she had an appointment and couldn’t make it.

Pam frowned. Maybe Nate was right. She would definitely be watching Vanessa more and pulling away from the relationship as well. Pam decided to trust her instincts on this one. Even her sister didn’t like Vanessa and Paige was spot on when she smelled something funny.
