Dominique Manotti is a professor of nineteenth-century economic history in Paris. She is the author of a number of novels including

(winner of the French Crime Writers Association Award) and

both published in English by Arcadia Books.

was shortlisted for the 2006 Duncan Lawrie International Dagger Award.

 

Ros Schwartz dropped out of university and ran away to Paris in the early seventies. Since 1981 she has translated a wide range of fiction and non-fiction from the French, including novels by Aziz Chouaki, Fatou Diome, Jacqueline Harpman, Sébastien Japrisot, Yasmina Khadra and Dominique Manotti, as well as political scientists Thérèse Delpech and Olivier Roy. She regularly publishes articles and gives workshops and talks on the art of translation.

 

Amanda Hopkinson is Director of the British Centre for Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia. She is a literary translator from Spanish, French and Portuguese, most recently of
Malvinas
Requiem
by the Argentine writer, Rodolfo Fogwill and
Dead
Horsemeat
by French novelist Dominique Manotti. She also writes books on Latin American photography, including recent monographs on the Mexican Manuel Alvarez Bravo and the Amerindian Peruvian photographer Martin Chambi.
