I love
the feel of her body against my hands. I’ve missed that. I take the time to
become reacquainted with her form, outlining her as she lovingly kisses my
lips. She inches her hips forward, inviting me to enter her, and I greatly
oblige. As she lies on her back, I encase her in my arms and slowly, I sink
deep into her.

“God.
I miss you so much.”

“I
miss you too,” she whispers, circling my face between her hands and kissing me.

I look
down at her; the tendrils of her hair create a fan across the white sheets, and
her hazel eyes are filled with deep emotion, and more so, love. I’ve loved Jada
McLean in a way I have no other, and I don’t know if any words could express
the depth of my feelings.

I
enclose her in my arms and attempt to show her, kissing her softly while slowly
moving inside her. She trails maddening kisses down my neck. After all these
months apart, it won’t take much for her to push me over the edge. The sight of
her coming almost did, but I managed to hold back. Now, her warmth surrounds
me, she kisses me intensely, and she sweetly caresses me. I restrain myself.

I roll
onto my back, and before I can make my next move, she straddles me. Absorbing
all of me, taking me all in. I sit up, embracing her in my arms as we move in
unison with each other, kissing each other, hugging each other, loving each
other. My groans grow deeper and longer, and I know I’m nearing the end.

I flip
her over, placing her on her back, and massage her with my tip. Slowly, I
reenter her, and her already swollen parts latch onto me as I repeatedly bury
myself inside her.

She
circles her fingers above her, ensuring she rubs past me. The intense pleasure
reverberates within me. Milling myself into her, she thrusts her hips to meet
mine. I clasp one of my hands with hers, kissing her fervently as I rotate
myself inside her, plummeting my body into hers. I’m close. I move hard above
her and she screams out.

“Oh
God, yes!”

I
quicken the pace inside her, circling inside her. Boring myself into her. My breathing
grows heavier, my hold on her grows tighter, and I know she too is close to her
peak.

“Oh,
Jada.”

“Johnny,
I’m close… I’m close.”

I
thrust harder, her rubbing is faster, and our breathing is heavier.

“Oh God.
Johnny, I’m coming,” she screams. I clasp my hands tightly in hers.

“Jada…”
I spasm inside her, and we both come to our sweet and utter release.

She
gazes into my eyes then she lightly kisses me.

“I
love you.”

“I
love you too, Jada McLean. Marry me?”

Epilogue

We’ve come a long way from that
September morning when I first set my eyes on Jada McLean at Dad’s resort in
Lake Tahoe. Two years later, many relationships have ended, new ones began, and
many people have gone to prison.

This one murder and subsequent extortion
scam revealed a corrupt police force that started from the top and went all the
way to the bottom. I shudder to think what would have happened to Jada that
night when she got that very first phone call. I wonder if she would still be
alive, had I called the Chief of Police.

He and Senator Rice were on Rossellini’s
payroll for five years prior to their arrest, Richard for the last ten. The two
were sentenced to twenty years in prison for aiding and abetting and
conspiracy.

It so happened that the code in that
email Jada received was a cleaver code to the Chief of Police’s home address.

Considering that Richard was shot in the
back of the head sitting in front his computer at his desk, we can only assume that
he was trying to tell Jada something or give her some clue and was shot in the
middle of the process.

Chris Hostin was sentenced to twenty
years in prison for assault with a deadly weapon, harassment, vandalism, and
burglary. DNA and camera evidence proved that he was responsible for slashing
the tires on my car and ramming into Jada’s car.

While the FBI weren’t able to prove that
he was responsible for following Jada and attempting to break into her house at
Lake Tahoe, they were able to prove he was there at the time. That circumstantial
evidence coupled with the rest of the physical evidence was enough for a jury
to believe he was guilty of this crime.

It so happened that the brothers that
kidnapped Jada were the very ones that executed Richard. Further investigations
revealed that the one that was alive and helped take down Rossellini was lying
to the FBI. He knew exactly whom he was working for. Nevertheless, he still
paid for his crimes and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility
of parole.

The blood evidence that came off the
door at my house after the first break-in came from his dead brother. We were
never able to figure out why he was there that night.

Which leaves Sophie… Because of Jada’s
plea to the judge, she was sentenced to community service and a fine. I wanted
her to do at least a few months of jail time, but for whatever reason, Jada
felt she had learned her lesson.

She admitted later on that she had
deeper feelings for me that I was never aware of. When she saw Jada and I
together, she saw her as a threat. Jada was right; our little trysts meant so
much more to her than they did to me. If I had known, I would have never gotten
involved with her that way. She did apologize to both of us, but I never spoke
to her again.

Wendy was indeed the one who leaked
photos of Jada and me to the press. When internal emails between her and her
boss revealed that her company was behind it, I hit them with a lawsuit so hard
they had no idea what hit them.

As for Wendy, after that incident, she
learned her lesson. She left the industry. I’m told she’s now a flight
attendant with one of the major airlines.

Phillip and Douglas moved on to another
case in another state. We have no idea where they are. However, we will always
be indebted to them for their hard work on our case.

I will forever be grateful to Phillip
for his friendship while I was under witness protection. Every once in a while,
we get a surprise phone call or visit from him, but once he becomes a Special
Agent, he being a phone call away will be nonexistent.

The firm is back on track—it took some
doing, though.

The rest of our families are doing well.
Mom has fully recovered from her surgery. She was angry with me for a while
after my return, but she eventually came around.

Soon after my return, we attended Bobby
and Val’s grandiose wedding in Miami, where I met some of Jada’s family.

As for Jada and me… Three months after
being reunited, we spent Christmas with her mom and family at her childhood
home on the island of St. Lucia.

Six months later, we returned to the
island with my family and hers, and we were wed in a small ceremony at sunset
overlooking the Pitons. She was right—it was amazing. Definitely one of those
things to see before you die.

She still amazes me. When we returned
from our honeymoon, we went to visit Koto. She had already given birth to her baby
boy. Jada said he was the splitting image of Richard. She forgave Koto but
never wanted her in her life again. It’s something she said she needed to do
for her own healing. She taught me a lesson in forgiveness.

Jada now spends her mornings at the
center, and her afternoons at her office. She’s managed to strike a nice
balance between her philanthropic duties, her business, and being an awesome
wife.

We managed to find a rare lot of land at
Seacliff in San Francisco. Together, we designed and built our dream home. It
was completed just in time for our second Christmas together.

It looks like we’ve finally settled into
a normal life, doing normal things, something that was completely absent during
the first ninety percent of our relationship. Normal is something we’ve come to
greatly embrace and enjoy in our new life together.

As I stare at the photo of us together,
a gentle knock on my office door interrupts my pleasant thoughts. I look up,
and to my surprise, she stares my way.

“Hey. Busy? May I come in?”

“You know I’m never too busy for you,” I
reply, pulling her to sit in my lap. She kisses me gently on my lips then wraps
her arms snuggly around my neck. I’m happy she’s here, but it’s been a really
long time since she’s been in this office.

“Babe, you okay?”

She pulls away, and tears stream down
her face.

Explosions go off in my chest.

“Jada, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” She smiles through her tears.
“I just found out we’re pregnant.”

After months of doctor visits and trying
with no luck, I’d almost given up. Now, I’m shocked.

“We’re pregnant?”

“Yep.”

I place my hand on her stomach.

“You’re sure?”

“I just left the doctor. It’s official…
you’re going to be a daddy.”

“I can’t believe it.”

“I’m so happy…”

“Me too. I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Two-hundred-and-seventeen
days later, Jordan Charles Kole was
born. We named him after both of our amazing dads.
