Love Story for a Snow Princess (Siren Publishing Classic) (15 page)

She wound her arms around his neck and he rolled her until she was under him though they were still joined. She shifted her legs open, wrapping them around his hips as he settled more fully inside her. He kissed her tenderly on the lips, on the cheeks, on her eyelids and nose. As he surged forward, he brought his cheek to rest against hers. In and out he moved, building the emotion and tension from the ground up. He kept close to her, breath to breath, chest to chest. When he moved she moved with him. They were one body, one soul, one moment merged together.

And in that special moment all ugliness ceased to be. He opened his eyes and their gazes locked, and all she could do was show him her love, the love that would banish the darkness that had held him for so long. He stilled and then she saw the last small bit of wall crumble, saw how he allowed her healing power to wash over him, cleanse him, and destroy the last bit of hesitation that held power over him.

“I love you,” she whispered into his ear.

And she knew that from the very depths of his being, he let the love rise up and break through to banish everything dark and negative that had festered for so long. Weightless, breathless, he bowed his head, his lips finding hers, as everything inside him tightened before bursting forth. He pumped her hard, finally breaking the kiss to cry out in joy as his orgasm crashed through him like a hurricane. Her own release followed, her pussy walls clamped against him, once again milking him, until they both collapsed together, spent.

Epilogue

Thea watched as the last student bundled herself up and headed outside to meet her mother. Schools ran a little differently in River Ice since there were so few children. Thea taught Kindergarten and First Grade in a large classroom where the Kinders sat on one side and the six-year-olds were on the other. It was slightly hectic at times, but she didn’t mind. It made teaching interesting.

She had accepted the teaching position not long after moving permanently to River Ice, first having to take her teaching test to get her license and settling everything in Malibu. She still helped Miki out whenever she could, mainly when Paden was working against a deadline and needed no distractions.

The overhead light illuminated the sparkle in her ring and lit it up. Thea caught herself several times a day looking at her ring in awe, loving it. She and Paden were planning to have the wedding in the summer, when school ended. Paden’s parents were already planning their first trip to Alaska as well as giving them a lavish honeymoon on a private yacht to China.

Thea turned out the lights in the classroom and headed down the hallway to the office to collect her things. There were a dozen people leaving for the night, including the principal. Thea nodded and waved and walked to her four-wheeler, which was a lot more practical in the winter slush than a truck. She zoomed quickly through the darkened streets to her home with Paden.

He was working when she let herself in, closing the door softly before shucking her winter gear. She hung them on the appropriate hooks before heading over to the blazing fireplace. The front room was bare no longer. They had added throw rugs, an oversized couch, two recliner seats, a coffee table plus the remains of a half-undecorated Christmas tree. Every night she went to finish taking off the ornaments only to have Paden scoop her up and kiss her until she was breathless.

“Is that you?” he called out.

“Yes. You almost done for the day?”

He appeared at the top of the stairs. “Not almost.” He cracked his knuckles then stretched. “Eight hours bent over the drafting table is too long, but I finished.”

He hurried downstairs and took her in his arms. A long, lingering kiss followed. “I missed you.”

“You did not,” she teased. “You probably didn’t even know I was gone.”

“Of course I did,” he challenged back. “I had to make my own lunch.”

She laughed and wound her arms around his neck. “I’m hungry.”

“I think we have some steak.”

“Oh yeah? Tube steak?”

He groaned at the pun. “Get your mind out of the bedroom. I meant that Miki sent us some caribou.”

“Mmm. Caribou.”

“How about it?”

“I think I’ll go with tube steak.”

“Oh yeah?”

She smiled. “Positive.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I am a full-time writer and stay at home mom which means I watch a lot of animated films. Over and over and over again. I hate washing dishes but I love cooking. I hate washing clothes but I love wearing them. I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters, ones who are full of angst but where love redeems them. I push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box. Music inspires me as do the boats and arguing seals in the marina where I live. I hate people who don't pick up their dog's crap in public places and I really hate people who are rude and condescending. I especially hate discrimination in all and every form. The perfect birthday presents are gift certificates to bookstores. And I love to hear from readers. I’m really easy to find on Facebook or Twitter.
