Subconsciously, True touched her hair and lips. “I need to see how I look.”

Ms. Pinson didn’t need anymore-bad ideas about her. She tried to hide it well, but she knew the housekeeper didn’t like her.

Hayward
brushed her hair back and cupped her face in his hands, “You look like a woman in love.” Winking at her, he linked their fingers together and dragged her from the bedroom. “Let’s go downstairs and see what kind of trouble we can get into.

Cuddled up on the couch a few minutes later, with her hands wrapped around a cup of hot chocolate, True ran her wildlife sight-seeing idea past Hayward. “Let’s go view some wildlife.”

Ocean blue eyes flew up from the business weekly magazine shocked. “What in the world are you talking about?”

“I had picked up a vacation guide about three weeks ago so I could plan things for
Jenisha
and me to do while she was here.” True said excitedly. “One of the suggestions was to do some wildlife viewing and since I wasn’t able to do it with her. I want to do it with you.”

Sitting the hot chocolate on the table, she moved closer to him, because the look on his face didn’t look to good. Was he going to turn her down too?

Maybe she had to sell the idea a little more to him to make him say yes.

“Do you know you can see Antelope, Elk, Moose, and maybe a Mountain Lion?

Come on, baby I think it will be a lot of fun. We haven’t really done anything as a couple.”

“Kitten, I love you so much, but I don’t think I want to do this.”
Hayward
answered tossing his magazine on the table in front of him. “Can’t you get dressed up and I take you out to a nice restaurant or something?”

Hayward
, we aren’t supposed to get up close to the animals.” True queried, trying one last time to convince him to say yes. “We’re supposed to keep a safe distance and use field binoculars. Do you have any of those?”

“I think I might have a pair.”
Hayward
sighed. “But I’m still not sure about this plan of yours.”

Hayward
wasn’t about to say yes, unless she used her last trick in the bag and it better work or she was in trouble. “Please can we do this?” She asked, placing her hand on his knee. Her lids slipped down over her eyes hiding the hurt she felt at his stubborn refusal to consider her suggestion. Why did she have to do everything he wanted, but it didn’t work both ways?

Removing her hand she lay in by her side and waited for his answer.

Coldness settled over his body, the instant True removed her hand from his leg and slid back across the couch.
Hayward
studied her thoroughly, and he noticed she wasn’t looking at him. The loneliness he felt was earth shattering.

“Okay I’ll go with you.”

Screaming True jumped off the couch and flung her arms around his neck. “What time do you want to go tomorrow?”

“It all depends on how tired I’m in the morning. Remember this is the first night of your sleep-over.” He growled, licking his lips. A devilish smile formed on his lips as his wiggled his eyebrows at her.

“I better go home and get my bags packed. Are you sure you want to be bothered with me until next week?” True teased, removing her arms from around his neck.

“Kitten, you can stay here as long as you want. My home is your home. I want you to understand that.”

A smile spread across her face lighting up her dark brown eyes. “Well, that’s good to hear,” True replied moving away from
Hayward
. She hurried toward the front door.

“I’ll be back in an hour.” Opening the door, she went out, closing it behind her.

Chapter Nineteen

Throwing an empty suitcase on the bed, True opened her closet and searched through it for her most appealing clothes to wear for her sleepover. Grabbing a variety of items, she carried them to the bed and placed them inside her suitcase. She also grabbed some personal items from the bathroom and tossed them in as well. Stopping in the middle of the room, she looked around making sure she had everything with her. She closed her bedroom door and went downstairs.

Once downstairs, True locked all the doors and checked all the windows. She didn’t want any unwanted visitors in her home. After setting the alarm, True picked up her bags and closed the front door with a snap. The short walk over to
Hayward
’s gave her time to think about her weekend with him.
Was she doing the right thing?

No, she wasn’t going to doubt that was going to be the best six days of her life.
Hayward
would treat her like a queen.

When she came around the corner of her house, she spotted
Hayward
standing at his front door waiting for her. “I never thought you would get back,” he commented.

“I had to secure my home first,” True replied.

“Stay right there.”
Hayward
took her overnight case out of hand. He went inside the house and sat it by the couch.

Coming back outside, he swept her into
he
arms and carried her back inside, kicking the door shut with his foot.

Hayward
. What in the world are you doing?” True gasped as she put her arms around his neck.

“I’m welcoming you into my home.”

Home
.
How good that word sounded to
Hayward
’s ears. True fit into his world like she was the missing piece he had been searching for all his life. She was the corner piece to the jigsaw puzzle, that he called his life. No matter how hard he looked for that corner piece, he could never find it until now. Once found, he wasn’t about to let it go.

“I think I could get use to you spoiling me like this.”

“Kitten, if you allow me I’ll spoil you for the rest of your life.”
Hayward
whispered, gazing down into her eyes.

“Please put me down.” She replied.

Hayward
slid her down his powerful body and brushed her hair off her forehead. “Did I say something wrong?”

He asked; his forehead creased with frown lines.

As she moved away from him, True went to stand in front of the window. She stared out but she really didn’t see a thing.

She hated the insecurity that lingered because of
Dalton
. Before him, she was confident, strong, and very secure in every aspect of her life.

“True, what’s the problem?”
Hayward
whispered, wrapping his arms around her waist. She heard the concern in his deep voice and it warmed her heart. “Whatever it is, we can fix it together”

She rested her head against his chest. “I don’t want to ruin anything by planning ahead.”

Hayward
turned her around in his arms making her face him. “True, nothing will ever come between us,” he promised. “I want you to understand my love for you is forever. I think about you everyday.”

“I hope nothing ever will.” She mumbled, moving out of his arms. “Tell me what do you have planned for my first night here?” True placed her hands on her hips and looked around the room.

“Well, since I didn’t know you were coming I had planned to return a lot of business phone calls.”

Smiling she waved
Hayward
toward the den. “Go ahead return your phone calls. I can go upstairs and unpack.”

Picking up her suitcase, she walked up the staircase and was glad for this time alone so she could think.

Yelling after her,
Hayward
said. “There are some empty hangers in the closet use as many as you need.”

Inside
Hayward
’s manly bedroom, True sat her bags on the bed. “I can’t believe I’m spending six days here with him.”

Opening her suitcase she laid all her clothes out on the bed and walked over to the closet. Inside, she found more than enough clothes hangers for all of her clothes. While hanging up her clothing, she noticed what a neat person
Hayward
was.

All his clothes were color-coded and everything had its place.

Standing back she surveyed the results of her clothes mixed in with Hayward’s and liked how they looked in there, side by side. Next, it was time to put her bathroom items away when she got in the bathroom
True
noticed
Hayward
had taped a note to the mirror.

Kitten,

Take as much room as you need. What’s mine is yours.

Love,

Hayward

Taking the note off the mirror, she stuck in her jean pocket, “How could a woman not love him after a note like that.” Moving a few of his shaving supplies over to the side, she laid her lotions, make-up, and hair products on the counter, still making sure Hayward had a enough room for his toiletries.

Missing
Hayward
, True went in search of her blue-eyed hunk and found him in the den talking on the telephone. Shutting the door softly, she walked over to the desk and sat down on the edge.

Hayward
winked at her and held up one finger. “I’ve have to go.” His rich voice said ending the conversation. Hanging up the phone, he pulled her into his lap and kissed her. “Are you all moved in?”

“Yes, I have all my things hung up and stored away in the bathroom.” She answered wiping her lipstick from the corner of
Hayward
’s mouth.

“I love that you want to spend some time with me. I know we are going to have a lot of fun. Do you have any ideas what you want to do tonight?”

“I want to finish the movie date we never had last month. We can pop some popcorn and buy a movie or two.”

Truthfully, she wanted a way to curl up with him on that huge leather couch in the living room.

Sliding her off his lap,
Hayward
stood up. “We don’t have to buy any movies because I joined a DVD club last month. Over there in the cabinet are several new videos pick out anything you want.” He pointed over to the oak cabinet by a bookshelf. “I’ll go and see do we have any popcorn in the house.”

True reached out and placed her hand on
Hayward
’s arm. He glanced down at her hand then back at here face.
God, I’m so in love with this man,
she thought
.

Hayward
.”

“Yes baby?”

“I liked how you said we. It made me feel at home.”

“I’ve always thought of us as a couple even when you didn’t. Now, let me go check on the refreshments.” Placing a soft kiss on her mouth,
Hayward
winked at her then left the room.

Going over the video cabinet True opened it and found a huge selection of movies staring back at her. “Wow he’s really into movies. I know I can find something for us to look at.”

She noticed that
Hayward
had all his movies were divided into categories: Horror, suspense, action, drama and comedy. She decided on one horror and two comedies would be perfect for tonight.

Closing the stand she headed toward the living room with the selections in her hand.

Relaxing in the living room,
True
kicked off her shoes and waited for
Hayward
to come out with the refreshments. She didn’t know what could be taking him so long. Maybe he needed some help as she was about to get up off the couch.

Hayward
came through the door carrying a huge tray of food. He sat the tray on the table in front of them then fell down on the couch next to her.

“What are we going to watch?”
Hayward
asked picking up the movies. The first two were comedies ‘
Bringing down the house’
and ‘
Big Momma’s House
.’

She hoped he liked those choices because they were both hilarious movies, but the last one might surprise him and it did.

Holding it up
Hayward
raised an eyebrow in her direction. “You want to see ‘
Freddy vs. Jason’
?”

“Yeah.
I love horror movies.”

“True Williams, you are amazing. I think we are going to get along fine the next couple of days.”

“I hope so since we are going to share a bed.” She laughed.

Rising off the couch,
Hayward
stuck the horror movie inside the DVD player and rejoined her on the couch. Placing his arm around her shoulder, he pulled her tight against her body. “If you need someone to hold on to I’m here for you.”

Reaching for the popcorn bowl,
Hayward
took it off the tray and sat it in the middle of his lap. “Don’t be shy. Grab a handful of anything you want. I can promise you I won’t mind one bit.” He whispered seductively in her ear.

She wasn’t about to let
Hayward
get them off track. He wasn’t going to rush their playtime. It would happen all in due time. However, she had to give him bonus points for trying.

“I’ll be fine, honey,” she said, patting his thigh. The tight muscles flexed under her hand and she quickly snatched it back. She had forgotten how quickly his body came alive from one little touch.

Grabbing a fist full of popcorn she popped a few into her mouth while
Hayward
turned off the lights as the movie came on.

Halfway into the third movie True glanced at her watch and she was shocked by how late it was. She needed to hurry up and get ready for
Hayward
’s surprise or it’ll be too late to give it to him. Yawning, she stretched her arms above her head. “Baby, I’m getting sleepy. I think I’m going to turn in.”

Hayward
swung his head away from the television and looked at her. “I thought you were going to wear the
nightie
tonight?”

She shook her head. “I’m too tired for that tonight. How about we reschedule it for tomorrow night?”

Hayward
tired to hide his disappointment from her, but failed. “Okay, I guess I can wait until tomorrow night.”

Turning off the television, he picked up the empty cans, and grabbed the empty popcorn bowl off the table. She watched him walk toward the kitchen. Jumping up off the couch, she ran upstairs grinning to herself.

Entering
Hayward
’s bedroom True hurried to his closet, she snatched a red bag off the floor and took it into the bathroom. After placing it on the counter next to the bag she had given him yesterday. She turned on the shower and stripped out of her clothes.

Stepping inside she squeezed vanilla body wash on a sponge then ran it all along her body making sure each inch of her body got covered.

Turning off the shower, she stepped out and wrapped a towel around her body so it could dry while she did her make-up and hair. After her body was dry, she removed the towel and then rubbed vanilla lotion all over her body.

Walking over the red bag True pulled out the matching underwear to the turquoise
nightie
. She knew he would love the extra surprise pulling the
nightie
over the underwear True surveyed her reflection in the mirror. Surely, the vixen staring back wasn’t her. She looked like a totally different person with the clothes and make-up on.

She opened the bathroom door and found
Hayward
standing by the closet door with his back to her getting undressed. She could tell by his jerky movements that he was upset and frustrated. Posing in the doorway, she whispered his name, “
Hayward
.” He didn’t turn around. So, she tried again, “
Hayward
.”

Hearing
True
saying his name,
Hayward
turned to see what she wanted. The vision before him caused him to drop the shirt. True stood behind him in the bathroom doorway, looking downright edible. The greenish-blue
nightie
molded to her body causing her breasts to spill over the top. It barely came down to the middle of her thighs. The light from the bathroom almost made the gown transparent allowing him to see a hint of something beneath it. However, he couldn’t quite tell what it was. He blinked several time to make sure the loveliness in front of him was real.

Slowly he moved toward her, stopping when he was only a few inches from her taut body. His fingers skimmed her vanilla scented skin searching for her warmth. She posed for him to notice the matching bra and panties under the
nightie
. He couldn’t believe what his eyes were showing him. “Come closer, baby.”
