Midnight Moon: A Paranormal Werewolf Romance (Roadside Angels Motorcycle Club Book 2) (12 page)

At last, she stopped milking his cock, and the knot loosened enough that he could move away.  But he didn’t want to.  He was still firm, and with very little effort he could take her again.  He stroked in and out of her lazily, enjoying the sweet feeling that shot up his shaft into his spine, out to his fingertips.

“Mmmmmm!  I love making love to you,
chérie
.  I don’t want to stop.”  He stroked in again.  “I want to fuck you till we’re both exhausted.  I want to stay inside you.”  He pushed into her again, feeling his cock lengthen further.  Taking her down with him, he lay on his side, still inside her, and stroked in and out, raising her leg and pushing in deep.  She whimpered and he stopped at once.

“Do you want me to stop, baby?  Are you too sore?”

Tamara moaned.  “No.  No, fuck me, Lex, please.  Fuck me hard!”

Lex cursed.  Her words woke the beast again, and he pounded into her, feeling the pleasure rising, feeling his cock swelling.  He reached between her legs and caressed her clit gently, and when she was once again thrusting wildly back against him, panting with lust, he bit her again, his wolf still raging with need.

“Aaaaggghhhh!”  They both cried out together this time when his knot engaged, and her walls held him prisoner.  They massaged his aching flesh, and he lay behind her, basking in the glow of desire fulfilled.

Sated for the moment, he pulled her round to face him and kissed her slack mouth.  She was almost asleep, and he heard her whispering to herself as she fell asleep.  He only heard one word, but it made him smile.  He heard her say something about ‘love’.  What she loved, or who, he didn’t hear.  But it was a start.  He could live with that.  And before morning broke, he would love her all over, again and again.

Epilogue

“To love at all is to be vulnerable.”
~ C. S. Lewis

Lex lay awake long after Tamara fell asleep again, an hour before dawn, his arms around her, his heart beating in time with hers.  He should be exhausted after his long run earlier, and the sex marathon he had been in with her since they left the kitchen.  But he was energized.  He felt like a man reborn.  The bond between them was growing.  Even now, as she slept, he felt the deep connection to her winding itself around him.  He had tasted her blood, and had shared the essence of his being with her in his saliva and semen. Every time he orgasmed inside her, he released a hormone that would make her stronger, keep her healthier, make her live longer.  Her soul was being knit with his, as her body was being altered.  Though she would never become a werewolf, as a claimed and marked mate of one, she was now a physically enhanced human being.  And every time he marked her, every time he claimed her, he added to the effects of the hormone that would keep her with him.

The emotions swirling inside him were new, but now he welcomed them.  There was hope for a future with more than the uncertainties of his past.  There was joy in the affection he shared with her.  There was desire, deep, wild, unending.  And there was love.  It was growing, an ever-increasing flame that brought light to places he didn’t even know were dark inside him.  He had never been unhappy, though he had lived cautiously, aware of the prejudices that made his life forfeit if he were careless about his safety.  But within those parameters he had been happy, even content.  Now, with his mate, he saw the things he had been missing, the things he hadn’t known were possible for him, the things he would never have thought twice about.  Like children.

The thought of fathering children with Tamara filled his chest with so much warmth, he thought he would burst into light, like a newborn star.  He knew very little about children, but he knew he would love any they might have, as he would love their mother.  He looked down at her where she lay, her face turned up to his, and he couldn’t resist the urge to kiss her softly.  She was the treasure he had not known was his, and he would never lose her.  He would do everything in his power to ensure her safety and wellbeing, no matter the cost to himself.

Tammie stirred in his arms, and opened her eyes.  She knew where she was instantly, and the way Lex was looking at her reminded her of what they had spent most of last night doing in her bed.  She could feel her body heating up, and it wasn’t from embarrassment.  She marveled at the way she felt with this man -- this wolf -- when less than twenty-four hours earlier, she was more frightened and confused than she had ever been in her life.  She had never believed in things she couldn’t explain, using the facts she knew and understood.  If it was not logical, nor could be empirically verified, it was impossible, as far as she was concerned.  And yet, here was Lex, holding her securely, kissing her softly on the mouth, watching her with deep emotion in his eyes.  And she knew, somehow, that if she asked him to, he would shift, to provide her with the final proof she needed.

She had never thought much about love.  All her life, the most she had thought of was becoming a woman in the time-honored fashion.  In college, that had been her goal at the end, before she lost her chance with Garth.  She had always been a bit envious of her friends, many of whom had been initiated into the joys of sex way before she had, and she knew that some of them had pitied her.  Although it never made her change her mind about waiting for the right man, it had been annoying at times to have to live with their condescension.  Now, as she basked in the afterglow of incredible sex and tenderness, she wished she could show them who she had managed to snag for herself.  Her very own alpha wolf.  The thought made her smile.

She reached up to pull him in for a deeper contact between their mouths.    He gave her what she needed, and the moan that escaped her was one filled with contentment.  There was still a lot she didn’t understand, and much she was sure she had to learn, but she knew Lex would tell her anything she asked, and help her to adjust to her new reality.

“Good morning,” she murmured when he released her lips.  She stifled a yawn, and he chuckled.

“Wore you out, did I?”  He seemed inordinately pleased with himself, and she nipped him playfully on the finger he trailed over her lips.   He chuckled again, and nipped her lips in retaliation.

“Don’t start anything you can’t finish, baby.”  Abandoning the teasing nips for a full blown kiss, Lex explored her mouth, and she gave him back kiss for kiss, drawing his tongue into her mouth and suckling like an infant.  He groaned, and she smiled against his lips.

“I like it when you groan for me,” she said.  “It makes me feel powerful.  And with you, wolfman, I need to feel that sometimes.”

She felt his chest shake with silent laughter as he hugged her close, and she was glad she had decided to take a chance on him.  She wanted to live fully, and she suspected that with this man beside her, she would get everything she dreamed of.  She knew there were obstacles they had to overcome, and she wasn’t naive enough to believe things would always be smooth between them, but she was ready now to risk her heart for more time with him.
